A characterless Whethspoons with all the usual stuff, but building is basically a large shop.

Does what it says on the tin good selection of beers and spirits at reasonable prices and the food is good.

No tea bags. What place advertises hot drinks with no teabags? This was lunchtime and I'm told by bored looking staff that there might be some tonight.

Great atmosphere and attentive staff

Very pleased with the breakfast quality, one full English and one eggs benedict. Service very prompt and friendly. Great value for your money.

Emily was our server and she was absolutely amazing. We asked for cocktail menu and she waited patiently for us to make our decision.. Will definitely be back

Meals were mediocre, place was quite busy and noisy, place looked tired, staff were good, apart from the lady chewing gum with her mouth open who had to wipe our table unhappily because we asked, as it was covered in sticky bits and drink, she didnt even acknowledge us when we said thank you, usual hike to get to the toilets as per other Weatherspoons. Beer cheap.

Economic and good place for gathering

As usual for a wetherspoons pub the food was good and prices reasonable

It's a wetherspoons just like all the others, but we do find coming here to stop the kids moaning about being hungry around town! Food is cheap and cheerfull, never honestly had an issue really. Kids love it, and serves a purpose! Honestly, American breakfast is the winner for me! Staff all seem happy and enthusiastic, clean all round so 10/10!

Full of underage girls I asked the foreign bouncers about this and they said they are not bothered about asking for ID

This is the worst wetherspoon pub I have been in. Filthy sticky floor with broken glass. Just filthy all round. People were coming in and had to clear their own tables. One place I won't be going to again. Management and staff didn't seem to care.

Just went in for a coffee. The coffee was good and the service was fine.

Gr8 place on ur own or with the family. Very reasonable prices. Clean and tidy. Clean toilets (that's a must) yeah very good place....

All day branch was cooked perfectly, service was excellent especially given how busy the place was.

A busy Tuesday in the lead up to Christmas and the place was full. Good range of beers and ordered on the app. The food arrived quickly for a ta le of five. Had a problem with pizza in that it arrived on a luke warm plate and quickly went cold. Pizza in my local Spoons is served on a slate slab as this keeps it hot. I hope this was just a one-off.

Welcoming pub. Very busy. You can order food and drink via the Wetherspoon app and so do not need to leave the table and queue at the bar. Food was nice and hot. Staff friendly. Good atmosphere

Popped in for an early cuppa before starting our Christmas shopping. Lots of customers having breakfasts looked very good. Would definitely recommend.

I popped in for breakfast today There was a nice atmosphere there, the service was quick and the staff were very friendly I recommend stopping in here for a bite to eat or even to sink a few pints they've got a big selection of drinks available

Loved it new mini warp great value

Hate to be that person but waiting nearly an hour for a small wrap is honestly a joke. The staff member we spoke to was very apologetic for the wait and claimed they were rammed... however half the people in the location where drinking and not eating. There was uncleaned tables, and all the tables were crammed together to the point you couldn't sit without being back to back with someone. I have been to this spoons loads of times and normally have really good service. Must be the time of year I suppose? Just an honest review from a very hungry customer.

Cheap drinks and good atmosphere, win, win

Good value for money. I would like to mention a member of staff Julie. When she is working the tables are always clear and clean. Very pleasant lady. Other times I have had to move dirty plates and wipe the table myself.

Usual Wetherspoons. Big with plenty of people and the usual reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff

Better than your average spoons

Who doesn't love a weatherspoons?? It's part of Briton! Been coming here since 2005(hardly I'm the last few years though) and it's not changed hardly at all. It is still the same layout since back then and I love it.

The food arrived extremely quickly and was very good (we had the breakfast).

Breakfast was cold when asked the member of staff on the delay of the food she was quite rude. Overall very poor service.

Some of the food was cold. Two different beers had to be sent back as tasted of vinegar though staff didn't quibble. Another beer ran out. Beers either poorly kept or close to out of date. Quality and availability of ales been decreasing in recent months

Ordered a pint of Guinness. Barman poured and was letting it settle. So far so good 👍. Tried to enter it into till and it wouldn't let him. Perplexed..only to be informed by the bar manager that Guinness was off and not to be served. Farcical

If you're after a huge variety of different meals, JD Wethersones has an awesome menu. Positive points: No music, so conversation is possible. Orders arrive quickly, and we were advised at 930am that our big breakfasts would take 40 minutes. However, the food arrived at 20 minutes. It's a busy space on the ground floor. Most of the clients at this pub are male, many on their own. The staff are very efficient

Lovely restaurant. Lots of seating and the atmosphere is cosy. The menu has a wide range of food and drink. The food arrives very quick and it is very nice. You can order on the app straight to your table if you wish. There are nice toilets available. Staff are friendly, nice and helpful. Highley recommended eating here or getting a drink.

Our big breakfasts were with us in 20 minutes despite the pub being 75% full. The breakfast is passable, given the discount price. You can have as many cups of tea or coffee as you like. The service is good.

It's possibly the oddest Wetherspoons I've been to. It's very compact and somewhat chaotic with as many seating and tables crammed as close together as possible. With 3 people serving behind the bar, service took some time. Tables were left uncleaned and dirty and food littered the floor. We didn't eat there as the reviews put us off and seeing food coming out reinforced our choice. There are plenty of other places to eat and I would suggest you try them.

Big busy place. A typical Wetherspoons, never had a problem with the food or the service here. Can get busy and very noisy at times. Some bar staff need to take a chill pill and it would be nice not to have sticky tables.

Great place for breakfast, cheap and cheerful but very tasty food. Friendly and helpful staff. Couldn't order Miners Benedict though as no Hollandaise sauce available...seems to be an issue with Wetherspoons and Benedict dishes....Still, other food available. Finally got Miners Benedict today :)

So on Sunday I came in and took as seat at other wetherspoons they let u order online but here no so we went up the bar and ordered waited about 12 minutes for the food and we waited for our drinks but they left them at the bar as they do not bring them to the table and the food wasn't cooked properly they sent it back and cooked it but it was still raw and we got the big appetite kids meal sausage and chips got 9 chips and 3 sausages food was horried I would not recommend this place go to mcdonalds or burgers king

It's an affordable place with good seating. Would recommend for the beverages and British food but not for their Katsu curries. The first time we visited, we had the traditional English breakfast with mocha which was good enough. The katsu grilled chicken curry on our second visit lacked any real flavour. The chips are decent for the price point. Staff is helpful and cleaned out table when I requested for it

Its a Wetherspoons........ Always understaffed. Lots of used tables not cleared. Generally chaotic. HOWEVER..... You just cant beat the breakfast for quality, quantity and speed of delivery.

Always seen it never needed to go in until one day I was waiting on my girlfriend to finish her ladies night and I had a nice burger and chips

Always very busy here. But it's a spoons so I expect no different. Gotta love a spoons! Nice big pub they even open the big windows so it's nice loads of fresh air. Toilets clean and tidy and service is great! Thank you! I highly recommend a visit!

Cheap and nasty reheated food nil atmosphere

Another City.... Another Wetherspoons.. Another Carpet.. So, I guess this Wetherspoons lacks kerb appeal from the outside. As you walk in, the bar is situated along the back. There is a slight raised 'restaurant' area to the left which looks out onto the road. The lower level has a variety of seats. There are a number of fruit/gaming machines to the right near to the water on the end of the bar. The toilets can be accessed this way, and yes they are up a number of stairs. (There is a accessible/disabled toilet downstairs) It's not the best atmosphere for a Wetherspoons but it is ok. The staff were all polite and friendly. We ordered part from Steak Club and part from Afternoon Deals.. The gammon meal was good, the small fish and chips was not the best, the batter was well overcooked. All in all an ok Wetherspoons with pleasant staff, clean toilets and staff regularly collecting glasses and cleaning tables.

Service was fine and decent selection of drinks.But the floor was sticky -when was it last cleaned? More concerning the staff didn't intervene when a group of 18 year olds (one had a badge on) repeatedly banged on the window to friends outside/inside - this happened on a number of occasions and it was more luck than judgement that they didn't break a window. No consideration was shown to the number of other groups in the same area of the bar - some couples, small groups and a larger group. The girls were clearly very drunk. The staff should have intervened on a number of occasions if they cared about the custom of other people in there. I won't be returning. Plenty of alternatives to choose from in Chelmsford.

Gunfight at table 62. What a pub, kicked off 15 mins after arriving, glasses thrown , old bill called and then a free drink for our troubles, best pub in Europe.

So busy and lovely atmostphere. As always wetherspoons reasonable prices for food and low cost wine . They ran out of fish n chips as they often do on a Friday or Saturday by the afternoon,still, I guess that's a good sign .
