Deli Central in Newcastle upon Tyne

Me and my friends went here for aware lunch both getting a panini and have both suffered from food poisoning since and would not recommend anyone eating here

Use this deli alot. Food always fresh and tastes great. Staff always friendly and chatting with the customers ESPECIALLY Elle always happy. The owner makes a mean chilli and bolognise the only downside she doesn't make it often enough. 5*

Me & my friend were visiting from Glasgow. We ended going here twice in a row for breakfast, food was lovely and staff were so approachable and down to earth. Well done ladies 🥰

Absolutely amazing service... I am the ultimate picky eater (allergies), so my food tends to be fairly bland... Jackie and Co do their best to assist... Today I had an amazing Roast Beef Sandwich, with added coleslaw for a little extra taste... A nice, traditional straight-forward sandwich... (which is a rarity now!) I often arrive not knowing what I would like, searching for inspiration... The staff always help... Great daily specials to keep it varied! Well worth the trip!

From the friendly welcome and service to the delicious food, you get everything top notch from walking in the door to leaving with a smile, a cheerio and a wave. So many favourites I couldn't list them, but their Menu Board does! Great food, prices and portions. Highly recommended.

Had a cheese savoury roll and a tuna panini. Both were lovely and excellent customer service. Very friendly, would highly recommend.

Substantially cheaper than the other sandwich shop 40 feet away called chili peppers. Is it as good? No, but for the price is perfectly acceptable. Cheap and decent food. Looks relatively clean and tidy.

Lovely friendly staff. Massive menu of options. Ended up taking the deli-special of the day, corned beef panini with cheese and raw onions. Delicious. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and want a quick bite. Over £3 for debit card. That was tough! Great quality and price.

Called in for coffee this morning Great selection of teas and coffees to chose from. Fantastic food on display cabinet will try next time Stools inside with breakfast bar as this is very much an upmarket sandwich bar

This is a little gem hidden in the arches of the railway bridges. It sells sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes and salads for lunch, and also does a few bacon and sausage sandwiches in the morning too. I had a great jacket potato, really well cooked, fluffy on the inside, not too hard on the outside. Perfect!

i wouldnt normally trip advisor a sandwich shop,its norm resteraunts we have been to on holidays,but its so good i had to review.there is so much choice,hundreds to choose from,which is not good if your as indecisive as me.the sandwiches are great,and reasonably priced,and the staff are always friendly.there are many times i will walk from one end of town to the other to get there,but its worth the walk.

Being a bit of a hungry miser I do like to get great food at a good price and you cannot go wrong with Deli Central. A friend took me there recently for a breakfast bun and it was fantastic. I've had a few return visits and never been disappointed. The two ladies who run the shop are wonderful too.

Called in for a sandwich whilst on a lunch break. Very friendly staff, very clean building and what a sandwich! Poppyseed bun with honey roast ham, mature cheese, chilli tomato chutney and full salad, with a can of pop & a bag of crisps all for under £5. Well recommended and I'll definitely be returning.

A good old fashioned sandwich shop where you get a decent packed sandwich on fresh bread. Way better than your reheated stuff from Greggs or sweaty supermarket sandwiches. Worth the detour under the railway.

Nice friendly staff. I had a nice fajitas chicken wrap. Very tasty and fairly generous portion. Popular with local office people. Nice to see a good independent lunch place near the station.

Really excellent selection of sandwiches, wraps, bagels, homemade cakes, pies and pasties etc. Sandwiches are freshly made to order. Huge choice of specials! Lovely friendly staff too, and all very reasonably priced.

Love the ladies in the Deli Centre. Friendly and welcoming.Great selection of breakfast and lunch options. My best being the Full Breakfast Sarnie for £2.80 (includes egg, sausage, bacon, mushroom or beans... usually I swap a sausage for an hashbrown instead).Good quality and always fresh.

The food is lush and fast, the prices are affordable and NOT painful and the friendly smiles and conversation make the experience! If you're near the Arches, make it a point to stop by. If you're not nearby...well, go anyway. My fav is the Breakfast Burrito. Just don't wear a white shirt and be clumsy like me.

If I'm working in Newcastle centre I know I can pop in here no matter what time of day [after 3 today] and you are guaranteed to get a freshly made sandwich and a quality coffee. I can't fault the place

Visited this little gem today, prices are very reasonable, coffee is gorgeous and staff are lovely! I had bacon and cream cheese bagel and can honestly say it was the tastiest bagel I've ever had!!! Cant go wrong - just under £6 for 2 large lattes and bagel, keep up the good work girls :)

Came across Deli Central almost by accident whilst walking through Newcastle and it looked interesting, so decided to try it. The building itself is of interest - set in the stone arches. Inside, one is greeted by really friendly staff and an excellent range of casual foods at very reasonable prices. I would definitely return here if needing breakfast or a snack lunch in town. Overall good quality, nice atmosphere and good prices. It deserves to do well.

I was in town shopping with family and had great breakfast bap on Saturday morning. Very tasty and filling just what I needed to set me up for the day. Great choice and staff friendly as ever

Stayed at Crowne Plaza and didn't fancy paying £24 for breakfast. 200 yards away is this little gem. Great food. Very reasonably priced. Lovely and friendly people.

I found this little deli by chance and I love it, I'm hard to please as I had my own sandwich shop and can be very critical, but the food is fantastic and the variety of fillings is great, the staff go out of their way to help, they are friendly and welcoming. This little deli is a little gem.

There'd as very little seating, just a few bar stools so it's takeaway realistically. There's a good range of sandwiches and the soup (Bombay potato) was homemade and excellent. The cakes looked a bit industrial though, and although there was a range of bread it was largely variations on fluffy. Lovely friendly staff.

I only come to newcastle once a year for a week and get my sandwich from Deli Central everyday!! Amazing value for money and the staff will always make you feel welcome. They also let you order whatever you like. Great sandwich shop!

Use this place religiously and im not easily please!.. Food is always fresh and tastes fantastic.. There is no end of choice where to grab some food in Newcastle but this is always my first... large range menu, any special requests are never a problem.Staff are incredibly friendly, always go the extra mile. I never leave here feeling ripped off (like you do at most delis), infact i feel I rip them off! Cant recommend enough, infact im going to get my 'usual' now!

Three of us doing a walking tour of the architecture of Newcastle came across this Deli by chance.The food was excellent, and good value; the staff were very willing to oblige .... varying the fillings as required. The occasional rumble of the trains overhead added to the atmosphere.If I am ever in the area again I would most certainly return.

This place deserves to be in the top 10 in Newcastle.It is located in a railway arch a few minutes walk from the main railway station and just a street up the slope from the quayside meaning it is easily accessible. For those who drive there is parking in the street for 90p per hour and under the railway for £1 per hour. Traffic wardens are very diligent.Having said that, this place is worth a visit and getting to know.On your second visit, the women will know you by name for it is a friendly informal place where there is a real interest in people who frequent Deli central.All kinds of people purchase from the huge range of sandwiches/ rolls/ wraps that are made up at the point of order. There are suited and booted office workers and local tradesmen who leave with trays of fresh filled rolls, quiches, barjis and cakes for their workmates. With all the construction nearby there are builders who come for their bait and all are met with the same friendliness and prompt service that makes this place a pleasure to visit.If you book a hotel room I would recommend you skip their breakfast and drop by at the Deli central for one. There is seating for about 6 people and the leaflets will let you know what is happening in Newcastle and roundabout. It will be good value for money with freshly brewed coffee, tea etc. How much is all this? Well, a chicken, bacon, fresh salad (including peppers and sweetcorn) seeded roll with a mustard mayonnaise accompanied by an Americano coffee left me 90p out of the £5 for the hour parking so I could sit, relax and enjoy my lunch. The roll is so large it benefits from being cut in two with a knife.So do stop by. They have soup and baked potatoes too!

As a regular visitor to and from work, Deli Central do the best breakfast butties around. Occasionally pop in for lunch and there is a great selection and if you can't see it just ask and you may get some th ing new. Friendly staff are always smiling and happy to see you.

If your looking for somewhere to get something to eat in Newcastle then deli central is the place to go as the food is great, the staff are really nice and friendly and the overall service is the best bar none :)

I've been coming in this shop every day since I started work on Forth Street and I have to say it's a great place. The service is second to none and the food is great. The staff that work there are really nice and can always count on leaving with a smile. I highly recommend Deli Central!

This is a really good food outlet, fantastic choice and quality. Very good value for money and good size portions. The ladies are so friendly and welcoming. I was quite happy to sit and chat whilst I enjoyed my coffee. Highly recommend the Deli Central and I would definitely go out of my way to visit. Great breakfasts, lunchtime specials and snacks.

Went to deli central for the first time got a lovely welcome off the lady that served me very friendly, I had a ham salad samwhich and a coffee, there was a choice of buns u could have I had a cheese top bun with my ham salad the bun was lovely and soft and the ham salad was very tasty better than the run of the mil I usually get, coffee was nice and hot, I would defiantly go again next time I'm in the area.

As a tradesman from the northeast i need a good breakfast. I have tried pretty much every sandwich shop in toon and DC is best bar none. Bacon sausage and egg sandwich is the usual for me but everything else is fresh and homemade. If your in newcastle. Get yourself to deli central. Top nosh of the north

The owner, having taken over recently, was exceptionally friendly and bent over backwards to make us welcome. It's a little out of the way but is well worth the trip!It serves baguettes, breakfast baps and more!
