10/10 can’t not fault it here or the staff. Amazing venue with a great variety of food and drinks will be a shame to see it go

Popped in for lunch [on a Sunday with my vegetarian friend. Pub was busy but we still got a seat. Friendly bar staff and waitresses. I had fish and chips ( which was lovely!) And my friend had a vegetarian burger which she also enjoyed!) We come here quite regularly and would recommend it! £23.00 and we were fed and watered!

Food was ok but we were unable to enjoy our meal as part way through a group of 5 under 10 yr olds started ‘playing’ darts unsupervised right behind us. Parents and bar staff nowhere to be seen. Was so dangerous and at least one very small child (probably no more than about 5yrs old) was very nearly injured. We left shortly after as couldn’t trust where the sharp darts would fly next.

Been visiting here for years every week until a visit two weeks ago when we took family and my wife had the mix it up chicken which was raw in the centre. It was obviously undercooked in a rush as the incorrect chicken was bought out with coating and my Wife is gluten free. A real shame as I complained to Green King head office who said it would be investigated and csm back to me with reasons which had nothing to do with the way it was cooked. Please beware of any chicken dishes you order here as I have had under cooked chicken breaststroke on mixed grill not so long ago as well. Shame as won't be returning now

I went today with my daughter and granddaughter, we all enjoyed our food . I had gammon egg and chips, which also came with half a tomato, onions and peas. My daughter had the same, we didn’t eat the peas as they were far to hard. so may be better off not having them. The gammon was so beautiful and tender. And I would recommend buying it again. My granddaughter had chicken strips with chips, which she enjoyed, the place wasn’t very busy so we didn’t have to wait very long for the food to be cooked, I would definitely go again .

We had a booking tonight for 20+ people celebrating a family birthday. We had a great experience, we pre-ordered our food before we arrived and the service and quality of food was fantastic. The staff were really helpfull and we even had a game of rock and roll bingo where we won some free drinks 😊 well done team!

Booked a table for 10 to celebrate mum and dad's 60th wedding anniversary with the family and have to say - 10/10 to Tim and his team for looking after us. Perfect banter, nothing was an issue, pre-ordered food was served swiftly, food was hot and oh so tasty!! Perfect spot in the restaurant, decorated and well looked after. A great afternoon and thoroughly recommend a visit - we'll be back! Thank you

13 of us had a celebratory birthday meal here Sunday and had a really pleasant experience. I couldnt fault the food, the burgers are delicious and very well priced. The staff were polite, quick and attentive as we were well looked after. The place ahas come along way since being the Queen B. Look forward to returning again soon.

We had a great celebratory meal, made all the better by the great staff. Paige, our waitress, Sam, on the bar and Andy, the Assistant Manager. They treated us so well, decorated our table beautifully with the balloons & banners I had taken in. Even when I had returned my steak to be cooked a little more they did it with a smile on their faces. And, the complimentary bottle of prosseco for my parents was such a lovely gesture. If you haven't been yet, you really should, we already can't wait for our next visit.

I took my son for a mid week treat, food was hot and well cooked. I used the app to order, fast and efficient. Very COVID-19 secure. The waiter was brilliant he was kind funny and very professional, and a credit to Greene King, please employ more staff like him his name is lee and he is amazing. Please give him credit for representing your company so well.

A newly refurbished venue with a large food selection and drinks options. The staff cannot do anything more for you through out your visit and are COVID compliant. They are friendly and welcoming and prompt with service. I’ve visited several times as my parents live round the corner and have frequently dined here. There’s deals throughout the week and sport shown on the weekend. The options are varied from light lunches to huge challenges! (My friend has had the Big Mexican burger and struggled to walk after). I’ve frequently had steak here and find it to be of a great quality and cooked exactly as ordered. The Greene King app is easy to use and useful as I can selected allergies and intolerances. Plus I can reduce contact by having table service.I shall keep returning as I have decided that this is one of my new favourite venues in Chelmsford. Keep up the amazing work guys!

Came for lunch waited 40 minutes for the food to come out wasn’t even busy when it did arrive the wrong size meal came out we ordered XL but only the standard came out then waited another 15 minutes for the extra bits by then we had finished our meals so asked for a takeaway box so we could take home for the dog service was very slow we have visited before and had a great time but this time round was not so great doubt I will return any time soon need to sort out the service

Absolutely wonderful experience visiting this restaurant. We rang at 4pm to book a table for that evening - for 7 of us! Wishful thinking! They said they could accommodate after moving a few things around, we arrived late (they must have hated us!) but the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful, it’s been redecorated and is lovely. We sat down, ordered our food on the Greene King app which was really simple. Drinks came straight away, food wasn’t too far behind. It was all hot and delicious. More drinks and desserts to follow which we’re just as quick. Excellent service, excellent food & excellent staff - all on the hottest day of the year! Well done team - we will be back!

Absolutely love the new refurbished look. We used the app to order our drinks and food. We did not have a very long wait either. The food came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious! Cannot fault anything. The staff were very welcoming and talked us through the process. We especially took a liking to Rhys who was just superb! Lovely and friendly and went that extra mile for you. Whilst being a local. The bar has been refurbished to a excellent standard. ( new TVs sky bt sport and many more ) the food area is so clean and tidy that should all be proud The service is second to none. The bars staff welcoming and all with a smile on there face(unless your me lol ). Victoria happy to help with any requests you may have. Jade welcoming happy and available for advice on drink and food selection. So over all a unbelievable experience. Well priced friendly incredibly clean and a warm welcome awaits anyone the dares to enter.

Visited yesterday with friends, was shocked at how quiet it was.The food was ok but when a menu gives you an option of an XL plate you’d expect it to be pretty large. I had the surf, turf and cluck, 2 tiny chicken fillets, I’d question if it really was an 8oz steak (which was way over cooked and tough- asked for medium) and 5 small pieces of scampi, not sure about a large portion of chips either. My husband had the XL chip shop special and again a few bits of scampi and a mediocre piece of fish. Dessert was also disappointing, half of the things on offer were not available ( again I’d understand if it was a busy) our friend asked for strawberries for her daughter but you’ve guessed it, none available.....this pub is next to a supermarket!! And The Epic Choctastic Sundae....nothing epic about it! The description said generous scoops of ice cream and there was 3 scoops and a very small bit of cream on the top, it wasn’t worth the money and definitely nothing epic about it!!We went there as Essex pubs lack a lay areas for children and this does have a good area for them and as it was quiet we were able to stay longer than the hour so this was a good point.The chances are we probably will return purely for the ply area but we shall choose carefully from the menu!

Came here months before and food was very cold for all 3 of our meals so we got a full refund as didn’t want to eat cold food. Came back today after hearing ‘ new menu’ absolutely disgusting ! wouldn’t ever come back found hair in food also very unclean cutlery, tables and glasses. food taste microwaved And our whole meal was wasted, would give it 0/5 if I had the chance to 1 is at a massive push! Staff are also very rude, our starter was thrown on table and she went. Also bar staff stood behind bar rolling a cigarette .... Also they had BARELY any food. Everything we wanted was ‘ run out ‘

We were looked after and all had great meals. It was my fathers 80th birthday and he felt very spoilt.

Having had a very disappointing experience just over a year ago, we gave the Queen B another chance as friends had been earlier in the week and enjoyed it.Pleasingly, our experience was much better this time around! The food came quickly and was cooked perfectly. You get a lot for your money, but it isn't 'cheap and cheerful'. I had the Big Daddy burger - a year ago the meat was dry and overcooked, but this time it was juicy and tasty. My son had the steak and ale pie, a large pie which he must have inhaled because it was gone so quickly! My wife had nachos and a salad and she loved it too. The place also looked a lot cleaner than before too. My only slight gripe would be that the place felt a little cold (and I don't usually feel the cold).Happy to say that the Queen B is back on our rotation of places to eat - keep it up please!

Having been here on numerous occasions. Our last trip on 2nd Nov may be our last. We had booked our table (11) as done in the past but unfortunately the service etc was below par. Having gone to the bar to order food I was told that they did not have any soup as per the gluten free menu and didn't offer an alternative. Starters came out for those that had ordered them but then when they brought the mains out the plates were still in front of us having not been cleared. We had to move these to one side in order for the mains to be put down.Having finished those, the plates from both courses were still sitting on the table. Staff were clearing other tables but never came to ours which is unacceptable. My husband spoke to the manager when he appeared who said that it was not the norm but the he and the server behind the bar cleared our plates. This was not the most enjoyable evening which was a birthday celebration. I think they either need more staff or need to train those they have better.

Had a lovely dinner, only bad point was there was a dog in the restaurant area that wasn't a working dog & we had a very confused server that forgot which stake was well done & which was medium rare, also got the desserts wrong but did apologise & sorted the problem straight away.

14 of us turned up without booking and we’re made very welcome. Food was great value and tasty. Staff very helpful and friendly
