Lucy's chips re superb a is the gravy I had - very friendly stll. They se the best potatoes and the chips are always so hot and fresh. Superb!

Great food but was unfortunately overcharged. The lady on the till was getting herself in a pickle and it wasn't till later I thought how expensive it was. When we added it up we realised but by then it was to late.

We usually use the Grosvenor but thought we would give Lucy’s a try and do you know it pretty good and much better value.

Chippy realmente sabroso: las colas pueden ser largas, pero toma eso como un testimonio de lo bueno que es. Mi marido tiene el pescado y las patatas fritas que dice que son geniales, pero yo voy por las opciones vegetarianas y veganas. He tenido el "vish" y las papas fritas, que son peces simulados hechos de flor de plátano. La textura me sorprendió, ya que era bastante "sospechoso". También he comido bocados de tofu marinados fritos que también estaban deliciosos servidos con sus chips perfectamente cocinados.

Apareció un jueves para almorzar. Nos sorprendió la variedad de opciones. Absolutamente excelente para un vegetariano. El servicio llegó con una sonrisa, y los tres miembros del personal que trabajaban parecían amables y atentos. La comida era perfecta y realmente lo disfrutamos. I can not recommend this place enough! I always have medium chips and a generous helping of curry sauce for only £2! The staff are lovely.

On a visit to Norwich and of course the Market we came across this place. Wow, the fish was cooked fresh, batter crispy as we like it, portion great and the service was with a smile. Super fish and chips at a great price too.. Take away or there is a small but comfortable 'breakfast bar' arrangement to eat on site. If you fancy fish and chips this is the place!

Visité a Lucy habiendo oído que se fríen en aceite vegetal. Me sorprendió descubrir que ofrecen una amplia gama de opciones veganas que incluyen varios tipos de "pescado", "salchicha" y una hamburguesa vegana. Comí el filete de 'pescado' rebozado y fue increíble. Mi compañero también dijo que sabía muy real. ¡Las fichas eran geniales, y me sorprendió poder tenerlas con Vegenaise! No puedo esperar para volver.

We won't get chips anywhere else for our daughter when we're in Norwich. Good location, great chips, no grease and very clean.

It tasted like the real thing! Perfect just felt the portion of chips was a little small but the food was delicious. They also served Vish (vegan fish made with banana blossom but was sold out)

Based in the iconic market in Norwich city centre this chippie is very popular,you only have to look at the queues outside it,the chips here are absolutely gorgeous,the staff are very friendly,ps try the curry sauce its stunning.

Having just enjoyed, Norwich's Spectacular Firework Display the Big Boom. I was feeling suddenly hungry, so I joined the line for Lucy's Chip Stall, the line didn't seem to take long to go down, which was helped by the jovial staff working away serving us all... I ordered medium portion of chips and a battered sausage as I couldn't resist adding the sausage to my order.. The memorial seating close by is where I enjoyed my chips and sausage...

I haven't had chips from the market in well over a decade, so decided to treat myself. I recalled reading about Lucy's picking up an award earlier in the year, so this was bound to be good. I joined the queue, which surely was another sign that these chips would be super tasty. As the customers in front salted and vinegar'd their orders I could see the visually appealing chips. Then came the scent, boy was my mouth watering at this point. At last! My turn! "One small chips, please". Then I garnished with the standard salt and vinegar, made my way to the war memorial seating area and dived in. Not too hot, not greasy, crisp on the outside, soft in the middle. PERFECTION!

A real expert when it comes to chips especially this time of year with New Potato chips - my fave! These were superb - hot, perfectly cooked and well worth a little wait.

Staff are very friendly, there is one particular girl who must be about 16 who works there every Saturday who is always extremely friendly and smiley. Cant believe how many gluten-free options there are, there is even gluten-free vinegar and the chips are vegetarian too which is so unusual for a local fish and chip shop. Super good portions, incredibly cheap, i cant find a fault. Thanks so much!

We went in Feb for a quick snack after a friend recommended to us. I was astonished by the exciting veggie options including battered halloumi, battered quorn sausages and mozzarella sticks. The chips were crisp and fresh, you could see the potatoes being peeled while you waited unlike some fish and chip shops that use frozen chips. I was also really pleased to find out that the veg options are cooked separately from the fish and not in animal fat unlike the Grosvenor chip shop. I will be back for more halloumi soon!

They have just received the Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. An award normally only given to shops not market stalls.

Best chip stall on the market - was going to an event in Norwich and knew I would not be eating with friends until much later so treated myself to some piping hot chips. They are always so good here - they have a separate stall if you do not eat meat so they use different oil. Cannot beat it - but it is so moreish - could have gone back for seconds!

I'm Vegan, so it's cool that Lucy's have a second stand for chips not fried in animal fat. If I'm in the city and fancy chips, this is where I go. It's made me hungry writing this review.

The original Lucy's corner stall is small, consistent and tasty. Right now, there's a huge influx of new fast street-food type stalls on the Norwich market. Nothing wrong with that, but sometimes a simple tray of value for money chips is all you need to hit the spot. Not too fancy, not too many choices, simple traditional chips and perhaps a sausage with some mayo or ketchup. Always the same service, always the same standard.. not too crispy, not too soggy, not too dry, not too greasy.. just piping hot chips ready to eat and usually not too big a queue .. sometimes old favourites are the best..

I did stop coming here after they first changed hands, but they seem to have got their act together again so we're back :) SO pleased to see them using recyclable materials instead of eating of horrible plastic. Well done for that Lucy's.

Fantastic fish and chips. Fish cooked separately in a nice crispy batter. As good as Rick steins gluten free offering in Cornwall.

Visited today and have been a regular here for a while. Consistently delivering good quality food for a reasonable price. Always good service and busy, which is a good sign. They have recently opened up a second unit in the market which for me personally isnt quite as good but still worth a visit for a good lunch.

Much better chips than anywhere near by! Always nice - esp with chinese curry sauce - or homemade beef chilli when available. Fantastic vfm. Better than a sandwich and keeps me going - all for £2 :-) Good size potions, nice chips cooked right.

Lucy's serves up a very acceptable portion of chips. Nicely cooked, not greasy and very hot. They also supply a decent fork to eat them with, instead of those silly little useless things. Very quick service too.

Came down for lunch with some work colleagues and had some amazing battered mince pies. Coming from the US, I'm not big on mince pie... honestly never having it before. But now, and only have the battered variety, I'm sold.

Lovely crispy fresh chips served here, good sized portion and a Large chips at £1.60 was great value.

On a day when Wigan Athletic come to Norwich to play the Canaries, it's very timely to report that the Norfolk onion gravy at Lucy's is the best I've had at any chip shop in Norwich and it would hold its own in Lancashire. Good chips as well.

When my granddaughter stays with me she always asks if we can 'have chips from Lucy's' and I never hesitate in saying yes as these are the best chips from Norwich Market, always freshly cooked. Keep up the good work!

Working in the city center I am now a regular at this chip stall. I genuinely cant name anything negative.

We have visited this Chip Stall MANY times over the years, but it was only yesterday that we realised it was on the TripAdvisor website. I promised I would add a review, so - as promised:

I was on an outing with a few close friends to take in the unique sights and smells of Norwich for the afternoon. The week prior to this I had eaten in Grosvenor's chip shop, a quaint little place situated on "the lanes". I must say however that the chips at Lucy's completely outdo the competition. Simply the best place for chips in the city with lovely staff and quick service.

The chips were reasonably priced and very tasty, the queue was not long. Once we got them my family and I sat in the seating area at the top of the market.

Based in the Norwich Market amongst many food stalls you shall find Lucy's offering a nice selection, all reasonably priced.

Only been there twice but the Chips are just Fab. There may be a little wait but well worth waiting. Lovely Hot Food

Imagine my surprise last night walking through the market to discover that Lucys chip stall is now open to 5 perfect for those chips on the way home for a treat or to take some home for tea perfect as always

This place is fabulous - we love it! best cheesy chips or chips with curry sauce ever.... and big mugs of tea and VERY cheap. its a great place to go when its pouring with rain and you are cold and hungry :)

Norwich Market abounds with cheap eats and drinks. In amongst its too-narrow aisles you van find cheap teas and coffees, fry-ups galore and Lucy's great chip stall. The menu is very limited - chips, sausages, bread rolls and assorted pickles about sums it up. The chips are great! A busy lunchtime sees queues form and hectic activity in the tiny stall as spuds are peeled and chipped and fried fresh every few minutes. Portions come small, medium and large - a medium will feed two as a shared dish and a small portion is about as much as one person can handle, I reckon. Low prices, expertly fried chips and a sunny terrace nearby. You'll be back!

While in the city fancied some chips from my fav place Lucys on the market. I had the whitebait and chips all freshly cooked to order a lovely big portion and ONLY £3 !!!!! Will definatly have it again, and all served with a smile :)

The only place you can get chips like they should be in the whole of Norwich. Always disappointed with local chip shops these days as chips are not the same as they used to be years ago, except of course if you visit Lucy's on the Norwich Market. Sampled the new whitebait and chips on Saturday and can honestly say it was the best whitebait I have tasted and this is comparing it to many different restaurants/pubs etc over the years. Will see you again soon to try the popcorn cockles!

Whenever we visit Norwich the children always ask if we can go to Lucy's chips. The chips are lovely, a good size and the staff are always really friendly. We love to have ours with curry sauce. Would definitely recommend a trip to Lucy's or Lucy's 2.

Loved the curry sauce and the portions are decent. They're not as thick cut as I expected but were gorgeous anyway. They've got 2 stalls in the market.

Undoubtably the best chip shop in Norwich. We travel in from rural norfolk just to experience the fresh crisp chips. Always friendly and accommodating too!

We were tempted during a visit to the market, service was quick and friendly, lovely fish and chips and great value for money. Highly recommend.

Picked up my children from school on Thursday to do late night shopping, fancied sausage & chips , went to Lucy's on the Norwich Market had a great meal, highly recommended.

Haven't been on the market for a while.walking through I smelt chips so I stopped at Lucys for some. Beautiful chips well cooked and an overflowing tray all for £1.40 will defiantly be back for more.

I haven't been on the norwich market in quite a while, and I thought it would be a lovely treat for the boy's to take them for some fish and chip's on cold winters day. So we had a little browse and came upon lucy's chip stall. The staff were very welcoming and I had a very engaging chat whilst we were waiting for the chip's. Soon enough we were served(the service was very fast) and I was really quite astounded at the sheer quality and taste of the meal.

Best chips I've tasted!! Highly recommended. Fantastic friendly staff! You won't ever taste better!! Large portions!!

I have been going here for years, since I was first taken as a small child by my grand parents the chips are fabulous, I honestly don't think you can get better in Norwich. Lucy's keep doing what your doing!
