Always a nice visit with friendly staff all is always good & clean & dogs are welcome 👍 with great parking with a nice walk 2 park at the back if U take your Pooch 🐕👌

Turned up the car park was very busy but this was due to the weather being nice I suppose, we walked in to be told our table was still occupied so we were put somewhere else next to a door that was just constantly banging every 5seconds with a draft, ordered our food and drinks, starters we had chilli jam sausages these were ok, chicken goujons are what they are and the garlic bread which was literally a slice of bread burnt to a crisp no flavour at all, we then waited an hour and 15minutes for our roast when asking where our food is I was told it will be 10minutes just dishing it up, roast came out looking like a bomb had gone off on the plate it was stone cold they took it back and oblivious put it in the microwave as when it came back the plate was red hot, the beef was rock hard and the parsnips and carrots were solid as well as for the mash I’ll leave that for you guys to make you’re mind up, the menu description to what we received was very different, I did attend Mother’s Day and had the same problems but put that down to being very busy so thought I’d try one more time unfortunately we experienced the same problems

Great atmosphere especially with the live singer she was great. Great atmosphere, happy staff, tasty Hake & scallop tagliatelle and fish & chips and we were asked how our food. We'll worth a visit

Had a wonderful afternoon at the Quart pot for my sisters 70th , food was amazing and service was spot on just enough time between courses . Thank you for making our afternoon so lovely xxx would recommend the prawn and calamari duo !! Lamb was amazing!! 🤩

Visited the Quart Pot quite a few times as my sister lives close by - always had great food and friendly service. Today we went for the Sunday roast dinner and it was lovely - the extra roast potatoes and yorkies went down a treat!

Overall this is a nice pub with a great garden too. However, a member of staff Ryan lets it down - with a sarcastic and condescending attitude to customers.I was also over charged yesterday - only slightly, but still was overcharged!

Went for lunch with a friend the food was disappointing the salad tasted old the peppers were slimy, there was also raw broccoli in the salad . I had bacon, chicken & avocado sandwich and the bacon was all fat . The bread was soggy. The windmill is much better.

Mother’s Day meal for 5. Two course set meal for 5 people. We all had a roast which was stone cold, tiny portions and the beef was tough. Sent it back as it was so cold only to wait another 20 minutes for a warm ish meal to come out and it to still be disgusting, 1 carrot and 1 parsnip on the plate a tiny piece of mash, small potatoes and a small Yorkshire pudding. deserts were obviously microwaved. The staff were lovely, not their fault and did take some money off for us at the end. Just a big shame as the food is usually lovely.

Outstanding table service, everyone's so friendly, has that real Pub/Restaurant vibe and the food couldn't be better! They also allow dogs and are very family friendly, don't have anything bad to say, 100% Recommend!

My husband took us here for Mother’s Day meal, it was 2/3 course menu for £22-27 Starter was chicken skewers that came out not cooked still pink, was sent back and another replaced Had triple roast for main and Small potions, tablespoon of powdered mash, I carrot and 1 parsnip which was hard still, a small stuffing ball that was too fruit flavoured, food wasn’t that hot either Pudding was crumble and custard that was heated in the dish and well over cooked didn’t resemble a crumble was like a suet pudding with burnt apple I couldn’t even eat it service was slow and won’t be going back

Had afternoon tea there today with a group of about 25 - 30 people and can honestly say it's by far the worst afternoon tea I have ever had. Apart from the scones the rest was incredibly poor. Bread dried up and fillings largely uneatable. Desserts very poor indeed. Won't go again. It's a shame as the pub It's is really nicely laid out and attractively decorated.

Went to this place with a group of friend for afternoon tea. It was terrible sandwiches were made with bread that was dried up BLT had no tomatoes init and bacon was 99%fat completely not fit to eat. The only good thing was the scones. The arrangement was a buffet style not the usual service on stands at the table. Certainly not worth the money & a big disappointment.

Afternoon Tea for over 20 of us, together with drinks was the worst experience we have ever had. There was a choice of only TWO sandwiches which were all curled up with no brown bread on offer, all placed on a shelf behind the tables and chairs. Afternoon Tea is normally displayed on a stand on each table. The service was also miserable.

Nice staff and service. Ordered over the counter but there is a phone service through the app as well. Food was good, but the fish and chips were soaking in a lot of oil. Batter was a little thick as well. I had to leave a lot batter as it was heavy with oil.

Worst roast dinner in a long time, adults portion was more like a kids size. Went back because it was cold, then arrived back warmer, and the meat was inedible as it looked like it had been microwaved to death. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones to send back food this afternoon. We were given complimentary deserts but feel we should not have had to pay for the food. It is a Shame as previously food has been lovely and hopefully the kitchen was just having a bad day.

Worst roast we've ever had, very small, tough dry meat and food was cold, sent all four roasts back for fresh sent back same food. Will not be going back ever.

Had a lovely fish & chips followed by a delicious Sundae. Staff were lovely and friendly would definitely recommend! ..

First time here, and I was very disappointed. Living at St lukes we thought it might be a place we could regularly visit after this evening that is now a definite no. The glass of wine I asked for was £10.25 I did not ask for New Zealand sauvi b!!! Since when do they give you their most expensive wine. The food you order yourself or on the app. It came quickly but was not particularly good. All in all, would I visit again? Definitely, not.

Visited on Monday afternoon unfortunately it was not good… ordered fish and chips which was swimming in grease and the apple crumble was stodgy and inedible.

If you like heavily microwaved food then this place is for you! Greasy fish and inedible dessert. Won’t be going back and will spread the word

Nice pub, good atmosphere and good food

I came here previously for lunch and was served a steak sandwich which was great, so I decided to return a couple of weeks later for another. Can honestly say this time the worst place I ever have eaten this time around. The portion size was inconsistent, before I was served a really nice portion and was satisfied with service. However this time I came; I had the tiniest bit of steak that was massively over cooked and had half the portion size as before. They also served me without gravy despite it meaning on the menu as “most people ask without it” as I was told by the worker. When I questioned the portion size I was told that this was the size and shouldn’t have been given the size before. If this is the size of the portion even a toddler would not have been filled up. Awful experience I will not be returning.

This is a lovely local pub, and we are pleased to have it so nearby. It's been recently renovated with more seating and a fresh lick of paint. The food here is always great, service at the bar, dog friendly, and often busy, so I recommend booking a table. The only criticism I would have is the car park. It can be muddy, full of puddles, and limited for space. They have live music nights, pub quiz nights, and often good value deals from the food menu. Highly recommend!

Came for a Sunday roast and was massively disappointed. The meal came with a slice of a roasted carrot and a shrivelled slice of a roasted parsnip and a small sprig of broccoli. When asked whether we should expect any more veg, we were told we would have to buy them. The potatoes were clearly frozen ones and the gravy was full of lumps. The only saving grace was that we could have unlimited potatoes and yorkshires, so had to order a few extra portions to actually have a normal sized dinner portion. Am hoping it was just a bad Sunday service but I’m not so sure.

Nice bar, after work drink. Always a pleasure, treated well. Danny knows what I want, and makes me smile. Good conversation. Just what the doctor ordered after a busy day at work.

Used it often before covid but sorry to say will not be using it much now Beer was good though

Customer service is second to none! I have had to pat myself on the back for choosing this venue for my dear departed husband's wake. Gemma, Ryan and the teams' goal was to make our experience as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. I cannot fault them! Expectations were high and they did not disappoint! If you need a honest to goodness event with a delicious hot buffet, where nothing is too much trouble, then your only option is the Quart pot. The most impressive thing for me was, that they are not out to make money out of you, like so many other venues which is so refreshing. The whole experience was relaxed from start to finish. And they catered for all my friends and families needs. How marvellous is that! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts

We decided to bring my mother here for a birthday meal, how I wish we hadn’t bothered! Limited uninspired menu, limited vegetarian food, unhappy staff and not a nice atmosphere! Short wait for food, part of the order was wrong but they insisted it wasn’t! Not a good start. Lukewarm peas, no salad with Earthy burger, nobody coming to see if everything was alright! The Quart Pot used to be a nice, happy and warm place to visit with a decent menu, but not now ! Will not rush back!

Popped in with my brother last week for a cheeky lunch. Both had the steak and venison pie. It was all lovely, nice proper old pub atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

We booked a table for a meal as we were in the area for a family funeral. I ordered the falafel for starters, which was barely edible. There were 3 small falafel which were fairly warm and OK with cold roasted peppers, cold broccoli and triangles of cold bread soaked in sriracha sauce. I would have probably eaten most of this if it hadn't have been absolutely swamped in a really hot sriracha sauce; definitely not "drizzled" as described. I like spicy food but the dish was completely ruined by the sheer amount of sauce chucked over it all; the food was virtually floating in it. We followed this with the lamb shanks, which were nice but the "buttery chive mashed potato" had a strange consistency, and was, we suspect, powdered mash, or at best real mash that had been kept warm for a while, as it certainly tasted very dry and powdery. There was also a longish wait between courses. We decided to be brave and order a dessert as we were still hoping for something nice. I had the crumble of the day. Huge lumps of solid crumble and lumpy custard that I would be embarrassed to serve. I don't believe that they have a proper chef here, if they do they need more training as the average home cook can do far better.

The young lady serving was excellent, polite, funny, and just what was needed.

Upgraded to 5 stars as the recent refit / Xmas day meal were fantastic. You can see the owners have spent a few quid, but it's reaping the rewards. Service as always excellent.

Me, my girlfriend and her family visited for Christmas Dinner on Boxing Day. I was fairly disappointed with the food. All the food come out very well timed which was nice but although the service was very fast and the staff were lovely and very accommodating, the food was sadly not up to par. The vegetables were very poor, and felt like they weren’t fully cooked. The carrots and brussel sprouts in particular were dreadful. That being said, there were some very nice parts of the dinner. For starters, I had the Salmon Gravalax and that was delicious. Salmon tasted fresh, the pickles were great and it was accommodated with very tasty bread. The butter however was rock hard, deffo needs to be left out the fridge a bit before serving. For main I had turkey roast. The turkey itself was quite nice, was very moist and delicious with the gravy which in itself was lovely. But the entire main was let down by the dreadful veg. Such a shame. For the final course, I had the cheeseboard and I again found this fairly disappointing. Only one selection of cracker which was bland and fairly stale, only 3 cheeses which were nice to be fair, but having only 3 felt disappointing. The caramelised onions weren’t particularly nice either. All in all, I would return again, but certainly not for Christmas dinner again. It’s a shame because I’ve visited The Quart Pot before and had a lovely experience with great food but sadly on this occasion, I was let down. Hopefully on my next visit, it’s one more to remember.

Extremely rude staff and very bad customer service

Poped in for a quick snack/lunch break. Had calmari and prawn duo with extra sweet potatoe chips. Food was delicious, nicely served and atmosphere qas very cosy,festive same time. Staff friendly too.

Came in high hopes of a good dog friendly pub but unfortunately was left very disappointed… We came expecting it to be very busy but there was very few people and only little choice on the menu as a lot was not available as apparently they had ‘run out’ (very poor for a Sunday a week before Christmas!!) Decided on the turkey roast after the guy serving couldn’t understand a slight adjustment on another meal. The whole meal was very obviously not homemade and just no roast potato or Yorkshire top ups were offered even though it is stated in the menu. Had to go for the crumble for dessert as again half of the dessert menu was not available. Unfortunately it was partly inedible. It was served as rhubarb and plum but there was no plum, the rhubarb was hard and a hideous amount of ginger was used that is not to everyone’s liking. Not good at all and I’m afraid I will not be returning

Very warm and welcoming pub. Full of visitors and locals. Staff were superb. Tables are clean and not sticky, and things are moved when wiping a table. Great cask ales. It is always a pleasure to visit this pub.

Would like to write something positive but I'm afraid I can't. Everything about this place is just about average , the food leaves a lot to be desired , although I have given the service 2 stars , because the bar staff were good. I'm afraid the Quart pot is not somewhere I will be revisiting.

This was our first time at the pub and we felt at home. The food quality was beyond our expectations, and the team were attentive and welcoming. I would definitely recommend to visit.

Hadn't booked but they managed to squeeze us in for Sunday lunch today. Said we could be waiting half hour for our food but it arrived much quicker. Roast turkey was delicious, extra roasties, yorkshire and gravy was offered for free! The refurbishments have made a great improvement - bathrooms are much nicer. Will definitely be back soon.

A gorgeous find for an impromptu Sunday lunch! We were driving through the area and spotted this place so stopped by compete chance. We were really happy with our luck finding this place as they were able to seat us, food service was relatively quick and the food itself was delicious! Also highly recommend the amaretto mulled wine 👌🏻 kids meals are really good value too! Kids dessert is pictured, massive and delicious!

I can’t wait for the grand opening. I usually come here with my Nan on a Sunday so it’s going to be really odd not having our little lunch date, Nan really loves it here as the staff are always super kind and attentive and the food is always amazing. I also come here with my friends often. Bring on the 30th! Can’t wait to see the new look and not have to cook my own roasts!0

The food is pricey for what u get. Food tasted nice not many options . No vegetarian options . The male manager is very rude! Other staff was loverly and polite. I know a lot of people who have said the same on the male manager! I think he needs to learn to have respect on his customers and handle situations better.

The food was very good, freshly cooked and plentiful. The staff were very helpful and were only too happy to go through my food allergy details. We thought the meals were excellent value for money. We Would definitely return.

Won't come here again as both occasions part of my food was not hot. Also I had to eat with my coat on as it was so cold in there.

Phenomenal staff! On leaving late in the dark and wet I had a flat tyre. I'm a retired woman and a blue disabled badge holder. The hospitality and kindness they extended me were above and beyond. Lovely atmosphere and food good. I will be back.

The 3 of us booked for Sunday lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The decorations are great, a really good touch. I had mussels followed by trio of meats, wife had brushetta and beef, little one had beef, all really nice. The service was top notch and our waiter made such a fuss of our daughter. Will definitely be back soon, maybe even next sunday. Thanks guys

Called in with the family for a drink. Very friendly welcome and lovely drinks. Sat outside in the extensive, mostly covered, garden. They have just started a new extension to provide over 50 more covers but this doesn,t effect the pub in any way.

We popped by for a meal this evening as we drive past this pub often and try to support local businesses. The positive was the friendly bar man who was so accommodating and a credit to your establishment! The negative was the food, we were not asked if our food was ok at any point and I can understand why as we had left virtually everything we ordered, the only edible item we ordered were the chips. I don’t think I have ever had such bad food where I couldn’t even chew it. Hoping the refurbishment brings a better quality of food as this could be a great spot!

Haven't been here for a while... but the food and the service were great..the lunch options we chose are not listed on here , the beef burger and spicy chicken burger were yummy and my dad loved the sausage and mash! having lots of renovations atm which is why 4 stars on atmosphere!

We went for lunch as had a lunch menu outside, the only thing on lunch menu on offer was sandwiches. Ordered a meal each and was what we would expect from a cheap budget pub chain. Will not be going again as very disappointing

Having lived locally for over 18months we kept saying we must visit. Well we did and went for lunch. First impressions were it was looking a little tired and needed some attention outside and in. However the food was good, service ok, prices fair. The tables also show a little sign of wear and would be lovely if the door from the car park had soft closer on it as everytime anyone came in or went out it bangs really loudly!! Little things but would make a great improvement.

Came here for a birthday treat but unfortunately the food was really disappointing! Chicken pie with hardly any filling and dry burnt pastry on top. Mash that was chewy and old and all the vegetables were yellow and tasteless. What a shame! Really expensive for the quality. The staff were very friendly though!

Haven't been for a while. We came to celebrate a birthday as we are pretty local. Unfortunately the food has gone really down hill. It was awful, best swerve the hunters chicken! Had better meals in a wetherspoon and Cheaper!! . Steak was the only saving grace on our table of 6 meals. Peas like bullets and cold, chicken dry and bbq sauce straight from a bottle. Pasta dish was dry and congealed. I Did let the waitress know we wasn't too happy but no attempt to rectify anything. . Table wasn't wiped down when plates collected overall very disappointing won't be going back anytime soon!!

Lovely old pub (one of very few still standing and in action). Local pub to us. Great go to if you need a catch up with friends ormore of an occasion eg Birthday. Outside space including patio and garden Friendly and proffessional service Relaxed atmosphere Vegan options which I'm thankful for, however I would like to see a wider range of choice. Normally order the burger and chips which is cooked accomadatingly to dietary requirements. ( separate friers etc).

Lovely little pub I have drove past many times and wondered what it was like inside, I visited the pub for lunch with my friend yesterday,the food was nice,the staff were lovely,I will be visiting again, there also dog friendly inside in certain areas of the pub,so thats a big bonus for me,they also have a nice garden area.

Lovely pub. Didn’t eat on this occasion but have eaten here before and the food is lovely. Fab garden area and marque to the back. Great for kids plus Moretti on draft, what more could you want!

Excellent service. Food options were limited indicating that it was all pre prepared, only one chip option, no fries only horrible fat frozen chips. Potatoes can easily be cut into thinner chips, puddings were obviously frozen and microwaved. It's all OK but overpriced for sub spoons food.

Really disappointed. Lovely looking pub and a really sweet woman behind the bar but sadly that’s where the good things finished. Pints were expensive, chicken smelt like fish and had to wait 45 minutes for 1 drink when 2 were ordered. Nachos - quite a simple dish but the salsa was runny, the cheese wasn’t melted properly, the chicken was like rubber and had a fishy smell. Sadly not a pub I’ll be going back too.

It was a late Sunday lunch. No prior booking. The place wasn't crowded by this time. The food was average and one of the gammon steaks thick and inedible. The mushrooms looked and tasted tinned. All a bit greasy. The fried egg was.not good. OK, but wouldn't return.

Lovely, quirky place with a large beer garden 👍 Haven't eaten here yet but will definitely re visit.

I had my birthday here and they closed off part of the patio for me! The staff were lovely, the food was good and the drinks were tasty, cant complain!

Been in Wickford ..on and iff for 40 years and never been in this pub ... wot a silly Sod .. loved it .. try there mushroom and cheese hamburger... also Disabled toilet easy place to get too for me Dad ..

Lovely food, reasonably priced, helpful staff and pretty beer garden and great facilities for dogs. Will be visiting again
