Really lovely place inside with attentive staff and lovely food. Reasonably priced too.

Great tasty food. Lovely staff . Near to the station and recommend by a bouncer at a nearby pub. We will go again next time we are in the city.

Been here before and food excellent .. tonight must be a different chef .. food completely different . cold chicken, no sauce .. so no uniformity on meal qualities . Very disappointed. My wife's chicken gyros had the lukewarm chicken and one green olive, when we complained the meal returned with warm chicken and about 6 green and black olives . Still very bare tasziki saucy, a scraping at best. My tomahawk pork , I had to ask for more potato sauce as there was basically none first time around.

My first visit, a Friday evening, was to meet friends for a drink before heading off to an engagement. The door staff was friendly and reassuring. The staff at the bar, where we sat, were helpful and provided a knowledgeable service. There's a good range of beverages available and a very impressive gin selection. I like to find something I haven't tried before, and I was absolutely not disappointed with my choice. I observed numerous busy, pre booked tables of people enjoying their food. I would absolutely recommend early booking for this venue. I would definitely go again for drinks, and I would like to try the food too.

We hadn't booked, just happened upon this place. Cocktails were excellent, food delicious, staff really friendly. They let us take up a Saturday afternoon table for 2.5 hours before giving us plenty of warning that it was needed for a reservation. Would happily visit again.

Deeply quirky and fabulous fresh real food. Huge portions - we made a curry lamb dish from the doggy bag we took home (!). Great staff, wonderful interior design, noisy but oddly quiet for conversation. Overall outstansing.

If you're interested in craft beer, this is a good place to go! They always have a good selection of beers, and you can have 3 thirds if you can't make up your mind!

Great place for more dressy drinks, through the day is lovely and food is 10/10 every time. Atmosphere is great for date nights and birthday meals although sometimes can be very lively !

We love this place we visit several times throughout the year, sadly they’ve changed the menu and the Ribeye steak is no longer there, gutted as it was what I always ordered. Wether it’s costing or source issues wish it makes a return

Delicious food. Really good diverse menu. Spoiled for choice.

Service and staff were great. Sunday lunch was apart from the beef which was so tough, fatty that even a steak knife couldn’t get through. Possibly a one off. Shame because everything else was enjoyable.

Superb meal - great atmosphere and great service

I'd heard that the vegan food here was poor. I looked at the menu and thought "what a fantastic range of options - it can't possibly be true". I thought it was poor. I had a tofu noodle dashi which tasted like soy sauce mixed with stock with plain tofu cubes. And I had bao buns which had a mushroom inside which was very salty and didn't taste of much else. The salt and chilli fries were nice.

Exceptionally good food. I had the Salt and Chili confit duck and my girlfriend had the inka chicken kebab. Huge portions. Highly recommend

We only had a couple of drinks but as soon as we entered I sensed the lovely atmosphere... service was very friendly and welcoming and so were other visitors. Quirky little place, would try the food if I was to visit again

Really delicious food from a great menu - attentive friendly staff, great drinks menu and fab atmosphere. The pan fried sea bass was a stand out for me, but the variety of dishes on the menu made it a difficult choice!

My family and I dined last night (19.8.24) at the Last Zebra in Carlisle and we are a family with multiple allergies. I cannot even begin to convey just how helpful Bruno our waiter for the night was with this. He liaised with the Chef multiple times without any sense of exasperation. He was meticulous in ensuring everything we ordered for our daughter (aged 7) was safe and also informed us of other options such as vegan cheese which we weren’t aware was an option. It meant that with a few tweaks, our daughter was able to order the burger she wanted with vegan brioche and vegan cheese. She was delighted! It can be very difficult dining out as a family with multiple life threatening allergies, as you can imagine, but Bruno made this process so easy and smooth. He is a credit to the company! He also let my husband (a huge beer fan) try a sip of a couple of beers to try to guess which ones they were from the menu which was a lovely personable touch. We would also like to extend our thanks to the Chef for their careful preparation as well. Incidentally, our food was delicious and we all enjoyed what we ate! I had the salmon with crayfish sauce which was incredible! I also ordered a small plate of beef tacos (because I am greedy!) which was so full of flavour. The beef was spicy and so incredibly soft. Delicious! If we are ever back out that way in Carlisle, we will definitely be visiting again.

We where staying in longtown and visited the last zerba for dinner for my birthday, we had a little mishap with the printer not printing out our food ticket so unfortunately we waiting nearly 1 hour and 20 mins for food but the staff were great and took full responsibility for the mistake, food was really nice and there drinks where really refreshing!

Steak was beautiful but not cooked as requested, still ate it. A nice dining experience 👌

We visited while in the area one evening last Thursday, 8th of August 2024. I have unusual dietary restrictions, but despite my issues, the staff and kitchen team accommodated us without issue. They were able to create a meal I could eat, cooked to perfection. Service was attentive, too, and extremely friendly. There aren't always places able to be so flexible, but the team at The Last Zebra were excellent. Of course, the food for the other guests, using the standard menu was excellent, too. Lovely presentation, and tasted wonderful. While they may not be able to accommodate every dietary issue, they did for me. Therefore, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Well done guys and thank you.

Nice bar, nice surroundings, decent selection of spirits and beers on tap

Following the sad event of the passing of our uncle and being ‘let down’ at the last minute by our planned venue for a funeral meal we hurriedly rearranged a family meal at the Last Zebra. Unbeknown to us many of our uncles friends attended the venue and despite the table only being booked for 8 family members the staff were absolutely brilliant and accommodated about 25 people. Everyone who wished to have a meal was served and the quality of the food was excellent. A massive thank you to all the waiting staff and the same for the kitchen staff who must have been under pressure. A BIG thank you to each and every one of you; keep doing what you do and the place will continue to thrive.

Stopped here for some grub, food was excellent, huge portions, think they could afford to reduce them! Beer selection was also great

Wait staff were very friendly, the food was delicious. Met a friend over from aus and he has his first ever UK roast dinner, he was very impressed. The small plate pork belly bites were my favourite and the houmous was a close second! The wine was good and so were the cocktails

Best place for 100 miles. Had the small plates. Delicious and filling. Super cool staff and great music all the time. Highly recommended!

The menu looked great. I asked for the plant based menu and ordered the cumin roasted cauliflower with dhal. Sadly, the cauliflower was just boiled pieces of cauliflower, i mentioned it to the attentive waiter who queried this for me, only to be told that they made a mistake and i could have a free dessert. We didn't want a dessert, so i simply asked for a discount. All i got was £2.18 taken off the bill, which is less than the price of a dessert! Considering that there were four of us and they were making enough money from our orders, i found this gesture quite insulting! Certainly won't be going there again. I've warned my friends too! The only redeeming feature was the service provided by a diligent and polite waiter. Even my husband's selection of three small dishes were not that flavoursome, despite looking nice.

We managed to book last minute whilst in Carlisle through the website. The food was brilliant, very big portion of salmon though and a personal preference would be that one salmon fillet would be more than enough on the dish. It was all super though and the cocktails we had were brilliant too.

5 of us went here for food, the service was excellent, and the food was very good indeed, priced really well, I can particularly recommend the chicken gyros. And the small plates menu. Would definitely visit again

After a long day of travel & hiking we stopped in this gem. We had the kindest server that got us in just before 9 for a delicious dinner & drinks.

Surprisingly good Asian-fusion menu. Everything I had was delicious but my favorite were the Japanese-style dumplings. Great assortment of beers and I had a good whiskey sour.

Lovely restaurant with good atmosphere. Not cheap but good food, with a small range of plant based foods. The only downside was a bit too much salt.

It was my first time in here. Food , service & Atmosphere was excellent.

Just came in here for drinks with a friend, I'd love to try the food next time. The cocktail menu has excellent variety and the drinks were prepared wonderfully, indulgent and delicious. We will be back! Also I forgot my hat here and was able to collect it from lost and found the following afternoon, which was appreciated.

I have to say the food was amazing would 100% go back again and service was brilliant.

Popped in looking for something to eat. Asked if we could have a table (plenty available and never got full) she looked at her screen and said that one over there will have to do. Sat down and we waited apx 5 mins. When the server came over with menus she said kitchen closes in 5 you'll have to hurry up. Really would have preferred her to say, really can't be bothered to serve you, just go elsewhere, as that was the attitude we were given. Ordered quickly as instructed, steak burgers and chicken gyros. Waited apx 10 minutes for the drinks and 15 for the food. For the price paid the food was exceptionally disappointing. Chips were overcooked and cheap run of the mill fries. In fact, McDonald's fries and burgers are tastier. Never thought I'd say that. Whilst eating the server, continually watched us literally waiting to swipe the plates from under our noses as soon as we put the cutlery down. My husband even commented on this and he only had a reflection in the glass. Plenty of other people were still in the area just finishing their meals so it wasn't like we were the last people in the place. The server literally looked like she was chewing a wasp throughout the whole time which probably took 35 minutes max as we felt so unwelcome we just wanted to leave. It looks popular with the locals but We definitely would not return.

The food was lovely, we were a table of six and everything came at the same time, well cooked and tasty. Service was on point and felt well looked after despite it being a busy Saturday. They had a specific vegan menu as well. The only thing was one of us ordered the shredded beef in noodles/broth - steak was not cooked well and didn't taste very good - staff explained this was not the norm and were more than happy to swap for another dish was was lovely. Cocktails were amazing. Will definitely come back

Bought the 3 for £24 small plates and the duck fat chips. Just the right amount of food for 2 people. Shredded beef tacos, Vietnamese belly pork and the fried japanese chicken dumplings! Absolute taste sensation. Finished with a girls trip cocktail and paradiso non-Alcoholic beer!

Went for tour of carlise train station abd the county hotel reccomended here. We booked ahead online. Ordered the miso noodles, fish and a rochet dessert. All really tasty and very filling. Got busy after 12 so deffo book Staff are really friendly. Very quirky looking deco Like that you can see the kitchen as its all open Bar looks bouji Love all the vegan options too

Food was relatively expensive, but pretty good quality. Good portion sizes, food came hot, and was nicely presented. Menu had good choice; although it may look limited, there is actually quite a wide range of selection. Staff are friendly too, though drinks and food took a while to come. The restaurant itself has a nice ambience too, even though it wasn't busy. Overall, a nice place to eat and relax.

Great place to eat. Nice and varied menu, had the kebabs which were great. Great Sunday roasts too. Small dishes very nice. Would recommend. Gets busy on a weekend so book up. During the week is quieter so good for kids. Been back and had the gourmet burger, very tasty. Good beer selection.

Very expensive. Nice cocktail, food was OK but 17.50 for a Sunday lunch with 2 bits of meat was disappointing.

Pre-booked a table for 9:30, was told they’d given it away by 9:33 and couldn’t kick the others out even though they’d said they were us and took our table. Told us we were ‘30 mins late’ until we shown them the booking email which showed otherwise. Manager(?) offered us a table of 4 (there were 8 of us), but otherwise said “It’s other people’s Christmas too” and told us to go elsewhere. 👎

Refused to honour a booking we made because somebody else claimed our booked table? Said they could not remove the other group who claimed our table and offered us a 4 seat table for 7 people. Obviously this wouldn’t work and they said “you look like you’ll never be happy” and asked us to leave. Very confrontational behaviour on their part.

Lost our pre-booked table to a Jack Williams impersonator. Staff refused to rectify the situation citing baseless claims about our groups happiness at Christmas. Rude service, avoid at all costs.

Never disappointed with the food, drinks or service here. It's our go to for a beautiful meal out or a catch up with friends.

A couple of decent ales and the food dish I had was really tasty (sea bass), superb service - amiable and efficient.

Nice atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon, rigid booking system and 2 hour time slot. Food was average at best, slightly disappointed given the price point. Would call in again for a few drinks.

Most unacceptable customer service. They refused to turn the music down even when we explained why politely with two staff members. We left. This place definitely requires disability awareness training and deaf awareness training. I shared my experiences with others which shows how important it is to listen and respect customers request for adjustments.

1st time we have eaten here...&we chose a very busy day as it was graduation day in Carlisle. The food was lovely &we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Very friendly staff too. We recommend it :)

Food is lovely you must book a table as the place is very popular, we sometimes have to sit at the bar it great if you just want a drink and the bar staff are lovely cocktails are the best if in Carlisle you must try this bar

Not very good food quality seems to have gone downhill staff didn't seem to be concerned shame as a favourite place.

Fish was over cooked on both dishes. The sea bass was about the size of a tinned sardine. There was enough rice with the salmon dish to feed a small country.. overall not a great experience.

One of my favourites in Carlisle. Food is consistently good no matter what I choose. Very fast service and prices reasonable. A regular for me and my friends.

We arrived without booking on a Monday evening. Staff were friendly and helpful. At first we thought there was only 1 veggie option before we realised there is a separate vegan menu available. Between us we had Katsu Tofu, Halloumi wraps and meat(less) meatballs. All the food was excellent and portions were generous.

With a large group who ordered different dishes from the menu, every one of them rated the food highly!

What we liked was the menu, in particular what could be their specials. This was a range of dishes with a spicey element. I had the lamb chops, they were delicious. My wife had chestnut roast, and both meals were of generous size - there were three chops on my plate.

Very lively cocktail bar which was good fun to be in. Service was excellent.

One dish we got was excellent, another was slightly above average. The service was fast, but our waitress seemed like she was annoyed to be serving us. All in all it's a pretty good place to eat, just be warned that the dishes are quite small.

Returning to the pleasant city of Carlisle, our favourite restaurants were closed (it was a Monday). Googling around, Last Zebra popped up. And were we pleased! Not a huge menu, but an excellent variety. A bottle of good Shiraz, and prompt, pleasant and helpful service from a youthful team. We had been away in Ireland for a fortnight, and enjoyed some very good meals. But this was probably the best. Thanks, Zebra. You rounded of an excellent holiday in great style!

Just had a meal at this fabulous restaurant in Carlisle. We chose it because it had an extensive and exciting plant based menu. Lots of meat / fish options as well. Fabulous flavours, great presentation and friendly service. Wish there was one near us and will return if we come this way again! Thank you!

We arrived without a reservation and were accommodated by the staff although advised they’d need the table for a pre booked group later. The staff were always readily available to take drinks and food orders without being at all pushy. The food was fantastic, all six in our group was delighted with their meal. I had the spiced lamb chops …. my friend had the steak , my wife had the duck…… we all agreed that the meat was clearly top quality and the flavours and presentation brought out the best. It’s a nice vibe in there, music but not overwhelming. Good value. Just wish it was closer to our home 😁.

It is a pitty that they do not have rolls or sandwiches, only warm food.

Just been told by the doorman that because 6 of our party turned up then 2 mins later another 3 that it's now a problem because we lied about numbers. The place could accommodate all of us easily but when pointed out we were told by doorman we don't have to stay. Staff behind bar were part of conversation which included how much money this was costing business but doorman said we could leave as changed mind on Numbers so had lied . Was polite explaining but bar staff did not respond and doorman said to go

Visiting Carlisle where some family members live. Shocked at the awful welcome by the doorman. Sarcastic and most unwelcoming greet. Lost our business as a result of his bad attitude. Party of 10 could have made a significant difference to tonight’s takings as the bar was half empty. Sorry - but won’t ever be returning
