McDonald's in Chelmsford

Always get food wrong in drive thru. Have to ask for stirrer and sugar when ordering hot drinks. And McDonald's has got really expensive.

OK, refurb does look ok. They have given the delivery people a separate collection area. Now its difficult to see who gets served first. There is more waiting area for the walk in customers and the seating looks like it has been reduced down stairs. I'm not sure as I didn't count the seats before and after. All in all still a useful place to stop, at least they got the order correct.

I went this Mcdonalds with friends and we ordered some cheese side and vege Burger . The food was amazing and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant I would like to go often as it has a massive place on upstairs to spend some quality time with friends and family.

I don't know what they've done to the burgers they look 🤔 different they look like leather brioche I prefer them when they were like rubber and the fries 🍟 have gone so thin

Hate the place, EVERY order is wrong, staff want you to drive back into the drive thru because they messed your order up. You get sent to grill parking but nobody comes out, you have to go in after 10 minutes to find your order is sitting there cold. I would drive 20 miles to avoid using this place. Replace all staff and it might be useable

It's McDonald's and clean with no overflowing bins. So that's worthy of 4*s surely.

McDonald's you can't really go wrong. There breakfast is always fresh and tasty. Also if your into your hash browns unlike other branches they don't taste of dish soap, in other words the kitchen is cleaned properly, always a good sign for the start of your day. Update to the above, been back with the new breakfast wrap 🌯 and the porridge, my expert porridge eater informs me this is the best porridge in the Chelmsford area.

During my visit, I observed multiple customers returning due to order inaccuracies. If you prefer cash payment, it can be inconvenient as the till position is not consistently manned. There was overflowing bins and litter in the outside areas. This McDonald's branch needs improve its operations.

Ordered via drive through asked to wait in the car park. Complained about not receiving my order after some time. Management refunded my order which is great but not the hour I wasted there :( i will not be going there again.

Ordered breakfast for 2 only for it to be wrong AGAIN i seriously have no clue how you can mess up a simple order so badly. I do believe no one here can even read as its such a simple task to read a recipt and add it to a bag. One roll didn't even have any sauce in it. The other had red instead of brown. HOW!? CANT EVEN GET COLOR RIGHT.

Food is nearly always the same standard, definitely fresher than most I visit.

The person on the drive through was a happy sole,not,and once again had to take food back as it had cheese in that was told not to put in,this is not the first time this has happened,no milkshakes on the menu once again,this is what we come to expect from McDonald's.

The drive thru always has a queue and always told to wait in a bay round the corner.

I had veg burger here and it was the best. Normally it’s rock solid elsewhere but here it was fresh.

I know it's only a mcdonalds but the food was lovely which is something to be said for some maccie d's

I came into the store today with my family and was very impressed. It was so clean with a welcoming atmosphere, Rosie and Abby were so helpful and friendly. The food was so fresh and hot everything was perfect would definitely recommend coming here.

very lovely place to have dinner

My boyfriend and I had a great dinner at the McDonald's on Westway last night. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. The staff members were so friendly and welcoming - our cashier Levi in particular gave us excellent service with a smile. Our food came out fast and fresh. I really enjoyed my Quarter Pounder meal - the burger was hot and juicy and the fries were perfectly salted. My boyfriend loved his Big Mac too. For a fast food place, everything tasted great. We also appreciated how attentive the staff was in keeping the dining room tidy. They seemed to be constantly cleaning tables and restocking napkins/utensils. The restrooms were spotless too. Overall we were very impressed with this McDonald's location. The great service, delicious food and clean facilities made it an enjoyable dining experience. We'll definitely be coming back again soon and will recommend it to our friends as well. Thank you for running such a nice establishment!

The best McDonald's in Chelmsford! 9 times out of 10 no issues with my order, and on the occasion there has been something missing or not correct it's been sorted straight away. The car park is a bit small for how popular this Mcdonalds is, and at peak times you might struggle to find a space, especially with delivery drivers who park wherever they please. There is a disabled toilet downstairs which I think you request a code for, and ladies and men's toilets upstairs.

Drive through poor. Been around 8 times milkshakes not available for any of them. Food is usually barely warm. No napkins or salt. Poor ! Never again

This store is one of the best McDonald's I have ever seen! Always clean and fast food provided. I have seen their customer service is one of the best 👌 On the day off normally o go with the family and best calm place to spend upstairs, it's huge space there and quiet environment! Definitely recommend you to ahbe a look!

I can't remember the last time I had such a good time in a McDonald's. Since the moment I entered the restaurant and was greeted by a staff member until we received our order at the table, everything was perfect. The place was spotless, the food was delicious, we like customising our burgers and they were spot on and they went above an beyond to accommodate my son's needs. I will definitely come back here and can't recommend it enough!

Absolutely horrendous !!! Even at 10.30 pm when this store is quiet the food is still cold , ordered large fries with my meal and looked more like small and when my wife asked the mcdonalds person if he would change them for hot fresh large fries he argued with her then laughed and walked off . She then spoke to the manger and she changed them but the coffee was luke warm and the food was cold ! I've travelled around England and had food from different mcdonalds and I think this is the worst one I've encountered ! It doesn't seem to matter what time you go there the food is cold and unappealing and coffee is luke warm ! Why are other mcdonalds getting it right but this one is so poor

Food missing + plus part of burger - went back Manager refused to accept food had been prepared in this way. I complained to mcdonald's and the manager stated I had been been swearing at her- this was a complete and utterly lie

I know it's supposed to be fast food but when you order breakfast and it says ready to collect on the screen so you ask them and they say it's not ready yet, so you wait 5 mins and it's still not ready, you finally get your meal and the main part of it is cold toe this is not fast

Blood stain on my napkin. Staff members need to be mindful of their hands when handling packaging and extras as they could contaminate the food. Was not touching my food so no need to make a scene. Otherwise I have always enjoyed the food and service at this MacDonalds.

The burger was dine but the hot chocolate which is what I eeally went for was just tasteless brown hot water, no flavour whatsoever completely and totally disappointed . First and last ever visit to this particular branch of McDonald's !!!

Long delay in getting food despite it being standard menu items! So in the end the coffee was cold, and the Fruit snack was missing! I had already gone through drive through so I miss out!

Great place. It's quite small compared to most MC Donald's I have been to, so getting a parking space can be tricky. Plus points. Always clean and staff are helpful and friendly.

Disgraceful that a fire door was locked and an just eat driver parking on yellow hash markings so people couldn't get passed on a crossing. Other than that even though it was busy food came quickly and staff where pleasent.

Our first visit. This is a very busy site. I only used the drive thru. There was a misunderstanding with our order, this was put right, very quickly. The staff were very apologetic. Plenty of parking onsite.

Ordered via drive through. Drove to first window to pay, sent to 2nd window to collect and notice immediately I was not given the correct number of dips I requested. Told them I wanted 2 of each flavour. Apparently it was not on my order and I needed to drive to the 3rd window and wait, which I did for 5 minutes. Supervisor came to the window with my food order and said I needed to pay for dips but only £1 cash was acceptable which I did not have as paid via apple pay. I drove away with not the correct number of dips and then found out my cheese dips I purchased for £2.59 was not in the bag, however I had the salsa dip in the bag which is free with the non existent cheese dipppers. Yet again poor ordering service and missing items from McDonald’s.

Yet again something missing off my order😤. Happens nearly every time I use the drive through and they bring the food to me in the car park. Maybe you should let people check you’ve put everything in the bag they payed for before running off.

Place my order on the app for collection when arrived I was waiting 15mins for my food when it said it was ready to collected staff were rude, a staff member just finished he’s shift and ordered he’s food straight and got served whiles i was still waiting. The food was cold and when sending it back they were like sorry we have already made it you got to have now!!! I’m sorry but paying for food that’s cold it’s acceptable

This is a smashing McDonalds. I'm not brilliant with technology and the staff were there, immediately to help me order. Brilliant.

A nice mcdonald's with play equipment for kid's, it was very busy even on a weekday lunchtime. Only 1 car park space. Service was quick (via app), food arrived fresh and hot. Had the philly cheese stack that was nice, very Cheesy, but still no match for the big tasty.

I've placed a pickup order on MC Donald's app and I arrive at the restaurant. They say that we don't serve no more. If you want the refund contact just eat. How can just eat refund me when I placed the order on MC Donald's app. And when asked with what information should I contact just eat the manager (OANA) asked me to Google the email of just eat. when I saw the faqs on MC Donald's app it says contact the restaurant they'll sort out. And she's saying me to Google it. Simply pathetic. The order number was 002 it shows on the screen and she's sayin refund can't be done ask just eat. Unless I place the order on just eat how will I ask just eat for refund. That doesn't make any sense to me. I won't say anything wrong abt the shift manager bcoz she was atleast patient and she clearly had no idea what to do. The main manager OANA idk if whatever she said was actually true or just a bluff. I said ok I'll mail just eat and wait for one week if I get no answer I'll come back and she says no we can't do anything. Btw it was 24 hours McDonald's. Looks like a new scam tbf.

It was good wait time is a bit long and Is sort of dog friendly, however there is no dog bowls. good play area for kids tho

Avoid, should be closed down. Very rude staff. ordered from drive thru late at night after a long journey. Got home to find we had been given McSpicy in a McCrispy box for our elderly friend who bit into it and it made her quite ill. We were exhausted and too tired to drive 5 miles back to get it rectified. I phoned in the next morning, they were very rude. I asked to speak to a Manager and was told someone would call me back, which didn't happen.

Visit quite regularly only had a couple of problems but always sorted straight away always clean and tidy I don't think atmosphere comes into it as you're not spending a romantic evening there

This McDonald’s seriously needs to be visited by trading standards. Food is hot at best and half of the meal doesn't even turn up. Worst McDonald’s by far. Should seriously think about re staffing as your current staff are incompetent and can’t even get an order right. I know I would get jogged on if I got this much wrong in my work so why is it so acceptable here. We need a zero star button just for this embarrassing restaurant. Pathetic

Went lunchtime on a Saturday and the car park was very busy but parked to eat in, ordered my food and there were plenty of empty table, used bring to table and the food arrive within a couple minutes. Looked tidy. Drive thro was busy.

Everything was good, apart from receiving a parking fine of £100 because we were parked in the car park for nearly 2 hours?!! I never knew there was a time limit for McDonald’s? We moved my son up to Chelmsford that day, and had abit of time to kill, so just chilled and ate our food in McDonald’s. Are the signs about parking time limit even visible??

Like any average. Enjoy the great non-bad attitude towards ♻️. But often, we had to have our food delivered outside & not at the drive-thru; maybe, it is kinda busy.

I gave up visiting this McDonald’s as not very helpful staff, however my daughter ordered on the app and went to collect. Given half the order to start with so had to ask for rest. When she got home had paid for 2 large chips amongst other things, but only given medium and the two McFlurrys needed a magnifying glass to locate the caramel sauce. Didn’t bother phoning because they never accept they are wrong and won’t refund even though they overcharge. McDonald’s really need to sort out these ones that they franchise out as they really are the worst

Surprisingly welcoming. Kids loved the space upstairs. And the large windows allowed the kids to look out rather than feeling confined.

Did a just eat order, the “manager” was rude and unreasonable as the food was not delivered to us, despite the fact that the app said that it had been. He refused to reaupply the order we had placed, spoke over my wife and then hung up on her! Awful do not use!!!

Actually i want to give this people 0 ratings but there is no option....(google plz add zero rating option as well in this google maps) .... i waited for all most 1 hr still they gave me wrong order. I told them earlier I am allergic to cheese and still they have put cheese in my burger. And manager were very rude about changing my order.

You can't even use the toilets!!!!! At 8o'clock in the evening, all the toilets are locked, and you have to ask for access, which I find it ridiculous!!! Their response being that " the upstairs area is closed and they are doing cleaning. "... Worst Mcdonald ever!!!!

Its Mac donalds. Same as the rest of the world. Only thing that could be better would be to clean the toilets more often.

Nice restaurant with plenty of seating

Clean and food served promptly at the table assessable plugs and wireless charging for mobile phones updated review July 23 of drive through this MacDonald's post pandemic seems to have supply issues regularly not having milkshakes and on several visits no ice creams. This results into the need to drive into town to get the full order. Get better at stock control and you will get more of my business.
