Good Sunday dinner served by attentive staff

Really good vibe, warm staff and atmosphere, great selection of pints, and though I didn't have the Sunday lunch, it looked lush

Unfortunately I didn't get photographs of the food but can confirm that it was of excellent quality and enjoyed by all. A small, traditional English pub with great staff, lovely atmosphere and excellent food. Loved all the dishes that we chose and went back another couple of times while staying in the area. Def recommend the Chicken & Halloumi skewers and also the fresh homemade chips. 🥰

It'a a pub. It smelt, felt, and dealt like one. They were playing the 1975's first album when i walked in, which was confusing.

Brilliant time at the Vic on NYE. The service from the man with the flowery shirt was impeccable as always; charming lad he was so very helpful, I had the cheese savoury sandwich and it was the best thing I've ever eaten, would definitely recommend for the scran and the crack belter little boozer

I visit the Victory occasionally when visiting a friend in South Gosforth. It's a lovely pub, by far the best around there and the menu is always different from your normal pub food. The girls who run the place are lovely. However, we visited recently to be met be a rude, unhelpful, smartarse, bolshi, barman who made us feel very uncomfortable when ordering. The menu had obviously changed from our previous visit and the response to every question was to return the menu. Eventually the question came asking if we could read. I somehow don't think that kind of behaviour would have happened had our husbands been with us. There was only a handful of people in and we wondered if the two were connected?

Very friendly - I live close by for 10 years but it's my first time visited. Don't know why I did go there last years but certainly I would love to go from now on.

Always love it in here. The staff are really friendly and the service is excellent. The food is always tasty when we eat here and the beer is well kept too.

Sorry to say, lovely lady hosts, but sooo disappointed. We have eaten here before for sunday lunch and have enjoyed it but not today sadly, tinned carrots, cool veg and potatoes, beef? I can only think processed, the whole meal tepid. Will go for drinks but sorry no more Sunday lunch. Your roast beef used to be delicious. Clearly you must have changed supplies

Classic pub for standard level expectations. Pros, the easy parking and tables outside. Staff is polite and willing to support.

A really great pub. Well worth a visit. Friendly staff, a nice selection of ales, music and quiz nights. Very popular for meals, especially Sunday lunch so I advise you reserve a table or go early. Their food is fresh and delicious. Tried their spicy Italian flatbread pizza recently, and it was fantastic.

Food was good, and plenty of it. Service good. The only bug bear was the loud music, we found it hard to hold a conversation. We did ask to have it turned down, which they eventually did, but it was still difficult, for my mum of 89 to hear us talking.

Lovely little boozer to stop in on with great outdoor seating to watch the world go by.

On the off chance when passing me and my family went into The Victory pub for some lunch. The food was fleshly cooked and really tasty - It did take slightly longer to come out because it was being freshly made which we didn't mind, was worth the wait! The staff were really child friendly and couldn't do enough when waiting on us. You can also take your dog in. We will definitely be returning, Quality little find.

Location is very close to Freeman Hospital Newcastle. Lovely friendly pub. Freshly cooked to order food. Car park is not massive.

I go to the victory often, the food is always top notch, they serve a good pint, the staff are super friendly and it's a canny little pub to sit, relax have a pint and a bit scran. It's also dog friendly so ticks all the box's for me. Keep up the good work Victory.

Great traditional pub, smart and well run with excellent food and a good range of drinks.

Went for Sunday Lunch, ordered Beef which was thick cut and tough, could hardly cut it. The few vegetables served separately were undercooked and hard, won’t be going back!

Nice place for a beer, better if its sunny one! The tables outside are the best place to sit, unfortunately I could never try the food.

Great experience, first time at this location. Very welcoming staff, well kept bar areas even had blankets for customers feeling the chill! Prices very reasonable for the area and close to bus and metro routes.

The kitchen lost the ticket so had to wait over an hour for main courses, when they eventually arrived the lasagna had barely any sauce. When I mentioned this there was no response. We were offered a free soft drink and desert. My objection is that 4 different staff saw us sitting waiting and not one asked even when they did realise there was still a long wait, it is a shame because this pub used to be really good and reasonably priced 4 mains and soft drinks £63 will probably not return.

Best chicken parmo and Cajun chicken burger I’ve ever tasted. Chunky home made Chips are lovely, washed down with a nice pint of Heineken. Service is bang on as well 👍🏼

This is a lovely pub, the staff were so friendly and helpful, we stopped by for Sunday dinner and will certainly be stopping by more often, the dinner was to die for, everything cooked perfectly and service with a smile. I don't know why we left it so long to visit this lovely pub.

Nice decor with comfy seating. Good selection of gins, wines, spirits and beers/ciders. Loved the seating area out front which is great if you're nosey like me and like watching people go passed 😂

I am a frequent visitor to The Victory but unfortunately on two occasions I've had to bring to the attention of staff the foul language of some of their customers, I myself had to approach four guys using very offensive language and ask them to consider other customers Staff and management really need to address this I have spent a lot of my career in catering and the licenced trade and I'm glad to say this would not be tolerated Come on Victory why let them lower the tone of what should be a pleasant place to be

Probably the best pork belly Sunday dinner I’ve had. Went as a family, there is only a Sunday dinner menu, and some fish options, which wasn’t the best for my daughter as she doesn’t like Sunday dinner and is allergic to fish. But the food is amazing! All fresh and cooked perfectly. I had the pork belly and it was perfect!! But the rest had chicken, beef and lamb and all were lovely! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

As good a local pub restaurant as you could find. Always busy as the food is so good, which says it all. Shouldn't really post this, as you'll ALL want come and we might not get in !!!!!!

First time visiting this pub. Busy but we managed to get a table after ordering our drinks. Nice pints would visit here again in the future.

New year's eve about 17 30 with a couple of friends and the doggie, staff great service great have not been there for a couple of years if not more but will definately be going back

A pub that has been opened and closed a few times over the years. They may have got it right this time. Has been given a good refurb since we were in last, 3 / 4yrs ago. Worth trying if you've have never been in and worth trying again if you haven't been for a long time.

Waited a long time to be served, and got a pretty cold reception when we did. Cramped conditions and not a great selection of beer. Customers pushed in and staff didn't seem to care. Not a great first impression.

Wife had steak and she said that it was worth it.

Went for roast dinner, tasty but only got 2 roasties! Also they were out of sticky toffee pudding for afters!

Havn’t been here for years. Called to see if had a 2pm table, no problem, reserved, nice corner of the pub. As a trio that go out for lunch most Sundays, we normally avoid the Traditional Sunday Lunch as two of us are non meat eaters, ok, stinking self righteous tree huggers. The meat eater decided she wanted a Sunday Lunch and as it was a late decision, the normal places were booked and thought we’d give it a try. The place is great, service great, the veg, Mash, Roasties (although stingy on amount of) we’re all great, as was my other half’s beef. Starters were lovely also, shared a pita bread dip / olives platter which was nice. The only problem with gone whe experience was the vegetarian sausages in gravy. They were actually tasteless and texture’less and the gravy straight out a a maggi tub. In this day and age with a massive increase in People choosing not to eat meat, a rise of 17% in just the last few years, anywhere selling food needs to seriously look at its veggie options. Don’t care if there is only one on a Sunday Lunch Menu…. But at least make it a good one.

Can't get parked and sitting outside looking at mad traffic

Table for 6 on a Friday night - they'd ran out of some of the pies and full size chips (i.e. only had fries available) when we went (which was only at 7pm) but it's more of a classic pub that also does food than a gastro-type pub, so not a big issue. Food was solid pub grub with good portion sizes. Good selection of beers/ales. Friendly staff.

Great little pub close to our house. Excellent selection of ales and beautiful homemade food (even if some of our orders weren't available - just goes to show how popular it is!). A fantastic place, well worth a visit. We will definitely be back.
