Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at the beautiful Waterside for a small family gathering. Nothing was too much trouble, excellent food, drink and service. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to family and friends
Have admired the outside terrace with its glass balustrade on a previous visit to Great Yarmouth, but hubby unsure if they’d allow dogs. Upon asking, was told that not only are dogs welcome on terrace, but they have their own designated room! (Paws on the Pier). This is a very classy, beautiful area where you can chill with your doggy or dine. The bar has a basket offering fabulous doggy snack (the scampi fries and the cheesy hamburger treats were big hits with my two!)
The bar is absolutely stunning, deep mahogany carved mermaids nestle against shiny mirrors and optics behind the bar. Professional and friendly staff welcome you and there are lovely locals who are chatty rightly proud of their pub. Our first visit lead to a few more during our holiday!
This venue is a perfect place to sit and watch the world go by whilst sipping a beer or one of the many cocktails! Didn’t dine, but always next time!!
Visit here. You won’t be disappointed!
We ordered the homemade steak and mushroom pie, chips and peas. It was the best pie we have eaten in a long time. Plenty of the meat, extra tasty gravy and new potato chips. Definitely home made, such a wonderful meal to enjoy whilst on our day out. Will be going there again whenever we are in Great Yarmouth.

Came in for a night out whilst staying in Great Yarmouth for the weekend. I’d been here before about 5 years ago and remembered how good it had been, so was thrilled when we managed to find the place again!
The music was great, the staff were friendly and the security were on the ball.
We had a fab night and absolutely will be returning whenever we are next in the area!
The Fig is a lovely and lively venue for a family get together and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The only downside for myself and a couple of the others is that the portions are very large and everything comes with chips as standard. It would be great to have another choice, such as rice. That said. very good value for money and would recommend it.
Lovely warm welcome when you enter this inn.
We all had the Sunday roast, Beef & Pork, with mountains of meat. Actually the best restaurant I have ever had that gives that amount of meat.
Roast potatoes, roast parsnip, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower (cauliflower cheese if you wanted it) stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and lots of gravy.
Veg comes in separate dishes so you add as much as you like.
Sadly didn’t taste the puddings as we were really stuffed, but from the looks on another table we certainly missed out.
I would definitely return to here.
This is a place we've been for lunch every time we have a holiday in Yarmouth, the food is always lovely and well with the money. Their mushroom soup is very nice so creamy and well seasoned and comes with a huge crusty baguette and salted butter, the other half always has the paninis would definitely recommend this place for a bit of lunch
I have to say, just don’t, from the fool that was cooking the food to the quality, just dont bother.
There are other places to get fish and chips in Hemsby.
And I would suggest you do.
The best fish and chips we'd had in a very long time! We picked these up as a takeaway after a very wet and windy walk. They were cooked fresh to order and were absolutely lovely, we would definitely use them again.
We visited here tonight for the first time & it was beautiful! The food was perfect & very tasty! Enjoyed every last bit! We will definitely be returning!
Very reasonably priced too!
I’ve known and been to this dynamic and friendly cafe on and off over the last 10 years or so. Whenever I’m in town, I’ll always make a beeline for the Hamburger, always enjoy the great food and drink, and all the friendly and hardworking staff, a special mention particularly to Shirley, Rachael, Claire, Kelsie, Lilly for always providing service with a smile.
Now back home, I feel sad to have said goodbye for another year, and only hope that we will keep in touch, and vice versa.
The atmosphere, the food, drink, service etc., is exceptional and top class!
If you love American food, e.g. beef burgers, breakfasts, ice creams, other meals, I’d fully recommend that anyone reading this should make this your first priority.
A regular local favourite. On the last three ocassions we have been part as of a large party and despite that the quality and service never fall below excellent. Top burgers and good value for money.
