We went for the rapido meal deal. But we're disappointed with the amount of supplement charges.

1st time at Davanti, and it won't be our last, very tasty saliciccia and pollo roma , followed by 2 lovely desserts (great choice), staff were really friendly.

I've eaten here many times and always had excellent customer service, however this time it was not the usual standard. We waited a long time for our meals in comparison to previous visits. We had to get waiters attention when we needed something, whereas normally they would ask if you want dessert menu when clearing plates away. The good was very good as usual, but we were suprised to see we were charged for extra gravy and horseradish sauce. I can understand the charge for gravy even though we have not been charged in the past. But horseradish to accompany the roast beef seemed a little bit steep.

What do I say ? think my star ratings say it all .one of the best places to eat xxx

Absolutely delicious food, super quick service

To the establishment owners, I'm writing to express my disappointment with my recent visit. The overpowering smell of fresh paint was quite off-putting, and the noise from the construction work, with workers drilling right next to us, was very disruptive. I actually felt unwell from the paint fumes afterwards. It really would have been better to close during the refurbishment - it felt like a lack of common sense and just pure greed on the owners' part. The service was average at best, and the older gentleman serving us wasn't particularly friendly. The food was decent, and the visit would have been fine if not for these other issues.

Nice location with parking outside in the car park which is shared with many other shops. Food - shared garlic breads (1 x tomato & 1 x cheese). Mains we ordered the sausage pasta but this is where it drops a star, the pasta was in quite a tall ball but the sausage came whole and wasn’t easy to cut. Portions were big so could even get away with just a main if not really hungry Staff - were great and were a good laugh if you wanted that Recommended

Amazing meal out with the family during our stay in Whitley bay! Excellent food can’t be faulted. Amazing service from Fotis couldn’t thank him enough for catering for our 2 year olds dairy allergy. Would recommend!

Really enjoyed the food here. Excellent quality and huge portions. I had to be rolled out of the door. Service was quick and very friendly. Would definitely come back. We were in a group of 12 and everyone was seen to quickly. Nobody was left waiting for their food for very long.

Simply dreadful. I asked for gluten free pasta and was served unknowingly , full wheat pasta. I was ill for 3 months following this (including hospitalisation). The venue have taken no responsibility apart from offering me a free meal ! Incredible, just shows how utterly lacking in any insight they have. I am posting this in the hope that no one else will suffer as i have.

A lovely warm welcome on arrival,staff very inter active ,didn't hustle and bustle you whilst looking at the menu..There was 4 adults and a child..starters were plenty and very fresh...The Sunday lunch was cooked beautiful,,plenty of meat and lovely vegetables,,very filling with large quantities...very nice

Fantastic! Made a last minute booking 45 minutes before we wanted to arrive as a party of 8 and was easily accommodated. Staff were very friendly and quick, food was served after 5 minutes! Food was hot and delicious. 10/10

Menu here is very misleading and not sure if legal. Ordered a Chicken Kiev from menus, which stated that it came with salad AND chips OR vegetables,which means it comes with salad as standard, then with either chips OR vegetables in my opinion, but was told by waiter on two separate occasions that it was a mistake in the menu and that the salad came as a paid extra. Very very misleading. Won't go here again. Older waiter with glasses very grumpy too. Thought good service came with a smile.

My family and I went here for lunch on Mothers Day. The food was excellent, plenty of choice. Staff very friendly. Good value. Will definitely be back.

Don't go to this restaurant if you like service with a smile. The Italian food is usually ok and the portions are big. Visited on a Sunday in Feb, looking forward to Sunday lunch. They don't serve it until 8 as advertised on the website. They don't even serve it at 5pm! Ordered Italian meals and they weren't up to standard. The waiters were even more grumpy and miserable than usual too. It's a shame as we usually like this place.

Absolute treasure of a find. Everything is skillfully freshly prepared in full view. The service is attentive without being intrusive. The menu is extensive and the food exquisite. Love it!

Ordered 2 pizzas off just eat arrived stone cold and both pizzas smashed, called restaurant spoke to manger who refused to replace them, and said had to request refund on just eat, absoulte disgusting service 35 quid for 2 smashed, cold, and black pizzas is pathetic, save your money and avoid them they clearly don't know what customer service is !!!!!

The food is generally just out of this world. Especially the steak in the garlic butter sauce & the Sunday dinners, but it's annoying because the food is usually just so amazing & tasty but the staff are sadly so so miserable. You feel like absolutely anything you ever ask for or anything that you order, you being made to feel you are putting them out of their way because their faces trip them constantly. It's been the same staff for absolute years, older grumpy Italian men. Why not get some new staff in the door who are more upbeat & actually happy to see you?.... We are regular customers & spend quite a bit when we go in to dine, getting king prawns, steak.. etc. And they never say "ahhh welcome back, nice to see you!" type of thing. Never. Just always kind of grumbled at & always greeted with a grumpy face. We had booked a table & the older one with the black dark hair was rolling his eyes at us. Then he was doing exercises behind the bar at one point.... not a very good look for the restaurant. Also, who puts cress on a cake? There was sprinkles of cress all over our chocolate fudge cake.... That's the only bad thing I have to say about the food. If you want good Italian food, Divanti Whitley lodge is great. But it is extremely off putting when the staff are just so grumpy & they never appreciate you being a regular customer.

I went with friends for the 2nd time for lunch. It was a late birthday treat for me which was paid for by a friend. It was a 2 course special for just under £12 each with a dessert costing £3. had potato skins, salmon pasta, with a side of garlic bread which counted as a starter since my other 2 friends shared a starter. The garlic bread was fab. For pudding I had a generous portion of Tiramisu which I really enjoy. If I had the opportunity to return I would.

First time here but not the last. Food was exceptional. Atmosphere and service was brilliant. Will defo return. Loved the authentic team of waiters and the view into the kitchen. Two started, two mains (one steak), two glasses of wine, two beers and a coke for under £80. Really good value for the quality of food.

We've eaten here many times, it is just round the corner from our home, and it has always been excellent. However we had never been for a Sunday roast. So today we have, and, oh my goodness, we wish we'd been before! We both had the roast beef and it was delicious, melted in your mouth. The Yorkshire pud was huge and homemade, veg beautifully cooked, and plenty of everything. The staff were lovely (as usual). We will definitely be back again on a Sunday and highly recommend it.

Using this platform in hope this review helps change the one thing that really lets this place down and thats the over salting of some of the dishes especially the seafood and seafood pasta. Maybe as many salt the seafood/pasta and sauce and these 3 seperate things put together is MASSIVELY overpowering. 3 times visited over 3 years and same every time. Wonderful otherwise. Easy fix!!

Love dining here...had a great night for my 11 year old sons birthday. Staff bent over backwards to make it special for him...a massive thankyou. Food amazing....so reasonable....everyone loved their food. Will be back soon.

Me and my husband went for a meal here for our 12th wedding anniversary and it was absolutely amazing!!! I would highly recommend this place!!! The food was fantastic, the restaurant itself had such a wonderful atmosphere and the staff were very friendly, thankyou for a lovely evening Davanti!!!!

The website says they close at 10pm. I walked 40 minutes to get there before 9pm and they were just closing. Can’t be trusted.

Abosloutly amazing, we we walked in and straight away, we got sat down after about 10 minutes, our drinks were here. Then we ordered two sets of potato skins for the six of us, perfect portion. Then we ordered three pastas, one chicken and two pizzas ( carbonara recommended ). The portion was enough for some left over the next day unless your starving. This was a prefect, clean, fancy atmosphere. Def coming back again!!

We arrived for an early Sunday lunch at this out of the way restaurant and weren’t too sure what we letting ourselves in for because the area doesn’t look too promising but as soon as we walked our fears were washed away. The decor is fun , we were treated to polite efficient service throughout our time here. We were a party of 10 and ordered a mixture of Sunday roasts and true Italian dishes. The food was fresh, hot and plentiful. The Yorkshires were homemade and massive. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We left feeling satisfied. I’d definitely recommend for small or large parties. A great find

Unfortunately and for the 1st time in many years of visiting, food was not good, had pizza pollo and chicken was hard with grizzly bits and cheese was strange tasting and clumped on, really disappointed as we have never had a bad meal there yet

Visited here for the first time for Sunday lunch with my partner and two young kids. What a find, a fantastic restaurant, great service and amazing food. The beef on the Sunday dinner was to die for. And the pizzas were on another level. We will definitely be back, one of the nicest meals I’ve had out in a long time!

Great selection of food, speedy service and friendly atmosphere. Good kids options. Plenty of desserts to choose from. Not too pricey. We always like a booth as easier for the kids but plenty of seating options. It had surprisingly good music on with some retro classics. The kids always want to go back which is a good sign, they enjoy colouring in the kids menu and get sweets after. Can takeout any leftovers, happy to box up. We'll be back.

This evening was our first time at Davanti, but definitely won't be our last. Service, great. I like the fact that things were anticipated before asking. Food delicious, really enjoyed good seafood and pork tomahawk. Staff friendly and efficient. Chow for now.

The food was great. We all had different things and all were very good. One of the waiters was rather abrupt and needs to work on their customer service skills. Other than that everything was good.

Really fresh tasting, delicious, hearty food. We opted for a pizza and a chicken kiev. The flavours were amazing. Highly recommended.

Arrived early for the cheaper 2 course option for lunch . The muscles starter was amazing and plenty of it . Pizza main was just as good and was a decent size . No small portions . 💯 recommend. Can't wait to go back .

I ate here with my family recently. We hadn’t booked as was mid week, and had to wait about 20mins for a table. We ordered food, bolognaise pasta from the children’s menu for my toddlers and a carbonara pasta and pepperoni pizza for the adults to go half and half. After a while, a waiter came over to inform us there was no pepperoni pizzas left so we would have to choose something else. We asked for margarita pizza as it was to share a little with my children too. When the food arrived, the children’s pasta was very al dente, and they would not eat it. Tbf I would not eat it that firm. The carbonara was luke warm at best, and the pizza was covered in sausage meat which we didn’t ask for. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere but the food was not great. We probably would not visit again.

Went for Sunday lunch, not what it used to be. Chicken was dry, roast potatoes where hard and over cooked like munching down on a brick and to top it off found a hair in my mash potato which staff said it must be my hair even thought I’m blonde and the hair was dark brown!

The food was fantastic and the sauces are cooked to perfection . They do a starter and a main in a meal deal and can’t complain at all what we paid . Highly recommend.

We had a lovely group meal here, with excellent food (especially the seafood) and drinks. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We did have to wait a while for a booked table, however the food was well worth the wait.

I booked online in February. Table of 6 booked for 7.45. I received an email asking if 8pm was convenient. I replied. A few days before I was passing so I called in to double check. No record of the booking, they checked their 3 systems!!! Diary, A4 sheet and tablet. And they then told me they were fully booked. Funnily enough (or not) 1 couple in our party had the same problem with them when they booked in a large party for their daughter's birthday. We wont be going again. Last time we went our party of 4 were the only customers and they still got our order wrong.

Haven't been for a few years although got delivery during COVID. Even better then remembered. Food excellent and lunchtime special so good value for money. Definitely going to be a regular again. New lovely surroundings.

What a fantastic gem! Let’s start with the interior: Well finished with comfy seats, great lighting and some great decoration. It’s really sets off the ambience of your experience here. Service: Friendly, polite staff who are very attentive and make the whole experience a really enjoyable one! Prompt drinks and food served with a smile too! Food: Mouthwatering sums it up in one word. You’ll notice the smells as soon as you walk in the door and your sure to have a hard time to decide which dish you commit to having - they’re all that good. I went with Oceano with Linguine and it was unbelievably fresh with an abundance of high quality seafood. Will definitely be returning as soon as I possibly can! Highly recommended.

£85 per head of Christmas Disaster. Arrived, as booked, for 14.30 left after4 hours of waiting, pushing and the Manager saying frequently"its coming" When we arrived our booking was not registered and our £40 deposit had been lost ? We had to re-order all courses....

Terrible food decided to go this evening f tea time with the family. Food so poor we ordered pasta with Italian dosage all of the bacon was stuck together and I chopped large bits of sausage inside pasta just cooked- very poor show. Last time...
