The best restaurants in Newcastle upon Tyne North East

We had a family meal at cook house yesterday and the service was lovely and friendly, what food we had was nice. But the price was ridiculous for the serving size. An £12 chicken salad was a plate of lettuce with about four shreds of chicken (not even half a breast) and a drizzle of dressing. The small plates are hugely overpriced for the size. £12 for a slice of focaccia and a few mushrooms, £9 for a small slice of bitter cheesecake. While staff were lovely and there’s a nice atmosphere it’s definitely more about being a bit pretentious than value for money!

We went last Monday to celebrate my husband birthday, we had an amazing time there, delicious food, excellent staff and very nice place to share this moment. 100% recommended. Thanks

This used to be my favourite bubble tea place where I would frequently come to visit. However, the past couple of times, I have been left very disappointed. The quality of especially the taro milk tea seems to have gone down hill-it doesn't taste nice anymore. However, there are no faults in the fruit teas.

recently worked here at a 120th year birthday! Joint 60th!! Enjoyed the ambience, old school poster collection, brew some mean brews, nostalgic visit.

A lovely Afro-Caribbean-inspired setting, complemented by vibrant Afrobeats playing throughout, making a perfect Nigerian scenery for me. The lady at the reception was exceptionally helpful, both over the phone and in person. The portion sizes exceeded my expectations, leaving us all more than satisfied. The Jollof rice was excellent, the Isiewu was a perfect 10/10, and the Nkwobi was equally a 10. Having visited twice now, I can confidently say that the one-hour drive was well worth it.

Absolutely amazing food, I got the pork belly and it was incredible. Service was quick and waiters were friendly. Bigger menu than expected there's plenty to choose from, will be coming back, would highly recommend.

Unfortunately the pizza was poor, it was barely cooked and just very stodgy. Very little cheese also. Expensive meal for which we both didn’t really enjoy. The service was also cold - baring in mind this was a very quiet evening you cannot blame it on them being too busy. As such we won’t be coming again, better pizza restaurants out there.

Great location and friendly staff

Brilliant coffee and great location. In particular love the decor and buzzy atmosphere. Always seem to get a seat too. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting high quality coffee in the city centre.

Great food, large portions, and reasonable prices! I usually go for a wrap, and when I pop by to collect it's always great to see the flatbreads being made fresh as I wait. Always a bit of a gamble to try new kebab/schwarma places, but this place has become my go-to! Just remember that if ordering online, use their own website, not Just Eat or the others - it'll be cheaper and is usually quicker!

Just heard that Vinny’s which was the fantastic Italian pop up at Patricia is no more! Gutted as it was one of the best Italian restaurants out there! Visited multiple times and always had great meals! I hope whatever they’ve got planned is just as good!

A perfect spot to come to for coffee and/or lunch. We come here regularly and always have a lovely time. Such friendly staff who always make us feel welcome. Thanks for being so great!
