The entertainment was very good, staff were lovely and communicated with us all throughout our stay. The food was also amazing, very delicious. I absolutely loved it here!

Just been here tonight .. I’d seen it and wanted to go for a few weeks.. by god I’m so glad I did!.. This is the most delicious meal I’ve had in a while!!👌🏻 I do go out often for food .. so seen this newish Seafood/ Caribbean in Newcastle and couldn’t wait to try. We had spicy wings and prawns for starters/ the seafood pot and cheese and chips.. my god they were all to die for!! I will be back.. 😊

Only regret is not ordering more food! The food was so lovely but very messy! Take baby wipes and a bib if you're having the seafood boil which I would recommend. I had seafood boil which the kids hijacked, they were literally sucking on the shells and dipping their food into the sauce. We looked like absolute cave people tearing the food apart, we demolished it in record time. My partner had steak and said it was one of the best he had ever had. We were pleasantly surprised with the bill total and will most definitely be visiting again very soon!

Wow I loved every minute of this restraunt. The vibes, the atmosphere, the staff but mostly the food. I'm in love. Just everything you expect and even more. The flavours the tenderness. We had the ribeye and it was so tender and juicy. The tiger prawns were like a piece of steak. Massive in size, tasty as 👌 nom nom. I would come back over an over and marry the chef 100%

When we got there it was early so we had the whole place to ourselves, we ordered the rack of lamb chops,jumbo King prawns and the large sea food boil all I can say is the food was amazing and cooked perfectly 👌 can't wait to go again. The staff are lovely people.

First time trying afro carribean food restaurant out. I had chilli prawn linguine, tasty prawns were fresh. Just the right amount of chilli for taste. My daughter had the seafood boil pot for one, she said it was lovely. Recommend this place for seafood lovers.

Some of the best food i have ever tasted. Me and the wife came and i can honestly say the food and service were out of this world. We had seafood boil and garlic prawns with rice. The flavour was incredible and was extremely good value fo money considering the amount of shellfish included. We were the last customers in the restaurant but did not feel like we were a burden. Great family atmosphere. Can hand on heart say we will soon be back.

Little independent place, with a small menu but fabulous ingredients beautifully cooked and presented - really, really good. One grumble (hence not giving 5/5) was they didn’t have any of the wines on the list and the only red wine option was a bottle of Hardy’s. Need to get the quality of the wine up to match the quality of the food and then they’ve cracked it.

This is the most amazing place for food! Absolutely everything was delicious and priced amazingly, the cocktails were also delicious. The restaurant in itself is very clean and the staff are really kind and amazing. 10000/10 definitely gave a good tip and will be back again soon!!❤️❤️❤️

From start to finish the service was amazing , all staff very polite and welcoming, Me and my partners first time eating at Native Cave and we had the best experience, The cocktails we had were lovely, We had sticky bbq wings to start they were so delicious we then shared the seafood boil which was outstanding we both enjoyed the food drinks and service provided so much we will definitely be coming again 12/10

My family and I had high expectations for this restaurant given the high reviews but unfortunately left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. Food was nice but service was sadly, a let down. We came in as a party of 11 people at 6:30pm on a busy Saturday night however the restaurant knew we were coming due to booking in advance and pre-ordering our meals. It is quite a small venue and when we arrived the tables were not reserved and ready to sit 11 of us so we had to wait a little bit for people to finish their food and leave before we got seated as a group. There was also a lack of drinks available (alcoholic and non alcoholic). I thought there would have been a good stock of drinks for a Saturday night service. I forgot to take a photo of the menu to upload however a new, updated menu needs to be made. The Seafood Boil being £50, not £30 as advertised online was quite a hefty difference and were a bit shocked by that. As noted earlier we pre-booked our meals however the kitchen were unorganised and got confused even though they had a few days in advance to prepare for the busy evening. The waitress kept coming to double check what orders were placed and we still found ourself needing to request food even though requests were placed ahead of time. Had this not been done, one of the members of our party would not have had a meal that evening. Due to this, it took quite a while for meals to come out, everything came out very sporadically and it took us quite a while to get cutlery at times. I’m not sure why the cutlery was not the first thing that was given to us. We did not leave the restaurant until 08:50pm - we left shortly after we finished our food so our service from entering through the door to finishing our food due to how long it took to come out lasted about 2 hours 20 minutes which was a bit unexpected. Probably would be a good location for dining if a smaller group but I don’t think they were ready to facilitate for such a large group yet.

Myself and my friend came here on a Friday night the other week as a part of the snap saver deal which shows on the website that Friday is a day that includes the 50% offer. We arrived and were sat right at the entrance of the door, and me and my friend had to sit next to each other instead of across the table tucked in to a corner. I made them aware that I had the snap saver app and was told that no they don’t do this anymore even though they had promoted this on their social media the week before too. My friend asked for a white wine and was told they didn’t have that one or another one that she asked for. We decided on the £30 seafood boil and they replied they only had the £50 one which was enough for four people? But there was only the 2 of us. So we just agreed and thought we won’t get any starters. We waited ages in between drinks, ordering food, food coming out, asking for the bill. The manager did come out and apologise for the Snap Saver and did offer us 25% off the bill. Finally the food did come out and it was lovely but definitely not worth £50. We could see the frustrations of the people around us who were waiting on their food too, the table next to us one of their mains came out before any of the starters and the rest of the mains and they had to wait half an hour for finally the starters to come. The worst was when the man next to us dropped his fork on the floor and the waitress just picked it up and put it back on his table…We asked for a bottle of the Rose to share which was £21 and out came a £5 bottle of Echo Falls Rose. We asked for our bill which came out with no discount added which we then had to make them aware. The food was nice, but definitely not worth the price and the service just was a nightmare. We walked out in disbelief and couldn’t believe we had just witnessed that.

Dined in and it was amazing. My friend and I enjoyed every bit of it especially the rack of Lamb Keep it up

Great food, very good flavours.. we went at opening time of 16:00 . But drinks served while waiting for food. Excellent service.

Wow! This place is literally a hidden gem!! The food was absolutely amazing, the best sea food boil i’ve had, absolutely packed with flavour and mouth watering!! The passion fruit martini was unreal and I could of easily had 100 of them haha! Staff were amazing and so friendly too! I’ll 1000% be coming back and recommending this place to everyone!!!

I've been to worse restaurants but never a restaurant which gives you your cutlery 15mins after they've served your meal. We came here for there £30 seafood boil which to my surprise was £50, but we were hear so bit the bullet and ordered it anyway, I felt like I'd been hit by a bullet when it arrived. It consisted of a lobster which hadn't hit puberty mussels so small and shrivelled they resembled raisings, crab legs which so skinny they were bereft of any actual meat and tiger prawns which tbf weren't bad oh aye and 2 new tettys and a quarter of a corn on the cob. I shall not be frequenting this establishment again.

The jollof rice at native cave was hands-down the best I've ever had! So flavorful and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice. We also loved the grilled plantains and the spicy suya. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the whole experience even better. Also had a nice variety of cocktails. We'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!"

My wife and I are new to the Newcastle area and we stumbled upon this place when our intended restaurant was closed. Absolutely magnificent food. The owner and her husband mentioned that they had just recently opened and I certainly hope they do well. The food is the best we've had in Newcastle, literally astonishing. Could not recommend more highly. Service is great and it's fabulous to have some cuisine with an African or Caribbean flair to it. We have loved everything about our experience both times we've been. The service is quick, the drinks are great, the ambiance is splendid, and the food is literally out of this world. Patronize the place once and you will return! It's phenomenal.

This is a real hidden gem. Was craving some good seafood and this place did not disappoint. The seasoning and flavouring was spot on. Jerk chicken wings, Jollof rice, lobster tail, tiger prawns. This prawns were MASSIVE. Definitely going back. Deserves more attention!

I visited native cave for the first time with friends who have previously been , I was not disappointed, the food was amazing , nothing was to much trouble I ordered salmon and asked for a different sauce and the chef did that for me . You can see the passion and hard work that goes into the food , as a chef myself it’s very nice to see other chefs with passion . The food was very nice and the atmosphere was amazing , il definitely be returning

On a short visit to Newcastle, I came across a stylish, clean and eye grabbing restaurant/bar. The window advertising some menu dishes that I love. I had to check if they were open (they were closing but to my luck the lovely people inside were welcoming me to go in) the lady behind bar asked what I was after and I mentioned the Crab and Prawn Linguine. Said they just finishing last orders so she'd put one in for me. Even with being out of crab, she added a couple prawns it's place. And oh my goodness. Once at my hotel, the portion was perfection and it was hot and tasteful. I would definetly visit again.

Seafood boil ent worth price. Pictures misleading as it looks bigger in picture. Jellof rice tasted weird and got brought out before the rest of food so rice was cold by time rest of food was brung out. 90+ quid was spent for 5 people and we wur still hungry after leaving. Then spent 10-12 quid for what we thought was different cuts of meat, was littrally 5 pieces of beef jerky

Hawa and Ola are a great team.All orders are made from scratch and thefore fresh and tasty.Hawa is very accommodating and makes sure each patron is catered for individually. A true Jewel in Newcastle. I recommend the Seafood Boil.Dont forget to tip as Service is not included but throughly deserved.

I was on a short break at Newcastle staying at the Hilton by the Tyne river which makes the restaurant a close by visit having a selections of meals with Jollof rice and beef skewer(suya) popular with my diverse friends including my wife. We enjoyed the fine dinning in a clean and tidy settings with music that goes with the ambiance. I would recommend the fine dinning experience, and can't wait to be back for the yum yum food.

First time at Native Cave and it was lovely! Ordered seafood boil and rack of lamp. It was delicious, full of flavour. I’d like to try some other items on the menu The staff were very friendly and even though the restaurant was busy they were attentive. I also got my food pretty quickly too. Well worth a visit and I’ll definitely be back!
