Queen's Head in South Norfolk

Fantastic staff, food and beer. I found the Queen’s head after a short wander around the town. I was on my own and make to feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The food and beer were both fantastic. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.

Great food, lots of choice and very accommodating staff. Would happily visit again.

It was really nice. Drink was lovely. Food was delicious. The only thing is my chips were a bit chunky and not particularly cheap like that's the only thing that was wrong. Company was great with definitely go again

The bar area was full & lovey so the restaurant to the side created a slightly more fine dining experience. The staff were incredible, very attentive and friendly. 🐶 Dog Friendly ✅ We didn’t bring Mr Wilson this time BUT we did see plenty doggos throughout!

WOW...I eat out regularly and I can honestly say that this was one of the most amazing meals I have ever had. For my main I had the Pan Roasted Chicken Supreme, Wild Mushroom Ragu, Cauliflower Puree, Crispy Kale. This was absolutely exquisite and cooked to perfection. For dessert I had the Sticky Toffee Pudding, Caramel Sauce, Honeycomb, Vanilla Ice Cream. This was absolutely wonderful! The staff were attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend The Queens Head and will definitely be returning!

I have been a few times now and have only been for drinks! I would like to confirm the staff are all excellent and genuinely can't do enough for you, always asking if they can help if you are standing near the bar. Even if the place is busy get served is a breeze! Although food based, they leave a few tables for those just wanting a drink, which is highly likely as they have Unfiltered Stella on draft here and its amazing! The food looked wonderful and the only negative here, is I live in the toilet bowl of London and can't come here weekly. Well done to everyone there, for what is go to place when I am in Wymondham

Very nice pub. Attentive staff & good food.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant, we stumbled across today,27.10.23 while having a wander around Wymondham. We were welcomed by attentive ,extremly friendly staff. The food was nothing less than exceptional. My husband had the short rib and it just fell off the bone , the accompanying vegetables and potatoes were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious, I had the chicken supreme, which again was excellent , only disappointment was we couldnt fit a dessert in , we were so full .Can't wait to return to this lovely establishment again . Thankyou for a delicious lunch high praise to the chef andall the lovely staff.

Amazing Sunday lunch any the queens with lovely group of people. Has to be my top three ever Sunday lunches but if you asked me about the others I’m sure the order would change every time. Lovely atmosphere and superb staff couldn’t fault it at all.

No where to sit or stand if you just want a drink....all restaurant...drinkers are kind of in the way! Shame.. Nice to meet for a drink - you don't always want a meal

Had an amazing meal here last night with my partner. We're staying in nearby Hethersett and wanted to try a local pub meal. The pub is lovely inside and all the food was superb, so much so we felt we needed to try (share) a dessert as our other courses had been so tasty. Good choice of wines by the glass and an array of gins and other shorts. Lovely staff too.

We were absolutely delighted after having a meal at the Queens Head. The quality of service from highly attentive staff was impressive. Being indecisive about my ale choice, it was no problem to bring a taster to the table for me to confirm my choice. Our starters and mains were presented beautifully and the tastes showed us that the kitchen take a real pride in wowing their patrons. On a Saturday night, the vibe was busy but not rowdy, just perfect for a great atmosphere to dine and have a good gabber with the better half!! One of the most pleasant and enjoyable dinner experiences in a while and we therefore highly recommend the Queens Head to anybody passing through Wymondham!

Wonderful. This was for a family meal with children and was great. We all chose wood fire cooked pizzas which I think are some of the best in Norfolk, I chose a prosciutto and garlic mushroom pizza and was cooked perfectly and a very generous size with a side of truffle and parmesan chips. The bar is well stocked with Suffolk and Norfolk beers and spirits. All the staff were well informed, polite and very helpful. And to finish a stunning sticky toffee pudding. Will be returning very soon.

Always a good time coming to the Queens Head, never had any food but if the atmosphere and service is anything to go by, i bet it would be on point! Definitely one of the best in Wymondham Town!!!

Great food, not your normal pub fayre.

An excellent meal and enjoyable evening in this busy pub. The service was friendly and professional. The food was cooked to perfection and well presented. I particularly enjoyed the Queens Head ale which was a very reasonable £3.80 a pint 👍

We initially sat inside, but due to hot weather, we moved to the very well presented outdoor area. All staff helpful and good service.

Nice environment, limited range of traditional ales. Didn't try the food.

There were 7 of us, gathered in the area for a christneing. 4 adults and 3 children. One of the children has lots of allergy problems, and it was also mum's birthday. The whole team at the Queen's Head was brilliant. Email conversations with mum over what could be done with allergies in mind for the child. Behind the scenes I had conversations with the team about an allergy sutiable birthday cake for mum. When they weren't sure, they queried and checked. High marks for how they handled the whole allergy thing. On the evening, the child with the allergies was consulted about his pre-arranged meal: Would he like fat chips or thin ones? He chose fat ones and they were fat! For the rest of us, our meals were all excellent. Personally I had the butternut squash risotto. It was lovely and just right. Everyone else seemed to be thoroughly pleased with their choice - there were a lot of empty plates! After the main meal the birthday cake was brought out and it was the surprise I'd hoped for. I will definitely be going again. It was a first rate experience. Thank you to the whole team.

Met with family as we were all attending a wedding nearby the following day there were 9 of us ,we all had a lovely meal,good drinks ,friendly staff no complaints from any of us .food was tasty and hot and decent amount

Superb Sunday lunch can’t fault it at all, been to some of the best rated venues for Sunday lunch in Norfolk and this caps them all (check my other revues). From start to finish great service lovely venue with good atmosphere, the food was amazing can’t speak highly enough.

We had Sunday lunch in the separate room which was probably quieter than main seating area which was packed. Staff are friendly and attentive. Can recommend the cocktails, Purple Rain was so tasty, a long drink, I could have drunk another but thought best not on empty stomach. The chicken roast was delicious, soft meat, lovely crunchy roast pots, a large Yorkshire pudding, and could taste the cheese in broccoli cheese. The beef and nut roast was also given a thumbs up. The desserts, chocolate mousse, sticky toffee pudding and panacotta were special too. Prices on a par with other good local eateries and food delicious. My husband would have liked main to be a bit hotter but he has an asbestos mouth!

Had one of the best evenings in a very long while. Great food lovely restaurant staff polite and attentive with out intruding . Will return as wife new favourite.

Our first visit Saturday evening and was greeted by very friendly staff. They were very busy that night, but we were not left waiting at all. Meal quite reasonably priced and very tasty. Good selection and presented well. Definitely going back at some point.

We called in for a drink with our two little dogs and sat at the bar, which isn’t always allowed these days, so that was a treat in itself! After a couple of drinks, we tried our luck and asked if a table was free as the lovely smell of a Sunday Roast was making us feel hungry! The very friendly young man behind the bar said he would do his best, and not long after we were tucking into a superb roast pork. The Landlady brought our food to the table and made sure we had everything we needed. We didn’t have a pudding as the roast portion was very generous and we were full. The food, service and ambience was all very enjoyable. We will be back soon.

Found this lovely pub on Sunday after Googling ‘Sunday Lunch’ as we are new to the area, and what a find it was. Polite and efficient staff, service was quick. We both had the roast beef and it was gorgeous! Really good quality meat, cooked to perfection. A lovely selection of veg and a Yorkshire to give anyone a run for their money. Good beer, and nice wine. Will definitely be returning and would recommend.

We returned to the Queen’s head for a 2nd time exactly a year later as it was the same birthday dinner as last year. Victoria as ever was amazing, just like the food, we had the same table as last year which we requested, and the same attentive service from Victoria and her team. The most impressive part was Victoria who has only seen me once when we visited a year ago, and as soon I entered the bar area Victoria recognised me instantly, that is what’s called customer recognition, see you again next year.

Staff were very friendly. We had the vegan options. Spiced parsnip soup was delicious, the vegan garden pie was a bit of a miss. Not really a pie as it was just a pie lid and the flavour was lacking. Still we would come back to see what other options they have.

We were a party of 16 people, all said what a welcoming atmosphere. The service was very good, the food was very much enjoyed. It's not the first time I have been to this pub and won't be the last. There isn't parking at the pub but there are car parks within 4 minute walk (unfortunately need pay but not excessive).

Great service, quick and friendly. Gorgeous food including the biggest Yorkshire puddings I had ever seen.

It's always difficult going out for a meal with my dad, since he had dementia, ordering or even eating is not straight forward anymore. However, the staff here were very helpful and welcoming. They also explained that could fit me in but they needed the table back by two which is good and honest, but accommodating.

2nd visit & both time’s excellent. Staff really friendly & professional. Food superb. Hard these days to find both food & service at such a high standard. Well done, we will be back.

I’ve been a regular here for several years and have never left a review but the food and service yesterday was outstanding and I just had to write this. Cannot recommend the staff and food highly enough! Even in such a busy period at Christmas food was served hot and on time, with drinks being served straight away. Food is always delicious, the staff are always friendly and professional. Victoria and James work so hard as do all the staff and always have a smile on their face. Yesterday was super busy with large parties in for their Christmas do, but the team worked like a dream and nothing is too much for them. Congratulations and super well done to you all!

The atmosphere was good and staff were pleasant. However, drinks are on the expensive side. As always,very pleasant staff and attentive service.

My wife and I had another fantastic meal at the Queen’s Head. We love the place! We have always had exceptional food and really like the decor. I really hope this restaurant continues to thrive and feel fortunate to have such a great eatery in town.

The only negative l have re the Queens Head is that I feel it is extremely overpriced for the size of the portions. Don't get me wrong, the food is very tasty but most dishes start at £18.50. Food nice but still felt hungry afterwards...

Reached out on several occasions to try and book an occasion for a birthday. Called and emailed numerous times and no one responded to to me. I also came into to the pub to chase this up and only received a response 3 weeks later, resulting in a final email saying they couldn’t do it due to not be able to manage the booking in the kitchen (4 weeks after my original enquiry). It’s disappointing that they have these areas available and do not have the staff to be able to offer them to their customers, but I’m mainly disappointed in the lack of communication and enthusiasm for a group booking of 30 people.

Great food and great gluten-free options

We booked and visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday evening having looked at the menu and prices online. The staff were very friendly, helpful and genuinely happy from the beginning until the very end. We were given the option of a quieter table, which we opted for and although tucked away the service was still high. The food was frankly outstanding, from the lovely halloumi and white bait nibbles, a very tasty mushroom risotto to an epic sticky toffee pudding. We will definitely be revisiting next time we are in the area. Many thanks again to all the lovely staff.

We chose the Queens Head for our Ruby Wedding celebrations and were delighted with every aspect of the event. Victoria was extremely helpful in setting up the room for our group exactly as requested. The food was really good and the service faultless. Highly recommended!
