Dhabba murgh and lamb belly ram were the most tender, tasty curries me and my partner have ever had and we have eaten at all over India at famous places such as Taj Mumbai, Oberoi udavillas Udaipur and this restaurant tops it, the waiter was very attentive and even gave us a complimentary gulab jamun to top off our meal with, would highly recommend

The chicken dhabba was very delicious and the service was amazing very attentive and respectful and catered to my girlfriends nuts allergy their chicken dhabba is to die for and is the most famous in Newcastle along with their lamb belly ramm will be back amazing food

It was amazing experience with rani the food was fabulous full of flavors staff was kind cheerful, I had Dal tadka and veg pakoda kadhi (it was not on menu) I asked for and chef agreed that was the best part get whatever u wish for it with roti and some rice it was wonderful experience I will be back again

Had a great quality of time at Rani everything was good,staff was nice and humble the food was yummy and fabulous , worth spending your money over this place . I suggest to give it try place because of food quality and quantity can't even finish whole meal .

Terrible Experience - Total Waste of Money I recently placed an order for Chicken Dum Biryani, Chicken Tikka, and Pulao Rice, and it was an absolute disaster. The Pulao Rice was completely tasteless—literally just boiled rice with zero flavor. The Chicken Tikka was even worse—no taste at all, and the chicken pieces were so hard I could barely chew them. To top it all off, I spent £15 on the Chicken Dum Biryani expecting something authentic, but it was a huge letdown. It didn’t taste like biryani at all—bland, no spices, nothing. I’ve had much better for less money. This was a complete waste of £15. Never ordering from here again.

I am quite disappointed with my recent order. It arrived 20 minutes late, which affected my overall experience. I expected better timeliness, especially when prompt service is promised. I hope this issue can be addressed to improve future orders.

Enjoyed two wonderful meals at Rani recently, the food is excellent (I particularly recommend the fish pakora), the service attentive and accommodating, and the restaurant was tastefully decorated with a contemporary vibe. The music was great too! Rani will definitely be a new favourite ❤️

We popped in here on Sunday afternoon on a bit of a whim really. We were given a very warm, cheery welcome and taken straight to a great table with a view down the Tyne. The service couldn't have been better and the food was absolutely top-drawer. We even hit on with the early bird menu which had plenty of choice too. Very happy and we will most definitely be back.

It was fantastic visit at the restaurant as we entered we got warm welcome and moved to the table it was wonderful experience with food as I had tandoori sizzler and chicken coconut with some nans I loved it .

Visited here this evening and we weren’t disappointed. The food was out of this world and the prices were so reasonable. I requested a couple changes and these were done with no issue at all. The staff in this restaurant are lovely, so friendly and nothing is too much for them. Will definitely be eating here again on our return to Newcastle.

Visited Rani for the first time. Great experience. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Service was prompt and most importantly the food was fantastic. We had the chicken village curry, mixed veg biryani and peshwari naan. All well recommended. Will definitely return.

On our Unite the Union annual Saturday night visit to Rani’s restaurant. The place never fails to deliver on surroundings, service ( always with a smile) and of course, excellent food. I had lamb chops followed by a Kashmiri Rogan Josh and garlic naan bread. Nothing was left - delicious. We are quite a large noisy group and the managers are very patient, the staff very polite and accommodating and we always enjoy our evening. I wholeheartedly recommend you try this Indian gem

I would recommend everyone to try Dal Makhni, It's super Authentic.....

They catered for nearly 30 of us and made sure we were all seated together. They had a reasonably decent range of drinks to choose from and made sure we were all served. Starters were great and so was the first course. It took a while to serve everyone their main course but that was understandable considering the amount of people they were serving. Only gripe was the naan bread was slightly disappointing but the curry was really nice

The most horrible food and horrible service and horrible Indian restaurant i ever visited, had ordered chicken biryani, not sure how old the chicken was, hard as stone, horrible aloo kulcha, horrible service, treated us so badly, had no choice but to put up this comment here, this restaurant deserves to be closed down! The food tasted good, but the portion sizes were small considering the prices they charge. When compared to other restaurants with similar pricing, the quantity was noticeably less.

I ordered from this place thinking that it would be authentic. The chicken tikka masala is firstly red in the most unappetising way possible and on top of that it has the overpowering coconut flavour which just makes it inedible. After spending this much, I threw the chicken tikka masala as even the chicken was hard. There is proof of everything. If you are an Indian who expects to have good chicken tikka masala, this place is definitely NOT it. Other things might be decent but I was heavily disappointed with this gravy.

They did not apply Thier early evening offer (it's lie) and the food has hair in it. Finally they applied costy service charge

OK food, OK service. Nothing special, but not bad! My dish (coconut chicken curry) was a little bland and salty, but the others were better. The service was generally decent, though we had to ask four separate times for water for the table, and they eventually begrudingly brought one small jug and half as many glasses as people, after we had been there an hour. We were all ordering purchased drinks too, so it's not like we were being cheap.

Lovely food at a reasonable price. A little spicier than I expected (Indo Chinese chilli chicken) but still thoroughly enjoyed.

In Newcastle for a work trip and ended up eating at Rani, which ended up being a great choice. Food was great and the chef even did requests if there was something you wanted that wasn’t on the menu. Service was also great. Would definitely go back next time I’m in the area

Worst biryani ever, never will visit again

Really good food, mains of chicken dhabba and village chicken curry. My wife and I went on a recommendation from a pub close by. Waiting staff were great but...we arrived about 10:20pm, and they close at 11:30pm. What that means is that they want everyone out by 11:30pm. Immediately hassled for our choices. During our mains we had 3 separate staff asked if we had finished even though bowls were stilli half full, and a table of 4 had just been seated. Then they started hooveringaround us :-(. The curry was so nice and the waiting staff were polite but just not pleasant to have so many eyes staring at you.

Visited Rani indian restaurant on Tuesday 14th November. We're 15 minutes late arriving due to transport problem but rang to advise. When we arrived restaurant was busy and were shown to a table in the back part of restaurant. Only one other table occupied and room felt cold . Asked for heating and small heater put on which helped but still cool overall. The service from Mia the waitress was very good and made for a pleasant experience. The food was excellent with generous portions and enjoyed by all 4 of us. Will definitely return.

Saturday i took my staff for a meal 2 of the meals were not nice the starters were fine, but the 2 main courses were disgusting 1 a chicken was so tuff and 1 a tiger prawn dish which was so spicy hot i just could not eat it we complained and the 2 dishes were removed from the bill we were not offered another meal to replace them so we did leave the restaurant a bit hungry i spoke to the manager again when i was leaving but he didn't seem to care just said i will speak to the kitchen it was a very disappointed night

This place is very busy. We arrived fairly early with no reservation, but waited about 25 minutes at the bar and got a table. Our server was incredibly friendly and made our dinner so much enjoyable. The atmosphere is so lively, with all the diners just having a fantastic time. We are no experts in Indian food, but enjoyed everything we had. Everyone we spoke to before our visit had heartily recommended Rani, and now we know why.

Have had the worst stomach for the last 2 days after eating here. The staff were great and the food tasted good especially the Aloo Tikki Chaat but there must have been some hygiene/food safety step missed somewhere as I'm still feeling ill. I can see from other reviews that it isn't a common occurrence but I won't be chancing a return.

We don't get to visit here very often, but when we do the food is always outstanding. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Food arrived on time, and it was piping hot. Had a Jheenga Chennai Express, It was yummy just the right spice strength. Highly recommend!

I ordered chicken tiki masala and found it almost like an Italian tomato sauce with chicken. I was disappointed. They also got my order wrong but that happens…the disappointment in the food is what compelled me to write a review as this is where I look to make decisions myself.

What a wholesome experience it was , Biriyani was just above the level of expectation, Mango lassi taste was so good with the perfect blend also the paneer tikka. Overall , Highly recommended to have a great Indian food which just takes back you to your home taste. Ambience and the staff was so friendly and welcoming.
