Such a wonderful place. The cakes and pastries are absolutely top notch. Also, usually find it difficult to get decent coffee in this country, but the coffee in Teles Patisserie is so good, really rich and flavoursome. Realky friendly people too. I'd fully recommend a visit.

We had a lovely visit to Tele's Patisserie. A lovely warm welcome from Ana, and Joakim also came out to say hello to us. We had a delicious Toastie to share, apple juice and lovely Portuguese cakes. We then opted to take some pastel de nata and Bola de Berlim home. These were beautifully presented in a take away box and tied with satin ribbon which made a lovely touch. The overall cost was very reasonable considering everything is homemade. We sat outside in the courtyard, which had some really cute quirky decor. Such a lovely place to go for a light lunch and some delicious pastries! We shall come back again soon.

Fantastic place for lunch! Very friendly staff, happy to describe the great range of Portuguese-inspired patisserie items on offer. Best toasties we’ve ever had, I’d say - my cheese & chorizo was super, with some finely chopped herbs giving it a real taste lift.

Visited this little gem as my husband had biked past and felt it an odd location to have a cafe, must be worth a visit; how right he was. We had a cup of tea and truly delicious tart, one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in a cafe, it’s restaurant standard without a doubt. The setting is unique and rustic the welcome from the host warm and welcoming a wonderful find will definitely be back..

We had lunch for two with cake and coffee. All exceptional quality and very delicious. The coffee was some of the best I’ve tasted locally. Good food served in a Portuguese way by a very hardworking, very friendly, Portuguese couple. Thoroughly recommend ed - especially those who like authentic traditional Portuguese dishes and cakes.

I won cream tea for 2 in a raffle. I invited another friend to join us. It is quite difficult to find and you have to drive up a very muddy road. Not a particularly warm welcome. We had to wait ages for a pot of tea and even longer for our first scone. A savoury one with a slice of avocado, smoked salmon and lettuce all on an incredibly dry scone. Next was a chocolate cover scone which was equally dry - we left most of the scones - the third one was a lavender cream scone which was a little less dry and edible. We asked for a second pot of tea which was fine. I pointed out that the scones were pretty awful as she could see by the amount that was left. When paying the bill I was told that they would not charge for the second pot of tea!!!!! We then asked to use the loo and all they offered was the farm loo which left an awful lot to be desired. I will not be returning.

A bit out of the way but we’ll worth the effort of finding this very special place. The food was delicious, it was beautifully presented, and portions were huge. And the prices were so reasonable. There are several outside tables all with sunshades to keep the sun off. All in all, we wished we had visited before the last day of our holiday.

Upon entering the cafe I was ordered to go back outside as there was already one person waiting. This person left and I was again told to stay outside until instructed to go in. I then waited for a considerable time while the lady serving prepared a large order of coffees and snacks. It was both uncomfortable and not at all friendly. There's a difference between being pleasantly asked and rudely told and that's the difference between me returning and not which is a shame because the food was actually very good.

We have visited Teles Patisserie on a number of occasions now over the past 18mths or more, and we are still as enamoured as ever. There is always something different to try, and Ana & Joaquim are always so welcoming and make each and every visit, whether is is for a Portuguese breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea (which really is spectacular), bespoke cakes for special occasions, delicious Christmas cakes or just simply a cake/pastry and coffee. I have read through some of the reviews left by others, and quite clearly people have no respect or patience for the measures Ana & Joaquim put in place to keep all safe. I would throughly recommend a visit to Teles Patisserie. It is advisable to call ahead and reserve a table.

Lucky enough to visit the beautiful and characterful Teles Patisserie again today. I feel really privileged to live locally enough to not only enjoy the great coffee (Ana knows just how I like it now!), drool at their magnificent (baked on the premises) pastries and have got to know the lovely owners who simply could not be more friendly or helpful. As one of the highly immunosuppressed folk, there are few places I can currently visit safely atm - but I never have any qualms about the Patisserie as Ana and Joaquim ensure all their customers are kept covid safe - indeed they have gone above and beyond to assist with supplies and providing those 'special occasion' cakes etc for customers throughout the most difficult of times. One of my favourite places and some of my favourite people

Love this place. Always a warm and friendly greeting and patience whilst you choose your order. The bread is fresh and tasty: the croissants and French tarts absolutely delicious. I ordered a lemon tart for Christmas.. Wonderful. A sharp taste of lemon beautifully prepared in a yule log shape that was unexpected. Their pastry is always perfect and light as a feather but in the tart you are only aware that it is a hidden part of the whole creation ... It has to be tried because I am failing to describe it. I'll be there again as soon as I can. Thank you to Joaquim for the wonderful patisserie and to his wife, Ana, for her guidance and advice. See you soon.

I was here the day 'utterly inhospitable' visited. Just to say their review is unjustified. Myself and my partner decided to stop by for coffee and cake after a walk.We waited to be seated on entrance and was completely ignored (one table was occupied) we assumed that it was table service and went to sit down only to be told by a woman, in the most belligerent manner, that we couldn't sit there as it hadn't been sanitized. She pointed to another table and said "sit there if you want".Said table was next to a very hot radiator so we decided to sit outside. She brought our coffees out and dumped them in front of us in a most unceremonial way. We decided to forego the cakes, paid and left.Needless to say, we shan't be frequenting this establishment again, nor recommending it to others.

Finally visited this Patisserie after wanting to for ages. Strange little set up as it’s on a working farm and it’s tucked round a corner which is a shame. Once inside it’s well done out but quite small with only a few tables. We liked the sourdough bread and the Pastel de Nata’s which were great. Everything so fresh and tasty but a little expensive, will visit again but for a treat. Fair play to the couple running it in this location.

Fruit tarts and salted caramel croissants were everyones favourites. Only negative was having to ask for extra teabags. We would all have rather had a regular pot of tea which could be refilled. But that was the only negative in a lovely meal. Thank you

Remember the song by Cliff? When we arrived on a boootiful sunny Sunday lunch time walk we expected difficulty in getting a seat but much to our surprise we were alone. Very neglected farmyard exterior which could be beautiful with some thought and care. Initially we thought it closed or abandoned but saw a clever in/out social distancing pathway made from car tyres, very much reminiscent of a Go Kart circuit. Stopped at the sign stating "wait here" and waited--and waited--finally took a tentative step forward to attract attention from within when "a voice from the wilderness" said, "you can come in"! Excellent track and trace system and everything shielded from customers including staff. No menu unfortunately so ordered from the colourful and inviting display. Had a wonderful apple croissant (hot) which was excellent and wife had a scone which was very much under par unfortunately. Coffee good and all served on disposables which was pleasing. IF the exterior was as nice as the interior I feel they would be swamped with business. Some nice tubs in the tyres and round and about would really enhance this lovely unique spot. The barn entrance cries out for 3 flags in suspension. One Portuguese, one British and one NHS. Solidarity and friendship in these unhappy times. Lovely little farm shop next door and nice walks roundabout so a good and quiet spot but would love to see some colourful and cheery welcome ideas.

Teles Patisserie has everything you want on a farm, countryside place. It is a friendly business where all costumers are made to feel part of the family. The service is customised and you feel like your opinion truly matters and is heard. The pastries are absolutely gorgeous and delicious and it is impossible to resist their Pastéis de Nata. On this particular visit we bought portuguese Mafra bread and it was just amazing. It lasted longer than shop bought bread without going stale or mouldy. Their sourdough bread is equally as delicious, specially when you buy it fresh out of the oven.Ana and Quim are fantastic and always go the extra mile for us. I definitely recommend it.

The Portuguese husband and wife who are running this cafe during exceptionally difficult times with the Covid19 requirements to be complied with, are doing an absolutely amazing job. It is well organised and Ana ensures all tables and chairs are sanitised after each use by customers. There is an efficient queuing system with hand sanitiser at the entrance door to the cafe, with a clear notice asking masks/face covering to be worn prior to entry unless you have an exemption for health reasons. The freshly prepared Portuguese chicken escalopes marinated in white wine, garlic and coriander inside a crusty roll (similar to a ciabatta) served with a refreshing salad was simply mouthwatering. The coffees were also good and very welcome. To round off our visit we had some of their Pastel de Nata‘s to takeaway, and they are just fabulous. This is a must visit cafe if you are in the area.

We saw a post from Teles Pattiserie in a local FB group last week and it sounded like a fantastic place. The food and cakes sounded delicious from the website and there were tonnes of great reviews online so we were excited about going for lunch today. When we arrived it was only after midday and there was only one other table of 2 – we asked if we could see a menu (as there wasn’t anything outside) to which the lady behind the counter frostily replied there wasn’t any. There were a few cakes out and she said that’s all there was available. We asked if they were serving any other food as there was no mention of menu restrictions on the website or their posting on FB – she reluctantly told us 2 select menu items were available and went through them like you would with specials on a menu. None of them sounded particularly exciting or like their normal menu but we chose a couple of chicken baguette type things. She didn’t seem too impressed that we wanted to order something that wasn’t cakes and we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing her just being there. The seat we were given was in an area that was infested by wasps (to be expected at this time of year) – this wouldn’t have been so bad if we weren’t waiting over 30 minutes. She came out to tell us the food was delayed because the chef was busy making cakes when she took our order and it would be another 10 minutes – I asked if it was possible to sit inside where we might get some peace from the wasps but she flat out said no, those seats had to be pre booked and there were wasps inside anyway. There was no willingness on her part to try and accommodate us and she really didn’t seem to care about our discomfort. At this stage we were feeling uncomfortable and not welcome so we asked to take our food to go. We got 2 x chicken baguettes and 2 x drinks and it came to £20.50 – when we opened the box the baguettes were actually half a baguette and the bread wasn’t cooked properly. The quality of the chicken was ok but it had very little flavour and tasted of raw garlic and little else. For this price I’d expect much more from a baguette that you had to wait over 40 minutes. You might expect to pay such prices in a café/ restaurant in Central London where the overheads are much higher….but this is barely a step up from a shed on a farm. I’m usually reluctant to leave any bad reviews for small businesses, especially in the current economic climate. If the service had been even remotely friendly and we were made to feel our custom was valued, I would have probably let it go. However, the combination of weird and borderline rude service and mediocre overpriced food has just tipped me over the edge. If you want decent Portugese food and to be treated well as a customer, you would be better going to Jorge’s in Norwich.

We first heard about Teles Patisserie during lockdown and how they were doing local deliveries. We lived too far away but as soon as the lockdown rules eased we were eager to visit and try the patisserie for ourselves. Well, they certainly didn’t disappoint. Visited today for a second visit having been once last year. The food is EXCELLENT. The menu online is nice and varied but do note it’s quite flexible and they may not have everything on there, or they may have specials. Four of us ate lunch and had drinks and three pastries to take away and it was roughly £10 per head. Fantastic value considering the quality of the food. I had a “toastie”. You can choose from the various fillings they have and I had ham, cheese and chorizo. It was delicious - one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Good quality ingredients, nicely cooked, no messing around just very good food. My other half had the “Portuguese brunch” - a marinated chicken sandwich which was also excellent. Drinks are good and pastries/cakes are too. I have previously had the savoury pastries and they’re delicious. Unfortunately they had sold out of quite a few items which is a shame, but understandable as it’s a very small place. Food is really very good, atmosphere is a little quiet - it might be nice to have some background music or something as when the place is quiet it feels a little odd. Definitely well worth a visit.

We love to visit the patisserie as we live in the village. It's a real treat to have a lovely coffee and sweet treat during a nice family walk. Today I had brunch as did our toddler and my husband had coffee. They have written menus now which makes it easier to decide what to have...or work my way through over the next few months! The little one had his very first hot chocolate and devoured it. They do oat milk and have been really accommodating of his milk intolerance. We always have a warm welcome when we arrive and a good chat if things arent too busy. Its great to see the business thriving and expanding and this is a lovely and quiet place to relax. It's on a working farm and in the summer you can sit outside or in the barn area. There is the Ted Ellis reserve close by and the Wherrymans Way so it's an ideal place to stop at. Of course there will be tractors going past, cows in the fields, dogs running free and flies buzzing around...this is rural Norfolk and what one should expect. If you dont want to get your car wheels muddy then stay in the city! I am so glad Joaquim and Ana chose to set up their delightful patisserie in our village :)

The selection of sweet patisserie is amazing! All made on site and all beautiful! I had a rhubarb tart, tangy rhubarb with beautifully sweet crème pat. Perfect! This cafe is well worth a visit. The food is delicious, although the choices are limited - no bad thing- makes it easier to decide...There is a choice of places to sit - indoors, in the courtyard or in the barn and although the service can be a bit slow, the staff have always been friendly and pleased to see is. Reading the less complimentary posts on this aspect, all I can say is some folks are in too much of a hurry! It's fairly obvious that in this isolated but delightful part of Norfolk you're not going to get fast food!To the folks who complained that the place wasn't on the waterside, the location is quirky but as it's in the buildings in the middle of a working farm, there won't be much in the way of sweeping views, or a pleasant waterside location. Honestly. Do your homework - there are very few spots along the south side of the river Yare where you can get anywhere near the river itself and these are all waterside pubs. So, expect a delicious snack served slowly and friendly staff who respond well to a pleasant word... We go there quite often.

You can sit inside the cafe or outside in the courtyard or in the shade under a barn roof. We had coffee and strawberry cake (£11.50p for two) and got plagued with flies under the barn roof. The cake was almost like a trifle so nice but quite different from standard English cake. Shame that the single unisex loo had no toilet paper and the hand wash bottle was empty which has cost them one star. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was not hungry so just had an Americano which was delicious and good value (£2) and just what I needed to revive a weary walker! The cafe is also situated very close to the Ted Ellis/Wheatfen nature reserve which is worth a visit.

Beautifully presented cafe, sweets and savouries throughout the day. Everything tastes as good as it looks. Tasty real coffee and smooth rich hot chocolate. Seasonal menu and tasty, different breakfasts and lunches. Popular place during special events. Yesterday was a plant sale. Waiting time is longer then but so worth it. Love the special touches such as fresh flowers on every table, glass chillers for cakes, book library, takeaway and vintage crockery and display

Visited today with my husband and its in a lovely location. We Decided to give ourselves a Treat with one of their tempting cakes only to be horrified when entering that the cakes were NOT covered in any way and there was flies crawling in them. When this was mentioned to the female staff behind the counters they just ignored us and so it was mentioned again and still no response just a unwelcomed glance. We appreciate the location of this place that flies would be a pest but to be completely ignored by the staff members and having no food covers over the cakes allowing flies to crawl on the fresh cream is damn right disgusting as we all know what flies normally land on.

It is so hard to choose here as everything looks delicious. We started off with croissant (one plain, one almond) and coffee and then couldn't resist the Portuguese tarts which are heavenly.

Expectations based on the Facebook page were high. The reality was quite different. Service incredibly slow and offhand despite the fact there were only two other customers. The soup was pretty awful and my friends had a “brunch” dish which they considered overpriced by some measure. There was no menu, and only two savoury choices as the sandwich maker had broken. Very odd atmosphere and to be honest we couldn’t wait to leave, which we did, in order to have a cake at Green Pastures. I don’t think any of us will return, which is a shame as they are clearly hard working people, but the surly service left a lot to be desired. Good service would have overcome the culinary shortcomings!

Pretty little café in the middle of a farm that is clearly trying to diversify but it all feels a little bit odd. The owners clearly work very hard but I don't think they read TripAdvisor as the same issues that have been mentioned before are definitely still the case - no proper menu and only a few items have prices on so it's not clear what's available and what the cost is. The Mr Teles looks very professional and bustles about but comes across as a bit surly and his wife was friendly initially then lost interest and I think was a bit exasperated with us for not making her life easier by knowing exactly what we wanted to order but a few clues as in a helpful menu (!) would have made it easier for all of us! My sister asked if they did sandwiches to which the answer was yes then she had to ask what sort and, defeated, simply asked for cheese and butter as it was like getting blood out of the proverbial stone or like interviewing a suspect! Three times she said 'with butter' so when the anaemic looking solid roll appeared with no butter and a couple of slices of tasteless rubbery cheese she wasn't too impressed but said nothing in the usual British way. The hot chocolate was lovely but when my mother's arrived I said it must be hers as I asked for without cream as it looked so fluffy on top. When Mrs Teles returned with the second one it was unceremoniously dumped in front of me and snapped 'it's not cream it's froth' which I could see it was but at first glance the first one had looked how squirty cream looks when it starts to sink and I hadn't heard my mother order hers. No big deal but seemed a bit stressy to earn that reaction from Mrs Teles. I thought maybe she was just having a bad day but when some customers came in who she knew, she was very sociable. The patisserie I had tasted good like a coconutty brioche with cream and crème patisserie but was so solid I felt quite uncomfortable for several hours. All in all we didn't feel welcome despite us being a friendly bunch and really don't know what you have to do to 'fit in' as a customer. There was a friendly handsome farm dog outside who wanted to play and that earned a smile from Mr Teles when he popped out but no smiles for customers!

Came across this little hidden gem on a walk around Surlingham and rockland st Mary. We had some lovely pastries in here, they were a little pricey but very enjoyable. This hidden gem may be hard to find but it’s worth it, nice venue and interesting to have Portuguese/French patisserie available in Norfolk

Would be really glad to come across this place if I’d been out walking and needed a break and refreshments. However, in making a specific visit I was a little disappointed versus my expectation. Might just have been the time of day (just after Saturday lunch) but the range of cakes and pastries was not as extensive as the Facebook page suggested. That said, the tart I had was delicious. Coffee was ok but not brilliant.

Delicious breakfast on a Sunday morning. We ordered two Portuguese breakfasts which were amazing. They consisted of a drink of your choice, ham & cheese Portuguese bread roll, and a nata pastry. All the food is homemade and delicious. The ‘sandwich’ came with a choice of jam, the tomato one is incredible, like a sweet chutney. I adore Portuguese custard tarts (natas) and these are the best I’ve ever had, we took four to takeaway and a ham, cheese, chorizo, and red pesto croissant. So many sweet treats available, hoping more savoury items get added to the menu too. Perfect visible with impeccable service from Teles & Ana. Thank you, we will return! ❤️

Saw this place mentioned on Facebook and we love Portuguese custard tarts so decided to try for lunch. It is quite hard to find by car in spite of our sat nav and the cafe and farm shop would benefit from more signage. When we found it, we were a tad disappointed that there was no hot food on offer for lunch. We shared a chicken curry baguette and a cheese & ham croissant. Both were tasty but we feel they would have both been better served warm. The Portuguese custard tarts (pastel de nata) were delicious and certainly the best we have tasted outside of Portugal. Overall, a lovely new cafe and we wish the owners every success

Average coffee and sat nav sent us round the back so we ended up parking 'off road'. The pastries didn't temp any of us. A fly screen would be good, especially with the farm yard so close! Went to look at the shop, but again we were not tempted, with no lights on & no one there we didnt bother going in.

If you're going to the Ted Ellis Nature Reserve in Surlingham, Norfolk or are anywhere near then don't miss out on the delightful Teles Cafe & Patisserie. Situated in a farm on the road to the Reserve, Portugese Jaoquin Teles produces the most amazing range of continental patisserie including those wonderful Portugese custard tarts - Pasteis de Nata. I doubt you'll find a better selection in nearby Norwich unless they are supplied from here! You can sit inside on cooler days or outside amongst the old brick buildings of the farmyard and soak up the atmosphere of rural Norfolk. I was staying a few hundred yards away on holiday and a visit here became part of our daily routine, made all the more pleasant being served by Jaoquins ever smiling wife. Don't miss it.

When out for a walk in rural Norfolk, the last thing we expected to find was a Portuguese patisserie. We hesitated at first, thinking we had walked through a space time continuum onto the King's Road and that we would be under-dressed for the occasion. In fact it was an absolute delight. Rustic courtyard surroundings outside and cosy seating inside. A mind-boggling choice of both savoury and sweet pastries. We pigged out and had a selection of both and they were light and delicious. Tele and his wife are a lovely, welcoming couple, true artisans, eager to showcase the delights of their home country. We wish them the very best.

Spotted Teles on Facebook and the photos had me hooked. Planned a Sunday morning ride with a break here about 20 miles into the ride. Well what a little gem, it's only been open about a week. A warm welcome, the story behind some of the food on offer was really nice, even some aimed at cyclists, we both had cheese, ham and pesto croissants which hit the mark and a lovely coffee. We sat outside I the farm courtyard as it's was very hot but the setting inside is very welcoming and perfect for an afternoon tea

Dreadful ‘brunch’ experience Extremely poor customer service, one menu for 3 people, lack of interaction and information with a misleading menu. States they had a ploughman’s sausage roll which when we order we were told it wasn’t available. No signs as to what the cakes were, asked, the one we wanted although there were some on display were then ‘unavailable’ Ordered 2 diet cokes as husband is insulin controlled diabetic, 2 large glasses of coke arrived, I took a sip, and questioned what coke it was to be told she had indeed served us ‘normal’ coke….potentially very dangerous!! When the diet cokes then did arrive they were half the size of the original ones… There was also no ice. Cheese scone ordered, arrived dry and solid. There were only 3 other people in the cafe besides us 3, and we waited a ridiculous amount of time for food and drinks. When the toastee arrived rather than walk an extra few steps she lent over the banister, and 2 of our party to pass to me at the far end of the table when she could of just walked round and put it down in front of me. Overpriced and food disappointing compared to other local cafe’s. This was the first time we had visited and it will most definitely be the last. Give this terrible establishment a very wide berth!

A Roasting Good Time This little pub is a hidden gem. Their roast dinner is the stuff of legends. The meat is cooked to perfection, the veggies are spot on, and the Yorkshire pudding is fluffy and golden. The gravy? Divine. If you're a fan of a good roast, this is the place to be.

My first time back for 6 years when Carorline still used to serve the "Naughty breakfast" in their old premises across the road. Now replaced by 3 others which includes the "Large breakfast "which is a feast. Consistent quality over three visits in a fortnight & a lovely warm welcome every time. Worth a trip all the way from Africa.

One of the very best places to eat in Norfolk excellent food ,service and value. It's a really shame they don't serve alcohol. A glass of red wine would have gone down a treat with a beef pangang curry

First time in this cafe, food arrived quick and hot, waitress very friendly. Didn't like watching a dog sitting on a seat eating from a bowl at the table. Put me right off my food. Waitress did tell them no dogs but they still stayed.
