Five of us came for dinner and it was a bit of a mixed bag although mostly good. All the staff were really lovely and very helpful and all our meals were very tasty well cooked and presented, overall we quite liked this pub. The downside was that the vegan options on the menu were pretty limited & of the non-vegan options at least three were unavailable, two of which were my top two choices. Perhaps we will give this place another go and hope that the shortage of meals available was a one off.

Didn't seem to match up to the dog friendly hype on their website, and all a bit low rent really; a bit like a Harvester, you order and pre-pay at the bar. However, unlike Harvester there is no proper waiting service so you have to queue at the bar to get your drinks. Food was kind of ok though we felt the beef was overcooked. Roast potatoes were nice though. Although marketed as a dog friendly venue we never got that impression. It felt more like they were simply tolerated.

I had the Venison, well first it was not a pie. It was an open tart with a huge puff pastry top. The tart was so small the top was so big you could not see it. It came with 1 serving spoon of mash that was spread on the plate to make ot look more and vegetables. Over priced. Bar man was helpful but the lady was unhelpful when my friend complained about the very dry vegetable burger. No exchange of food was offered or discounted. Will not go again or recommend this pub.

After ordering food a waitress come over to tell us it would be an hour before food which was slightly annoying but not the end of the world. After waiting so long for the food it arrived, fish and chips was fine. The cheese burger was okay. Grilled chicken burger was RAW, not slightly raw, the outside was white and the rest of the chicken was cold and pink, not slightly even cooked. Again, grilled chicken salad was also raw and it is concerning that this even was able to leave the kitchen. One person is severly ill currently from eating this and another has started feeling funny - the food poisoning that both people could have is so bad and not acceptable considering the risks from eating undercooked chicken. The guy at the bar was helpful and gave us a free round of drinks however this does not compare to the food poisoning now got. Another table also had an issue which they actually got their money back for the food. Kitchen staff need to be relooked at

Attended with my partner for an anniversary lunchtime meal. We booked a table as we assumed it might be busy and we didn't want to risk turning up and being turned away. On arrival, we walked in to no staff by the entrance and 2 staff members behind the bar taking orders. Was a booking necessary? Probably not. We chose our own table as we wasn't welcomed by anyone and didn't know if booking a time, meant booking a table but that wasn't the case. We ordered the nachos sharer, one hunters chicken and one fish and chips. The nachos were cold & for a first time ordering nachos, these were garnished with rocket & pickled red onion (not mentioned on the meal description with both me and my partner dislike). This put us both of the nachos straight away as we had to remove all the onions and leaves that were unnecessary and not listed on the ingredients. When I asked the staff about it they said it was normal to have on top & I advised them that it didn't state that on the menu in which they kind of shrugged off and said sorry. My partners fish and chips might aswell have been called batter and chips as there was about 80% batter 20% fish. When it arrived there was no tartar sauce & when I asked the staff they said they hadn't had any delivered. Shouldn't this have been advised when the meal was ordered to give us a heads up? Another disappointing dish. My hunters chicken was lovely, however it came with ONE onion ring which was laughable. Both dishes came with peas which were like bullets too. Lastly, what is up with the plate sizes? The actual size of the plates don't even hold the food on properly (see picture) so whenever I tried eating the hunters chicken, my chips and peas were falling onto the table.

So disappointing, ate there a lot a few years ago but todays meal was not good, child’s meal was still partly frozen, sausages not fully cooked and had to be returned, 2 adult meals ( beef ribs) both lacking meat, all fat, told as it was eaten could offer a free drink, daughter ate it as she didnt want to complain but why dish up food that you can clearly see is sub par and undercooked, salad was bitter and parts of it slimy, pub restaurant fairly empty which should of been a warning when everywhere else was fully booked. Young girl who we complained to was lovely and tried to help as was the lady behind the bar. Sorry Quart Pot you’re a lovely pub but food was not good and certainly not up to the price charged.

Visited the quart pot today (Sunday 9th) for Sunday lunch. I can only describe the experience as awful. Firstly, we ordered the roast dinner, which was possibly the worst roast I have had in over a decade. It tasted like the microwaveable roast dinners I was subjected to as a child. Dry slices of meat (beef, pork and turkey all tasting the same), thick sickly gravy, undercooked and soft potatoes, and dense, chewy stuffing. It really was unremarkably bad for the £70 we paid. In addition, we were advised to order from the bar, despite 4-5 staff members lurking around chatting, whilst other customers received table service. We will not be returning. Disappointing.

Our family tried the Sunday roast here today and it was so dreadful we all left with full plates. The stuffing tasted like an orange cough sweet (and was tiny), the potatoes were so pale I thought they were boiled not roasted, the veg was hard, the mash tasted like microwave or powdered mash (mine had a big powdery lump in the middle) and the meat all tasted the same (like those microwave meat in gravy things). The gravy was so thick you could slice it. As for service, there was none. You order at the bar (unless you're a local it seems). Honestly would never come here again, better off at a carvery.

Turned up the car park was very busy but this was due to the weather being nice I suppose, we walked in to be told our table was still occupied so we were put somewhere else next to a door that was just constantly banging every 5seconds with a draft, ordered our food and drinks, starters we had chilli jam sausages these were ok, chicken goujons are what they are and the garlic bread which was literally a slice of bread burnt to a crisp no flavour at all, we then waited an hour and 15minutes for our roast when asking where our food is I was told it will be 10minutes just dishing it up, roast came out looking like a bomb had gone off on the plate it was stone cold they took it back and oblivious put it in the microwave as when it came back the plate was red hot, the beef was rock hard and the parsnips and carrots were solid as well as for the mash I’ll leave that for you guys to make you’re mind up, the menu description to what we received was very different, I did attend Mother’s Day and had the same problems but put that down to being very busy so thought I’d try one more time unfortunately we experienced the same problems

I came here previously for lunch and was served a steak sandwich which was great, so I decided to return a couple of weeks later for another. Can honestly say this time the worst place I ever have eaten this time around. The portion size was inconsistent, before I was served a really nice portion and was satisfied with service. However this time I came; I had the tiniest bit of steak that was massively over cooked and had half the portion size as before. They also served me without gravy despite it meaning on the menu as “most people ask without it” as I was told by the worker. When I questioned the portion size I was told that this was the size and shouldn’t have been given the size before. If this is the size of the portion even a toddler would not have been filled up. Awful experience I will not be returning.

When asked whether we should expect any more veg, we were told we would have to buy them. The potatoes were clearly frozen ones and the gravy was full of lumps. The only saving grace was that we could have unlimited potatoes and yorkshires, so had to order a few extra portions to actually have a normal sized dinner portion. Gemma, Ryan and the teams' goal was to make our experience as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. I cannot fault them! Expectations were high and they did not disappoint! If you need a honest to goodness event with a delicious hot buffet, where nothing is too much trouble, then your only option is the Quart pot. The most impressive thing for me was, that they are not out to make money out of you, like so many other venues which is so refreshing. The whole experience was relaxed from start to finish. We booked a table for a meal as we were in the area for a family funeral. I ordered the falafel for starters, which was barely edible. There were 3 small falafel which were fairly warm and OK with cold roasted peppers, cold broccoli and triangles of cold bread soaked in sriracha sauce. I would have probably eaten most of this if it hadn't have been absolutely swamped in a really hot sriracha sauce; definitely not "drizzled" as described. I like spicy food but the dish was completely ruined by the sheer amount of sauce chucked over it all; the food was virtually floating in it. We followed this with the lamb shanks, which were nice but the "buttery chive mashed potato" had a strange consistency, and was, we suspect, powdered mash, or at best real mash that had been kept warm for a while, as it certainly tasted very dry and powdery. There was also a longish wait between courses. We decided to be brave and order a dessert as we were still hoping for something nice. I had the crumble of the day. Huge lumps of solid crumble and lumpy custard that I would be embarrassed to serve. I don't believe that they have a proper chef here, if they do they need more training as the average home cook can do far better.

Upgraded to 5 stars as the recent refit / Xmas day meal were fantastic. You can see the owners have spent a few quid, but it's reaping the rewards. Service as always excellent.

Me, my girlfriend and her family visited for Christmas Dinner on Boxing Day. I was fairly disappointed with the food. All the food come out very well timed which was nice but although the service was very fast and the staff were lovely and very accommodating, the food was sadly not up to par. The vegetables were very poor, and felt like they weren’t fully cooked. The carrots and brussel sprouts in particular were dreadful. That being said, there were some very nice parts of the dinner. For starters, I had the Salmon Gravalax and that was delicious. Salmon tasted fresh, the pickles were great and it was accommodated with very tasty bread. The butter however was rock hard, deffo needs to be left out the fridge a bit before serving. For main I had turkey roast. The turkey itself was quite nice, was very moist and delicious with the gravy which in itself was lovely. But the entire main was let down by the dreadful veg. Such a shame. For the final course, I had the cheeseboard and I again found this fairly disappointing. Only one selection of cracker which was bland and fairly stale, only 3 cheeses which were nice to be fair, but having only 3 felt disappointing. The caramelised onions weren’t particularly nice either. All in all, I would return again, but certainly not for Christmas dinner again. It’s a shame because I’ve visited The Quart Pot before and had a lovely experience with great food but sadly on this occasion, I was let down. Hopefully on my next visit, it’s one more to remember.

Came in high hopes of a good dog friendly pub but unfortunately was left very disappointed… We came expecting it to be very busy but there was very few people and only little choice on the menu as a lot was not available as apparently they had ‘run out’ (very poor for a Sunday a week before Christmas!!) Decided on the turkey roast after the guy serving couldn’t understand a slight adjustment on another meal. The whole meal was very obviously not homemade and just no roast potato or Yorkshire top ups were offered even though it is stated in the menu. Had to go for the crumble for dessert as again half of the dessert menu was not available. Unfortunately it was partly inedible. It was served as rhubarb and plum but there was no plum, the rhubarb was hard and a hideous amount of ginger was used that is not to everyone’s liking. Not good at all and I’m afraid I will not be returning

Very warm and welcoming pub. Full of visitors and locals. Staff were superb. Tables are clean and not sticky, and things are moved when wiping a table. Great cask ales. It is always a pleasure to visit this pub.

Would like to write something positive but I'm afraid I can't. Everything about this place is just about average , the food leaves a lot to be desired , although I have given the service 2 stars , because the bar staff were good. I'm afraid the Quart pot is not somewhere I will be revisiting.

Food’s usually good and always thought decent quality, but last night it was awful. Hugely disappointed with the quality of the food. Weatherspoons serves better than what we experienced. Food sent back for being cold, and then again for an inedible steak. Ruined the whole experience. Staff were nice and did deal with it well but didn’t adjust the bill to reflect the poor experience we had.
