The best restaurants in Newcastle upon Tyne North East

We called on an afternoon, after lunchtime and before dinner. The restaurant was less than empty so we didn’t expect to have to wait too long. We were seated fairly quickly near the door. We were handed menus and we waited for the waiter to take our drink order. And waited. We chose our food, and still we waited. As we waited a group of 7 came in, seated straight away across the restaurant. They had their drinks order taken. And still we waited. I didn’t feel like I wanted to shouallowed an off day but when you mention it to the maitre de and are met with poor response that’s when you know they aren’t bothe

For starters I ordered potato skins which were lovely and you got garlic sauce with them, but I would have preferred BBQ sauce. Then for my main I ordered the Funghi Parmo but I was really disappointed with it. Too much cheese for my liking and it was tasteless. The service was good and quick!!

I really love the pad thai in here. This is the best I’ve ever eaten in Newcastle.

Family fave when we are craving for authentic italian and they are halal (also alcohol free!) The ragu for the spaghetti bolognese is too good to pass up. We went for sunday roast as well and it was delicious! Friendly staff, and food served pretty quick.

Lovely dog friendly pub! I visited yesterday with my family and 2 pups. We all had the roast beef dinner. It was absolutely delicious! This was our first visit and we were very impressed. Large portion size and a really good variety of veg. Roast potatoes were 10 out of 10! Meat cooked perfectly too and I could of just drank a jug of that gravy on its own. Yum! The staff were so lovely and really looked after us and our pups. We are looking forward to coming back :)

Food was very lovely. Really enjoyed the chilli chicken noodle box & chicken tikka madras + steamed rice. Great staff and service really pleased.

Reservé Bealim House para una jubilación después de la celebración del trabajo. Tenía un área reservada que era exactamente adecuado para la cantidad de gente que vino. El personal era educado y muy eficiente. Sin duda recomendaría este lugar.

This place has everything. Great atmosphere, inside and outside and excellent food.

Me and 3 friends popped in b4 we went onto Newcastle Town. We all had great meals and all said it was the meals we has for years. Good service and beautiful food. I totally recommend this pub to anyone out of town

Had a great dinner for 10 people here last night and have to say the food and service was unmatched! They also dealt with a nut allergy very well! Will definitely come again, thanks for having us.

A lovely find when I was staying in Jesmond recently. I'm not a vegan but I very much feel that vegan beer ought to be more widely available (finings only make the stuff look nice) and the ales on offer prove the point very nicely. A nice collection of board-games, tasteful music at a reasonable volume, friendly locals and staff all add up to a calm and cosy atmosphere. This is the kind of pub where I could happily sit and read a book all day. A very pleasant experience.
