Had the ribs and jasmine rice. Absolute taste sensation. Sauce ribs are in is beautiful

Booked this restaurant for the last night of a long weekend stay & saved the best til last. It was a Sunday evening 7:30pm so not busy and the staff were really friendly & helpful with the menu. We had prawn crackers then Chicken Bao Bun to share (they come in two's) then I had King Prawn Pad Thai & my husband the Beef Stir-fry. We always try each other's dishes and to be honest I couldn't decide which one I liked the most; they were hot, plentiful & really tasty. If we come back to Newcastle we'll definitely be looking this restaurant up again.

Great venue choice. This is the second time I've visited for the bottomless brunch and each time has been a great experience. Lovely food, attentive staff and a constant flow of drinks. This time we were sat in a booth style area which was perfect for a group of ladies "catching up" who tend to get a little noisy. Definitely recommended.

Having just eaten a sharing starter and main meal at Sohe, I have to say it was fabulous and I would highly recommend. Fantastic food, attentive service and impeccable standards. A brilliant experience...anyone that has not been should experience it for themselves. I will definitely recommend to everyone I know.

Our party of four had yet another outstanding dining experience, taking advantage of the January 50% off food offer. The service was as good as ever and the food was just as delicious. Particular stand-out moments were the chilli edamame beans, the starter of a shared platter (the chicken satay was the best I'd ever had) and the cauliflower main course (so many flavours and textures).

Came here on a date. Great service and lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend, one of the best steaks I’ve had.

I have never visited before and we visited as part of their January offer for 50% off food. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was brilliant and the waitress was so friendly and attentive. The tables are spaced far enough apart for you not to feel awkward. The lighting is just right for it to feel relaxing. I would not hesitate to return. The food is very good quality, fresh and super tasty.

We had an amazing visit to Sohe! The service was great from arriving we were well looked after (lovely polite young man served us but I can’t remember his name!). They had a 50% off January sale which made the meal incredible value for money but we would have happily paid full price. Portions were generous, all the food was delicious and great quality. We would 100% recommend, the restaurant itself is beautiful inside, perfect location for a special occasion or date night which lots of food options - main courses to small sharing plates, you could go back and have lots of different dining experiences.

Lovely food, great staff, And a nice environment, would recommend

The flavours were not up to the mark for the Thai green curry. We were charged extra for a bottle of still water when I had just asked for a regular glass of tap water. The bill took very long to be delivered. The service and ambiance was great overall but even the seats assigned to us was really uncomfortable. When we arrived the place was nearly empty and yet was assigned a tiny 2 seater.

Extensive choice, beautifully prepared and presented. The choice of seating arrangements were very comfortable. Staff very attentive and helpful. Lovely meal in a pleasant atmosphere - look forward to booking with SOHE again and would not hesitate to recommend SOHE to friends and family.

We visited as a friend group today, and the service was horrendous. The server came over about 2 minutes after the last people in our party had arrived to see if we wanted to order. He got in a huff when one of the table mentioned she had a walnut allergy. We ordered drinks when our mains arrived and they never turned up. I had to get up and ask for the bill whilst 6 staff members stood at the bar just chatting away. I thought, at least then, they would feel embarrassed, but no, they carried on as normal. Honestly, it was horrendous. They didn't come to collect our plates in a timely manner. I complained as we left, and who I assume was the manager just stood there and did nothing. I wasn't going to write a review, but we as a group have never felt so ostracised in a restaurant before. We felt the service we received was very different from everyone else in the restaurant. It wasn't busy at all, only 3 tables with guests. I visited Sohe a few years ago, and it was a completely different experience. Food has stayed great, but service is now terrible. Would not recommend to anyone for a dine in experience.

We have enjoyed everyone of our visits - the service, menu and environment are great. Our 18 year old is quite selective where she eats but Sohe is one of her favourites. Great for couples, friends, family, business.

Only my second visit and it was a real treat. Fantastic ambience and friendly staff put you at ease upon arrival. The food was sensational and we felt we got a real bargain, whilst being spoiled for choice. I can’t wait to return!

Sohe is now up there with my favourite restaurants! Food was delicious, service was quick and the staff were incredibly friendly - although it was incredibly busy the tables are nicely spaced out and I was able to talk without having to raise my voice! Another mention for the atmosphere would be the relaxed but sophisticated decor. Beautiful restaurant, great food, excellent service and even better staff. I will be back and I have already started recommending it to friends! Happy new year! 🎉

We enjoyed a super evening , great service and fabulous food. One of my guests who has cochlea ear plants and found the music too loud . I approached the manager and immediately the music was turned down . Thank you so much , the care and attention contributed to a wonderful evening.

We had the brunch serving staff were quick efficient and attentive . Food was delicious Korean Sticky ribs amazing, we paid extra and added a few things to the food but the price is fair. So good I will be treating my staff out in January to this place. Great value for money, service wonderful .

After an awful experience with deliveroo who dropped my food and refused to help me. I collected my food in person and the two people in the restaurant went above and beyond to help me get a meal. The food was delicious, with generous portions. I'll be visiting again!

Let's start with the positives: the ribs starter is incredible! The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant are lovely. There are plenty of vegetarian options if that applies to you, and a good wine list. Sadly, we found the service to be less than spot on. Having been a waitress myself, at less than 50% capacity, there's no reason for the service not to be brilliant. We had a 15-minute wait for drinks ordered partway through the meal. Food requested to be brought with the starters was brought alone before them. Service was very disjointed from start to finish, and that's no fault of the individual staff, rather a reflection of the training and processes behind the scenes in my opinion. The food was good but not wow good. Dishes such as the ribs were amazing and easily worth the price, but would I pay £4.95 for a tiny bowl of peppers again? No. Curry with 4 chunks of chicken in? Nope. And a bao bun with more Asian salad in it than anything else for almost a tenner? Nope. The portion sizes are good, but someone's obviously been told along the line to bulk out the meals with filler ingredients to make the portions the size they are. You are definitely paying for the location and atmosphere rather than the quality of the food and service. Judging by other reviews, I may have just been unlucky, but at the price point with so many other great options nearby, I will not be returning to find out.

Well done to whoever recruited/trained staff as 4 different staff members who served us for drinks and food were superb with great knowledge and the perfect amount of attentiveness. Small issue with the length of time between starters and mains which can happen on a busy Saturday night but handled perfectly with an apology which to be honest a lot of restaurants don’t normally bother with but makes all the difference. Food not far behind the excellent service with just a small issue with the heat of some items but I’m a bit fussy that way so not marking them down for it. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable night.

A brilliant restaurant located in the heart of Jesmond - an atmospheric suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne. A special place to sit and dine with a brilliant menu. Food quality is amazing and the service is excellent! Sohe is now a regular dining spot for me! Get it booked! 🙂

I don’t know why I haven’t reviewed Sohe sooner, I’m here all the time! They’re so considerate of allergens, asking before you’re seated, they have a special allergen menu that is clearly labelled. The food is amazing every time. The staff are always so lovely. The restaurant has a nice ambience and is always super clean. I love it and couldn’t rave about it enough.

Some of the best Asian food I have had , beautiful restaurant and the staff were very friendly was good value for money and will definitely be going back , the monkfish was the best i have ever had , the selection of cocktails was very impressive we had the long island ice tea and espresso martini

Enjoyable. A pleasing venue from the moment I arrived (and before that because reserving a table was easy). Each member of staff was friendly and courteous. The table was clean, tidy and well positioned for us as a couple facing into the room and not overlooked by other diners. The food was delicious and the drinks stylishly presented. Our 'server' was helpful and attentive without encroaching on our evening. Well observed. The ambience on Saturday evening was pleasant, the music not overly loud and the restaurant wasn't too busy with other diners. I felt Sohe deserved more in numbers. As I ate, I kept thinking of friends who probably don't know of it but they would enjoy it so I shall be back. I could not recommend it more highly.

We often come to this restaurant and food and staff are always exceptional however noisey baby at 8:30pm crying constantly. I always have prawn phad Thai which was very poor, gloopy noodles and very few prawns. Irish coffee very badly made and whilst we said this were told oh sorry we will tell the chef!! Not sure what the chef said because no one came back to us. Need to address issues and not patronise customers
