Had a meal here last night with 3 friends, the food was absolutely top class. Very italian feel when you're here, It's like going back in time. A bit dated with the decor, but you can't complain about the food, I had starter main and dessert and finished with an Irish coffee ! All my guest thoroughly enjoyed their food. Definitely one to try if you're in the area. Worth booking in advance as can get busy.

The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors that truly captured the essence of Italian cuisine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, further enhanced by lovely music that perfectly complemented the dining experience. Overall, it was a memorable visit, and I can't wait to return!

Called here for some dinner whilst enroute to London. Called half hour before we wanted to eat and got a table. The lady owner is funny and friendly the food is lovely. We will definitely revisit

Authentic as it gets Italian restaurant with a perfect selection of delicious food! I was amazed at the quality and felt like I could have easily been in a small town trattoria. The staff were lovely and attentive - they went the extra mile to surprise my father with candles and song for his birthday! 100% will go back and 1000% recommended! Tutto buono ♡ Grazi mille! I could not recommend this restaurant enough! We entered and the decor was amazing, so fun and cozy. It was the perfect vibe. We were greeted by an exceptional waitress, she was attentive, with great communication and was funny. The food was gorgeous, the starter, main and dessert was great! I honestly can't fault it I felt well fed and taken care of. I can't wait to come back when I next visit

Lovely Italian restaurant, I love the food proper authentic Italian. Fresh you can taste the difference and the quality come here quiet often. I tried almost all the menu can't really choosey favourite. Definitely love the fish dishes, the fillet and kitchen surprise.

We revisited Monna Lisa for my husband birthday - it’s the best restaurant in Luton and we wish we could get here more often . The Garlic bread to nibble while waiting is the best , Fabulous food ( pollo a la lime and filet steak ) and excellent service and always lovely to see the chef Leonardo pop down and say hello . Excellent. An addiction. Highly recommended from an authentic Italian. Very close to the town centre. Every time we come back they welcome us like old friends. The service is excellent. They make us feel very welcome. Ms Italia is very kind by welcoming all my requests and makes me feel at ease every time. It's like going back to Italy and feel the warm atmosphere. Reasonable prices and portions.

I don't think I have ever had such a delicious linguine allo scoglio like this. When the chef came to greet his customers, he told me that delicious sauce was based with brandy. Squids were so tender and perfectly cooked. It's the place I go to in the UK for seafood pasta. I highly recommend to try the white version of it, you will taste better the delicious brandy sauce. Great selection of wines.

We didn’t want to eat the usual that’s on offer close to the airport and so we found Mona Lisa - fantastic traditional Italian restaurant. Fantastic service, good value - would love it to be closer to home for us. Recommendations for places to go in Italy- named me what to fly from Luton more often!- normally we fly from Stansted or Gatwick but the whole experience has made us reconsider. Do give Mona Lisa a try

Again an unforgettable experience. We had a very pleasant night with such a great service with Italia's care. We particularly loved the chicken breast with lime sauce (my boyfriend's choice) and the seafood linguine were delicious, a big portion and for such a reasonable price! My picky boyfriend really enjoyed Tiramisù, his favourite dessert. Since it is very close to Luton station, we have now the habit to stop there every time we come from the airport before heading back to London. We always try to book our return flights when this restaurant is open. We definitely recommend to try it. OMG Monna Lisa Restaurant, thank you for existing!!!

It was a rainy cold day and the food and service kept our hearts and tummy warm. It felt like I was eating at home. Food was delicious and we will definitely visit again if we come to visit. The Monna Lisa art on the wall made us smile :) and so did the owners.

I’m not sure wether the 1 star review was at the same restaurant as I was!! But it was like eating my nonnas food ❤️ .. would highly recommend 10 out of 10 .. will defiantly re visit and the relaxed family atmosphere is a must visit. Highly recommend

One word: disappointing! Food was atrociously bad, disgusting actually. We ordered starters, mains and a dessert. My lasagne bolognese (pictured below) had the texture of a soup, which tells me it was previously frozen and not fresh, it also had a rather unpleasant slighly sweet flavour. My mum's pasta Carbonara was made with cream - total shame as everyone knows that authentic Italian Carbonara is made with egg yolks in Italy... Finally, the chocolate cheesecake dessert was another big disappointment - a cheesecake they clearly bought from Tesco or Audi, sliced it and then just put it on a plate, it definitely was not made fresh in the kitchen. Staff were trying to deceive us the whole evening by being too friendly and even lied to us that 'if we want to try authentic fresh Italian food, we've come to the right place'. The waiter also refused to serve tap water as it is usually 'FREE' - instead, he told us: 'We gotta be able to charge you for it so we cannot serve you tap water, only bottled available'. What a joke. After consuming their calamari starter and lasagne, I had stomach issues as soon as I got home. In total we paid 60 GBP for an extremely disappointing and meh meal. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague.

Great fresh food. Wonderfull atmosphere and wonderfull staff. Real Italians and it's so chilled and relaxed that I will go back again to eat here. Lots of options as well. Including vegetarian dishes

30 years dining here and it is always fantastic. Lovely to see Leonardo and Italia again - normally my appetite as I get older reduces but the food is so good here we can still manage 2-3 courses and drinks - thank you all for making every visit as special as the first x

Lovely traditional Italian restaurant. I visited here for a friend's birthday over 10 years ago, and it was lovely then. I went last night for my wife and I's 6 months anniversary. We both had a starter. Mine was the fried calamari, which was very fresh and tender. My wife had the breaded mushrooms with pate inside. I tried a bit, and it was lovely. I will say there was no pizza's on the menu, which was a good thing because there are so many pizza restaurants if that's what you want. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, including vegetarian options, and I think I overheard on another table that some dishes were gluten-free too. I ordered the seafood linguine and her the steak in brandy glacé sauce. My linguine was a lovely big portion with langoustines, mussels, and other seafood, all cooked in a lovely garlic sauce. My wife ordered a medium steak that was melt in the mouth with a lovely sauce. We ordered a side order of brocoli, but it probably would have been better to get the mixed vegetables as they came with sautéed potatoes, which would have gone well with the steak. Also, I should have ordered some bread to mop up both of our great sauces. The desert was tiramisu and a mint ice cream chocolate bomb. Both lovely. All washed down with a bottle of pilot grigio blush and a hot drink for afters. The staff were friendly, the washrooms clean and well kept. The ambience was just right. There was background Italian music, which was there but not too loud. We were really happy with everything and we won't wait over 10 years to come here again

Excellent choice for vegetarians: we enjoyed the lasagne and the broccolli/asparagus/leek 'pancake'. Beautiful sides of vegetables and sauteed potatoes. Loved the cheesecake. Great attentive service. We had a lovely time at Monna Lisa. As a starter we shared a salad (tomato, mozzarella and lettuce, seasoned with olive oil). Then we had the spaguetti Carbonara and the Arrabiatta. They prepare them with a delicious creamy sauce. The staff are friendly and make you feel at home. We'll definitely come back.

My husband and I have been coming here for many years! But tonight for the first time our little boys came along! They didn't give their food a 10/10.. they gave it 100/100!! Its always a pleasure eating here! A real treat and the food is always delicious and we are always well looked after! Thank you!

This was our first visit to Monna Lisa: but it will not be our last. A very enjoyable evening with delicious food and friendly service from Nicola and Diane. The wine list is also reasonably priced A slight delay getting drinks at the start of evening was resolved speedily. Thereafter service continued at a pace we were happy with. As it was Valentines day we were offered a choice of courses from a set menu, plenty of choice for everyone.The restaurant is very close to public transport links in Luton town centre.We will certainly return to enjoy some other dishes from the comprehensive menu.

This authentic fine dining Italian restaurant is absolutely brilliant. I originally read an article in the news about it online where it was complimented for the delicious food and fantastic service it offers at an incredible value and situated in Luton. From there on, I was keen to experience this myself, I headed over on a Friday night, made the reservation half hour before (luckily that had a table available) and we were welcomed warmly. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, the food was exceptionally delicious, the starters - the calamari, the garlic bread, the bruschetta, all of it was extremely well cooked and had wonderful flavours! The main courses we ordered were fantastic, all tasting incredible. The desert was tasty and a great way to end the meal. The staff were very attentative, very professional but also making us feel so comfortable. Lovely family business from the looks of it. The owner asked us how our food is, he also ensured the ingredients were accommodating our taste buds in terms of spices etc. Overall, an exceptionally great Italian restaurant, that is now on my top 10 list of great places to eat! Brilliant, 5 stars 🌟

My husband and I have been coming here for 10 years, so about time I put a review on here. It is not only my favourite Italian restaurant, but my favourite restaurant. We have never had a bad meal here.We have brought family and friends here and they have been impressed too. Leo is an excellent chef and his seafood is spot on. Excellent hosts!

Warm feeling, excellent staff the , food tates nice too. Went there to a birthday dinner treat on my own and the waitress was so helpful and nice throuhgout the dinner time. at the end she offer to call me a cab. Left there satisfied and just want to say thank you. Next time I come to luton will make sure i am back there

We struck so lucky! Given the choice of a hotel chain limited menu at our place of hotel residence we took a chance and got a small table early doors at this little gem.Easy to find but tucked away we enjoyed authentic delicious Italian food with wonderful service.Truly a treat

Beautiful, quiet, rustic Italian restaurant in the heart of Luton. Only a short walk from the station. Customer service is second to none; nothing was to much for the staff. The food was beautifully cooked and well presented.

A real "authentic" Italian restaurant in Luton. Although I don't live in Luton anymore, I decided to come back and found out this place is still keeping its high standards of quality even after Covid and Brexit. Food is very fresh and delicious. The seafood pasta is prepared with fresh fish and is my favourite meal as usual. This time we also had the chance to try some starters like ribs, so perfectly cooked, some fried squid, incredibly soft and evidently fresh. My friends enjoyed an amazing seafood risotto and a lasagna. The Italian wine selection is also interesting. Every time we miss our Italian home, my friends and I feel like can come here and experience the same excellence we have in Italy and for reasonable prices. The staff is very kind and proactive. I recommend not to hesitate to ask for any special customized request.The place is small and cosy and extremely clean.Last time I went, it was on Saturday and it was fully booked. So I recommend to book in advance if you are planning to go.For me it's "The Place" to go in the UK.

Classic Italian, cooked to perfection. We had the steak, served with a beautiful marbled sauce and seasonal vegetables. The peas were cooked in a special, light sauce that was to die for. Every element has so much care and love put into it. This place is the real deal ❤️

First dinner out since Covid forced us to isolate 18 months ago, and an excellent choice of venue. The place hasn't changed much in decor or warmth of welcome. The food is still simple and scrumptious, clean plates all round. La patronne even persuaded me to try her special peas (normally a nono) and they all went down quickly, complementing the rather rich sauce very well. So we have learnt 2 things, one is that we must go back to this abnormally good ( for our area) much more often, and that I can enjoy peas, which are not vegetables! well done to all staff for making our return to normality so special.

2 nd visit and didn’t disappoint. Old fashioned traditional Italian, no frills just delicious freshly cooked (steaming hot) Italian classics served up with love and some nice wine

booked by phone on the 13th august for the 28th august. Got no confirmation so e mailed twice over next few days finally rang again on the 25th only to be told fully booked they need to buck their ideas up

Unfortunately it is not situated in the most salubrious part of Luton and parking is difficult and the interior décor harps back to the 70’s with its artexed ceilings and walls and false timber beams. However, they must save their money for the fresh ingredients and decent wine. We were met by two very nice ladies who showed us to a table, and we were give the menu, note – the menu is huge, and it is recommended that you look at it on their website first to get a rough idea as to what you are likely to order before arriving. I had the arrabiata chicken, (see photo), and my wife the trout – both cooked exactly as we liked. I ordered peas and I was informed they were cooked Italian style, with onions and in a tomato sauce, something I have not had before. And although they looked a bit weird, see photo, they were actually, very tasty. We booked relatively early, (7 pm), and by 8 pm they were full – so pre book. The main surprise was when we received the bill. For a 3-course meal, a bottle of wine and two beers, it came to £82.00 – very good value. If I have one complaint – I tried to book the table via their web site that promised to reply, by phone within 24 hours – a week late they hadn’t, so I called direct. The first time the person I spoke to could not hear me, the second time they kept breaking up, and the third time I got the booking – so some work needed in that area. My family have been going to Mona Lisa for many years and our two children have grown up with many visits and beautiful nights in the company of Leonardo and Nicola.The food is freshly cooked and they cater for everyone and will adapt the menu to suit you.When you walk into the Mona Lisa you become part of the family and you know you are going to have a fantastic night.We have recommended to friends and anyone that is looking for a good Italian restaurant many times and still do, you will not find a better place to eat, relax and have a enjoyable evening.Sonia
