Got glutened here from the chips, they are marked as GF on the menu but they cook them in the same fryer as breaded chicken. Rice was OK and heated in a plastic container.

On point! Only ever ordered twice over the last few years as it's collection and I didnt drive, but both times have been very good. Ordered again tonight and still the food is really very nice!! Seems like whatever they're doing keeps a good consistent quality. Customer service great and definitely, by far the better chicken burgers in the local areas! Blazin burger is 👌 Huge portions of chips, presented well, generous with the sauces and quite decent prices too. Can't go wrong with that...

Service has got a bit slow on a Saturday. Also I love js grill fries but all of our fries tasted stale and hollow like no potatoe inside the fries. So odd, I don't understand why they have come out like this. Maybe fried for too long.

Peri Peri Strips + Peri Salted Fries + Peri Halloumi on the side is where it never goes wrong. Always nicely cooked, nieatly packed and delicious.

Food was ok ish. The thing that annoyed me was two young chaps order food one of them asked for tap water and he was told 50p for it. This is illegal. I politely told the server and showed her proof, just to get called a busy body. Again it’s against the law to charge for tap water

Food was fantastic and cheap. Got large peri peri chips and 2pc of chicken for about £5. Would definitely recommend the peri peri chips.

I am a regular visitor to J’s and it never disappoints. The food is incredible and great value. The staff are friendly and the service is brilliant. There’s a reason why I keep coming back and I’d highly recommend to anyone.

Js Grill are always brilliant, awesome food and friendly staff. Miles better than Nandos or KFC. BBQ wings and peri peri chicken both recommended 🤤. Incredible value too. If they delivered I think I'd be eating it way too much, so perhaps it's a blessing you have to collect 😆.

Was recommended this place in 2019 by the same person that recommended Cawsburger and Chicken George. I’m all in to support local independent businesses. Only got round to tasting this today and will not come back. The fried chicken was dry, too much heat lamp, too long. Frozen chips can be very good, these were so undercooked that they were white. The children chicken steak burger tasted like nothing and it was all bread. The lemon and herb chicken was decent - on the dry side though. Ah, and I waited for 40 minutes for my order. It would be great if the staff were trained to warn customers and say something like “the current wait is 30-45 minutes, is that ok?”. I’ve seen you respond to reviews and I support this. Not sure if today was an anomaly, but it wasn’t good at all.

It's not cheap... But it is so good! You can't not go back.

The grilled chicken burger tasted like a grilled flip flop rubbery and chewy with a seeded bun that was falling apart the chilli sauce was appauling and you have to pay for it This was the worst burger I've ever had in my whole entire LIFE!

First time using here and probably the last unfortunately. Service was great, couldn’t fault it but…… when we got back to eat our chicken burgers it was salt overload. Someone must have made a mistake. Neither of us could finish our burger (I had the blaze and g/f had standard burger). Fries were great but honestly salt content was off the scale!! Shame

Not as good as it use to be. Also quite slow waited 35 minutes for 6 hot wings (which were already cooked) to get Peru Peru chips to go with it.

J Grill is super nice food, with great staff. My go to take away place.

Usually absolutely love the food however this time chicken was full of gristle in the grilled chicken wrap and my partners burger wasn’t up to scratch bun was completely stale! Such a shame as we usually absolutely love this place and are always happy to drive 30 mins away from home to get it but thoroughly disappointed.

Between the peri chicken and rice / pittas I and everyone I share it with agree it is godly. (Lemon herb still gives a friendly kick too) When I mention I'm ordering the poor girl on the phone has to divide 2 or 3 bags for me it's all ready to pick up. They cant do enough and always organised Boy it's worth it. And that's just the peri menu. I've seen milkshakes passed to others and there is a little envy there

Great half pound burger 🍔 not greacey and full of flavour, 🍟 were tasty. Staff very helpful and pationate. Will definitely be coming back.

Took my order, card machine began to play up, told they would restart it so waited standing there like a plank, then they put a sign up saying machine out of order and they had not said anything to me so I just awkwardly walked away. Gutted really as no cash.

The food's always been good here, nice burgers, really great chicken, and the finest roulette box of wings going.... but they're also just lovely, lovely people. I had to go back tonight for more chicken after my daughter had tripped and dropped hers, she was distraught at having wasted it. The lady in charge at J's ("The Mum" we call her) laughed at the scenario, replaced the chicken with a smile, and would not take my money despite me insisting. How lovely of her! Thank you all for being super people and for making fab food.

Best quality chicken and meats, cooked to presision by an amazing family team that have a passion for great food. Southern fried, Piri, or in their famous chilli sauce, they never disappoint! Five Stars all the way!

Chicken here is fantastic, reminded me of the Chicken my mom used to make for dinner. Always happy and friendly service from the team. Their peri spiced chips are also amazing.

Didn’t know this place existed until I got a call out for a job here (I’m a locksmith) and decided to give it a go, did not disappoint. Amazing tasting chicken, and the fries are superb! Will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family.

Best place for chicken in hitchin for sure. All the chicken is amazing but the peri wings are a must have on any order. Cant reccomend them enough.

Good food, but don’t take telephone orders for collection, used to. Shame but inconvenient and went elsewhere

Okay but overpriced food. Called to place an order once as I usually just go there but wanted to save some time but no one answered so went there instead to be told they have no phone. Which is funny coz I rang it several times. Why advertise a phone number and let it ring repeatedly instead of answering it and telling the customer that they don't do telephone orders Maybe the purpose of this is to ignore the complaints from their customers... Who knows, either way I won't be going back.

Best burger, Chicken and Fries around here, Staff are very efficient, polite and serve with smiles. we could never eat another McDonald's now we have had a J's grill.

Have been to J’s grill for lunch a few times recently, the food is always very good and the service from the girl that served me was fantastic! She brightens my day up, as much as her bright smile (worth coming in for alone). I’ve always been in during lunchtime, so not sure what it’s like in the evening, but shall definitely try it out for dinner some time soon. Hopefully the food is as tasty and the staff are just as friendly and professional when it’s the evening!

Beautiful Peri Peri hot chicken.

I want to give 5 stars as the chicken coming out is quite simply the best fried chicken I have ever had and the peri peri is properly char grilled to perfection. But...its only 3 because they need to learn how to deal with rushes and busy periods. Success will be completely undermined by not treating the customer as king. I asked for 12pc meal but was told I could only have 9pc?! It doesn't matter how you do it you just got to do it. Develop a system that works even when under pressure. The family run shop, means that criticism is taken personally, and the thought of tell the cook to cook quicker is unthinkable. If they worked to make customer experience more efficient and quicker in busy periods, then this would be the best takeaway bar non.

Been here a few times and the food is amazing, fresh, taste great. I’m happy with the service as it’s always been soo good the staff are always kind, I can understand it’s a small shop and they still do a great job, I’m happy to wait for food if it’s being cooked or if they are busy, completely worth the wait. This is an incredibly popular take away for good reason - the food is amazing!! The peri chicken menu has loads of choice and the meals are good value for money. Personally, I love the grilled chicken wraps and grilled halloumi, but the fried chicken strips are also great too and much better than well known high street contenders! The shop does have busy periods, it’s a testament to how good the food is, but I have no problem waiting and I visit every week so those busy periods certainly haven’t put me off!! The east regions best take away for a reason, try it, you’ll love it!!

Just spent 25mins In here waiting for chicken! 7 people behind the counter walking into each other. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU HAVE A TAKE AWAY THAT YOU CANT PHONE ORDER!!! The most dis organisation I have ever seen. Waste of time and money. If NO stars was an opuntia would it.

I've used this takeaway a few times a up until now the food has been excellent, juicy chicken and generous portions. Since the owners got back off their hols/closure, it's not been great. The female owner was quite short with me when I made a very normal request and the the next time I visited the chicken was dry and small in size compared to all my other visits. Shame, won't recommend it for now.

Best chicken shop in the country, it blows Nando’s out of the water!! Staff are always so friendly and polite.

Visited here last night after it was recommended by a friend. Went for a chicken strips meal with spicy rice. Which consisted of 3 tiny mini fillets which were warmed on the grill, not marinated at all and a small layer of sauce smeared on 1 side and a stingy portion of rice which was like no other I’ve ever experienced. Not long grain, not basmati, not bulger, but something with a consistency of cheap cous-cous with a bit of curry powder in it which was all stuck together in clumps and only partially warm. The 1 star is because the girl who served me was friendly and polite. I’m afraid I won’t be returning to see if this was a one-off poor show. Disappointing !!!

Visited here on the back of a recommendation. I had the peri peri strips with spicy rice. The averagely sized portion of rice was a strange looking rice which was all clumped together and certainly not spicy. The chicken ‘strips’ were more like nuggets of chicken which didn’t appear to have been marinaded, merely put on the grill and a layer of peri peri sauce brushed over one side. I have been left feeling hugely underwhelmed and will not be going back. Sorry guys 😔

What a great find! Lovely chicken meal after I’d finished work late and didn’t want to cook. Think I might be stopping here more often.

I usually order frankenstein burger and fries with milkshake. Good fresh ingrediants. Staff friendly. Shop is often busy and gets lots of custom. They will take phone orders also. Prices a little higher than I would like to see but that won't stop me going there every once one while. Far better than another well known burger fast food place I know.
