The best restaurants in South Tyneside North East

I went to Life of Riley on Sunday/Monday morning 4th/5th August 2024. We used to call it Spiker Riley as in the past we have had attempts to spike our drinks. The other night we were there till 02:30 and the security in there were absolutely fantastic. One guy inside spotting any trouble and two guys on the door responding. The guys were professional polite and strong when required.My wife and myself felt totally safe as there is the usual mix of Bumpers on Hairy Mikers night. Excellent work guys.

Lovely pizza nice fresh and definitely worth a try if ur looking go a nice pizza plus all the food hear is nice u won’t be disappointed like me

Ordered on the app for delivery, delivery never came, went down to pick it up, the order hadn’t even been sent out. Got the order home & it was freezing & also box of 20 nuggets were missing, rang the restaurant & was told nothing they could do & to contact customer service on the app, it’s an absolute joke trying to contact them, normally don’t complain but this is the second time this has happened. I won’t be ordering again. AVOID ordering on the McDonald’s app

All the food was greasy, service was terrible and food got sent to the wrong address before arriving at our home, nothing had any flavour and it was basically inedible, absolutely vile, will never be going back, worst takeaway I’ve ever had!

The food was delicious, the chicken and all other meat is halal. The pizza was really tasty and cheesy. The staff is really good and great to speak to. Must visit

Waited 1 hour 40 minutes for delivery and the shop never bothered to call to let us know it would be that late. Just eat said 1 hour but it was way longer than that. The shop in the long run will just loose money as people won’t re order. They obviously either need more staff or to be better at updating just eat delivery times. It was a pay weekend they got my money but they didn’t even offer a partial refund for it being so late so In the end they got my money but lost me as a customer. Plus the pizza had pepperoni on it when it wasn’t supposed to. If I order from dominos or Balti masters it takes like 30 minutes cause they obviously have more drivers working.

I came here for tea tonight and they did not disappoint. Large expansive menu with lots to choose from. We were served by a lovely young ginger girl who was happy to answer any of my questions about the menu, she was a credit to your team. Our food came promptly and piping hot, the food being absolutely lovely, all 4 meals we had. The same lady that served us on the bar came over and checked everything was fine with our meals which is a good touch to the pub. 10/10 will definitely come back :)

Really disappointed today with my salad box.Female staff need to tie hair up as had big hair in mine tonight

This is my second experience using this take away and yes I was very happy with the food it arrived hot and full of flavour. I certainly will be using again. It is not only good value with the food choice being of high standard.
