What a wonderful place! Was completely blown away by just how good the food was here, without doubt one of the best sunday lunches ive ever had, finding mysely enjoying vegetables that i wouldnt normally eat (parsnips) and my daughter claiming its the best carrott puree ever :) its a great concept sat right in the middle where the produce is grown, a wonderful setting and great service too, cant wait to go back!

Visited with friends and didn’t know what to expect as none of us had been before. Needn’t have worried as venue was perfect and staff very attentive. The vegetarian menu was interesting and well executed by the chef, to make the humble carrot, cabbage etc very tasty. Even us carnivores were well impressed! We will be back 😋😋

What a great evening. Went to the Wassail event, heard through our veg box delivery. Fun in the fields blessing the trees then morris dancing inside. Food was set menu of 5 courses, not huge 'but perfectly' formed, of delicious things mainly from their fields. Wine looked grt. We had beer and juice for me. Shared tables, diff sizes. Wasn't intrusive at all. Chat if u wanted, fine if you didn't. Loved it

Good ambiance and service. The food was delicious but could have been done with being a bit hotter. We booked again for the Burns' Night the following week. Looking forward to it

Lovely food and great atmosphere in their rustic barn open kitchen. I have multiple allergies and let them know of this in advance, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. They made me a bespoke version of every dish in the 5 course set menu and all were absolutely delicious. Me and my partner will be back and bringing our friends/family!

Loved our experience here, food was all delicious, so tasty. Service was excellent, couldn't fault it. Not too rushed but you weren't left waiting very long between courses. Loved the idea that all food is very local and fresh and it's a surprise! Only thing I would improve is that the chairs weren't very comfortable after sitting on them a while. We will be back 👍

The staff were all super lovely and welcoming, the setting is beautiful, it was so delightful watching the sunset over the kitchen garden and seeing the swallow diving in and out of the hedgerows as we eat. Getting to wander around the kitchen garden while we waited for our first course was so peaceful and interesting. The food was, as always, delicious, fresh and so innovative as well as being plentiful. The atmosphere was upbeat but relaxed and we had a thoroughly fabulous time. We will definitely be going back and I have a renewed enthusiasm for my Groobarbs veg box.

This was our first visit to Groobarbs Field Kitchen, but it certainly will not be the last! We were looking for something a little more unusual and we found it! It was a great experience. The food was superb and the ambience wonderful. The live music from Alex was a real bonus and helped make a really memorable evening. It was one of those rare warm, sunny evenings, so opening the big doors and connecting with the surrounding fields full of flowers and produce was extra special. Thank you!

Visited for Sunday lunch and the food was very good. The location is beautiful and staff were very attentive. Everything tasted very fresh and it was obvious it was a well oiled machine. For us the one thing we struggled with was the shared table space. We were in the middle of a long table (seats 12 people) in the centre of the dining room. It was incredibly noisy and we could barely have a conversation across the table, the very loud person next to us talked constantly over everyone else for the entire meal which became painful and there was no escape. Space was also very limited and we felt a little trapped. Despite the food being great and the place being beautiful we didn’t feel relaxed at all and couldn’t wait to leave due to the volume of noise which is a shame.

The staff were helpful and friendly and we have been telling everyone since that they should visit. Thank you for a lovely and unique evening.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend. It is a 5 taster course menu, mainly vegetarian based with one meat dish (or veggie option).

A lovely evening. An exquisite field to fork experience. Food was amazing. Venue was gorgeous. A stroll around the garden was a lovely end to the meal - you can see where the fresh produce was harvested!

This is about the 4th or 5th time I have eaten here. I know the drill. Shared tables with other diners, quite buzzy and relaxed. Set menu. I was quite disappointed. The menu looked pretty interesting but the execution was more miss than hit. Presentation wise, it looked lovely and our server was very friendly and efficient. However, the plates of hot, warm, lukewarm and cold left me a little confused as to... should it be hot? should it be cold? why is only half of the meat hot and the other half cold? Why is the dressing on the very cold lettuce warm and why is it sat on a sea of gravy with tough as boots beef? The cauliflower was very tasty though. Other observations are that coriander micro herbs are not a taste for everyone and these were in the accompanying vegetables. Also, if feta is on the menu, it needs to be the dish. I'm also not a dessert eater and never eat one. It would be good not to have to pay for it? I really don't think it is a place for couples, more for groups, unless they stick all of the couples together? I also felt very sorry for the acoustic act. The venue is too noisy to appreciate it.

Came across Chestnut Meats while searching to buy some kid for Easter as my local butchers were extremely unhelpful. The service I received from ordering to delivery was faultless. They were happy to discuss over the phone my particular butchery requirements and the kid was delivered today and it was exactly as I had asked. Excellent looking meat and I can’t wait to prep and cook it this Easter Sunday. I’ll definitely be ordering more!

Awful experience in here yesterday. With in 10 seconds of trying to order a drink I was made to feel about 2" tall. I asked the barman if he had any gluten free beers on draft and he bluntly said no. No alternatives offered or anything, he then abruply pointed me to the half empty fridge where he said there might be a gluten free beer in. I asked if he knew what beers are gluten free in the fridge to which he replied "I don't know you will have to look through them all." He then proceeded to try and look over me to the person behind to try and serve them. The level of service was diabolical and as a venue offering food and drinks it is expected that your staff know what they are selling and what allergens are in the products you are selling. I would not trust this venue again and would not recommend anyone with an allergy goes here. It is certainly not a coeliac friendly venue and they don't care. After having a bottle of cider we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Said barman was coming in from the outside and not even a thank you have a good day or anything, it was clear we where leaving as all four of us walked towards the exit. The other barman behind the bar equally didn't even say thanks or anything. Having worked in bars and restaurants myself the level of service was shocking. I know that you will probably come back and say oh sorry about this we had been busy, but in all honesty it wasn't that busy and there is no excuse for letting service slip to such a shoddy standard especially when it comes to things like allergens. You are selling products to people you should know your product and actively want to sell it, not think "oh this person has an allergen we don't want them here" or "oh they are an inconvenience I'll give them bad service" at a time where budgets are squeezed and business is struggling you would think every customer counts... Not here. Upon leaving we went to the beer emporium where the staff where more than happy to go and get the gluten free options out of the fridge and talk me through them. This is how it should be done. Again I do not recommend this place if you have allergies and I won't be returning. It is one of the most unfriendly places to visit with an allergy I have ever been to.
