Have used you for number of years but sorry there was more batter than cod chips dry and chewy very poor last couple times I have used you

Food was great! When we walked in nobody was behind the counter or anywhere to be seen. Staff were very quiet and not the most welcoming. Felt like an issue me even being in there. This place has gone down hill.

Oh my battered sausage! Add a dip of curry sauce and my taste buds are filled with flavour and joy. I couldn’t help but go back for seconds.

The best fish and chips in letchworth by a country mile! Having shopped around since moving to the area I can say for the quality and price this is the best available by far.

I really didn't want to write this, but sadly my last 2 experiences have been exceptionally poor, mainly due to the owner. He has been extremely passive aggressive. In addition to this the food has always been "just about ok", but yesterday was one of the poorest chip shop chips I've ever had. I want to love it here as its handy, but sadly I won't be going back and would encourage others to avoid. I'll be going to o my cod instead.

I travel 11 miles (both ways) most Fridays to buy the best fish and chips. It's very hard to find a chippie where both the fish and the chips are perfect.

Lovely fish and chips and Chicago and chips all cooked fresh. Like all things it has gone up in price but every now and then it's great. Food good sized portion really one standard chips is a sharer and the cod was so good.

Rocks was ordered for a company lunch and were brilliant. Great service and they delivered on time directly to us. Food was great and the team loved what was provided. We will be using them again as the cost was also very reasonable for what service and food that arrived. Thank you.

Good quality food and served relatively quickly. However, the portions were quite small. All chips were in polystyrene cartons, so a large portion was almost the same size as a regular...

Myself and my sister in law with our children sat outside today to have some chips, the man in the shop was VERY rude from the moment we stepped in to the shop to order our food to the moment we walked away. Will not be returning. He clearly has an issue with women and children.

While the portion size and texture were impressive, I found the overall flavour to be average. While it wasn't bad by any means, I was hoping for a bit more depth and complexity in the taste. Perhaps some additional seasoning or flavouring options could elevate the overall experience.

Disappointing very soggy. Also refused to sell me curry sauce and a drink I forgot because it was below the minimum order of £5 even though I just spent £27, so no points for customer service. Visa’s Core Rules for European merchants state the following: A Merchant must not establish a minimum or maximum Transaction amount as a condition for honoring a Visa Card

This is the only fish and chip shop I can find that actually had onion vinegar! The food is what you'd expect from a chip shop and the service is good however you don't get too much of a conversation from the people up front taking your money. Good experience overall when I go here

Don’t use them through just eat they send out completely wrong orders then shut leaving you without anything to eat !!!!

Nice friendly man in the chip shop. Lovely fresh haddock and large chunky nicely fried chips. Decent portion. Considering the hike in fuel prices and fish prices they've not hiked the price of these yet.

Basic. Small portions. Day old chips luke warm and some uncooked. It's potatoes, shouldn't be difficult. Not impressed. Customer service not great. 1 star if wasn't so quick.

Disappointing! Saveloy was uncooked and hard, ordered large chips and when I opened the wrap once home, I found a smaller portion than a regular size! Called to complain and the assistant was totally disinterested. Won't be returning.

I was really looking forward to this given I don’t often eat takeaways. Unfortunately it was a massive disappointment. Both the chips and fish batter were soggy. I would never go back 😕

Chips were soggy and pale, the batter for the cod was chewy and not crisp.

So occasionally the chips are stale same with most chip shops. ( I think it's just a potato batch thing ) But the problem I have is with the Chicken Burger. It's like a bird's eye battered oversized chicken nugget in a bun. They need to ditch that and get some bread coated 100% Chicken breast. Also we asked for no onions in the salad but ended up with them. Always staff wanted in that place dunno why they go through so many. Not that good spoken English in store. Cards payments have a minimum spend of like £7 I think. Personally even though I have my complaints it's actually a favourite place of mine. Maybe it's querks is what I like about it. But I have never had gut rot from eating there.

A regular place I visit whenever I visit the area. Yes it is just a plain ordinary Fish and chip shop with restrictive seating. But for what you pay you get very good value well cooked no grease, decent Fish and chips

Well I don't know what happened today, It was awful. It looked dull. No crisp to the batter at all. In fact the fish didn't even taste like cod. The chips were soggy so I made a couple of butties and left the rest. So disappointed. One star was for the nice cold yazoo because I haven't had one in ages!

Quick to order thru just eat app. Good thing is you can arrange what time you want your food to be delivered. Easy app to order thru. Food is delivered hot. Nice displayed food n not just bundle together,in separate bag.

Okay, but probably wouldn't go back. The chips were not the nicest I've had, but were an okay lunch. I had a children's cone (£1.50) which I didn't think was too bad for some chips and was the right size for what I wanted, but I didn't like the packaging (a polystyrene cone) when it could just as easily have been paper.

We get food delivered as I'm shielding, we used this place few times now, very quick service, food is always arrive hot, good packing, friendly drivers, burgers are lovely and no way greasy at all,chips so thick n proper chips they're so yummy n fluffy, def worth trying this place out.

Pop to this chip shop every time I come Letchworth and it's always top notch, went in yesterday and young girl served me and was super helpful and friendly! Ended up chatting about corona virus , another time I went an older chap served me and was also friendlyFood is always really good here and would definitely recommend

Good quality traditional fish and chip shop, very generous fish portions like the good old days

I've ordered from here twice and both times really dissatisfied. Their chicken 'fillet' burger contained a square of fried something and the jumbo sausage wasn't large at all. The battered Cod was cooked in old oil and wasn't crispy at all. I would avoid at all costs.

The smell of fresh fish and chips cooking hits you when you open the door. 100% the large fish and chips, great to share with the other half after a hard days shopping. A real lockdown treat. Friendly happy staff member.

Hardly anyone spoke good english waited half an hour for the fish to cook ended up with soggy chips and under cooked batter on fish very over priced for what we had I could of bought four chickens and a bag of potatoes from tescos for the price of fish and chips twice

Went to rocks fryer look good from outside went in Asian man and young man serving very quick service had to ask if everything in bag as it was quick forget a sausage and when I ask for curry sauce it came from where the food is very strange paid 2pound for a portion of chips only 10 chips time I got 5 minutes up road in car food was cold rang them to say about chips and the owner said not his fault so who's fault is it then I think they should be ashamed charging these prices for wot you get

I'm writing this on behalf of my mum who got some food from there at the weekend. The man serving was very rude, he refused to take card payment even though the minimum spend for cards was £7 and she'd spent £17. She asked several times to pay by card but the man just kept pointing at her purse (as he could see that she had some notes in there) and saying "CASH, CASH, CASH!" With no explanation as to why she couldn't use her card. So she paid by cash, whilst the fish was cooking she looked at her watch to check the time as her parking ticket was due to run out within the next 20 mins. The man at the counter saw her doing this and aggressively told her to take a flyer because it had their number on and to phone her order next time so she wouldn't have to wait.

Delicious large a Cod and chips, cooked to order. Rocks fryer never lets us down and we can’t wait to return.

Popped in here yesterday! The boy behind the counter,surly ,rude,clearly didn’t want to be there,everything was way too much trouble for him .shocking! Food, really not good ,old cold chips and fish soggy heavy batter.Never again,don’t wastes your money here.far better up the road .

Superb fish and chips, lovely and fresh and nice and hot when arrived and would definitely recommend this as think this is the best fish and chip shop in Letchworth as find the other two very disappointing and would definitely use them again.

Went here yesterday, chips were cold when I got home only a 2min drive from the shop. Sausage was disgusting I had to spit it out, tasted off/been sat there all day. Young lad who was cooking "yes boss, no boss" inappropriate at how he addresses customers.

Staff so friendly polite and so clean. I can honestly say the fish and chips was amazing. Fish so crisp, large, tasty and chunky - I have only ever had such excellent fish near the sea. Large amount of chips and a large gherkin. Really enjoyed and look forward to returning.

I ordered sausage and chips with curry sauce and the delivery time was excellent the delivery driver was polite and friendly and the food is 10/10 will definitely be ordering from here again

Best chippy ever! Never had a bad piece of fish and the chips are not greasy like some shops! No bones or skin on the fish makes all the difference. Highly recommend ❤️

Every week or two, we fetch a takeaway supper: chips, breadcrumbed mushrooms, pickled gherkin or onion, curry sauce, mushy peas and 2 spring rolls.

This was the first time that we have used the Rocks Fryer in Letchworth and it certainly wont be the last time.The staff had been very helpful but its all about the quality of the food and the portion sizes etc and this excelled in all aspects.Infact i would say it was the nicest scampi and chips and a few other items that we have had for many years..........i would like to thanks the owner and can highly recommend this Fish and Chip shop......many thanks.

Serves nice food, I was a bit weary about eating from Rocks Fryer when I first walked in as it does not look the best and it is enough to throw anybody off but the food was genuinely nice. Unfortunately 4 stars as it is very expensive for the portions

Whenever I visit Letchworth, I just have to have the fish and chips from here. When they say ¨Large¨fish they really do mean LARGE.Scrumptious.

Best fish and chip shop, period. Food is amazing, choice is amazing, cheap and quick. The owner is the nicest guy. Only thing I have to ask is why the fillet burgers changed? I loved the old burgers so much but the new ones im less of a fan. Apart from that, chips, fish and chicken nuggets are amazing here. Staple place. Highly recommend going here.

Best in Letchworth. Can get very busy. We always order the haddock because not many people have it and is not usually pre-fried. The girl taking the orders is great and always with a smile on her face.

100% the worst fish and chips I have ever tried, well I say I tried. I had some of the chips and threw the vile stale fish away. I said to them my chips are cold and could you re fry them and basically they argued about how warm they were and then they decided to warm them up. I should of known to get my money back and leave it. Honestly this was just completely disgusting food.

Called for fish and chips about 9-00pm. There was no fish ready so I was asked if I would wait while a large Cod was cooked. After a short time I bought my fish and chips, And took them home. Much to my disappointment instead of finding a nice piece of crispy fish and chips, I found a piece of fish with soggy batter and the fish tasting of nothing. The chips were not much better. My only thoughts is that I could have received a reheated piece of fish, who knows.I have used this fish and chip shop many times in the past but I won’t be going there again.By the way my cats enjoyed the fish.

Had occasion on the evening of Sat 5th May to visit Letchworth. Did not want a big meal in an expensive restaurant. Searched out this 'chippy' on Leys avenue. I kid you not... this was the amongst the most succulent piece of fish I have tasted in a very long time. Not only that.. but when the girl seen that I decided to sit down outside she decided to come out and offer me a knife & fork! ... not the usual service I receive in my local chipply!. What a nice thought. This I call REAL service.

Not great! Large portion.. No way! Was smaller than regular, savoloy was soggy, chips were under cooked. Not a great In all meal.

I grabbed some food from here a while ago and found it ok. Got a portion of cod and chips the other day. Chips were ok,if a bit cold, and the batter on the cod was very heavy and oily and not good at all. Spent the rest of the night with horrible stomach ache.

I came here after being recommended by someone. The chips were lovely and fresh and the fish was really well cooked! Lovely light batter with a great taste.

Lovely service, friendly and helpful. Two tables and a bench area inside. Good Chip shop menu and our order was tasty, 6yr old says sausage was "delicious". Would go again if visiting Letchworth.

Caught out with no food, surprisingly excellent fish and chips, lovely polite staff and chips I will tell my grandchildren about. Well worth a visit. Us and our whole party wanted to say how good it was
