We used the Bobbin after my partner’s funeral. There was a great selection of sandwiches, savouries, scones - and cakes! All well presented and delicious. There was also an endless supply of teas and coffees and it all helped to create a happy atmosphere. A brilliant job by Carina and all those who prepared the food.

Recently attended a wedding here. Venue and grounds beautiful and food was excellent. Unfortunately quite a few of the glasses had lipstick marks and the staff all looked very unhappy, even the one helping themselves to the evening buffet. Would recommend but maybe a staff team building session would be useful.

I used Gurkha spice as I was topping at a B&B a few doors down and I LOVE curry I all ways have a curry when away. You can see into the kitchen and I could see my curry was cooked fresh as I waited. The curry was stil hot when I got back to the B&B Keema Rice £3.00 Keema Chill Nan £3.25 Gurkha chilli curry £12.95 Very very tasty , loads of rice , lots of curry but not the greatest amount of chicken and the nan was one those very thin ones..... Taste fantastic really was 100% EXCELLENT for taste , Value id have to say Average/medium due to the price as thats getting on for the top end price for a curry in my book and so would expect lots of meat and a big nan .

We had a meal in The Last Zebra on Saturday. We were seated quickly and our drinks and food order was taken quickly. The drinks arrived promptly but the food took ages. After waiting for almost an hour my husband asked if there was a problem with our order. We were told they were very busy. In fairness they did give us a complimentary drink. After about another 15 minutes our food arrived but the starter and main courses were served together. We told the waitress and she said the other waitress had only started that day and had made a mistake. We only ate half of the starter as our main course was going cold. I ordered the chicken schnitzel which was so over cooked it was inedible. My husband had a burger which was okay. We had to complain again and the waitress didn’t charge for the chicken and took 50% off the price of the burger. We also realised later that there were no accompaniments on the plates apart from chips. There was clearly a problem in the kitchen and it was very busy but they shouldn’t take bookings if they can’t cope with the orders. Other customers had long waits too. This was so disappointing as we have eaten at The Last Zebra with family and friends many times before and it has always been very good. We’re not sure if we will ever go back again after this experience which is such a shame as it was one of our favourite places. The staff were lovely though. It must have been very stressful for them too.

Room 110 - Avoid if you are planning on sleeping at all. I have used this hotel on multiple occasions for work but may well look for another hotel in the future based on today’s experience. At the rear of the building is the kitchen area with very large extractor fans that make a hell of a noise. A constant drone that is loud enough that it will most likely keep you awake all night. I noticed this as soon as I walked in the room, went straight to reception to be moved but the hotel is fully booked. I was advised that the fans are switched off at 9pm. Heading towards 11:30 they are still buzzing away. The noise carry’s way over the TV, when the tv is off it is pretty unbearable. If you are in need of sleep, aim to be at the front of the main building or go somewhere else. Tonight is going to be a long night.
