The best restaurants in South Tyneside North East

Great value for the chicken in batter with fried rice. Curry and mushrooms really nice. Delivered on time, hot with free prawn crackers. A lovely meal .

There are so many restaurants that do takeaways also that choosing something different is difficult sometimes. We decided on Pizza Corner as liked the choices and were very impressed. Two pizzas, delivered on time and hot to eat. Pepperoni and bolognese pizzas with added toppings, lovely.

Too dry and chewy fish cake and chips. Wish I'd gone to colmans. Chucked most of them away. Wouldn't go again

Sandwich was lovely could of been cut in half but never mind. Loads of filling.

This takeaway is called red star I call it 5 star it’s that good, would not be out place on ocean rd, it’s the best in South Shields also reasonable priced, obviously the chef is 5 star , David is lovely , well mannered serving , best in south Tyneside by a very long way 🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳

Nice pub. Friendly crowd and top quizmaster. Why not pop in on a Thursday night and find out for yourself?

Very disappointed in this meat feast pizza considering the cost, delivery guy was lovely couldn't fault him and pizza came quickly but just tasted bland, had the tiniest bit of cheese on it...couldnt even see it never mind taste it, all i tasted was bread......just not how I remember the dominoes pizzas to be...😫

Ower new local takeaway the best in the area

Possibly the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. Ordered salt and chilli chips & chicken… turned out to be soggy chips and chewy chicken bites covered in MSG. No chillis to even hint it was salt and chilli, just covered in MSG powder. Egg fried rice was sticky, basically a pile of slop. To top it off, the curry sauce wasn’t even a saviour in this as on the website it’s highlighted as ‘hot’.. it was anything but as it had the sweetest taste ever and just ruined everything 10x over. Food was left and such a waste of money.

Went as a group of ten and the place wasn't busy but customer service was not good. Waited ages for the food to arrive. No apology for the wait and no interaction from the staff with customers. We have been before but won't be returning.

Visited on a whim with a friend after seeing the 3 for £10 cocktail sign outside. An absolutely beautiful interior, very friendly, polite and helpful staff. You can mix and match the cocktails which arrived quickly and high quality. Then after 5pm there is an complimentary cheese board which is amazing and of the highest quality and standard. I do not understand how the place wasn't packed. Cocktail deals and free cheese my idea of heaven. Would highly recommend.

Order from here as we thought we would try somewhere different, the order arrived quickly but items were missing. I rang to request the missing items and the man just kept saying he would send them with our next order, he would not send missing items and his attitude was disgusting. Awful customer service. We then ate what had arrived and unfortunately the chicken was chewing and the garlic naan tasted of fish it was awful. Avoid this take away there are far better ones in South Shields.

Very nice and clean pub didn't eat here so can't comment and very near the beach the only down fall is its a dog friendly pub and once one started barking they all did a bit noisey then but if you've have dogs you will probably be use to it

Went in on a dinner service is rapid so no big cues holding you up as the staff are straight to busy with a friendly smile very help and quick with recommendations for a better meal

I went to Life of Riley on Sunday/Monday morning 4th/5th August 2024. We used to call it Spiker Riley as in the past we have had attempts to spike our drinks. The other night we were there till 02:30 and the security in there were absolutely fantastic. One guy inside spotting any trouble and two guys on the door responding. The guys were professional polite and strong when required.My wife and myself felt totally safe as there is the usual mix of Bumpers on Hairy Mikers night. Excellent work guys.
