The chef can definitely cook. Unfortunately the restaurant experience does not align with the lovely quality of the food.If the restaurant manager spent less time trying to up-sell and more on managing his team things might improve. Astonishment that we really did want tap water before choosing our drinks and amazement that we really didn't, definitely didn't, want a dessert isn't amusing bonhomie, it's sales talk. And it's really annoying. With a couple of exceptions, the waiting staff are inept and poorly trained. Sitting within earshot of the computerised order point (which astonishingly is in full view of the restaurant) and listening to a gaggle of staff faffing about what to do and arguing is greatly irritating and undermines the desirable mystique of the restaurant experience. Some of the staff don't have the language skills to be client-facing. "The duck, please" is quite unambiguous and I find it hard to see how that could be thought to be, "The liver, please". One waiter was plain indifferent and she audibly sighed at a request. We had to ask for things which trained staff would spot: a spoon for soup, for example, or the sparkling water which had been asked for light years ago. It is just incredibly clunky and at these prices you don't expect that.As for the restaurant setting... Imagine a posh version of the food court at South Mimms on the M25.The restaurant is open to the rest of the ground floor, so you're surrounded by the noise of the unfortunate pianist, a performer in another room, the excited crowds and music at an adjacent event, people rushing hither and thither to the toilets, the bedrooms, outside for a smoke, people trundling suitcases around, whatever ambient music is playing... It's cacophonous and chaotic. I thought they were going to try to sort that out, but that haven't. I've eaten here before and both previous experiences were disappointing verging on awful, so I won't be giving them the benefit of the doubt again.Honestly, the chef deserves better. There are much nicer eating experiences in Knutsford, so take a food guide with you and seek them out.

Best pub in Sandbach in my opinion. Friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks, lovely food, again very reasonable pricewise & a super garden at the back. Also dog friendly!

What a wonderful place. We stumbled on this pub purely by accident and I would have to say that the food was brilliant. We have travelled all over the world and are currently living in Australia and I would have to say that our meals at the Bulls Head were second to none. Service was also spot on and prices were reasonable too. In all honesty I have never tasted such good food in a pub. Everything was perfect. I rarely bother with Goggle reviews but felt I had to make an exception this time. Congrats to the staff and management of the Bulls Head. A true find!!
