Firstly the 2 star EHO sticker in the window is somewhat concerning, however the fact on the EHO website it is marked with a 1 star is confusing! The food is consistently inconsistent. Some visits is OK others not. Generally the restaurant and toilets need some attention to detail regarding cleanliness and the staff although polite, struggle to communicate effectively. Its a shame really as Newtown struggles for decent restaurants. I would need to see at least 3 stars for me to visit again.

The Reedcutters was the mid point on our walk while holidaying in Norfolk. We had a warm welcome and a substantial lunch, good old fashioned pub grub. No complaints at all, it's a 'what you see is what you get' kind of pub, nothing fancy but friendly, clean and good value 👍

Went here for a carvery at 5pm on a Monday … everything had been ‘kept warm’ since first opening the day. No meats joints on view and had to say which meat we wanted at the till when ordering .. got served with two very miserly half slices of obviously reheated dry meat (asked for more and was given one more half slice very grudgingly). Little jugs of luke warm gravy and lukewarm vegetables (some had run out). Yorkshire pubs were so hard they were difficult to cut ! Overall definitely not worth the money at this time of day at least !

Popped in for lunch after our excellent boat trip on Liana next door. Clean & welcoming with super fast service. We both had the leak & potato soup. Piping hot, perfect consistency with bite size lumps of potato plus strips of leak. It needed absolutely no seasoning, a superb taste, with bread & butter. We agreed probably the best we’ve ever had! Many thanks!!

Really nice breakfasts with a large breakfast menu. My go-to is the build your own breakfast where you pay per item and it's really reasonable. The staff are very chatty and friendly and accommodating. I always take some cake from their display, home as a takeaway. I've been there three times in the last few weeks and will be back again.

A great find, while looking on Google Maps, to find somewhere for breakfast on our way to a nearby aviation museum. Where we had been staying doesn't do breakfast, and so we needed somewhere nearby to eat. This cafe is great, very popular, and it was obvious why. The menu was great, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Will definitely choose to eat here again when next up in Nofolk

We went here at the beginning of a weekend away. Unfortunately it was a really disappointing meal. We rang to order & were told it would be ready in half an hour. We arrived at that time but still had to wait. We weren’t offered salt & vinegar and when we checked were told we had to request it when placing the order! The chips were pale and undercooked. I wouldn’t go again!

We was had just handed the boat back across the river and the four of us thought we would go over the bridge to get some breakfast We sat inside waiting to be served then after about 15 mins a member of staff came over to ask us what we would like we asked first for two teas and two coffee’s which we we’re then told they had no milk to make them so we decided to drive into Great Yarmouth and get some breakfast there as we wanted drinks with the breakfast

I booked this as part off the Norfolk Restaurant Week. From my initial phone call up to the end of the meal, the customer service was excellent. I believe the young man who I spoke to on the phone and who welcomed us and took the order was called Ben. I think he is the manager? He is a total asset to this business. The food. The deal is a set menu. I am vegetarian and was very happy that the food was interest. I had Onion Bloom to start, which was very nice. I then had Risotto, possibly the best I have had. The end a Creme Brûlée with caramel ice cream and lemon shortbread. Delicious and not a scrap left! My companion was equally pleased with her meal. Really, if you can, go and treat yourself.
