The William Adams - JD Wetherspoon in Great Yarmouth

Typical weatherspoons, packed out, great choice of drinks. Didn't have any food so can't rate that.

Good breakfast here with a friend.

Waited over 35 mins for the drinks to bought to the table. Asked 4 times where they were as we had finished our food, was told they were next☹️

What you'd expect a weatherspoons to be

Usually pretty busy but served in good time, food is as expected for 'spoons...

So sat and tried to order via app. So stood at the bar it was very busy. So while the girl was serving others going from one end of the bar to another. I said excuse me but that person just walked up to the bar and you served them straight away,when clearly there was lots of us waiting to be served. Obviously others around me were miffed. Her words were well I only work that end of the bar and not the end you are standing. What a load of cod wallop.

Lovely place to eat, at any time of the day

Normally come here and foods is orite but we normally order through the app so any mistakes are my fault but this time was told to go to the bar as app wasn’t showing stocked item so… We ordered gourmet steak but it was under cooked had to be sent back took 20 minutes to send another one then went up to the bar to order desert and put through incorrectly then charged for the difference when they made a mistake poor service.

The best Weatherspoons around our area by far, great breakfast and good atmosphere, breakfast muffin ic coffee is well worth the money 👍

Apparent "drink policies" that are not sign posted anywhere. You can order shots on the app prior to 6pm but they cannot serve them before this time. Money refunded but not for 3-5 days. Not good enough! Managers no help at all either.

A lovely pub for a lunch or dinner to have something to eat and drink fish and chips is good .

This used to be a lovely clean establishment with lovely food. I visited today for lunch and was very disappointed. The place has gone down hill considerably. The food was barely heated and bland. I had a burger. It tasted like cardboard. The table we sat at was so dirty I had to wipe it down myself. The dirt that came off the wipe made me feel ill. QD provides better quality and value for money. The table menus are filthy and the coffee machine was in a dreadful state. I am very disappointed by the state of the pub and the lack of care towards patrons. I observed a male member of staff serving drinks to a table and leaving the pile of dirty dinner plates behind him. This is not necessarily his fault but it highlights the problem with a lack of staff. Maybe wages are too low? I will not eat here again unless there is significant improvement, and the place is staffed properly to cope with the work that is clearly required. Sadly, it is clear that this pub did not learn many lessons from Covid. I have been quite generous with my scoring because I am confident lessons will be learned and the required changes made. Cleanliness is basic, especially when eating out. Please pay more attention to hygiene.

Came here for friends birthday normally a spoons is too bad but for some reason this one was terrible the staff were rude and order wasn't right and they didn't offer any alternative just a rude response and placed the blame on anyone else didn't realise I came to a Karen's diner instead of a spoons

Food is fair for a weatherspoons. Cheap beer as always. You get what you pay for.

Having been to my local Hertford branch(check reviews and your know what I mean) after a long drive this is just what I needed, staff friendly and polite, breakfast was well presented and cooked to a high standard, and even the toilets clean and presentable. Any chance you could move to the Hertford branch chef ?

Always going to drink well here but food is a bit limited after several visits ales are in good condition and the seating comfortable. More orders are by app nowadays and queuing can take a while at the bar

One of our favourite places to eat as they serve a wide variety of dishes to match every budget. The seats are comfortable and there is an outside sun terrace. Large range of craft beers. Wetherspoons are renowned for good quality food, served in a friendly environment, but it does get busy during lunched and weekends. Orders can be via the app or at the bar. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Well I'm sorry to say ,, the app service is slow and not only busy days ,, the tables are never cleared ,, you always see customers moving glasses and plates off the tables their just sat at on to empty tables , the staff take orders to tables and walk past full tables of glasses and plates ,, It wasn't like this when we started coming here but now it's quite shocking, It's Sunday now and quiet yet the table next to us has had glasses and plates on it for over an hour and staff have walk past it several times,, It don't look good when you come here and most empty tables still have glasses and plates left on them ,,,

Only issue was bacon on small breakfast not really hot enough! Otherwise everything was 💯. Service excellent, Food served prompt! excellent all round.

I would like to thank publicly the young lady working at front of house who was so kind, thoughtful and helpful to me when I was taken ill during the early evening of 27th November. Her actions were very much appreciated. . I’m just sorry I didn’t get her name.

A fun lunchtime with some old friends. I went for the full festive, including the turkey dinner and a pint of Adnams Yuletide. Sorry just the after photo 😂

I come here once a week for breakfast, food is great and served pretty quickly. However each time we seem to come, we have to clear the table and wipe it down. Highchairs are always filthy and unhygienic. I understand at busy times it is hard to clear tables quickly, but it seems to be a thing every single time we come in. Other than that it is one of the better wetherspoons around here.

Better than its sister pub in Great Yarmouth but service can be more than variable at times. Only one person serving at the bar is not good enough. Most of the staff are friendly and talkative but a few could do with lessons in customer service and not trying to be sarcastic. Some of the clientele can be obnoxious and aggressive. Ale quality could be better and they could do with more of the darker real ales.

Just went in for a coffee or two lol, yer very nice 🙂 pleasant staff, the toilets were not to far in the distance lol (as weather spoons usually are).

Gorleston has a Wetherspoons. Who knew?! We had taken a wrong turn and found ourselves in Gorleston high street, we had previously only visited the lovely beach which I would highly recommend. This particular Wetherspoons was a real joy. Highly recommended.

They have left handed cups. Simply brilliant. So many businesses could learn from weatherspoons. Great value, clean loos, well trained staff.

Rude staff that's why I don't go they r just pissy.when I was talking to my friend about my autism so them be slimey to me and laugh .then he came over and pretended to be a nice person.he was a girly bloke needs to man up

Came here today with my son and a friend all ate something different a few hours later we all had a bad stomach and vomited I will not be returning

Quick stop off have a coffee and a pint. Staff friendly, only 1 serving so was a little slow but pub was nice. Didn't eat so can't comment or rate.

Food was great with new things on the menu. Service is slow at the bar counter and the one person serving was not checking and taking orders in order that the person arrived.

Always really good food, very clean and quick service. One of the best Spoons I have been to.

The main thing the fire alarm went off at 0200 in the morning ! The receptionist couldn't string a sentence to tell me what caused it ! ( Some daft illiterate smoker or cant read ?) Don't even let tiny dogs sit outside on their cheap tatty chairs. The manager didn't have the bottle to tell us himself, so he sent a bar wench to do his dirty work.

Spicy meat feast was a shadow of its former self with hardly any toppings. The drinks have dropped in alcahol content and don't ask me about the last 3 steaks we have ordered .We have been loyal since this was a newbuild but going for shrinkflation Mr Wetherspoon is starting to irritate plus prices rising very regularly !

We only called in for a soft drink as a pit stop, the pub looked clean enough as did the toilets

Food was really nice and value for money. Venue has a good service at the bar for ordering drink and food.. Nice friendly atmosphere.

Popped in with a friend for fish n chips and a pint. We didnt have to wait very long for our meals. The presentation was good. It looks like the portion size is slowly getting smaller. But everything on our plates tasted as expected. It wasnt too busy and not too noisy for a midday visit. Its quicker to order by the app..To avoid waiting your turn at the bar. However if you have cash or gift vouches going to the bar and ordering is your only option

Disgusted with the treatment my daughter and her friends received today. They have been in to The William Addams and The Joseph Conrad many many times with no issues at all. Today however, after arriving from taking a bus from Lowestoft to gorleston to dine as a group in the William Addams for one of the girls birthdays, they were told to leave after not being able to provide proof of age (16). One of the girls had a copy of her passport in her phone but it was cast aside. The girls were made to feel embarrassed as attention was drawn to them on this matter. I phoned the establishment minutes after they were told to leave and spoke to a manager who claims this is their policy. Not everyone has a passport , and very few 16yr olds have a provisional license which is what the staff were asking to see. After trailing through the website , I’m even more angry to now read this #Quote from Wetherspoons website# * Families are welcome to dine in the majority of our pubs; however, permitted hours for customers aged under 18 years may vary from pub to pub. During these permitted hours, 16-and 17-year-olds (with the exception of some pubs in Scotland) are welcome to visit, without adult supervision, for food and soft drinks only.

Chip were straight out of the fryer. Tried the meat free burger. I enjoyed it. They've added more to the menu. Pub is popular with all walks of life. Was very busy, which didn't effect the service. Even got a thankyou by a server as we left. So top marks for that. Yes it's not a top notch restaurant. But comparing it to lowestoft and Norwich spoons. This one can teach them how to do it properly!

I would like to congratulate the William Adams on coming in the top ten Wetherspoons pubs I am not surprised as Dan and his team have run one of the most welcoming Spoons I have ever used. They are a very community conscious establishment helping with young people versus cancer charity They have also had one of our Defibrillators fitted to the outside of the pub supplied by Heart 2 Heart run By my boss Jayne Biggs. A superior Weatherspoon's pub. All the staff were very good (unfortunately I cannot say that about all Weatherspoon's). The beer garden / smoking area is exceptionally good.

As Spoon go this is one of the best ones visited. It certainly knocks spots off the JC in Lowestoft. Outdoor area is very pleasant too.

Had to buy my child a sandwich across the road as they can't cater for coeliacs here. A member of staff told my 12 year old she couldn't eat it on the premises yet we bought drinks and meals for others in the party. Absolutely disgusting. They offer no GF safe foods here. I hope management at wetherspoons see this.... please cater for people with life threatening allergies like my daughter instead of belittling us in front of the whole pub. Felt highly embarrassed, you've offended and upset my child and won't be eating here again!

Never enough staff. You might as well brew it yourself. It would be quicker!!!! Oh, and favouritism towards friends of the staff!!!!

Visit April 1st . Lovely breakfast hot and tasty. Staff v friendly with two asking if everything ok . Pub spotless and lovely atmosphere from families to retirees. Strongly recommended

As always in a spoons food was served quickly and was very nice however it's a little cramped in there with so many tables.

What I like most about the Wetherspoons pub is the interesting buildings they use which gives each a unique feel. Food is consistent quality and whilst not gourmet is very tasty, like the pizza I had. You are able to keep the table as long as you wish, just the place for a good catch up with friends.

It's a Wetherspoons so the usual selection of beers and good bottle options with the usual fried,grilled,boil-in-the-bag food but with a canteen feel

Nice Spoons pub with free WiFi. Especially nice today as it was the start of their beer festival

Usual Wetherspoons Fayre but the atmosphere was really good. We sat towards the back of the venue with loads of sunlight beaming through the windows. Service was great. We didn't feel rushed at all. The food was hot and good. In fact I struggled to eat all mine as there was plenty on the plate of half chicken with lemon and herbs plus chips 😋

We have been there many times and i would have given it 4 to 5 stars but this time i think we made a few mistakes, we went later in the day which meant some ofthe food felt like it hade been under the lamps too long. The potatoes and yorkshires were dry. We sat near to the exit of the play area, so we had screaming kids running back an forth. I also witnessed a disagreement between a man in a suit, manager?, and a waitress who then took it out on the other waitresses.

This is one of the best Wetherspoons in the country Great staff good food and of course great drinks ( I have never had a bad pint) Dan runs a great pub and all the staff are friendly 👌 and on top of their game So many great staff members I don't want to single anyone out except Sharon Great team good place and always welcome The best 👌 👍 😍 Oh and congratulations Sir Tim You deserve a knighthood for all the beautiful buildings you have saved Every one have a fantastic New Year Xxxx
