The best restaurants in Newcastle upon Tyne North East

Called in today when passing as was starving. Must say best decision of the day. Got the Yorkie wrap with roasties and it was bloody lovely, only £4.50 aswell. Tue homemade cheesecake looked lovely. The 2 girls serving were nice and polite. Defo be back when next in area.

Everything was so fabulous, food, services, atmosphere, ambiance, friendly staff. Very satisfied with everything, will surely come again. :)

Well, where do I start!! I often go to this area to eat, I'd never heard of this place until my daughter and Son in law invited me for breakfast today. It's quite typical and fitting with its location. As I say, I've visited other eateries in the area. This place delivered on all fronts. A warm and friendly welcome, very efficient service (it's quite small, so you only get in if you're lucky enough to arrive at the right time). The breakfast lived up to the billing and some!!! I couldn't eat it all as its size outweighed any thing I've ever experienced, I'm sorry I can't reveal the cost because I didn't ask, when I got the bill for the 4 of us I just paid as it was definitely worth whatever they charge. The team of staff didn't disturb us unnecessarily even though there were people waiting for seats. If you're anything like me, you know when it's time to get up and make way for others. I would definitely recommend a visit but make sure your appetite is ready for the feast to come.

An excellent Chefs special was had by all on our table. All the food was really good. Usual selection of beers as you’d expect including alcohol free. Attentive service. It was very busy on the Tuesday early evening which is always a good sign though that also meant it was quite difficult to have a whole table conversation due to background noise where we were sat. There are cubicle areas that are probably better for sound. The poppadoms to start were rather small but the mains were overly generous so more than made up for it!

I have been coming here for over 15 years for our end of season awards night. The staff have always been extremely friendly and courteous and have catered for all needs. The food is excellent, which is why we keep coming back. I would highly recommend for any occasion.

The service was very good and the Peking duck was so authentic. It made me feel like I was back in China for a moment.

Sunday lunch for a birthday and it was a bit of a disappointment. Food not served warm, tepid Sunday roast is not great! I see other reviews mention the same issue with meals, not served warm. The Yorkshire pudding was stone cold, vegetables overcooked and roast potatoes not nice. Requested beef pink and it was served grey. Really expected much better!

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. When I arrived, the employee who greeted me didn’t even bother to communicate properly. She simply led me to a table without saying a word, and then left me waiting there for several minutes without any explanation. Her body language was incredibly rude and unwelcoming, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. Basic courtesy and good service go a long way, but unfortunately, I didn’t experience any of that here. It was a frustrating visit, and I won’t be returning.
