Lovely fish and chip shop my mum love them from there and very friendly

Best tasting fish we've had for a long while, could improve by letting the fish stand to allow excess oil to seep out, but otherwise, bloody lovely!!! Now my regular go to for a fish supper.

Tried for the first time Monday lunch time because my normal chippy wasn't open . It didn't dissapoint the fish and chips were bloody lovely I ate it all ! Portions were massive too . We really enjoyed would recommend 👌

What's happened to this place? ☹ I know there's new Management (since the last time I was in the area to come here, which has been a while), but the chips were overcooked and hard. If the ends of the chips weren't black, they were green. The small battered sausage was undercooked (raw batter). I would highly recommend The Little Fish Bar on Bowthrope Road instead. First written negative review given of anywhere I've been, but it really was terrible. I hope the person after me got given fresh chips. Miss the old award winning chips. ☹

I have used these for years and the portions have always been good but for the last 8 weeks the sizes have dramatically got smaller yet the prices have gone up! How does that work

Really disappointed with the poor quality of food. The chips didn’t have any salt and vinegar (for some reason we weren’t offered any) I assumed they would come with salt and vinegar, but seemingly not Also the chips were very bland to taste, not what you’d expect from a fish and chips. My chicken burger didn’t have any salad, nor was it offered any. If you’re looking for a decent fish and chips go elsewhere, you’ll be disappointed.

The fish when cooked had far too much oil in it soaking the paper it was wrapped in, fried fish always used to be much dryer as the fryers stood the fish on its side after pricking it to drain, I think this is a practice that should be brought back into use, apart from the oil issue the fish quality was good

Lovely piece of middle cod, chips not so good. To many little sharp chips and we're cold

They don’t do delivery which is amazing for a local place, basically no wait unless there’s a queue (because they’re in high demand) and they get through queues quickly longest wait here maximum 8 minutes amazing professional service I travel past 3 other chip shops to get here 11/10 going over a decade

I walk here most Friday lunchtime's & order for Dad & Me. We used to order 2 Cod & Chips but portions are so huge we now just share 1 Large Tail End Cod & 1 Medium Chips. The 2 ladies working here are really friendly & polite & they cook & serve piping hot, not greasy delicious tasting food. I sometime order an extra battered sausage or fishcake which I would also highly recommend. Just be aware no Card payments but Free cash machine right outside next door.

Omg, had fish chips and peas The fish was more batter than fish, the fish looks big but only tiniest bit of fish inside the batter and full of grease The chips was ok but the mushy peas tasted like they was straight out of a tin not traditional chip shop mushy peas Will not be going back again

This is the BEST fish and chip shop in Norwich. The women staff are friendly and polite and work very hard. Superclean and airy. Been going for 20 years plus with Mark there before. A really good neighbourhood chippy.

Ordered cod and chips, which came to £7.50. Got home to find no cod, but a battered sausage instead, so not at all happy. There was only one other customer and it wasn't a complicated order, so no excuse. I Have given 2 stars because the chips are good.

On the way back from my cycle ride on the Marriott's way, I was hungry enough to try the fish and chips from the Larkman fish bar. I asked for a small cod and chips, what I received was a beautiful large fish, crispy chips, and the drool from vinegar and salt. This place is a jem! I'm going back to try some of the other things they serve. I think it could do with outdoor seating and I really think they should have a card machine, at this time its cash only! With the constant stream of customers that i saw as I munched away outside I'm not sure the quality is a secret to the locals! Great place will go again.

We have our fish and chips from here every week, cannot fault them, beautiful fish, golden crispy batter, lots of chips! Even have crispy bits! Try them

Very disappointing the chips are disgusting very greasy and like mash potatoes my wife had a spring roll well I say spring roll will nothing in it chicken burger had no filling just the roll they do not update there website with prices overall DO NOT GO WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY

Fish n chips for tea friday 3rd june absolutely awful. No juice in the fish and batter chewey. Unfortunately, we recommended them to a friend and disappointed to the point of chucking them out. Could have been reheats but dishgusting.

The worst fish and chips I have ever eaten in my life I phoned my order over so that I could ask for very little batter on my Rock eel ordered two large rock Eel and chips to my horror when we got home there was more batter than fish there was no fish inside looked like it had been cooked the day before and hotted up when I phoned she started saying about you should’ve asked for less batter which I did when I phoned up to place the order would not go back there again The manager said come back and she would give us some more fish I said no thanks What a waste of £16

Fantastic portion of fish and chips at a great price, only down part is they don't take card.

Disgusting ordered a plaice fillet the batter was that thick when I finally got through the batter the fish ( what there was ) was full of bone when I phoned up and complained she said that’s how it comes, now I am no fishmonger but even I know a plaice fillet don’t have bones in ( that’s why it’s called a fillet ) if I wanted a plaice with bones I would have ordered plaice on the bone.

Very good fish and chips I find it really impossible to drive past if its open, very polite staff .Best in the area in my opinion.

Gotta be one of the best chippys in the city,good priced,alway hot and very good portions. This chippy should have an award, I always travel up here for fish & chips, where there's a award winning chip shop on my road,Angel Rd. This chippy is miles better than the one on my doorstep,give it a try you won't be disappointed, Larkman Fish Bar top marks.

Food was well prepared, cooked and very hot 🔥. Generous portions too. Excellent service and food. Will definitely be returning.

I started the day off so well, a satsuma, banana then a Gym Kitchen Thai Green curry macro counting thingy... then my friend calls on my way home, we decide on fish and chips, I get home and my wife has made beautiful pork enchilada pot things... so I eat them not to be rude and decide I’ll leave some chips abs eat most of my fish when I see my friend, well the chips came and were delicious, so I only left a couple abs the fish was very good and I scoffed the lot! My second on third visit to hear and I’ve found it to be very good!

Fully COVID compliant. See the pictures. I had read the previous review and was concerned about this but I only witnessed all staff wearing masks at all times and there was protective barriers across the front area. There were a couple of customers and everyone kept a safe distance. Fish and chips were generous for the price and the batter was nice. A little bit oily for my tastes but enjoyable.

ZERO COVID-19 COMPLIANCE I visited yesterday and was appalled to note that complete disregard was given to COVID-19 safety guidance. Members of staff were removing face masks when not serving customers (despite being in the cooking area), and limits on customers were not being enforced (staff were inviting customers in despite the capacity limit having been reached). As good as the food was (and it was fantastic) I cannot give this establishment anything more than a one-star review as a result.

What's happened to the potato fritters! Used to be lovely but last 2 times have been greasy and horrible unfortunately but other items are good!

Ordered the cod and chips. Huge portion for a medium size and one portion of chips . Very large fish with clean golden batter. Too many chips for one person. A very reasonable price for what we got and would highly recommend. Friendly staff, the guy who served us had worked their for many years and is very friendly. Best fish and chip shop.

I very rarely eat fish and chips takeaway but busy day yesterday. I had cod and chips regular size and small chips for £6.00. The cod was huge and I could have fed another person with the huge portion of chips. They were also very delicious. Social distancing very well thought out so no chance of the dreaded coronavirus. No way would I drive to this chippie on Larkman Lane, because of Aldi its a nightmare to park.

Large cod, large chips, large sausage, mushy peas to feed two three year olds and two adults for around a tenner. Great value. Only disappointment is they’ve gone to a lot of trouble to screen off from public but don’t accept card so with the current risk of virus transmission, contactless is a must surely??

Cracking little fish and chip shop. Please don’t be fooled by the area it’s a dank place warranted but salt of the earth live here and the have a fish and chip shop that could easily be placed on Cromer or sheringham sea front. Staff and friendly and willing to help and the food is inexpensive

Visited here on 27/12/19 at 12.30pm. Usually it’s busy but was empty. We ordered our chips and what a disappointment. They looked terrible and tasted vile!!! They were brown, chewy and suspect they were reheats from the night before. Terrible waste of money and won’t recommend or return again. If we didn’t live 20 minutes away I would have returned for a refund.

Went for the first time in years tonight. Friendly guy serving, chips were hot, tasty and there was plenty of them. Curry sauce was good too. We will definitely be going back.

If you're going to say you're open till 2230 then you should serve food until 2230, I arrived at 2210 and they didn't have any chips left nore were they willing to put anymore on... A chip shop without any chips is as useful as a pub without any beer.

We love this takeaway! Massive portions of cod especially, usually hangs over the edge of a large dinner plate and the quality of both fish and chips is amazing. Always get great customer service and can’t beat the low prices.

Does a cracking bit of cod. It's fairly pricey but definitely worth it for a Friday night Family treat.

This has always been madly busy on a Friday. It’s quite nostalgic, reminds me of years ago. Average prices for fish and chips. I hope they keep going. It’s nice to see a traditional chip shop.

This is a proper Fish and Chip like what you hardly get any more. Fresh cooked cod and thick cut chips that are just the right cross between crispy and pliable. There is off-road parking and the service from the delightful staff is excellent.

I do enjoy the fish and chips and gravy from this place. I don't enjoy the pies as they are always burnt or hard.
