Upon arrivals, we were brief with several bottomless rules including only one drink per person at any one time and the last order will need to be placed 15 minutes before the end of the 90 minutes from the start time.
Some of us ordered sushi and only given soy sauce without wasabi, when asked for wasabi, it took a while to arrive leaving us unable to start eating the food. Wasabi should automatically be served for sushi! The rest of the food was okay, nothing impressive.
The drinks were slow to arrive, taking a painful 10-20 minutes each time. They deliberately keeping drinks at the bar to slow things down, we were left without drinks most of the time.
We called the manager after we saw him making a hand gesture to the waiting stuff to stop serving us drinks. He implies that between 4 people we have had 24 drinks and no longer can have anymore despite we still have 20 minutes left within our timeslot. Another manager also suggested that we must drink responsibly and its his responsibility to ensure that! We were not loud nor behaving inappropriately, just 4 ladies in 40’s and 50’s having food and drinks.
I have visited Katana Peterborough 6 times in the last 4 months, but this is the first bottomless brunch here – NEVER AGAIN nor that I will return again.
Fantastic food, this is our local Chinese restaurant and service is always friendly and prices are very reasonable. Favourite dish is the Crispy Aromatic Duck with Pancakes, cucumber and Spring Onions.
Staff are polite and friendly and make you always feel welcome.
This place is very good. Been here 3 times so far and always had a great experience. Come from the other side of town just to collect it.
Great food, service and good value.
A great little Japanese restaurant. The food is lovely and reasonably priced, there is a bewilderingly wide range of options (the menu is a minefield for the indecisive 😏), and the staff are friendly and helpful.
If you like Japanese food, you shouldn't be disappointed.
It's a very small restaurant, with only seven or eight tables. This does also mean it's cosy - there is (by necessity) not much space between tables, so it's not an intimate dining experience.
Kazoku is rightly very popular, so you'll need to book well in advance.
They also do take away. They deliver, but it often takes a _long_ time to arrive (2h+ is not unknown) so order early. The food has always tasted better when I've eaten it at the restaurant, though - I don't know if this is purely psychological :-)
_May 2025: Quick update - we visited again recently and it was clear that the volume of take-away orders they were trying to service was significantly impacting their ability to maintain a reasonable wait time in the restaurant. I had to wait the best part of an hour for my food and my dining companion had nearly finished her food by the time mine arrived. Also there is a constant stream of delivery drivers walking into and out of the restaurant, which is fairly disruptive for such a small premises._
Fabulosa comida y servicio. La joven que nos atendía era muy conocedora del vino que elegimos, que era excelente relación calidad-precio. La elección de tapas fue suficiente para no ser abrumador y todo muy bien cocinado. El ambiente era nuboso y agradable. Definitivamente volveremos.
