Grange in Chelmsford

Megan and Leah were really good, so was the chef. Had a good, sensibly priced meal.The menu was quite varied with the specials. Good experience. We come to Chelmsford every 3 months and stay at a Premier Inn. We'll stay at the Boreham one again and eat at the Grange. Thanks

Working in the area for a couple of days. Visited Grange hoping for reasonable pub grub, what I got was a really good meal and great service from a lovely lady called Mel. Will definitely visit again.

Server was Mel - very friendly and helpful! Food was great - only minor gripe if I had to say something was cauliflower was way too hard and on toast dinner too much cabbage, would love more the carrot and swede mash (winner winner chicken dinner-although no chicken loll) and less cabbage! Overall fantastic food and service and well worth a visit! 9.5/10

A lovely place and the landlord Cameron is such a genuine and nice guy and obviously passionate and committed to making his pub as hospitable as possible. He was the most welcoming landlord I have encountered in many a year. Good luck to you in your career

We were staying at the Premier Inn and this pub is no longer owned by Whitbread and is now a Greene King one. After arrival at the Premier Inn we went over to the Grange for a drink and were given a warm welcome by Megan. She also booked us a a table for the evening. Again, a warm welcome in the evening by Megan. Pretty good menu and the service, by Will, was excellent. I had a very nice grilled sea bass followed by the mini pud and hot drink. Cannot fault the food or service. Will definitely use again if we come to the area as extremely good value.

I had a lovely meal out last night with my family & great service from our waitress Mel. Great children’s menu plenty of choice for the very reasonable prices! Looking forward to return.

Visited the Grange for our wedding anniversary and had a really nice meal. The Lamb Rump special was lovely ( if a little bit heavy on grilled lettuce). Had a couple of pints of really nice Greene King Level Head. Service from Mel was great as we're the other staff. Atmosphere is very nice and felt relaxing and comfortable.

I was here Sunday, Will was so friendly and went above and beyond for us .Thank you so much for your help and service. Will definitely be back again.

Service and food were both outstanding. Greeted at the door, shown to our table and looked after from the minute we walked in. Drinks were on the table within 5 minutes Kim was lovely, constantly servingbus with a smile on her face. Then came the food, just wow. The starters ( we had squid and halloumi ) were delicious, hot fresh and plentiful. We then had steak and ale pie and Rump steak, both of which were piping hot fresh,delicious and once again served with a smile by Kim. I didn't have room for my chosen desert which has given me a great excuse to return! Many thanks to Kim and Pete(the chef). We will definitely be back.

Visited the Grange the other day and once again found both the service and food to be first class, I cannot think of any way it could be improved!

Great service from Kim, really nice decor and feel to the place & super location just off the A12 at Boreham roundabout all led to a great experience. Would highly recommend.

We had lunch here. i must say the waitress Kim was excellent, very friendly, attentive and hard working. although short of staff, she was serving, clearing and bar tendering and making sure all customers needs were met with a smile. I overheard a number of customers giving her well earned praise. she is a credit to the Grange.

We went for a lovely Sunday lunch at The Grange yesterday, the food was great and so was the service ! We all agreed that the prices were very good for the level of food and service provided. Three of us had the Triple roast and couldn't fault it all all, very tasty. Our waitress, Jac, was very efficient and friendly and very patient with our order, particularly with my elderly mother. ***** Five Stars *****

We decided to pop into the grange last minute, we hadn’t booked a table, but fortunately there was space. Me and my family had a lovely meal, which was really tasty and very reasonable price. The girls that served us was very attentive, friendly, and didn’t put a foot wrong ( Tilley, Gem & Ellie) Over all, good choice of food and drinks, all served with a smile, would recommend to anyone.

Enjoyed my cod and Chips served by Tilley who provided excellent service. The restaurant was very busy (Saturday Night) but the food arrived hot and ib perfect condition.

Prompt service, was made to feel welcome, by Gem. Overall I think The Grange is a great pub/restaurant, will be looking forward to my next visit.

We have been back twice in the last month. The service is friendly and quick. We have been to a few places in Chelmsford for a roast but so far this is our favourite.

Stayed in the premier inn, pleasantly surprised with a very quant pub with a lovely atmosphere. The special of the day menu was excellent. The customer service from Mel was second to none.

We explained to staff that we had unexpected time constaints when arriving for our meal. The staff went over and above to get our meal to us promptly. The food did not disappoint, it was delicious. We would fully recommend eating here.

Went here for food and drinks it was all outstanding can’t fault one thing. Waitress Ellie-Louise was lovely and friendly and wasn’t kept waiting long. Food we ordered was incredible, starters all the through to desserts can’t fault any of it,Highly recommend the chicken strips starter and our steaks was cooked perfectly. And also recommend the sharer dessert cheesecake was very tasty. Compliments to the chef’s Ricky, Pete and mason for faultless food. Will most definitely be retuning in future.

Stayed at the Premier Inn at Boreham which hosts a great onsite restaurant- The Grange. We had 2 great meals on 2 nights and one of the best cooked fillet steaks for quality of the meat and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend Ian the Head Chef, and many thanks to Adam the Manager and Katie the waitress whose hospitality throughout showed no bounds. Thank you, you made our stay so enjoyable.

Had a lovely visit, lovely staff and food was amazing, was lovely to get out again. One of the party loves the bakewell tart they wanted seconds! Could not fault Mel who was amazing and served us all night, Lovely lady. Would definitely come back again.

While staying at the Premier Inn, we had breakfast on 2 mornings at the Chef and Brewer. Jasmine who served us, greeted us every morning with a smile. She was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Due to Covid restrictions, table service is required and Jasmine worked so hard, taking our order and checking everything was alright. She ensured we had everything we needed and made us feel so welcome. It's so nice to get back to "normal" and eating out. Jasmine is an absolute asset to this restaurant and we would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Food was delicious and didn't have to wait too long, service by Kayleigh was excellent, would definetly return and recomend.

A technical hitch meant our booking had not been registered. However, we were still found a table in a good position. Our waitress Kayleigh was charming, attentive and genuinely interested in all conversation, not an easy thing to keep on doing in the catering trade. Our chefs Ian and Peter did a good job. Food fine, wine good, price reasonable and all happy.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Felt safe given currant pandemic. food was excellent and reasonably priced. You really need to bottle those sauces and dips.... Hate to admit but licked the white bbq sauce dip dish... Don't worry was my own dish not a sharing one. Equally as nice was the spicy Korean bbq sauce. Left feeling happy and full.

Couldn’t praise this pub/restaurant enough. Food was just gorgeous in a lovely safe atmosphere. This is our favourite family restaurant. We come at least once a month from Leigh-on-Sea. Never had a bad meal and can highly recommend for fantastic food and friendly welcoming staff.

We went back to the Grange tonight, first time since this last lockdown ended. As always food was lovely, currently serving a choice of festive and normal menu. The Grange offers a good selection of food at very reasonable prices. There is also a fixed prices option. Safety measures as per Covid guidelines are in place and adhered to without spoiling the atmosphere. Our waitress Kayleigh was lovely ( not the first time she has served us and she is always so happy). We will definitely be back and truly hope that the disaster that has been 2020 does not effect this lovely place.

We have just been in for a early dinner with our 10month old twins. Met by the lovely Kayleigh who couldn't have been more accomodating and friendly throughout the whole meal. The restaurant is so well set up to be safe and socially distanced. Food was excellent and we really appreciated the little things like putting the children's dinner on cooler plates. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Came here because we stayed at the Premier Inn next door, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Mel who was our server. Food and cocktails were delicious, and would highly recommend the pumpkin tart and the waffles!
