Usually don’t venture from City Centre when visiting Carlisle but spotted this wee gem when out for a walk on the Friday morning.. Glad we did as we both enjoyed our meal and we will certainly be back..

Came in with my wife and pooch just after food had stopped being served, on the back of a 6hr drive from the highlands of Scotland. Manager and assistant manager used amazing discretion and allowed us to order food. Food arrived quickly and was great quality. Dog got a good fuss and some treats, and the whole family left happy. Great visit, quality food and drinks, and highly recommend. We will be back for sure 😁

Went in tonight for the England game the atmosphere was great, we decided to have some food to soak up the drinks. I had the build your own burger, double size with bacon, cheese and chillies, heaven. My better half went for the chick and mix with jacket potato and salad. Due to extra time we had to have dessert which was strawberry and cream ice cream cake, delicious. Big shout out to the staff for their great service. Paigh, Steve and Connor. Thanks for a great experience, see you on Saturday for the next game.

Fantastic and cheep,we went for a break fast and got-to say it was beautiful I Neva finish a meal until my breakfast hear there was a group of us all the meals came at the same time and staff were lovely I would definàtly go again credit were it's due nothing but positive things to say lovely day lovely meal

Visited the apple tree over the bank holiday weekend. Was very busy but the staff were working hard to make sure everyone got served. We were just in for drinks before we went to the bingo but the atmosphere was great and the drinks super cheap. We will be returning hopefully get some food next time

Had a good Sunday lunch. Value because you can get two meals at a discount. If you are on your own you might pick something else. No room for pudding, which was a pity.

Great town centre pub, nice food, really quick and well priced. We were sitting near the bar and 4 men entered the bar and had obviously been previously drinking and were quite rowdy. Using colourful language. The bar manager stepped in immediately and asked them to moderate their language which they did straight away. Great customer management!

Found this place by accident when everywhere else was closed for bank holiday. The food was re ally nice, the staff really friendly and helpful and there's was a great deal on on the food too so we got 2x meals with drinks for less than it would've cost to go to Subway. Couldn't fault it, will definitely go back.

Come here most weeks and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Staff are friendly and the assistant manager Chantel especially went above and beyond when my daughter had a drink spilled over her at the table. Couldn't appreciate how much she did to make my daughter feel better, even replacing the drink despite the accident being our fault. Definitely a loyal customer after such lovely treatment even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon!

A Green King pub with no IPA, or altenative ales!

It's like a Wetherspoons but with football on the telly. My apologies if we were a bit too loud when Manchester City won 4-0 against Fulham last Saturday! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Dropped in to grab something to eat. Quick service. Served by Paige who was very friendly and welcoming. Lovely food cooked by Will. Couldn’t fault it and excellent value for money.

We met family who had a dog and wanted to have lunch,we were told that the Apple tree was the place to eat, It was the first time we had eaten in a dog friendly pub, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, and they had a dog meal menu which was good 👍, overall it was a lovely time and I would highly recommend, thanks again to the staff

An amazing pub, really cozy atmosphere, the staff always look after us really well, nothing is too much to ask, whether it's extra sauce for my child, or some extra cheese on a burger. They provide colouring sheets and pencils for kids. The staff are always really cheerful and friendly, and the pub is always very clean and well looked after even during busy periods, you always see them popping out grabbing glasses and cleaning the empty tables so it's not empty but dirty when the next guest comes in. Very cosy pub, family friendly, dog friendly and great staff what more can you want.

Best breakfast in town, thank you to chefs Matt and Adam for always making it special. Bar staff also very friendly, Steven K. never let me down with an excellent service.

Popped in with some friends on payday weekend to have a good catch up and drink. What a great pub super friendly service for the 2 ladies behind the bar both smiling and having fun even though they never stopped. We later found out it was rhe assistant manager on duty with a girl named paigh unfortunately we didn't get the assistant managers name but these 2 are a credit to your team 👏

Came in after work for some food and a few drinks and the service was fantastic and such a warm welcome by Paige. The burger were amazing!! The size of the burger for only £6 was crazy and just perfect, so thank you Adam! We will 10000% be back…!

Went for a couple of drinks after work and was served by a lovely young lady named Page,nothing was a bother and she mentioned they serve two pinters of beer,my friends and I enjoyed our visit and will be back.

Popped in for a pint, service was quick and easy, i was served by a Ciara and she made the whole experience that bit smoother.

5 Paigh and Luke Work very hard and nothing was a hustle to them and make every one welcome Always seem to smile and have a chat with every customer Paigh is always smiling and laughing. What more can you ask for from the barstaff I would recommend the Apple Tree if these staff are working, I think I’ll come back again. I will come back again thank you. I really enjoyed my evening.

Went before a charity night for a drink and something to eat it was busy but was served at the bar by a friendly member off staff called Paige very friendly and great customer service even though the pub was busy only two members off staff working the bar and taking out meals they did a amazing job I ordered the gammon steak and partner had the lasagna. Both meals were well presented very tasty can’t complain at all the chef did amazing job getting the food out fast both staff on the bar and in the kitchen did a amazing job and we will be back again

Visited on a Friday night, served by Paige on the bar, had some lovely drinks and food cooked by chef Adam, both me and my mother when for the Chick n Mix meal, chicken was wonderfully fresh and really good quality, the food came quickly and was perfect all round! Not our first time at the Apple Tree, and won’t be our last

Sunday lunch on 24th March was awful. When I said so nothing was done. The 4 of us won't be back.Veg were frozen,small portion of instant mash. Stuffing was hard &dry. Tiny roasties & fatty beef. Men served b4 women,3 plates cleared & 1 left on table.

Cant go wrong with the scampi and chips here was delicious! Paigh was super chatty and even promoted the greene king app for a free drink for us!

Had a mega breakfast which was just about ok. Cappuccino was awful. Atmosphere and service was good.

Awful rude staff, asked for a refund before the food arrived as they wouldn't serve my son alcohol and we were out as a family celebrating his 24th birthday (he has been drinking there for the last 6 years) we also had proof of age. Thanks for you reply Greene King but your staff have happily served my son for the previous 6 years (except his birthday last year) and isn't it funny how we then walked down the road to the Griffin also one of your establishments and got served without any questions

Cheap drink and food plus football on Burgers are amazing, Cumberland sausage is not so good. Kid friendly, but they are not allowed to press buttons on the gamblers.

Another Greene King pub with no ale. Sign outside saying cask ales but non on offer. Loads of draught lager loads of bottled lager but ale choice was 330ml pale ale or bottle of brewdog IPA.

Came in with my daughter today for a meal, we had a 30 minute wait for our hunters chicken, well worth the wait. Staff member at the bar was brilliant, other customers were well behaved 😄

Went in while we were doing our Christmas shopping. THIS IS A CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE!! Had the Christmas dinner in a giant Yorkshire pudding, everything was perfect. Including the price. The staff were great too, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Can't wait...

The Apple Tree is a great spot for lunch with friends or family as it has great food with great prices for what you're getting and accommodating staff. Would come again!

When the real ale is on, it's brilliant

Very disappointed! Had our staff Christmas Dinner there. not enough place settings when we arrived. Never given conderments waited forever for the food. All the soup starters were tepid at best. We waited 45 minutes for our main course and half were done eating while the other half had no food at all. For those that got turkey the portions were coming out smaller and smaller. We waited 40 minutes for puddings after watching the kitchen staff receive a food takeaway delivery order from another restaurant or takeaway. All the staff were more interested in serving drinks than taking care of us.

Didn't enjoy our food, it was all cold and took a while to come out. Must of been sat a while before it was brought out. I had one of the kebabs. Served on cold flatbread. Felt like it had just came straight out of fridge. Would of been better/nicer to warm it up before putting cooked food on top. Other meals were also cold. Nice pub though.

Unfortunately this Establishment is ran by Incompetent bar staff with poor skills to rectify simply customer issues. Avoid !

A nice pub and the service was great.

We had a 15% off voucher from our AA app, however we paid more using the voucher than we would have paid using the in-house offer on the menu. We were also charged for a garlic bread that was included in one of the menu items. So be careful using money-off vouchers, some times the in-house offers are better. Also be careful what is being added to your bill. The garlic bread was add to our order by mistake and then refunded. However, we need to examine what we would pay using the offer in the menu and then work out what we would save by using our vouchers. Other staff from other pubs understand which is the cheapest option and guide the customer to the best value for money. This didn't happen today, the girl knew that we were making an error but allowed us to go ahead and pay extra. Please do not be mislead by the response to this comment as it places the blame on us and tries to make the staff in the right. Believe me this was not the case. The meal was good the service good but it would have been nice to have a little guidance.

As usually another excellent visit to the Apple tree, the staff are very accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to please customers. We went for my sons 18th birthday breakfast and the table was prepared with decorations and made it an all round...

Would highly recomend Had Christmas Dinner with 2 friends, the meal was fantastic table set with decorations and crackers . Staff very attentive We were all very impressed 2 courses for 11.99

Fab prices and they do an all day breakfast! A great place to grab a bite to eat . Plenty choices too on the menu .

We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children who had a late lunch/early dinner on Thursday . Everyone of us enjoyed our meals. Staff were lovely and friendly. Can honestly recommend and you won’t be disappointed 😀 Can’t thank Connor enough for going out of his way to return my purse. Best wishes
