Lovely atmosphere, good service and great food. We will definitely return. The garden looks beautiful too despite the rain!

Highly recommend this place for food. Roast dinners are good sizing and worth the price . Chicken burger is so filling too. Maisie our waitress was amazing and so attentive. Good pricing , good food and atmosphere.

What a lovely experience. The surroundings are lovely, really clean . The staff are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, we had beef brisket hash it was lovely. The coffee was also lovely. I would 100% recommend and will be going back for sure!

Currently sitting in here now and what an awful experience we’ve had! The manager is rude and shouldn’t be front of house! If we dared ask for anything it all seemed too much for her. The food is mediocre and all meals and drinks were warm. Overpriced and wouldn’t recommend.

Watch out I park in the car park of 45 minutes while having a coffee in the bar, got a £60 parking fine, no clear signs saying anything about paying for the parking. Will not be calling again

Molly was amazing she served us and she was so attentive always made we had a drink, food brought out hot and you could tell she was happy to do it! Absolutely perfect!

Enjoyed a lovely dinner,with friends, at this newly refurbished country pub. Located in a tranquil, rural setting on the outskirts of South Woodham Ferrers, with plenty of outdoor seating, alongside a large pond. The main farmhouse dates back to the 17th century and oozes country charm. It has been extensively and considerately renovated to provide a perfect setting for dining or drinks with friends. The servers were friendly and efficient. I can highly recommend thier Moroccan spiced chicken skewer from thier Signature collection. There is plenty of parking but remember to input your registration at the bar machine to avoid a fine, Pre booking a table is also recommended.

Welcome was ok and were told table for 9 was ready. Arrived at 6.15 went to table about 6.30. We were still waiting for first course at 7.20. Seemed not enough staff all round. Our waitress was friendly and helped to get a hand held fan for one of our guests who was pregnant. It was extreme;y hot in the restaurant and apparently the windows do not open! The meals were nice and hot but again a long long wait before the second course arrived. Had to ask waitress a couple of times as to where our food was.

Food was very nice. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Service was excellent- our waitress - Molly - was lovely, so helpful and attentive. Good amount of time between courses and never felt rushed. Will definitely return 😊

Friday evening, rammed to be expected, but tables for 2 had no privacy , we were sat next to a couple and it felt intrusive, we booked for 7.45 ordered our food but did not get this until 9pm, 1 hour 15 min wait. Duck and spring onion pizza at £17 , was over priced , half of outskirts unedible as dry and rock hard with little topping, we asked for extra toppings to be added , it was tough and poor quality, the chicken kebab was not very hot, and sides added were ok, me chicken parmigiano was ok but had a watery tomotoe sauce and was covered in what look like a bechamel white lasgne sauce and no melted cheese at all , the side salad was a pile of rocket with a few onion strands on , i was very dissapointed with the meal, the only one of us whose meal was good was the pulled pork with chive mash .... we didnt have desserts as by the time the main course turned up it was very late... the pub/restaurant itself was lovely and our setver Molly again was couteous, and attentive thank you Molly , we will not be going back unless it is to try a sunday lunch ......come on chef, need to do better.

Came in for sunday lunch, we were served by Molly, she was absolutely brilliant very attentive and knew what she doing despite being busy, the food was incredible definitely a huge improvement to a few years ago would absolutely recommend

We regularly attend this venue but on this occasion were severely disappointed. We arrived a little early and apologised but told our table was ready even tho we said we were happy to wait. We ordered our meal and although extremely tasty the sauce on one plate was very lumpy and visually detracted from the meal. When asked if we wanted dessert we said not yet but the menu was taken away. When we were ready we ordered our dessert. Just after placing the order we were told the table was wanted. This was Just 50 minutes after our booked time. We were told we could be moved to the bar when I said we had just ordered dessert. However we were then told we could stay. Not a very pleasant way to be treated and it has definitely affected the way we think about this place which is so local for us. Bad customer service.

I never write reviews but just had to today after an amazing lunch at Shaw Farm! We tried the chicken skewers with different sides and we were not disappointed! Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked and well presented. This place has raised the bar, service also excellent (thank you Lisa!). We’ll be back soon.

We came for a celebration lunch for my mums birthday. It had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and the pub has been done up very nicely. The food was fresh, hot and cooked to perfection. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Our waitress Karina not only gave a great service but managed to entertain our one year old for our third trip to this great establishment. The food is very very good and priced well for a great evening out. Would 100% recommend.

Possibly our worst meal in the uk today 2 couples in our 70s. We complained and 3 meals were knocked off the bill. Sorry as a local will never visit again. Fish and chips ordered but no fish burnt batter and chips same old apology sorry, the kitchen knew exactly what they were serving up not surprised the pub was empty, that should have been a warning. Just had a wonderful Sunday lunch at Shaw Farm Had advised them it was my daughters 18th Birthday and had such wonderful time From the moment we arrived we were treated really well and our allocated server Karina was very helpful and pleasant We also had a wonderful surprise with the Chef James and the team bringing out a beautiful dessert and singing happy birthday - Can imagine a lot of work had gone in to creating that dessert - it was a work of art This really was a lovely gesture and much appreciated We will certainly return and can recommend without hesitation

The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. We had a three course meal which I couldn’t fault. The starters were enough to leave you enough appetite to enjoy your main meal. The service from Katrina was very friendly and professional and I would recommended this venue to everyone. There was a nice atmosphere made up of families and couples. Can’t wait to return.

Went in for lunch as recommended by a member of the family, the restaurant area was cold, l was told by a member of staff that she didn’t have time to bleed the radiators. End up putting my winter jacket on. My wife and I ordered sausages and mash but was swimming in gravy. Totally unacceptable chef needs retraining, you put gravy in a jug and served separately. A bad experience that won’t be repeated 1/10 for this visit
