Just had a takeaway breakfast from sketches 😋. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast, will definitely be returning.

What a gem of a shop, top tier scran, lovely workers. Been past here many times on the 62 and have been wanting to try it for ages. Defo a place in my heart, if you fancy a fry-up or sarnie pop along. You won’t be disappointed

This place is what I would say is a hidden gem of Newcastle (even though, its not that hidden being on the front street of Chilingham road) For the past 8 years, since moving to the area, I've been at least once a week for my sausage and egg on garlic bun (literally perfection in sandwich form) I can't recommend this place enough. The customer service is second to none. The girl behind the counter is always chatty and welcoming. They even have the place decorated with art from local artist. So needless to say, if you want to best breakfast sandwich in the city, this is your place.

Me nd my friend have just had a breakfast burrito wasn't very nice at all tasted of nothing microwave scrabbled egg 3 soggy hash browns and 2 bits of bacon which wer fatty had 2 bites of it nd threw it in the bin went to naked deli across the road nice lady cooking it but won't be back

Very good service bacon was a little bit fatty. But the prices and portions were a good size, so we'll be back.

Pop in here quite often for my chicken club wrap, it's lovely and very reasonable priced. The breakfast grub is really nice as well, especially their Full English. Owners are spot on as well, highly recommended.

The type of small business that makes you proud to be northern. Tremendous food for spectacularly reasonable prices, from two of the friendliest hosts in the city - these guys really go the extra mile to make sure your happy. Ordered a breakfast sandwich for myself (bacon, sausage, B.P. and fried egg), the thing was bigger than my head and all the ingredients seemed top quality, especially the bacon which was cooked perfectly with zero flabby unrendered fat, my dad had a ‘big breakfast’ (again ‘big’ being the optimal word), we both had a drink too and the bill was LESS THAN 12 QUID. As someone who’s lived here for 5 years and is very picky with where he eats, I can say with confidence that there is nothing better for the same money in the area. Just top marks all around.

I dont know how I've only just discovered this place but I'm glad I did. Lady behind the counter was a absolute gem, happy as Larry and boy can she make a sandwich 👌🏽 as for the sandwich goes it was top drawer, I got the chicken romana and it was delightful will 100000% be back.

Owned and ran by a lovely couple. The food was great! Only let down was that they didn’t have a proper coffee machine & only instant coffee. If they did then it would of been perfect 👌

My new fav sarny shop breaky burrito first time lush then nacho burrito second time bit spicy but lush can't wait to try Sunday dinner good portion on the burritos and messy but who cares when there that nice🤣 the lady is absolutely mad and outgoing puts a smile on ya face keep it up owners 😋

We have been here a few times now and they even managed to remember our order from our previous visit. Haven’t tried anything else apart from the breakfast burritos as they are amazing! Lovely staff, very chatty and friendly.

Excellent “cooked fresh while you wait” sandwich’s modified by Michelle’s culinary prowess to your own unique specifications! Recommend the Godfather 2 and the big breakfast!! Only down side is you have to Listen to Michelle’s pater. ;-(

The title says it all really :) Sketch's is a lovely place with welcoming staff and the food is great. It's all homemade and you get loads for your money - the breakfast burritos are a thing of beauty. Love this place!

How anyone in their right mind (unless they're from a rival sandwich shop) can give this place less than 5 stars amazes me. - and Ive only had one sarny from here. And it won't be the last. My son in law used to go there when at Uni in Newcastle and every time he comes back he goes here. He bought one for me and the wife and we both thought it fantastic. I'll be popping in again, thats for sure

Great little place to pick up a breakfast sandwich. Very friendly staff and big portions. They do takeaway Sunday lunch which we haven't tried but if their breakfast is anything to go by, should be good and reasonably priced.

Best in the area for a quick and hearty lunch. Service with a smile - staff are super friendly and chatty and always provide a warm welcome. Would recommend Coronation Chicken jacket and Club Chicken Wrap. Good value. Quick service. Tasty.

They do normal food then they do hangover beating monster sandwiches (godfathers). They have got me through some tough mornings... give it a go, you won't regret.

We've popped in here on lots of weekdays as well, but the review relates to their all-day Sunday breakfast options, which are excellent, freshly cooked and massive. Top value breakfast any day of the week, all recommended.

Sketches has been a go to deli for me for quite a few years ( apart for a break of about a year when I didn't like the atmosphere) (as they say - "now under new management" :) )Great range of snack food with large portions always with option to the adjust the ingredients and the occasional special deal. Nice friendly staff and a little seating area to snack on site. Free wifi - (love free wifi)

Nice place for sandwiches. Godfather is good. Its evolved over the years still retains the essential feel it had. Nacho burrito is so large for the money n well tasty. always worth a visit when passing Heaton

Go here all of the time especially on a hangover. Davey is a legend who makes the sandwich always a good laugh and always makes whatever you want. All the meats mean all the meats and all really good quality.

Chillingham Road has many food outlets of varying costs and quality. Sketch's is one of the longest established and serves a dizzying variation of breakfasts, panninis and wraps. Try the Godfather if you are very hungry. Works every time ;)

I purchased a sandwich named "the love child" it was the size and weight of a child and contained 3/4 different meats... It was more than spectacular! The only issue is the seating area inside is minimal and I felt more comfortable taking it home. Never the less it was amazing and I'll definitely go back!

Every time I'm stuck for something for lunch I get some ridiculous combo out of Sketch's, All the sandwiches are freshly made in front of you on a variety of breads and the choice is massive. It's always nice to be able to get your mad New York style subs with loads of pickles and mustard and fresh bread, such a nice change from a Greggs!Everyone in there is always friendly too, they also do soups, salads, noodles and all sorts of cakes. Just canna be beaten for a quick (and satisfying) lunch!

Hot sandwiches cooked to order, great varieties and good quality ingredients. Soup is delicious and home made.Just a bit different from the mainstream.

We have visited Sketches' a couple of times for takeaway breakfast. There is a huge selection to choose from, mainly sandwiches, wraps etc. The food is nice but I agree with another reviewer that the atmosphere is sometimes a bit strange due to staff members. Last time I was in, one member of staff swore quite a lot which I found a bit surprising on a Saturday morning with lots of families around.

Been hearing a lot of things about a new clean eating place in Heaton, I saw some pictures, it all looked nice so I popped down there last week to see if it could live up to the hype.The food definitely did, I was thinking about ordering off the menu until I saw the deli counter which was filled with numerous edible treats. A chirpy member of staff took me through all the food and seemed very knowledgable. The girl then asked an older woman (I'm guessing the manager) about a portion size and the woman snatched the food and started filling my box in a very angry manner. Another customer and I shared a look, they later informed me that they had been in another day and heard the manager screaming from the back of house! Like I said my food was scrummy, but there was a sense of mania about the place, the charming waitresses looked like they were scared out of their wits and the manager looked like she hated the place.... Will give it a month or so before returning, hopefully they'll have cheered up by then!

What user friendly cafe Sketches' Deli Bar is the entire menu is written on blackboards all around the shop walls. We all had different wraps very tasty and try their noodle boxes, recipes from all over South East Asia, and the creme de la creme Yorkshire pudding sandwich, prime roast beef, beer batter onion rings, horseradish creme fraiche,rocket and spinach tossed in French Dressing and served in a homemade Yorkshire pudding £4.20.
