Awesome bar and the night we went was the awesome INXS - UK tribute to inxs . Band ..truly fantastic definitely following and will attend again ... bar staff all dressed Halloween style which was a tad creepy tbf ( looking at you dharmer) ....brilliant bar... 2025 ..inxs again ..becoming groupies

The only place to be for all rock, metal and alternative folk who are in this beautiful city. Live bands also rock things up. Go there!

One of the best bars in Newcastle to be if you love watching live music. It's very rare that there's ever a cover charge to watch any band playing. Trillians is also probably one of the cheapest bars to buy drinks at especially for a city centre bar. The place is always busy with an electric atmosphere. If you're staying in or near Newcastle, and you love live music, Trillians is must.

Not the best pint of snakebite we have had in there, flat and probably won't visit again on the way to the City Hall.

Live music on Saturday was amazing, full of 90's rock songs that bring back such nestalgia, just sad we only heard the last half an hour. Drink prices were very good, all round exciting and friendly atmosphere! We will be coming back next Saturday at 9 pm Sharp for the band starting 😀 so few hang outs for rock lovers now, well worth a visit!

Visited these guys for drinks on our way to see a band at World HQ (top spot). Great staff and top drinks selection at really good prices. We enjoyed watching Black Sabbath play in France in the 70's whilst listening to other top tunes from the jukebox. Great spot.

Fab little bar, great live music. My only disappointment is after the band they don't turn it into a club or even have part of it as a disco so you can have a dance after plenty of drinks. We still danced anyway, we had a fab time.

Been going here for more than 25 years. Live bands, great juke box, good pints of ale. What more could you want?

Was here last night. Brilliant place with brilliant bands. Creature Creature are the best band I have seen in the many venues I have been too in recent years. Great atmospere.

Its a Saturday it's a match day and Town is about 30 bodies deep at every bar, Trillians is quieter and out of the way meaning although it's lively and busy it's not claustrophobic and imposing.

Fantastic Rock bar in the Toon, with live bands on most Fridays and Saturdays - even a few during the week if you're lucky. Loud, busy but great ear busting live Rock. On busy nights be prepared to struggle at the bar, but other than that it's always a cracking night.

Good rock bar, been in a few times now. Drinks are reasonably priced for the centre of Newcastle, and staff are friendly. Good setup with the stage and live bands. Worth a trip out.

Went there with my brothers for drinks after being at kk priest the night before Good jukebox and two bands for free so we stayed all day Good day all round 🤟🤟🤟🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Friendly service and reasonable beer prices in this longstanding rock venue in Newcastle city centre. They play classic 80s rock music and there are often live bands. The place is a bit down at heel now but that adds to the atmosphere!

Don't know if this place sells food. Pleasant staff. Good rock bar. Feet stick to the floor... literally!

Probably the best bar in Newcastle (if you like rock at least). Great atmosphere, live music, nice staff, good and non-expensive drinks (a pint of Motorhead beer for 4.50).

A friendly atmosphere with live groups on a regular basis, earplugs are available for those who prefer the music subdued the drinks are surprisingly inexpensive and alcohol free versions for the designated drivers.

If you’re a metal head, alternative person, rocker or whatever, this is the place to go if you’re in Newcastle! I’ve played here, I’ve drank here, it’s always class! The staff are lovely to talk to when the bar is quiet, so if you’re in for a drink during the day then have a natter with them. The drinks are very reasonably priced. Inside the place has history, murals to Lemmy of Motörhead, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, Chester from Linkin Park. The tables have been there for 40 years, they’re like a solid oak on a cast iron frame with band memorabilia set in to the table top in resin. If I could have one of those tables I would! The artwork on the walls, the wooden beams in the ceiling, the place is perfect for someone who is alternative and they have bands on regularly! In my whole life I’ve never had any bother or trouble from any one in here and may it stay that way till my dying days x. 10 stars x.

Absolutely love this place! What a find! Total rock bar but the friendliest of places for the whole family (until 7pm!) Well worth a little trek to find it.... Can't wait to come back!

Love coming to Trillians for local & tribute bands! Doesn't get too busy and it's usually pretty chilled, at least before the music starts🎸 Drinks aren't too pricey either.

Me and my partner were sitting at table near the stage i noticed that there was some kind off liquid on the table which stunk my partner said to the bar staff it was there was liquid they went over and said it was water but people would say if they smelled the liquid it wasn't and they were very arsie towards me which i didn't like we left and when we walked away they came outside and pointed a homeless person was in there and let him in the fridge at the back off the bar there customer service was really bad they need to be trained properly and bar need to be cleaned from top to bottom the floors are really sticky and their tables are approaching We will not be returning

The home of Heavy Metal in Newcastle. Tucked behind the busiest street in the North East, it's a welcoming place for any Rock or Metal fan. Live music many nights a week. I've seen some of my favourite bands here over the years. Trillians does get packed later on a night, especially the weekend. There's plenty to choose from drinks wise, from well named cocktails to metal inspired beers like Slayer Stout. Easy to meet up with old and new friends, Trillians seems to encourage a big family attitude. Long live Trillians 🤘

This place is good for drinking but the music is not my tip it's a rock place so you get rock music 😁 just need better bands but the place is good and you can get a drink straight away

Deserves to be grade 2 listed as a national treasure. Everyone, absolutely everyone made to feel welcome.

Great venue. We called in on a Thursday night and enjoyed two fabulous live bands: one rock and one punk. It was my birthday. This place made me feel 25 again! Highly recommended.

If you like rock music this bar/venue is genuinely legendary!! I've been going since the 80s and it's still as good as ever !!

Best Rock Bar in Newcastle upon Tyne

I really don’t want to leave this review as I’ve been coming to this bar for a number of years to enjoy the rock music on offer but I feel I need to speak up. I was sitting at a completely empty and wholly unoccupied table during an interval between acts and from nowhere a member of staff asked us to vacate the area in question as apparently it was reserved for a birthday. Many happy returns to the person in question if they read this but there was nothing anywhere to say the area was being sectioned off and the sign saying “This area has been reserved for…” had no visible name on it as whatever had been written in chalk previously had been completely scribbled out and was totally indecipherable. I don’t begrudge the celebratory party their celebrations but if such events are going to be held in such a small and confined space with limited seating then customers should be advised of this or given crystal balls as they enter so we know what we’re supposed to rather than what random staff tell us at a whim.

I love this place but then again I love its unique vibe. It's a rock bar and a Newcastle classic rock bar, I've been going for 30 years and it's always good. Bands on the weekend and a great "juke box" when there's no live music. Kudos to the staff who served me last time 👏

Had a great night watching Bruce Juice for their first time in Newcastle. Service at the bar was great. Only 2 thing sort of spoilt the night slightly. They were the mens urinals absolutely stank of stale urine. I don't have much sense of smell but even I was nearly gagging at the smell. The other was a few 'gobby' females who seemed more interested in shouting at each other over the music, which they had no interest in, and lifting their tops etc, laughing out loud, and generally being noisy that they could be heard over the music and didn't care at all that they were annoying people who came to see the band. Good job it was near the end of the gig otherwise things would of been said.

First time in here and it was fab. There was a live band on too which made it even better.

Been twenty plus years since the last time I was in here and I'm convinced some of the same people were sitting at the same tables having the same pints. Well maybe I'm wrong but the tunes from the jukebox haven't changed a bit. Excellent rock bar, proper staff, plenty of booze and music from last century. Very much worth a visit

Great place for a good drink and the jukebox is a very nice addition I don't see too many of in pubs anymore.

Booze fairly priced. Nearly everyone is super chilled here. Definitely get down this back alley rock bar for a gig. They dont mess about when it comes to good music wether it be 80s, 90s, or 00s. Reccomend the nights where Van Hailen are playing. Quite a regular band in there. Absolutely reccomend it. Pictures are from when a KISS tribute came in and what the stage looks like normally. Tip, no one watches the 5 minute videos you record, live in the moment here to enjoy this place the most you can.

What an amazing night of rock! Girleschool, Raven, Alcatraz, and Airforce. All bands were spectacular, and the venue is perfect for gigs.

No food but, plenty of beer, live rock music by a Metallica tribute , great night out.

I like Trillians, the reason being that it's a rock bar, and it has some good people who not only drink there but work there as well. The prices are good and there is nothing pretentious about the pub.

A great place to see live music, been going here all the way back to The Mayfair days. Tenpole Tudor, Raging Slab, Diamondhead, all the best tribute bands. Do yourself a favour, go.

Saw "Slackrr" there. Great place except thw slightly slippy mens toilets floor. Some people there attending thought they were too cool for school, but then you get them everywhere don't you, and its nothing to do with the bar. Excellent atmosphere as always.
