Excellent chippy, friendly staff, fish and chips both freshly cooked and excellent.

Lovely find on our way home from Scotland to Cheshire. Wished our chippies used fresh potatoes and not half frozen chips. Good portion size. Lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Probably the worse fish I've eaten. The batter was soggy and yellow. There was water between the batter and fish. This was cooked to order. Definitely won't be going back.

£28 for 2 fish and chips two peas /small cold chips and cheese and two fish cakes that I never got because they forgot to put it in the bag but charged me for them.

Great food, Friendly staff, ask for items that may be cook to order save waiting too long, Cards and Cash accepted and Plenty of free parking.

Great food but they've got a relatively small free so be prepared to wait...the upside of that is you get freshly cooked red hot chips!!!

Really nice lunch time deal for Battered Sausage, chips and curry sauce or gravy. Their curry sauce is very nice.

Chose this wee chippy for a quick stop for tea enroute down to Plymouth. The staff were lovely and happy to cook what ever we chose. We opted for one large and one medium cod and chips. Delicious the batter was crispy not greasey and the cod was really fresh and tasted lovely. We will definitely visit again !! thank you ladies.

having decided to vary our dinner menu I visited this establishment to find it had in place a well posted and controlled entry policy for clients also a well-posted menu selection with prices its staff were neatly dressed, well-protected behind fixed fitted screens the food was of excellent quality well, boxed and wrapped, freshly cooked

hot fresh cooked food, worth the money

Went here last night. Empty when I arrived, not a good sign for a Friday night. Hard to locate fish on the menu board, almost like it was an afterthought, but eventually saw they only do Cod, medium or large. Asked for 2 large “we’ve only got medium”, pointing at 3 fish in the cabinet. I asked if they would cook large ones fresh, “we’ve only got medium”. Looking at the fish in cabinet, one was an ok size, the other 2 were small. Bought all 3 in the end, to ensure we had enough as we were both hungry. Added a small portion of chips, curry sauce and mushy peas, and bill came to over £17! Chips were luke warm. Fish itself tasted ok, but batter was very chewy. Mushy peas were pale beige - looked revolting, so I didn’t eat any. Curry sauce was the only saving grace! Would not recommend, and will definitely not go here again! Hardly deserves a star at all, except for tasty curry sauce 😒

Good food. Reasonable prices. We had the fish. Delicious. They do portion sizes for smaller appetites as well, which is great if you're dieting but want a treat. Easy parking nearby if you're travelling a distance.

I was so happy to see a real old fashioned mince and potatoes patty on this visit to Carlisle . Been there twice lol Big portions and wrapped in paper like they should be.

First time we had tried this chippy since moving to that end of town.delicious generous portions of hot crispy battered fish and chips will definately return.good selection to choose from and at good prices.

3 cod & chips (one with mushy peas & a roll) + 1 battered sausage & chips. We got home and: (1). the sausage wasn't battered & ; (2). the fish & chips were soft with the batter falling off the fish ... whether this was due to being presented in polystyrene containers so the heat from the food made it wet & soft is open to conjecture. A very disappointing experience & wont be going back in a hurry.

Never had a bad meal from there, All fresh and the shop is very clean and tidy. We use it at least 3 times a month

We get a chippy meal once every couple of months we tried here for the first time and the fish we had was just made and I can honestly say best fish and chips I have had there is also some tasty things on the menu lime Cumberland sausage black pudding etc we will be going again soon as the chippy is a treat now and again

This is a top quality chippy. The staff are friendly, the premises are spotless and the good is of very high quality and they have a large selection. I would happily recommend this to family and friends.

The food tastes nice but it's really expensive for the amount you get I normally half a portion of chips between my 6 & 9 year old but there was only enough for one of them. I no fish is expensive but normally a good size were as the fish here was the same size as you would expect out of a box. But they do offer a value half size fish and chips. I think customers would be more satisfied if the portions were bigger(or normal not tiny) or prices were cheaper.

i went to this chippy as it is only a short distance away and we just wanted a quick meal for me and my 4 kids.we bought a variety of meals curry and chips, cheese pattie and chips battered sausage and chips plain sausage and chips and just chips price is as expected and is roughly the same as everywhere else just the portions are a lot smaller than other places and although nice for a change not as nice as other chip shops in the city
