We went here because it is the nearest restaurant to The Globe music venue (and the Arena), and we wanted a quick and simple meal before going to a gig.
The meal was neither quick nor simple but I'm giving Alsham a five star review because the food was so good. The reason it took a while to come is because everything is freshly prepared ... and you could really taste that. We had four vegetarian dishes and each one was bursting with flavour.
No alcohol is served but there is an excellent range of freshly made fruit juices.
It was a warm evening and we sat outside (a rare opportunity in Newcastle) in a traffic-free street (also rare).
We will definitely eat there again.
This wasn’t my first time coming and was my suggestion for the family, so always gives you some nerves however they lived up to my high expectations I had from previous visits. We came as a group of 14 celebrating my sisters graduation. We all pre ordered due to the size of the group and not a single error was made along with a bunch of allergies catered to. There was a wide range of food ordered from seafood boil, pasta dishes to steak or lamb! Every single one of us loved the food and the quality was incredible along with the portion sizes gave you amazing value for money! Hawa and all the staff could not have done any more for us. The ladies serving us were amazing, polite, attentive and quick with service yet never once felt rushed. Each person can’t wait to come back for more! Thank you so much and I can’t wait to come back yet again!

The lamb skewers were the highlight. The char, the tenderness, the simple seasoning, they were divine.
The hand-pulled noodles, was about average, which might be due expecting it to be more spicy.
The lamb Manti, while I appreciate its authenticity, was a bit too meaty and bland for my palate.
The hot chicken stew, was a comforting and substantial meal, perfect for a group when you include naan.
Staff were very friendly, place was clean and comfortable.
Parking on street is available, might be a but busier during the day.
Took my daughter along for a treat over the Easter break. Fab ice cream - I had the Turkish Delight, my daughter the Oreo Cookie - both very very special!

Very nice food, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. We had the option of the main menu or the lunch menu. There is also the option to alter the dishes you have to your choosing. My wife also had a dessert (sticky toffee pudding) which unfortunately had a hard base. We weren’t too fussed and she ate all the soft parts, when the dish went back the chef apologised and took the price off our bill. Could not recommend this restaurant enough.
