McDonald's in Chelmsford

i came to this mcdonald's with high expectations and left feeling disappointed and grossed out by the pure state of this establishment, the bins was completely full which resulted in 90% of the tables full of peoples rubbish, not to mention all the order screens receipt being empty so i didnt know my order. children are sitting in the corner of the so called “restaurant” vaping. the food was below average and the staff management was poor. will not be returning!

I haven't had a Big Mac for such a long time and was really looking forward to it. I'm sad to say it was the worst I've ever had. The chips looked insipid and were warm, the burger, definitely got thinner but also only warm. It certainly wasn't enjoyable. Staff friendly and helpful

Despite being very busy and systems playing up the staff were very helpful, especially Aiden he was polite, friendly, helpful and had a smile for all the customers, and we all know what a pain some can be !!!!!

Called in today for lunch just after midday so place was very busy, ordered our food via the machine, little bit of a wait which was expected. When our food was called all was correct with no issues tasted good to, nothing not to like.

What a sham!!!!! We paid for priority order, so extra money. Food arrived stone cold!!! Drinks were missing. Driver couldn’t give a monkeys…. What is the point of using these company’s if the service is so shocking???? There is no way that food had just been cooked and sent out for delivery!! But who’s to blame? McDonald’s or Uber eats??? To be honest I don’t actually care, but someone needs to sort this out. It’s totally unacceptable……

I always have a bad experience when going to this McDonald's. I have never got a receipt from the self service machine so you have to ask what your order number is. They don't allow the vouchers that can only be redeemed at this branch as the self service machine refuses to recognise them and when you ask about them you get a "No" with no explanation. My order us usually wrong. Today I ordered a burger with no gherkin, when I get home I see that the burger has more than you would normally get.

This was my first sit down Macdonald since March and was very impressed. One helpful lady dealing with The QR code registration and another lady making sure everyone wore a mask . We ordered our food and sat at a designated table and five minutes later our food was brought to our table. There is a limited menu but everything works well and the double cheeseburger was delicious. Well done

I go to mcdonalds a fair few times for coffee and chips and sometimes it’s good and sometimes not. Today with the outdoor seating it was chaotic to say the least. I liked sitting outside which was nice just watching everyone going by. But it was the ordering that spoilt it. I went to the machine and put my order in, then you have to take a thing with your number on. But on the receipt was a different number. Then go to go to table to be told can’t take the numbers out, have to wait at counter. Ten minutes pass before I see someone walking around with what looks like mine. So I asked and yes they had been looking for me. By this time it was lukewarm chips and coffee but I didn’t go back cos couldn’t go through that again. They need a better system in place. Shame for staff as it’s not their fault.

Always quick service. Staff helpful. Food always warm. Sometimes not many seats available on busy days but you can normally find somewhere. Recommend to anyone walking past. Monopoly has lots of winners here, won most times! Just a good iconic type of Mcdonalds!

Me and my friend were served by Alfie , he was very pleasant and friendly and asked if we needed any help at all and wished us a very good day and brought a small to our faces

I went in to the store got my order without any problems but was told I couldn't go upstairs. I fact the seemed offended that I would even as for such a favour. It was difficult to find somewhere to sit because people who were already there had spread themselves about e.g. a table for 4 occupied by one person with a cup of coffee some other seats being used by people eating their takeaway from Greggs. Don't expect help from the staff.

The service was smart and professional. The order was served in very good time. The table was clean and tidy and the floor well swept. I watched a nearby table being cleared only moments after the customers had left. My only criticism is the same space washing facilities for the ladies and gentlemen's toilets.

Popped in for breakfast while out shopping today, simple to use machines to order food to normal McDonald’s standard nothing not to like.

It was very busy but the service still came with a smile. Our order was delivered in more time than usual but still acceptable. The coffee was as I expect and the chicken wrap was very good. The tables were clean and tidy my only complain is the mixed toilets of which I am not keen.

Bought my grandson in here after downloading the McDonald's app. Ordered at the table, paid at the table and the food was delivered to my table quickly. What's not to like about that. Fantastic!

Before looking round the shops in Chelmsford why not pop into McDonalds & have one of their great breakfast egg mcmuffin washed down with a nice cup of coffee & just sit & compose for a while. Nice and clean and quick service

They had run out of breakfasts. The only reason we came was for the breakfast, so had to have burgers for breakfast which isn't what we wanted.

So I ordered a cheese burger, chicken mayo, chips and cheese bites.

I have a sixteen year old son, who with his friends is in regular conflict with the staff over where to store their bicycles. As a strapping lad who likes to eat out when he can, is there the possibility of providing an area for these items without causing any trouble. I realise that there is limited space available and that there must be a budget to consider. Surely something must be done.

Went to this McDonald’s in Chelmsford, my order didn’t come when I ordered to table service so I spoke to manager, she first told me it had been collected so refused to give me my food, even tho I’d payed for it? Then she found it and had ago at me ! Instead of apologising , disgraceful service she should be sacked !!

3 times now we have ordered through Uber eats, Never again each time we have been food short first time it got replaced, second time we was told a manager Alex would personally bring a refund round... never happened like mugs we gave it a third go food short again phoned the store spoke the the actual manager manni who accused the Uber driver of stealing our food and refused to do anything for us a a customer, when pushed for someone higher to speak to he hung the phone up on us...... disgusting service

I've never been a McDonald's fan - as I'm not a fan of burgers. However, for the past 18 months or so, I've worked in Chelmsford and getting an early morning cuppa and pot of porridge has become a fixture of my day.

i had a nugget meal which was fine but my friends son had a chicken nugget happy meal and he didn't eat his nuggets so i ate them and he obviously had the chips which are all in the same box. The next day both me and my friends son were sick.

Visited this restaurant in Feb during a busy lunch period, even though they were busy they were very efficient with my order. Smiles all round and the restaurant was kept very clean by all the dinning area ladies

This can be busy at times but there are plenty of staff that keep the tables clear. The coffee is very good but the muffins can be a bit dry.

Now Chelmsford High Street is hardly short of eating establishments, why the Council continue to assume that an empty space is a food place is beyond me. However, unlike some of the pricer outlets, cough 5 guys who charged me over a tenner for a cheeseburger, fries and coke, McDonald's is the place to go. Plenty of tills which have staff serving you or if you'd rather avoid people, they have loads of kiosks to use too. Even better is there isn't a long wait for your food and McDonald's genuinely does cater for people who cannot afford to be ripped off. So when I'm shopping and want a quick lunch, it has to be McDonald's.

We received very good service with a smile. The coffee and the wraps were as good as Mc D's produce. The table surface was clean and the floor was tidy. The toilets were spotless.

Ordered for family of four on the screens and selected table service. When order came was missing a burger. Had to go to counter to ask for this. Finally got someones attention and waited for them to make the quarter pounder. Returned to my table and my husband said his Bacon Grand Big Mac had no bacon. I then returned this and waited again - this time they just addedd the bacon. Returned to finally eat - both my burger and my husbands burger were cold. I returned them and they remade them so had to wait again. Went back to eat.....the Bacon Grand Big Mac again was missing the burger. At this point I just returned it and asked for a refund. Terrible! To get it wrong once was irritating - but twice? Four visits to the counter in total and a ruined meal. Terrible customer service and a very poor apology and service generally.

Typical Mc D's. Clean and tidy with good and friendly service. The toilets are almost spotless. The coffee for the price is exceptional.

This is the best and perfet place to eat in Chelmsford Essex i wouldnt want to eat any where else i love the food lovly friendly staff allways willing to help everyone this place is always nice and clean so if anyone can't think where to go to have something to eat go to this place as it's the best place in the whole world.

I must say, I’ve never come across such abrupt and rude manner of staff anywhere else. I watched a member of staff speak incredibly rudely to a group of young lads who were well behaved. She then spoke to an older gentleman with the same rudeness.

Although it wasn't busy there the floors were not clean, and several tables still had the remnants of left food and drinks on them. The coffee was as per usual, but the rest left much to be desired.

If you fancy a good burger then you will find this restaurant opposite Marcs & Spencer's down the High Street. It is a very busy & bustling place & the queues do get rather long, but the staff soon get out the orders. As well as good burgers they can also provide you with some nice coffee or pop & many other goodies.

We visited Chelmsford yesterday and decided to have a quick lunch in McDonalds, that was a big mistake we placed our order on the automated machine and duly paid for our meal, when our number was called we took our tray and walked around the entire floor looking for a place to sit and eat our food without any success, I went back to the counter and asked if their was any seats available upstairs and the reply was its very crowded upstairs with no tables available, so we had to stand around waiting for someone to leave before we could sit down and eat our meal, by which time the food was cold.

Very busy and noisy, takrs ages to get served even if you want just a coffee. Toilets are clean though!

What a joke dreadful to the worst , was not expecting what I got but can laugh about it, my order was for a burger with lettuce and tomato "........... And to be honest I got a burger bun with lettuce and tomato and no burger , how funny is that

I was shopping in Chelmsford and came here for a quick lunch. Unfortunately it was not a quick lunch as I had a really long wait before I got my food. I ordered Filet-O-Fish and Fries. The restaurant was extremely busy and I had to walk around and look out for some people leaving before I could find a seat.The food tasted ok. I probably will return some time in the future.

Always busy when I go there, hard to get a seat at times, since the refit ,chairs /table's crammed to close together, when you get up to go, you take half table contents of the other guests with you ,happened to me and also had some blokes bum in my food when he left,chairs don't move. Felt so squashed in there.

A coffee only would not eat in , my friend had a burger and said it was ok. the tables were full of rubbish and not wiped, we had to ask for a table to be cleared.

Popped in for breakfast this morning easy to use machine but they still don't have a sign up telling people what counter to go to.

This is the first time I've been in here since the refurbishment.

This particular McDonald's has always been good. Very efficient and food order has always been hot, correct and served quickly which is all you could want from mcdonalds. My last visit was during half term just after they re opened and it was manic. Completely manic. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing and the self service machines only seemed to add to the chaos. However, since returning after half term today, they were much better! Hopefully they've got used to the new systems and are more efficient now!

If you like McDonalds you will be pleased to hear that their Chelmsford branch has reopened after refurbishment work.

Easy to get to as it is in the middle of the town. Only downfall is that it is very busy and quite noisy.

After looking round the market & shops in Chelmsford why not pop into McDonalds & have one of their great burgers & fries washed down with a nice cup of coffee or a bottle of coke & just sit & chill a while.

Good service , fast food. Consistent with other mc d worldwide. Polite staff. Need to offer mayonnaise.

If you are visiting this country town & fancy a great burger then make your way to McDonalds which is near The Meadows. The staff there are friendly & there is plenty of tables & seating where you can sit & enjoy your burger & lovely golden chips washed down with some coke or a nice coffee.

As we are all aware, you know exactly what you are getting when you visit a McDonalds no matter where in the world it may be. Food-wise every branch is the same and usually does exactly what it says on the tin. And while the Chelmsford High Street branch does exactly this and has very pleasant staff I just wish they would sort out the queueing arrangements especially at busy times when it just seems to be a free-for-all system as to who gets served first. It would be quite simple to adopt a Post Office style system to create a bit of order at peak times to prevent people, especially teenagers, from jumping the queue. I don't pop in very often but this has always been a problem and puts a lot of people off.

We went to this McDonald's before we went to the odeon . We asked for drinks and was told the coke machine had no fizz so they couldn't give us any drinks didn't offer up a glass or bottle of water . I asked for a mango smoothie and was told the machine was broken and they have been waiting for an engineer for 2 weeks !!

Popped into the Chelmsford McDonalds on a quick trip to the town centre with a colleague for a quick lunch. Not often do we have the opportunity to eat lunch out or have a McDonald's, but we thought it would be a treat. We knew, even at 1.30 pm it would be a bit busy, but did not expect the very poor customer service and food we received.
