Quick visit after doing an assessment. Can't complain as food was hot and nice for once.

I ordered drive - tru about 5:15 pm I ordered 2:Big Mc x2 and for my husband and son and 2 burgers for myself The teller didn't give my reciept snd paid cash total of 10 :66 When wevget home my son eat his Big mac and told him the other one is for his dad My husband was so hungry às we been to hospital I didn't realise we only had one Big Mac and we have 2 drinks I tried to contact them on the phone and there is no answer Not a good custumer service and never trust their people Disorganised and nit looking their order

Absolutely disgusting. Took my son there yesterday and to start off half the stuff was unavailable. 2nd the chips were disgusting, ove two thirds were inedible. Most completely black. Look like they had just reheated the ones at the bottom of the fryer. 3rd the chicken nuggets were even worse. I knew there was something wrong when my 2 year old spat them out. He normally loves them. They had absolutely no taste and also looked like they had just recooked ones that were sitting there all morning and also were vile tasting I sent them back and they were fine with it. Said they would make a fresh batch and the ones they gave me back just looked and tasted exactly like the ones I sent back. Only decent part of the whole meal was the coke Will not be going back again

Happy to upgrade this restaurant from a 1 star review in 2020 to 3 star in 2024. It’s improving massively. Cleaner, better staff and management plus it’s more welcoming.

Visited McDonald's for little break and refuel to continue shopping. The restaurant look cleaned, toliets also. I did have to wipe the table before sitting but just liquid not food. Got our order wrong but very quickly corrected, no questions asked. Used the table service which is excellent idea, especially when busy. The food never looked like the picture advertising it but never does. Don't go often but enjoyed our experience again.

Sat in silence at drive thru for a very long time waiting to be asked for our order. Strange as we were literally the only car. Eventually a very loud rude person informed us that they have no milkshakes.iced drinks, ice creams, frappes etc. He seemed to think that was quite funny..This is still the worst drive thru in Chelmsford.

Very unfriendly staff member who acted strangely to my daughter. I ordered on the screen while my 6yo daughter sat at a table. She soon came up to me and said the man took her kitty toy.. I saw the cleaner put it in a locked cupboard and I asked for it back. The staff member was very hard to communicate with but reluctantly gave it back. Food arrived late. Mcspicy burger was rock solid hard to eat. Restaurant was messy. Cleaner just standing in corner looking at us. On leaving my daughter lost kitty again. I searched for it asked same cleaner who was very defensive and suspicious. Just felt uncomfortable. Ladies toilet out of order too. Very poor

Triple parked in bay 2. Food was cold after a long wait. Ordered garlic mayo and got ketchup. All from the drive tho.

Been back since it reopened a few times and I allways go on a Saturday morning for breakfast before work and the drive through is extremely slow , there can be 2 or 3 cars and it still take a silly amount of time to get through it

Always a joke here. Always opening late with excuses. Drive thru staff twice have been busy chatting and ignored customers. Food is fine but the service is a headache so I now use elsewhere.

Most McDonald's have got rid of the tills in favour of the self order screens. Toilets were clean. Most of the seating now hard maybe so it's easier to clean on the expense of comfort. Could do with Usb charge points for longer student visits.

No one can deny that a trip to Mcd's satisfies the inner child in everyone. The breakfast range is my personal favourite. This particular Mcd's is renowned for short changing you at the drivethru. Always check before you drive off. Yet again short changed, a burger missing, and considering we had to wait nearly 10 minutes in Bay 2 it was all cold. 😡😡

Never have milkshakes, machine is always ‘broken’

The fries were cold and the staff need to concentrate on keeping the place up to scratch instead of standing there talking because when i went to put my rubbish in the bin it was full.

Shocking service, when to the drive thu. When getting home after waiting 20 minutes for food to be ready, half of it was missing, no straws for the drinks and the food that was there was stone cold. They don’t even answer the phone so you can complain.

It always amazes me how variable these massive fast good chains are! One burger was fresh and nice. One was old and soggy. Chips were fresh ish but overly salted. Went to one in Maldon last week. It was all cold, old and inedible. How hard is it? Seriously?? It's not a Michelin starred restaurant. It's cheap fast food. It can't be that hard to atleast make it hot and fresh-ish! What with hiking the prices too!! Come on Mcdonalds TRY and do the bare minimum well, eh?!

Must be the slowest drive-through in the UK. The one at Boreham is busy, but much more efficient.

The place has been refurbished very smart. We had takeaway the service was quick and we got the food home hot.

One of the worst McDonalds I've been to in my time. Going to a McDonalds, you don't expect fine dining and what you don't expect is a wall covered in flies. The interior is very dated, no ability to self order or use the app. The cook in the back of house started arguing with the poor front of staff Infront of employees, if it made the customers uncomfortable, how does it make the colleagues feel? Overall, a very poor McDonalds.

It was like waiting into a McDonalds from 10 years ago, no ability to order yourself. Very dated interior, wasnt very clean on and under the tables (despite having a 5star council food rating). Food was very average, bit overcooked compared to normal expectations.

Worse place to uses the drive through. I'm allergic to cheese. Even ask when ordering not to put cheese in the burger, I get it home and there's cheese in it lucky I looked. So I spent money on a meal I can't eat. Worse place ever I'll not bother again.

This restaurant seems far behind the other local restaurants… you have to order from the till and wait, food took 10 mins roughly, they forgot to pack our nuggets so had to go back up to request them. Not particularly clean inside. It was very busy and seemed pretty stressful so can’t complain to much but I’d probably visit a different branch next time

Best coffee in town and the best price.

Ordered 30/40 mins before breakfast actually ended, waited for over half an hour only to have them decline my order because it took them too long to get to it and apparently that meant I couldn't have the breakfast anymore and then they eont even bother answering their phone when I spend 10 minutes waiting for them to answer for an explanation. Worst McDonald's put there.

It's a simple business model with consistent food. Expected service. Ample free parking with seating inside and some benches outside. Air conditioning was not doing anything (or off) despite it being a hot evening. Convenient for local shopping and Riverside visits. Will return when necessary.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! My daughter (12) has just suffered the worse food poisoning I’ve seen from a McDonald’s milkshake. She said it had an unpleasant taste but had drank most of it before I took it from her. The milkshake machines are obviously not cleaned properly, therefore creating a breading ground for bacteria. Please be cautious if noticing an unpleasant smell/taste.

Yet again “can you park in bay 1”. I don’t think I’ve ever got my order at this drive through without having to wait. Still the slowest franchise going!! Get a new manager to sort this place out.

Excellent service. We were well looked after here's. This McDonald's is always a pleasant place to visit..staff are polite..the restaurant is busy but never too busy that you can't get served of sit down.

It's a mcdonalds, so expectations were not high as I waited in line for a chocolate milkshake, the only thing I wanted from this establishment. Low and behold! "Sorry sir the milkshake machine is broken" aww fair enough I muttered as i walked away pining for creamy chocolate goodness. The staff are young and try their best which is a plus from me, but the milkshake machine never works!

This place is always filthy in the mornings. Toilets are a disgrace, toilet roll and urine all over the floor, walls and toilets. Dining area not much better. Filthy sticky floor, tables not cleaned.

Constantly missing ingredients. Almost every time ordering drive trough breakfast meal the burger is missing cheese or sausage or egg. Obviously no one cares to check what they’re doing.

24.03.23. Came into McDonald’s with 2 friends for a quick meal. Only to hear who I presume was a manager shouting, and being rude to all of his staff. He wore black glasses, with a man bun (bun on top, shaved sides). It wasn’t busy at all, so all customers could clearly hear him shouting and speaking rudely to all staff. It was very uncomfortable- and I felt dreadful for the staff. - very demoralising.

Everytime I order something online from this mc donalds there always something missing , the staff there don't seem to care neither, when ever I take my children in there to eat ,the fries are always cold or something missing , I given this place loads of chances, think I sooner walk that bit further to the one in Central Chelmsford,

The food did take a while to be prepared and it was not their busy time, staff seems disinterested, had a lot of teens coming in & out also playing football right outside the main door not good in my opinion 😏.

Just bought a chicken burger for my son got home had no chicken had a slice of cheese instead I’m absolutely disgusted the drive-through is a disgrace they never get orders right and to leave the actual chicken at the Bun is just ridiculous I’m expecting some kind of compensation let’s wait and see what happens I’m sick and tired of wasting my diesel driving backwards and forwards where they continuously making mistakes please feel free to contact me with a reply

The milkshake and Mcflurry machine has been broken for over 4 weeks the service is slow. This week the food was hot and fresh but had to wait

Useless. Absolutely useless. I don’t even know why we bother coming here on the way home. They are always forgetting items, the icecream/milkshake is never put on, the long queues for the take away is ridiculously slow and inefficient. Today though they forgot the chicken nuggets in my sons meal. He’s autistic and was already agitated from the queue, that wasn’t long at all but somehow still managed to take them 20 minutes. When we got back home he had an absolute melt down as his food was missing and then we had to make him dinner instead of eating our own.

Signs for Drive through weren't very visible during busy times.

Normally quieter than the other maccers in Chelmsford, which is good if you want to get served quickly and can't be doing with too many people and their screaming uncontrolled brats, staff do like to argue amongst themselves though. No milkshake last time I went.

Absolutely awful, long wait, chaotic behind the counter. Staff didn't seem to give a flying fig that everyone can see and hear them. Girl serving couldn't even be bothered to look at us. Food was subpar, chips not salted, burger bun had mold on it. Tomato looked like it was on the turn, bins were overflowing, tables not wiped. You couldn't pay me to go back there.

Love this McDonald's, it was so clean, yet people were still going about cleaning. Light bright not dull and looking a tad grimey as some can. Staff were cheerey and friendly. And the coffee was beautiful.

I cannot believe I am reviewing a McDonalds, but it is SO bad, beware! We stopped off at Chelmsford Riverside en-route to our final destination, as my son wanted a toy only available in Smyths Toy Superstore. As it was coming up to lunchtime, we thought we’d get an early lunch and despite trying to persuade our 9 year old that a Costa bacon roll would be fantastic, he could not get the thought of a McDonalds out of his head once he’d spotted the Golden Arches in the middle of the Riverside complex! Firstly, I couldn’t believe there were no screens available inside to place your own order. I waited at the till for what seemed like an eternity, at least 4 of the staff had made eye contact with me, but then carried on doing their own thing. There were at least 10 staff milling around that I could count, probably more cooking. The drive through staff were clearly visible from the counter, with no cars going through they had nothing to do and just stood in a group laughing and joking around. Eventually I was served and placed my order, which included an order of a burger with no cheese, so I knew I’d have to wait a while for this specific order to be done. Whilst waiting, I continued to observe the party atmosphere behind the counter, customers waiting ages to be served whilst the Just Eat/Deliveroo drivers waltzed in, grabbed their orders and went. The service was absolutely dire. Then the food…..once it finally arrived (one customer did say to me that the food is always slow to arrive in this restaurant) the burger with no cheese was in fact a cremated burger on its own in a burger bun. None of the other dressings or salad, which was not what was ordered. Every other McDonalds I have visited have always been able to produce a burger and just omit the placing of the cheese in the bun, this task was obviously beyond the intelligence level of the staff in this restaurant. By this point, we were tight for time, and I knew that there was no way I would get a new burger in the time we had available, so the rest of the party finished their food and we left. If ever I am in Chelmsford again, I will never visit this McDonalds. I actually feel sorry for the people of Chelmsford who have to put up with this. Maybe this was why the drive through was so quiet, the locals know better.

Popped in whilst I was on the retail park. No one apart from Uber delivery man waiting. Staff see you standing there and ignore you. The girl at drive thru was doing nothing so a guy was standing talking to her all the while looking my way. Three people serving one Uber man. A person came over, looked at the till and walked away again. Then a girl came and looked at the bit were the burgers are done and walked away. Absolutely disgraceful and I ended up walking out. The owner needs to sort this one out, and although all his are pretty bad, this is by far the worst in every single way.

Shocking service, wait times can sometimes be up to 30-40 minutes despite being "fast food". Staff and management are consistently disorganised, food is often not cooked well, and they often forget sauces, napkins and straws. Awful McDonald's.

I haven't been into a McDonald's for a long time now and I was very disappointed with this place. It was busy but I don't think they have any excuse for the state of the place the bins were overflowing and customers were putting the rubbish on the floor around the bins. The toilets weren't particularly clean. There wasn't any napkins or straws available as they hadn't been refilled. Needless to say I won't be visiting this shop again anytime soon. To be fair to the staff I think that they are trying to provide to many services like eat in and take away and home dilivery and they obviously haven't got enough staff to do all this work.

i have recently ordered through the drive thru at riverside McDonalds Chelmsford and they gave the wrong order and double charged me, no refund has gone through in which the manager said they would process a refund. there was only 2 cars in front of me and the order also took almost an hour. I have called up 2 days later as both the transactions have gone through as a double payment (see image) and they refused to give me a refund i want a refund immediatly the McDonalds branch was Riverside retail park chelmsford. The manager said i could have a refund over the phone however the person i talked to would not allow that. So i pretty much was robbed and lied to about money going through Please sort this mess out this is illegal and something needs to be done about it

Food was wrong order and cold. Customer service didn’t even do anything about it. NEVER GO HERE AGAIN
