The best restaurants in East of England

Great place to go to for pre-performance dinner at the Abbeygate Cinema. Food was excellent and the service couldn't be faulted.

Looked up on Trip Advisor. Said open until 16.00. Arrived 15.20. Paid for parking. Cafe locked up and shut. A wasted 20 minute detour, and no lunch. Very annoying. Do not trust the stated opening times.

Absolutely great value for money. Those little cakes were simply delicious. The blackberry scone was so light and fluffy I could have eaten more. Sandwiches were varied and tasted wonderful. Mount pleasant never disappoints. Thank you as always to the staff who are always so smiley and polite. Looking forward to coming back.

Everything on the menu is delicious and delivered hot and fresh. Very accommodating with vegetarian options too. Love it!

Best food ever lovely staff 10/10 would come again

Haven't been here for a while and its now called Khao Yai. Booked a Friday night Valentines meal for two. Ordered a main each, noodles and pad thai with spring rolls. Finished off with a special double ice cream to share. Have to say its the best Thai I've had for a long time, couldn't fault any of the dishes or the service and the ambience is very good.

Lovely stone baked pizzas with all sorts of options.

A friend and I went recently to this pub and found the music and atmosphere quite welcoming. We tried one of the custom pizzas and my friend wolfed her half down despite not being hungry at the time! The prices are great and the drinks taste fantastic too. I highly recommend The White Hart as they serve food later than other pubs nearby.

I had the best ever eggs benedict at the Parlour. The generous amount of ham was so flavoursome, the hollandaise sauce perfect and eggs well poached. My boyfriend had the full English and said that was excellent also. Lovely barn and a great shop next door to get unpasteurised milk from the machine.

Great quality food at excellent prices. We were doing a walk in Carlton and made a last minute booking. So pleased we did. Received a warm welcome and excellent service too. We will be back for more.

Lucy's chips re superb a is the gravy I had - very friendly stll. They se the best potatoes and the chips are always so hot and fresh. Superb!

Had a fantastic afternoon tea, loads of choices and fantastic cakes and scones, service was great, definitely recommend 👌
