Amazing! I’ve become somewhat a regular here, I need my burger fix at least once a week and this place absolutely smacks!! The burgers are amazing whether it be the beef or chicken, packed full of flavour to the point where I still can’t decide which my favourite is yet. I can’t fault the quality and attention they put into their burgers! The staff and especially the owner are incredibly friendly and informative. They make you feel very welcome….especially to someone who’s not a southerner! It’s definitely my go to place!

I have been told by many of my friends how amazing Cawsburger was and so I thought I would travel from London to give it a go. Did not disappoint.

Great burger place! They have amazing burgers, the meat is really tasty. I only wish they were open on Sundays too!! January 2025 edit: Food is still good and they are open on Sundays 😃 Its a shame that the response to my review was removed. Its interesting how perspective change over time 😉

I cannot recommend this place enough, extremely welcoming and the burgers are exquisite. It is worth the journey if you do not live in the local area to experience their food. Phenomenal beef burger with Pulled pork and the Parmesan and truffle fries were magnificent Great establishment!

Went in for fried chicken and came out with a fried hand. They've got these ridiculous heating elements on the ceiling at arm height. They're set hot enough to sear meat. Lifted my arm when putting my jacket on and it got burnt in the split second I touched it. Left marks down my fingers like they'd been grilled. Staff were good - they got me a burnsoothe gel and wrapping which helped but it's a ridiculous hazard. No warnings, no mesh to cover the heaters. Lucky it was my own hand and I pulled it down straight away but if you picked a kid up or something 😬 food is great though and they cater to gluten free and it didn't exactly put me off or anything but something to keep an eye out for!

Fries were good (one portion enough for two to share), as was the dipping gravy. Had the simple Cawburger- there wasn't much beef, it was almost half cheese. Service was good though.

Best burger in town... Great place to eat with your mates

Came across Cawsburger via Instagram in the depths of the first lockdown in 2020. Burgers looked 12/10 but was not convinced if the taste would match (as is usually the case).. I drove 45 mins to pick up the order from a café that they were using in the evenings, initially apprehensive as this was not their premises and wondering whether the drive was all but a waste of petrol for another bang average experience. To cut a long story short, that first burger hit like a prime Mike Tyson and I've never looked back since and continue to make the arduous drive whenever feasible. Everything from the customer service to the efforts of presentation have been unparalleled and I love how much the business has grown in these 4 years, truly deserved!

Extremely overrated. Food arrived lukewarm and took ages. Overpriced. Their google profile seems to be flooded with five star reviews which looks extremely suspicious.

I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always amazing, tried many of the regulars burgers as well as the specials and have never once left disappointed or hungry! Even the chicken tenders are amazing with my personal favourite being the buffalo

My partner took me here for date night and wasn't disappointed! Burgers were delicious and don't forget the Stilton sauce 🤤. Staff were really friendly and attentive. They were also fantastic when I had to run back as I'd left something behind

Caws burger is most definitely my number 1 burger place 😋 👌 Fresh ground beef patties or even the 100% chicken burgers are absolutely juicy, combo it with the loaded fries and your taste buds will be very thankful 😅😋👌

Cawsburger is one of my favourite places to eat out ever. The best burgers I’ve ever had - all others pale in comparison now, whenever I try burgers everywhere else I end up saying “it’s nice, but it’s not cawsburger”😂. Both the chicken and the beef are fantastic, the chicken is also crispier and tastier than many dedicated chicken burger joints. I adore the Kiev fries, and the mozzarella dippers are to die for. It’s fairly expensive but well worth it - I can have a cawsburger burger & fries for £16-19ish or a tasteless frozen pub burger for £16, it’s a no brainer!

I took one bite and heard a choir of angels sing. The bun was softer than my childhood blanket, the patty juicier than a telenovela plot twist, and the cheese melted so perfectly I’m pretty sure a physicist cried. I don't know who made this burger, but they deserve a medal, a holiday, and probably a statue in their honor. Some people say true love doesn’t exist. Those people haven’t had this burger. I would fight a bear for it. I would name my firstborn after it. In fact, I’m not even sure I’ve eaten this burger—perhaps I experienced it on a spiritual level. If you’re still reading this, stop. Go. Run. Find this burger. Your taste buds will thank you, your soul will thank you, and frankly, your life will never be the same.

We recently visited Cawsburger Hitchin and were thoroughly impressed! Here's our breakdown: The Caws Burger: Absolutely fantastic. The patty was juicy, the cheese perfectly melted, and the overall flavor combination was spot-on. It’s clear they take pride in using quality ingredients. Kiev Fries: These were a standout! The garlic butter and herby topping added a rich, indulgent twist to the crispy fries. A must-try side dish! Chicken Tenders: We had two portions, and they were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They paired beautifully with the dipping sauces provided. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you’re in Hitchin and craving high-quality comfort food, Cawsburger is an excellent choice. We’ll definitely be back!

Popped in for my regular Cawboy, was recommended some Christmas Poutine fries and couldn’t resist. Also, the Cranberry Frozen Margaritas…. who cares if it’s freezing outside. I could have drunk 10 of them! Not sure I’d be walking straight after. But yet again an amazing meal from Cawsburger

What can I say about Cawsburger that hasn’t already been said. It is hands down the best burger I’ve had. The best part is it’s so consistently good I’ve never had a bad one! Every time I go I’m blown away by the flavours and offerings. The venue is nice and clean and the staff are always friendly and attentive. If you want to try one of the best (in my opinion the best) burgers in the UK you need to get yourself down to Cawsburger!

These have got to be the best burgers in the world. Got to admit I drool thinking about them. Seriously juicy and flavoursome. The burgers and chicken we've tried have all been good.... Got a particular love for the Cawboy and Cawboy fries but some of the monthly specials have been spectacular. The team are all great and very understanding of dietary needs (We need gluten free and have friends who are veggie etc). Highly recommend an alcoholic slushie though (although not if you suffer from brain freeze 🥶). I also love the fact that the food is all local.... Beef from the local butcher, buns from a local bakery and sauces are made in house. Low Carbon miles for your food!

Absolutely unbeatable! I am not a burger fan… but am obsessed with th Cawsburger burgers! We even recently came for my 30th birthday! We visit as often as we can and it never disappoints. There is a great selection of different food which is regularly updated with specials, and also a great variety of drinks on offer. We have bought lots of friends and family on many of our visits, who have all agreed they do the best burgers around! The service is always outstanding and we wouldn’t change a thing. Totally blow away by this place, a cross between going to McDonald's and a restaurant. Atmosphere was ace, food was amazing and service great too! I will be back, the burgers and fries are to die for!

Myself and my partner Sophie make a point of visiting Cawsburger whenever we are in the area, usually on a trip down to London and it NEVER disappoints! We have probably visited around 10 times now, even before they had their own premises and it's our favourite place to eat. The burgers are simply the best and the Kiev Fries (pictured) are equally as brilliant, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, and there is always a steady stream of customers no matter the time of day which speaks volumes. Cawsburger is a must visit, take it from a couple who live over 170 miles away in Wigan!

Luckily Hitchin is on my doorstep so the best burger around is never too far away. Mouth watering flavours, freshly prepared brioche buns, incredibly personable service and the best part about it is that they constantly come up with fresh ideas to keep customers guessing about that next experience. If you think because it’s a burger place that burgers are all they do, you would be mistaken because the fries & chicken strips are a must on top of your burger! We LOVE Cawsburger!!! I heard about Cawsburger from a friend and trawled their website with mouth watering looking at the pictures of their burgers and other dishes. In most of our experiences the pictures on websites never look as good in reality however in this case we were not disappointed as they were true to their online images. The food tasted great and staff were very friendly and helpful. We got there at opening time and it was filled up within 10 mins! We would highly recommend and definitely visit again. We took some food home with us as ordered too much!!

I’ve been a Cawsburger fan since their humble beginnings as a pop-up, where due to their popularity securing a burger required military-grade planning and a hunger for perfection. Back then, it was all about setting alarms and praying the stars aligned for a chance to devour their delicious creations. So, imagine my absolute delight when they announced a permanent restaurant in Hitchin! I’m happy to report that the quality not only held up but continues to obliterate all other burger joints I’ve tried. And trust me, I’ve been on a national burger pilgrimage, only to confirm what I already knew: Cawsburger is the pinnacle of burger perfection. Juicy, flavour-packed, and utterly mind-blowing—these burgers are in a league of their own. Pair that with a team of staff who are as incredible as their food, and you’ve got a recipe for my undying loyalty. Looking forward to another burger pilgrimage in the next few days. 6 of us came all the way from St Albans for the 1st time and you didn't disappoint,your food was BANGING!! We had Burgers/chicken strips and smothered fries which were all BANGING,the service wasn't too bad either...so worth travelling 20 miles for your BANGING food!!

My Boyfriend and I both come to Caws Burger as a treat every other month, they never disappoint. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Caws Burgers are the juiciest and most flavourful burgers I have ever tasted. It must be said that the Burgers are more on the pricy side (hence being a treat every other month) but are so tasty and fresh that it is worth it.

As somebody that can’t eat onion and garlic, I hoped I could at least order some plain fries from this place - I’m intolerant to alliums. They simply said every single thing has onion and garlic in it and that I couldn’t order anything. Having intolerances I’m used to having limited options but this is just ridiculous. So unaccommodating.

When you're recommended to go to a burger place in Hitchin by a friend who lives in Watford, you know it must be good. But now I'd recommend it to anyone who lives in this hemisphere. It's legendary, delicious and perfect. My only regret is that we didn't go there sooner.

Stopped by to try their famous donut burger, and it did not disappoint! The food here is consistently excellent. If you're craving a top-notch local burger, this place is a must-visit.

Really disappointed considering all the hype about this place. Burgers were ok but nothing special and didn’t have much extras in them as well as the burger. £33 for two single burgers, a portion of chips and two cans of Coke which is expensive. Two of our table had to wait 15 minutes longer than the rest of us for their food by which time we had finished our meals. No one enquired how things were and no “thank you” after ordering. Bad customer service. Won’t be returning to the Hitchin branch.

Me and my friends visited yesterday and the staff were lovely. However it was an extremely cold day so we wanted some good food to warm us up. The restaurant was extremely cold and it did not appear that the heating was on despite it being -1 degrees outside. Me and my friends ate our food with scarfs and coats on and could not eat fast enough to get out of the restaurant and home to some warmth.

I discovered Cawsburger a couple of months ago and visited them four times. The initial two times I had the Cawsburger then Cawboy takeaway and both were just fine. Two weeks ago, went with the whole family and tried the Cawsmac with double patty. That night when I got home, I had an upset stomach followed by diarrhoea. Thought it was a one off (due to them being busy perhaps) so went again today with a friend and we both had the Cawsburger with single patty. I’m disappointed to say it also led to upset stomach and diarrhoea. Could be a hygiene issue but I won’t be going there again I’m afraid! Never had this issue with other burger places I’ve visited.. For the price I’m paying, I don’t think this should be happening! EDIT: I greatly appreciate how Cawsburger handled the situation. Since then, they have consistently ensured my burger is fully cooked with no issues. Thank you! I’m updating my rating to 5 stars!

Good food served at the truck in Sandy but disappointing to see a group of boys get free fries after I have just paid full price for a family of three seconds earlier. Just a little insulting if I am being honest, poor service.

Food tasted nice but the temperature needs improving. Nuggets were completely cold, chips were quite hot. Burger was alright but not in my taste to be honest. Definitely will come to try more positions from the menu. Good atmosphere but tables needs cleaning from time to time... even if is thriving with people and orders. In summary good experience. Service needs to catch up with the kitchen. Visit after a year. Food is good, no doubt. Experience of eating in is bad or even worse. Tables have thick layer of sticky dirt. I have no clue what it is but is awfully sticky. Guys. Honestly. Please sort this out, is putting of even from good food. It makes me think what's going on at the back🤢 Cawbonara Burger is amazing 💛

Staff were absolutely amazing! We had two babies with us and they were accommodating and helpful. Only reason for the 4 stars was the burger was very pink in the middle which I know is fine but not to my liking. Other than that, food was great!!

Visited tonight and drove from Enfield to see what we thought. Got to say the burgers are probably the best I’ve tasted. The chicken strips are great. The chips are another level. All of the staff are great and friendly. The owner came over to chat and told us where the beef came from where the buns are from. You can see his passion is in the food and he deserves to do well. If you like a burger you must go here

Popped in for the lunchtime cheeseburger/fries deal and was very impressed. One of the tastiest burgers I've ever eaten. Good beef, nicely charred served with excellent fries. Couldn't fault it and a bargain at £7.99👌

Amazing burgers and the cheeseburger fries are a meal in itself (from the secret menu). Well worth a visit and worth the wait for a freshly made meal. Milkshakes are nice too. Mojito was strong according to our guest. We have been twice now and will be back again.

Servers amazing burgers with good portion size. The chicken fillers were juicy inside and crispy outside and would totally recommend. Will definitely re-visit!

Update: down to 4 stars unfortunately. When getting takeaway milkshakes they make them immediately even if it takes 20 minutes to get the food. Even after asking. So they end up melting. Not a great experience as I’d like the shake with my meal especially given the price of them. Update: went back and got the Cawboy. SO GREAT. Love this place. Delicious. Fries crispy but fluffy inside. Burger perfectly seasoned. Will be going again.

Caws burger is easily my favourite burger spot and I eat a lot of burgers. I’ve tried a lot of places around Bedfordshire and London. Myself and my girlfriend come to Caws every month for the specials and how good the quality of food/service is. We’ve tried everything from shakes, strips and every months specials. We haven’t found anything we don’t like on the menu yet!

Visited cawburger on a late Sunday evening as a family of 4. We travelled from Portsmouth as staying locally and use reviews to eat out in new areas. We ordered the special as a double patty, kids beef burger meal, BBQ Chicken and BBQ beef burgers both as Gluten free, cherry cola chicken tenders, Kiev fries, strawberry milkshake, can coke zero and 2x fruitshoots. Quality of food is very very good. Milkshake was banging! GF options brilliant. The chicken tenders were actually sold out but happily replaced as a chicken burger with the cherry cola sauce on top which we found very tasty. Personally the BBQ sauce was quite overpowering especially on the beef patty i was unable to taste the meat (maybe better If it was a double). Kids meal looked perfect. Kiev fries were very nice could have been a little hotter in temperature but still very tasty. Special burger was where my main issue was. I do understand the very nice quality ingredients used in a very nice brioche roll however i couldn't pick it up due to the puddle of beef fat in the box which some of it was soaked up by the bottom bun to the point I couldn't actually hold it. We did raise this issue with staff and who I believe was the manager/owner came to explain it is all cooked on a dry grill its the fat content in the beef itself. He instantly offered to refire a new one which as everyone else was nearly finished it wasn't visable but explained why the issue arose. If this issue could be resolved somehow then this could have definitely been one of the best burgers. Upon leaving, the manager/owner had refunded the special burger as an apology which was greatly appreciated. You don't get that service anywhere. Overall, service was excellent. Quality of produce excellent. Cost of soft drinks were a little pricy but overall bill for what we ordered was expected as we did our research beforehand. Will return and try again another day. Wish this company all the best with their future👍

Everything is good. I love the Chicken Shop burger. However, the buffalo fries is a bit overwhelming. The buffalo sauce is already strong tasting but the fries drenched in the sauce making it like eating pure sauce. This is the only thing left on our table.

I love going here as the burgers are just exceptional. My favourite is the halloumi burger, and the combination of flavours is great, although I would recommend not getting the extra patty as it’s easier to handle with the one (can get messy). Chips are nice too!

- The tropical mojito is great. - The chips are lovely. Some of the best I’ve had. - The burgers are 5.5/10. Bit too greasy for me and a double is not needed. Maybe the chicken burgers are better. - The tenders are bad. Not crispy, meaty or well seasoned. The Nashville just tasted like chilli powder. - Music was a bit too loud - They got some of the orders wrong.

Best Burger I’ve had in ages !!

Okay, so I have had a lot of burgers over the years, recent one's in London like storm burger, beer & burger etc. And boy, Caws Burger just beats them out of the park! I recently had the Oklahoma, and it was just DELICIOUS! hard to pick a fave as I've had Caws Mac, the chicken burgers but I think I have a new fave. Other than that, service was spot on, really supportive and no rushing or anything. I had it as a takeout but next time would like to dine inside. The meat is extremely good, and worth it all the way, my photo doesn't do it justice!

Got gluten free burger roll and chips . Not lying when I say best burger ever eaten . Would gladly come from Dunstable every week as a treat ! Well done Guys

The food in this place is brilliant, I have travelled twice ,40m driving, to go there and have Burgers. On my last visit, I literally abandoned my hiking friends to go and collect a takeaway and was so worthy 😍

Back when they were a lockdown popup they were producing what was probably one of the best burgers in the country. Unfortunately, since opening their own store, the quality of their food is mid at best. Fries are still great though. An unfortunate outcome for what was a really promising start ):

Had a cheese burger takeaway. Very good burger, had better recently in St Albans, but still very good.
