Ordered two chicken dansak for tea last night. Absolutely delicious! It was on the Monday to Thursday £6.95 special. I requested vindaloo hot and less oil... one of the very best curries that I have eaten.

Would never buy an Indian from anywhere else but Gurkha Spicy, it was my mothers favourite Indian takeaway until she passed away she loved their chicken tikka masala, even when started finding it hard to swallow they gave us extra sauce so we could liquidise it so she could still have it, going over and above for their customers is outstanding, couldn’t fault this takeaway in any way shape or form, food is always fab & nice and hot, large portions well worth every penny, delivery is quick, drivers are always polite and are a credit to the takeaway. 5 * all the way start to finish,

The naan bread was soaking wet, and poppadoms were smashed. Really put me off when I got a piece of naan bread and had to wash my hands.

Ordered food from the delivery app Just Eat. The food was really good in taste except for the Seekh kebab (which was included in the Gurkha platter ) being too salty. Gurkha platter was sufficient for two( includes 2 piece fried momos, 2 piece chicken tikka, 2 piece lamb tikka , 2 piece fried wings, 2 piece fish tikka, 1 long piece Seekh kebab ). Special fried rice and Pineapple rice was a different experience to the taste buds from the ordinary styles available. Paneer masala was great as well. Really great for money spent. Suggestion : They could reduce the amount of oil in their Rice dishes.

Delivery. Awful prawn(shrimp) balti, full of sugar, granules included, inedible. Chips(french fries) lukewarm and cardboard like. The rogan josh was OK though.

£48.10 on an order and left a rice off when I rang in they said we never ordered it but the price said we did. Food all tastes the same. She cannot understand you and the hole experience was hard work. I read the order back several times. She then kept saying the wrong address despite keep giving the post code! AVOID!!!!!!!! As you can see by there reply they lie, we did not get anything extra. They sent the wrong nan breads to. No rice! Poor food! Avoid and use others in Carlisle. Worst service and food ever! Saying I going to leave a review is NOT threatening behaviour. As a business accept your wrongs and improve not lie to justify poor food and service! I never leave reviews but after the lies you said on the phone others need to be aware of your lies and poor service. I would not buy from you again. Shocking priced food poor quality.

Absolutely mouth watering dishes as curry and one of the best fastest service ive seen ever in my life at Carlisle.

We visited this place on a chance and based on reviews as we were travelling through at night and needed somewhere to eat. Well, this is a little gem as far as takeaway goes. Although there is a small room for dining in which we did, this place looks to cater for takeout. The food is very tasty and delicious with good portions. I had the Bao Bao buns with pork and the Gurkha burger with no cheese. Great value for money.

One of the best curries I’ve had in a while, the portions are quite generous, it’s super flavourful and you get so many huge chunks of meat with your curry. Definitely well worth the price.

Great food, great service using the app. Had 3 dishes in the last month, chicken madras, chicken bhuna, chicken chilli naga ( but asked for not as spicy) all 3 brilliant. Loads of fresh tender chicken, very tasty sauces. Easy parking over the road 20 metres away

This place has gone down hill, very sad really as this used to be our go to curry place. Our last meal was luke warm, we had to reheat it in the microwave! 6 chunks of chicken in the chicken tikka masala, 1cm of oil floating on top of the Aloo dum. Poppadoms smashed to bits. As I said before, this place has gone downhill. They don't reply to complaints. Better curry spots in Carlisle. UPDATE.... still 6 small chunks of chicken swamped in a tasteless sauce. And now £11.95!!!!! Absolute rip off.

Amazing food, we took the deal for 2 persons and we couldn't finish it. Everything tasted amazing, there was a good amount of chicken in the curries. Cash only is is a bit impractical

Spent £20 & got a burnt on onside naan & raw on the other, dansak with no pineapple & the grease off the onion bhajis had come through the carton and the paper was drenched in grease, absolutely disgusting food, all but the salad & rice was inedible, closed now, but ill be ringing tomorrow.

Didn't met my expectation.I'm a frequent traveller to India, had opportunity to taste many of the delicious North Indian and South Indian Dishes.Same taste you can find in few of the Indian restaurants at Manchester and London, not in any of these Indian named restaurants in Carlisle.

Used to order from here fairly regularly. Sadly our most recent delivery wasn't as good as it used to be. I wonder if, rather than raise their prices to cope with the cost of living, they have lowered their quality.

We use Gurkha Spicy reasonably regularly and the food is always lovely. Additionally, the staff are all very pleasant and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend!

My Brother recommended Gurkha Spicy as he has had some takeaways from there a few times. We telephoned our order and it was taken by a very helpful lady and arranged delivery. The meal we had was very very good, big portions and full of flavour, we couldn’t eat it all so the leftovers were put in the freezer for another day. Exceptional.

My mom and I have ordered from Gurkha Spicy a few times and each time the quality if the food and service has been amazing! Truly tasty dishes of top quality care that goes into making the food taste amazing as well as packaging with care, we always receive the food hot and ready to eat, as well as the driver Allan I had tonight his service was excellent, such a kind smile with delivery and so polite we will definitely continue to order in the future.

Meal arrived late and cold, had to reheat it in the microwave. Aloo dum was swimming in oil, poppadoms smashed to bits, 6 bits of chicken in the tikka masala. If I wanted a substandard microwave meal, I'd have gone to asda.

What has happened to Gurkha Spicy? We always order the set meal for two, but they’ve changed the menu, portion sizes are a lot smaller and sad to say the meal we had tonight was not up to their usual standard. Lamb was tough, bargees were undercooked and the naan bread was definitely overcooked. On the plus side it was delivered on time.

Decent size portions loads of meat in each dish. The meal deal for one is enough for two days and the gurkha spice dish is so nice.

First del tonite. 2 hour wait.phoned them and not interested.frozen chips. Salad was just lettuce. No mango as ordered. House curry ok. Wife's veg biriyani very good. Promised poppadoms for wait.im still waitingfor them.ghurka meat platter sent,not ghurka mixed platter as ordered. Soggy naans. All in all, average. Wife said we give them another go cos she liked biriyani. Looking at reviews , i expect an automated reply to my review. Lazy if that happens. Best bit. Excellent polite delivery driver. Very disappointed, 2 chicken kormas absolutely terrible. Very very sloppy chicken pink, cold chips and rice and under cooked naan breads doughy. Plate full of watery sauce absolutely terrible.
