The best restaurants in Chelmsford East of England

been going to greggs every day since it opened for coffee and pick up a paper etc, have a chat, great staff, coffee price has been going up and today have raised it another 10 pence i no its not much but wont be going any more out of principle record profits and i wont be adding to it not that they will miss my £25 a week.

after waiting 90 mins (30min waiting time when order placed) I called the restaurant who told me my food had been waiting for 15 minutes and the driver was not there and there was nothing they could do to help

1st time here, food was lovely, service was great especially from Zac ,atmosphere in this pub was great, and made a very enjoyable evening

I love getting a coffee when I go to McDonald's and the coffee here are amazing but it did take some time for me to get it.

Food was lovely delivery fast salad was lovely and fresh

The cheesy chips had barely any cheese, sent the wrong sauce even tho they were confirmed by phone, the curry sauce was half full, the spicy wings weren't spicy at all. Upset as this is usually nice food when I've gotten from here.

Absolutely freezing cold, couldn't have the table my wife wanted as reserved, it wasn't. Pies cold inside,taken away reheated. We won't be back.

There is nothing redeeming about this chicken establishment which inhabits the dark voids that exist between time and space where you may or may not possibly eat something resembling tasty or of any real value. The wings are one of the worst in Chelmsford and are at the same / similarly priced as premium brands (KFC Wingstop, Popeyes) if you are not absolutely battered at 12-2am and there is literally no alternative available to fill your yearning booze ridden stomach then eat here, otherwise avoid like herpes. I only give 1 star as the peri mayo is passable.

My go to Chinese in Chelmsford, no other Chinese compares. Great portion sizes Great favours Great for delivery and collection Those on front desk always smiling & happy. Only downside not open on Wednesdays & Thursdays.

Really lovely pub/restaurant. Been to Battlesbridge many times but never been in the Barge before as gluten free, so presumed they wouldn’t do this. Took a chance this time as hungry and how wrong was I? Great menu. Wasn’t goi g to have a starter but they had White bait GF and haven’t had this in years. Delicious. Then had the pork/bacon egg and chips. Absolutely lovely. Portions were good. Husband had chicken wings starts and the Wednesday roast lamb. So nice we didn’t want to leave anything but I had to. Daughter had white bait and Barge burger. Everyone enjoyed their options. Staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Great value for money. This is really a little gem.

order wasn't delivered atall... driver rung me told me he was at the wrong adress! refused to deliver and then wouldnt answer the phone

Ordered 2 large pizzas, both delivered cold after an hour of time , late by circa 15 minutes. Spoke to the staff and told him that the pizzas are cold and we have to reheat to eat it. He was very rude to say: “nothing wrong in them and he cannot do anything on that issue”. How nasty a customer service by a staff who did not even accept that pizza are not cold and justifying that it came out of oven and were hot. What a level of basic awareness that if delivery is delayed pizza will be cold. Moreover, when asked to give his second name, I received a reply as: “I can’t give you my father’s name”. Gentleman, I was not interested in getting your history but to know second name if there are 2 persons with same name. Rudeness is to the extend that when I told him that will leave this review and will escalate it to next level, he said do whatever you want. Thanks Puzzahut Chelmsford for treating a regular customer and losing as well.
