We booked for a Saturday evening well in advance as we were staying in the village and a group of 9 people. The pub looked lovely and we had a warm reception from the bar man. We were shown to our table, there were only 2 other people dining. We were given the menus and chose our food. When the barman came to take our orders the fun began. ‘Sorry we only have one of those’, ‘sorry we only have one of those’ again and again - so at least 5 of us had to re-choose our food and negotiate with each other!! Then I asked for the wine menu ‘we don’t have one’! He listed some wines and I asked if they were bottles or glasses. ‘Both’ he said! So we asked for 2 bottles of Malbec. ‘We only have 1’ ! Ok we’ll have that one and a Rioja… ‘well, we don’t have a full one as we’ve already opened it’! Aaasgh! The food was fabulous! The staff were fabulous! The availability of food and wine was poor! Especially for a large advanced booking. Such a shame. Needless to say we didn’t even attempt to order desserts or coffee on the assumption there wouldn’t be any. Having said that we would return- perhaps pre-ordering next time!

The price for food is ridiculous for a small village. Not to mentions the food was gross, the old pub owners food was so much better, they didn't make simple food complex. When you order mashed potato with your food you expect potatoes that are mashed only. Not mixed with bacon, onion and leek. Never ever going there again. Such a shame.

Wow, what a difference! Despite living less than 5 minutes walk away, we haven’t eaten together in the pub for years due to the vegetarian options being really poor. We eat out a lot and would drive straight past our local to go elsewhere. Having heard lots of positive reviews from friends in the village, we booked a table. Food was beautifully presented, big portions, and really was delicious (brownie was to die for!) The welcome was really friendly, and the young lad that looked after us couldn’t have been more attentive. A real asset to the Queens Head! Will definitely be eating here again.

Very good quality food and service at a fair price. I had the suet pudding stuffed full of melting shin of beef and served with wonderfully fresh vegetables, red cabbage, carrots ,kale and broccoli. My husband had delicious sausages, mustard mash and ,again, lovely fresh greens. Sadly we were too full to sample the deserts, all of which sounded tempting. It is a warm well furnished environment with a roaring fire which was equally matched by the warmth of the welcome from Leah who manages the establishment with exactly the right balance of friendliness and professionalism. We will return , next time much more hungry!

If you want a great village pub with a great village atmosphere then you dont need to look further than the Queens Head, was so friendly with great food and fab staff. The Sunday roast was well cooked and plenty of it. The roast potatoes were crispy as was the huge yorkshire pudding. The beef, chicken and pork belly were all equally tasty and not over cooked, the side of cauliflower cheese was heavenly. It was great to meet a chef who actively asked for feedback and was proud of his food! Great job Scot. Loved the popcorn cockles. A place not to be missed!

Had to wait for the end of COVID . Very noisy local lads alot in there . So even in restaurant it's loud . Plus drinks very expensive and I had half a pint of ice in my g&t which made it so watery even though I asked only for a couple if cubes . Don't really listen just do what they want . The lads behind bar are not trained put our drinks through wrong so check you receipts. Food was nice though and restaurant staff friendly . Very clicky atmosphere. So if you are new to village everyone stares at you , makes it really uncomfortable. Like you just don't fit in . Unless your a loud ladish sort of person maybe you will .

Very welcoming staff in the bar area and waitress was bubbly and chatty when shown to our table. Good choice of food starters of mushroom and spinach bruscata (sorry for spelling) x2 & duck with pancakes x2 all so delicious. . Mains of skate which was thick and succulent, chicken in basket very filling and a tagliatelle all very enjoyable. Although very full we made room for pudding very well presented and delicious. No pressure to leave so a very pleasant and enjoyable evening in lovely surroundings. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Had a really enjoyable evening here. We were celebrating an 8th birthday with two children and ten adults. We pre ordered each course as there were twelve of us. The food arrived pretty much together, just a slight delay with the children's meals and all the meals were declared as delicious, with mostly empty plates. I had the Queens burger which was one of the best I've had. The sticky toffee pudding was substantial and scrumptious. The staff were friendly and attentive checking that everything was ok but not trying to hurry us, just right. There was only Peroni Libra available as a non alcoholic beer, so I had a diet coke instead. Also a choice of custard with the desserts would have been nice, otherwise really good and would like to return.

We had to look hard to find a table, with many places booked up due to the "eat out to help out". We found the queen's head, and had no problems getting in. I guess it is off the beaten track. I had a burger. It was a good choice. Not crazy big, but easily big enough. It's a home made burger, and very tasty too. Lovely big chips, and loads of pickles, onion jam etc. My kids had the children's version. I asked if they could add bacon & cheese to match mine (they're hungry boys!), and they kindly did so. Theirs came with skinny fries. The food was every bit as good as the adult meals. No second best for kids here. The boys were really impressed, and ate the lot (well, apart from a few leaves). My wife went for a Thai green curry. Lovely chicken, well presented. That left room for a gorgeous New York cheesecake. The staff and locals were incredibly friendly, which seems to be quite normal around here. Highly recommended.

A quality gastro pub. We've been here several times recently and everything is always a high standard and excellent value for money. They offer different deals on different days of the week. Our favourite is a Friday when you get free dessert for each main meal. There is a varied menu and every meal we've ever had has been perfect. On Sundays they offer roast dinners (not carvery) with locally sourced meats. The portions are very generous and we've been unable to find another pub offering a Sunday roast of the same quality and value. The staff are always friendly and approachable and nothing is ever too much to make your visit a highly positive experience. We're so glad to live locally!

We popped in one Sunday a couple of weeks back before christmas for a drink whilst passing on our way back home to Reedham. Warm, friendly bar staff and nice atmosphere it seemed. The only thing that let it down were 3 what seemed like 'adults' in there that were so childish it dampened the atmosphere. Taking piss out of everyone that came in through the door or left, hysterical laughing and mimicking people. One of the guys pointing to young girl that came in making incredible rude and in appropriate gestures to his mate. Just seemed very childish and ruined the atmosphere for me.

My first time back for 6 years when Carorline still used to serve the "Naughty breakfast" in their old premises across the road. Now replaced by 3 others which includes the "Large breakfast "which is a feast. Consistent quality over three visits in a fortnight & a lovely warm welcome every time. Worth a trip all the way from Africa.
