The best restaurants in North Tyneside North East

The food was expected for being a buffet style Chinese restaurant but heavily over priced for what it is.

Family friendly chain pub. Good deals on food. Food is ok, nothing special, but it does the job.

We had a lovely family time at The Kings Arms. And it was all thanks to two staff members who went out of their way to find a table for us despite me turning up on a busy Mother’s Day at peak time. This was then followed by the very good service and enjoyable food that you’d hope for. Thank you.

We’ve been here many times over the years and have always found it to be of a good standard. So, with that in mind we booked a table for 6 on my birthday. There was a bit of a wait for the table as it was quite busy, so we didn’t mind. The starters eventually came and were ok…… However, I’m afraid some of the mains bordered on inedible… The 2 sirloin steaks were as tough as old boots, and try as we could, even the steak knives couldn’t cut them. They were returned immediately… however, no replacement was offered…, the waiter did say I wouldn’t be charged for them….not that I would have paid anyway. My wife left most of her salmon pasta…which was a sloppy mess and tasted dreadful. My daughter left most of her pizza too, which also fell into the aforementioned category. My grandson, usually one to eat almost anything, was also defeated this time. I would have questioned the whole bill….but my thought was to put it down to experience and just leave. An experience never to be repeated.

Finally, after trying pretty much everywhere in Whitley bay, the beach house stands out from the crowd. We found all of the servers, particularly the young lady on the till were friendly and polite where professionalism seemed to flow naturally. There's seating inside and out, and it's a great area to sit and people watch. The food and drink is delicious and they cater for vegan and gluten free needs. I found 2 coffees and 2 hot sarnies for less than £19 was also very reasonable. I dare say this will be our new fave place to come.

Very nice decor and fabulous staff cocktails but the foodis average. Definitely recommend for a quick drink and chat.

Battered sausage and black pudding were too well done with being left in the warmer tasted like i got tea times left overs at 7 pm chips were full of eyes and dry and hard crispy bits burnt edges I didn't enjoy at all never had a problem before but this is the second time in a month won't be going back gone right down in my estimation

Popped in with family on a Sunday tea time for drinks. Unfortunately not impressed, not very busy but still managed to be noisy. Worst pint I've had in weeks (left most of it). Bar staff seem to be permanently untrained, given a pint shandy when ordered a half. Sorry to say not improved since my last review.

Great friendly little pub with some good live music on at times, it's called the fish net tavern though 🤣

Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently. The freshness of the ingredients and the unique flavors were unforgettable. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts or just if you want to grab a bite to eat! This was more than just a meal - it was an experience! The staff were amazing and ensured I had a safe and delicious dining experience. Bravo to the team at Scott and Wilson!
