John in the garden centre is a real star! Thank you, I have been trying to get my complicated hose connections to use my power wash right for a very long time. His expertise and patience soon sorted it. I’m so grateful ☺️ Visited again on a Sunday , please change your opening times on Google as they were incorrect! Because I was too early to pay for an item I ended up having an excellent breakfast.

Please give me a ❤️ if helpful I think this garden centre has improved over the years and it's a very nice and varied garden centre with lots of choice for the home and garden. Not strictly just a garden centre as they sell everything else too from clothing, furniture, food and artificial flowers to tropical and pond fish and items and treats pets, garden rooms and sheds etc etc. Plenty of parking too. You might also want to visit their restaurant. Very 😋 Definitely worth spending a few hours there.

Nice cosy place for a brekky, we had the vegan breakfast which was a good price with all the food well cooked just how it should be, we was waiting 40 mins before we realised they had forgotten our order which I can let go as it was a one off accident which is the reason why the review is 4 stars and not 5, would recommend. I would add if the food does not arrive within 15 mins then ask the question as they were prompt as soon as we let them know they had misplaced our order.

Knowledgeable garden staff always there to help and advice supported by carry to car service . Nothing is an effort for this team at High Legh , Adam , Alex Lauren in particular are experts in their own right and great to discuss your needs . The range of choice. In plants , soil treatments , tools , pots , seeds etc are vast as is the Garden furniture, stones , along with a Fantastic Range of sheds and Summerhouses , Offices , Workshops , where again Mel the building advisor is there to help . Then there’s the Restaurant- excellent choice -great menus from tea to banquet if you want and Julie is the Manager who ensure the standards are high in quality and choice . Need some socks and shirts and the cloths range for out door , walking along with shoe and boot range is good . Brought wooden carvings from here and had one specially made for me . Great day out for the family where there is a great miniature railway with a great train ride experience along with ice cream and gift shop . All in all a good day out and shopping experience.

I have mixed views about this rating…. The garden centre itself is really worth a visit. For someone Who spends a lot of time in garden centres (I am now at that age) it is good to see one that is not a large chain and actually has some Unique and different items for sale. The staff in the main centre are extremely friendly, the customer service team were very help helpful and I even engaged with a manager who could not have been More helpful!! So, why only three stars… It’s the restaurant! I have never been so disappointed. Two hot drinks and two scones, one a cream scone and the other with butter and jam. The cream was literally whipped cream!! The scone just collapsed and it was very dry and broke apart. Was a mess. Then we got charged 65p per butter portion as a ‘breakfast extra’. I had joined the loyalty scheme and asked about my two free hot drinks the guy at the till said I must have had Them already. I tried to explain this was the first but he didn’t seem interested and just wanted to serve the next person. I will revisit soon and I will give the restaurant another shot - if it was a one off - I will re-review. I would still say, if you like a good garden centre - then this one is worth a visit… just avoid the scones!

Went to High Legh Garden Centre with my wife purpose of buying plants/soils, etc. Queued up for 15 minutes for a coffee and tea. Poor young girl serving drinks totally overwhelmed by sheer numbers and the till crashing. Then spoken too by a surly older women (with no people skills at all) and asked, "Is there something you want?" I told her I was still waiting for my drinks. Talk about rude. I had a Drill-Sergeant like her in the 1960's!! To top it all, the young assistant had forgotten to put coffee into my cappuccino! Expensive hot milk. My wife and I spend a lot of money on our gardens but will not be stopping at High Legh again. This not the first time that I have complained about the attitude of some of the older female staff. Generally the younger ones are lovely and polite. Pay the young members of staff double and get rid of the surly older ones!!

Pleasant enough, but the whole place appeared to be swarming with affluent 'Cheshire Set' types and if you're not adorned from head to toe in tweed/Barbour, then you can become a little conspicuous and a potential target to be run over in the car park by one of their vanity vehicles. If you're lucky enough to make it to the front doors for having the audacity of not looking like an Esther Mcvey voter, I heartily recommend the bacon sandwich 🥪 .It can be consumed with the added bonus of dining amongst some of the great chatterati responsible for electing the architect of austerity.

Often in the garden centre but not eaten in the café before. Went today for lunch and really disappointed. It seems they don't serve tomatoes on or with anything! All the toasties come with caramelised onions. We wanted a cheese & tomato toastie but none so asked for cheese and fresh onion toastie but they only offer caramelised... infact only caramelised onions with all toasties; even the ham toastie and the tuna toastie.. and every sandwich. We had lattes with our toasties and although my hubby only walked from the counter to the table with them, they were cold. So cold that we only managed to drink half a cup before it was TOO cold to drink! Lovely place but the menu needs tweeking and the addition of fresh salad items as basic as tomatoes and onions for the sandwiches etc would improve the offerings no end!

I did not stay long.It was too far too busy for me. It was probably because it was coming up to Christmas. There were not enough disabled car parking bays.Even the normal car parking space was full.It is a nice place.I would say it has changed a lot since I was last there last. More toys, ornaments, candles, books, cards, food, than gardening stuff... There are toilet facilities and a cafe. The downside is you have to go all the way around to the tills. I only saw 2 tills. Lovely garden centre, with loads of Christmas gifts under £20, initial perception was that the cafe is not cheap, £9 for a toastie, however very good quality food and well worth the higher than expected prices. I was disappointed that the train ride and visit to Santa's grotto was £5 per head regardless of age (2+), whilst I can understand the cost for children as they receive a bag of sweets, I think it's a little heavy charging adults the full amount also.

We venture to the garden centre monthly for a sandwich cake and coffee.Noticed that the sandwiches(tuna) have changed in presentation now..they were formerly served on a slate with salad chrisps and some relish. It was particularly busy the day we went in,but the sandwiches had been pre prepared I'm sure.Despite being packed in there it had arrived at the table within less than a minute of sitting down, hence thinking it was ready to go..it almost appeared to have been under something warm. The chrisps were dreadful, the bread dry on the top,and the salad looked like it had been prepared earlier that day..We didn't complain because it was clear they had their hands full..But disappointing when you pay for food that isn't up to standard .

We used to live in Weaverham and often walked to the Riverside for a drink or food. They used to do 2 main courses for £10 which was good values for money. I know those days are now gone but after our recent visit I don’t think we will be returning. We booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4 people. We ordered drinks which came promptly and then ordered our food. We only ordered 4 mains, fish and chips, sea bass and 2 x steak and ale pies. We waited over an hour for our food, others who arrived after us received their food so we asked how long ours was going to take and were told they were just plating up. 10 minutes later we finally received our food. The fish and chips did look lovely and was a healthy portion size, the pies were well filled but mash potato was a bit on the small side. The main issue was the sea bass. There were 2 small fillets with a few crushed potatoes underneath, a spoonful of frozen peas, 2 green beans and 5 mange tout. Now for £17.95 I expected more. I’m not a big eater or a quick eater but I finished my meal first, and I knew I wouldn’t be full for long. How much do vegetables cost? Surely some carrots and tender stem broccoli wouldn’t break the budget? I did mention this and I was not charged for my alcohol free G&T, but I couldn’t wait to get home and have something to eat, disappointing.
