The Fig Bar & Grill in Great Yarmouth

Very disappointing lunch today. 7 of us. After being told no Skewered souvlakis are cooked until the evening, some of us ordered the mixed pork and chicken gyros or just chicken gyros. Obviously the scrap meat from previous day. Nearly all fat. Some had chips which were cold although two of us did have hot chips. Burger and pizza looked good. Don’t have the gyros.

Had a staff Christmas meal here and the food and service was out of this world, all the team bent over backwards to accommodate us all. This was my second visit and both time food was out of this world! Will be going back and taking friends and family any chance I get! Keep up great work!! Thank you

I'm going to break this down for you. Food: Pitta bread was slightly burnt for the starters. Mains. DO NOT ORDER THE PORK. Unless you like dry, dry, dry meat and are happy to pay over the odds for a drink to wash it down. And even if you don't order the dried out meat there is SO much salt on the meals you're gonna need that drink anyway. Service: What on earth. Quite simply the most awkward encounter I've ever experienced. We were still eating our desserts and the other tables had left (it had just past 9pm at this point). The staff were cleaning the floors around us, rolled their eyes when we needed to use the toilet as they had "just been cleaned" Then the staff who were clearly wanting us to leave, sat down on a table close by and was just staring at us until we left. Never in my life have I had this anywhere I've been, where we have been made to feel so unwanted and unwelcome. Overall: I certainly won't be returning and urge anyone else to not book a table aswell. Shocking.

Sadly it was very obvious none of the staff wanted to be there. Pulling out chairs and tables around us while we were trying to talk. Sweeping and mopping the floor around us very unpleasant, it was very rushed and sadly the food wasn't that great.

Went for a work Christmas meal. My meal was cold which they did offer to change, but declined as didn't want to be eating on my own. This was not the problem as I understand that mistakes happen. The problem was later the waitress said to me she was sorry for my meal but I must have been wrong as the chef said it all came straight off the grill. Never in my life have I been basically called a liar. Will never return and will tell everyone I know to avoid

The restaurant accommodated a large group of 17 for a birthday and were super easy to communicate with to arrange the meal. Food and drinks were delicious and so reasonably priced- restaurant itself is really pretty and great service. Thanks for having us!

Very overpriced mediocre food. £15 for some supermarket vege chicken in a dry pitta. Grumpy staff. Lovely terrace for drinks, but get your lunch somewhere else.

Came in for some nice foods as often regularly come to the restaurant. However the last 3/4 times the service has been rubbish. No one asking to take or order for drinks after 15 minutes of being sat there and we were also the only ones in there. I got up and asked to be served in the end because of this, and was still left for longer. However the god is lovely and I cannot complain about the food only the service

Three of us visited on a quiet Sunday lunch time, going on the roof terrace. Our experience was mixed: The good: The food was good, and there was a good range of vegan and vegetarian choices on the menu. The view from the roof terrace was great, and the glass screens meant we were comfortable even though it was a bit windy. Some of the servers were friendly and helpful The bad: Two of us were served first, but when my wife's meal hadn't appeared for another 10 minutes she went to investigate. The server on the bar discovered that while her meal had been plated up, it was still sitting on the bar rather than taken up to her, and was now cold. On leaving, as we were the only ones on the roof terrace, we thought we'd be helpful and bring our plates downstairs. The server who took them did so without a word of thanks. Even if we were being a nuisance, a show of gratitude would have helped.

Well what can I say. I was so looking forward to eating here It was a warm evening so opted for the roof terrance. We had a table for 2 close to the bar. What a mistake. We were seated by 7 45 ordered our food and drinks. Drinks took ages to arrive as did the food. When the food finally arrived we asked for some knives and forks they did not arrive so we both started eating with our fingers. Asked again for knives and forks they did eventually bring us some. By this time it was so dark we could not see what we were eating. We had to turn the torches on,on our phones. Be warned as the nights draw in it will get earlier and earlier that these tables by the bar will be plunged into darkness. Totally ruined the meal and evening.

Service was excellent, the food was not at the same level, whilst tasty my Pepperoni pizza had very little Pepperoni…four slices with none at all.

A couple of friends and I decided to stop for some unplanned lunch on the way back from our walk yesterday and what a great find the Fig Bar and Grill was! The menu has enough to satisfy whatever you fancy which I liked, we were spoilt for choice. I settled on Greek Pastitsio with fries which was delicious. The portion sizes were very generous and our food came quickly and very hot. I must say that the staff here are a credit to the owner of this restaurant, from what I could see there was our waitress Kia and another young Lady with tattoos who's name I didn't catch looking after the half full restaurant by themselves, yet both still were very chatty and friendly towards us, they didn't rush or seem at all flustered and both girls took the time to stop and talk with each which is something you don't see very often these days. Even the chef spoke to us on the way out! It was lovely to go for a lunch and be made to feel so welcomed by the staff. All three of us will definitely be returning and will be saving room for desert next time!

We stayed in Gorleston for 3 days for our 33rd wedding anniversary and to make the most of the glorious weather. We ate at The fig bar on out first evening on the roof top, lovely meal, great service. We Decided to eat there the following evening, with not such a great experience, my husbands lasagne came up first, and half of it was cold, my over priced king prawn linguine arrived ( literally 3 prawns & a bowl of spaghetti) We did complain to a man who we assumed was management because he was dressed differently to other staff. Our complaint was that while my husbands lasagne was being replaced we didn’t eat together, and it wasn’t the anniversary meal we was hoping for. “ we will do something for you he said” When we asked for the bill, the man we spoke to was leaving the restaurant and saying good night to staff, so unfortunately nothing was done for us to compensate our experience, really embarrassing to be honest.
