Very poor. Nothing remotely authentic Spanish about it.
Seating all to close(outside of the window high tables) Food below average, croquettes clearly fried in days old oil, artichoke dish just didn’t work, patatas bravas were essentially 2 day old skin on roast potatoes with a bit of aioli, 3 overcooked prawns. On the plus side the white Rioja was ok….hence the 2 stars.
Won’t be rushing back.
First time here. Absolutely delicious. I had toasted sandwich while my friend had a small breakfast. Hmmmm it did say small but it was a big plate full.
All delicious.
Lovely people cooking and serving.
Very friendly.
We booked for a family lunch of 10 for our son's 30th birthday followed by bowling at Mr G's in Brandon. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing (or 'banging' as our grandson said 😄). We were bowling after lunch, which was a bit delayed, but we were kept informed which was fine. Lots of fun bowling too. Well done Mr G's we all had a fantastic time 👏.
Well done Team. Had the best experience. Needed brekkie after blood test. Smithfield brekkie excellent.
Staff friendly & welcoming.
Great to escape cafes with laptops & noisy web calls (very intrusive) which are too frequently present.
Our son and his partner had visited a couple of times, so we popped over for Sunday morning coffee and cakes.
I have no idea how we had never heard of this place as we live in Norwich and are always looking for new places to visit.
Totally amazing!!!
Fantastic selection of cakes and pastries, and none of them the normal run of the mill type. Pistachio seemed to be a there today, and the Pistachio bread was a new one on me.
Coffee is excellent, espresso quality is always the test for me, and this passed with flying colours.
Great little courtyard next to the farm, and a quaint indoor room as well.
We will definitely be back!
The service was very pleasant and helpful, and the place is clean and comfortable. There are mementos of the place's former incarnation as the Mustard Shopwhich adds interest. I thought the food was decent, but not exceptional, and perhaps some thought could be given to the presentation.
Still, it is well worth a visit.
I booked an afternoon tea for a friends birthday - but upon turning up found that there had been a technical glitch and the afternoon tea wasn’t available. Rather than just apologise for this IT error and fob us off - the manager went totally out of his way to make amends. We were treated like royalty. We opted for a lunch instead and the food was delicious. The service is outstanding and if you are lucky enough to sit outside you have a view of the heart of Saffron Walden while you eat. Truly recommend a visit here if you are in saffron Walden
My Dad and I visited the area to explore Rendlesham Forest’s UFO Trail (a dream of ours for a long time). When Googling restaurants in which to eat, Shapla came up as a top-rated place so we decided we’d give it a go.
The restaurant was lovely and cozy and we had a warm welcome. The restaurant was busy with customers but it wasn’t overly loud or rowdy.
Service was quick and the food was absolutely delicious (we both had the chicken balti masala, a lovely mix we have never come across before) and we loved that the waiters really took the time to chat to us about the local area.
Thank you, Shapla, if we ever happen to be in the area again, we wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
Popped up here recently while staying in the area, and what a lovely welcoming pub. Friendliest of bar staff/land lords, and customers. Sky sports licence, darts board, and a quality pint (at good value!). Will definitely be returning when in the area 🍻
Just a lovely little spot to stop for a snack, we only had a toasted cheese and onion sandwich along with coffees and it was lovely and the staff were delightful..
It started with a guy doing balloons in the car outside and ended with a drug deal in the middle of the road as we were pulling away. Not the restaurants fault to be fair but it gives you the idea of what a sh*t hole the area is.
Now the food. Carbonara was bland , beef rags over cooked and dry and pizza was average but a bit light on toppings.
1 st impressions was to leave wish we had. It was recommended by a guy I play football with. DC thanks mate it’s a carsey ! Never give me a recommendation again please.
