Omsins in Broxbourne

We went on a Saturday night for a group night out celebrating multiple birthdays. We have been many times and always had a nice time. This time however, I respect that it was very busy but the service started very slow and just got worse and worse. Our waitress was lovely and clearly rushed off her feet, always apologising for the wait time which was appreciated but still. We ordered hot mix starters and half the platter was cold and One of the deep fried pastries had no filling unless you count oil, it was inedible. When my friend ordered a spicy curry for main the waitress, albeit light heartedly, questioned whether or not she really wanted it because it is spicy. Twice my friend had to tell her that she was happy with her order! When the mains came they gave my husband the wrong order. He had started to put it on his plate and they whisked it away. My friend ordered a tofu and vegetable curry, that had no vegetables in it. She politely asked for just some stir fry veg and they brought her a whole pot of curried veg with a huge lump of very overcooked potato in it which she found inedible. The rest of the dishes were fine although I did find a piece of bone in my chicken which I had to spit out! BUT not wanting to cause a scene when they asked how everything was we stupidly said it was fine. The waitresses began to clear our plates when some of our party were still eating and took our water glasses when we weren't finished with them. We noticed the chef coming out of the toilet with his apron still on, another came back from a break stinking of smoke and then manager had a big winter coat on indoors, which looked extremely unprofessional! The final straw was when the bill came which was over £200 plus a £21 service charge which at this point we were not willing to pay. So we agreed to split the bill and pay £35 a head. This really confused the waitress and we explained that we were simply not going to pay the service charge. She informed the manager who then came to our table and questioned us, asking if anything was wrong. We were MORTIFIED and very uncomfortable. We explained that we were happy to pay the bill just not the service. She asked if there was a problem and mentioned she has seen us there before. At this point her tone was really confrontational and I just wanted the conversation to be over so I explained again that the service was quite a lot, we weren't expecting it and didn't want to pay it. It really ruined our evening and made everyone feel extremely uncomfortable. Sadly after this we will not be returning.

Terrible selling very cheap wine for £18 a bottle all chicken dishes where stringey would never go again

Changed names and management I feel which was really poor. We attended on Saturday evening and despite having a booking for 7:30pm it took over 1 hour for the starters to arrive which the satay chicken was small portions, dry and cold, but not wanting to make a fuss we continued. The main food was then another hour later and we were given another tables food even thiugh they came in after us. We then received an apology and told the remainder of the food was coming out. It was carnage with microwaved hot dishes and Luke warm food, when I declined extra pad Thai as compensation we were screamed at by one of the staff, the Manageress has no control of her staff and offered no compensation for the issues and delays we had just agreed to remove the service charge which is not obligatory anyway. The restaurant was too busy for a Saturday ugly and not able to cope with both floors being busy, the staff are very young and inexperienced, or unable to understand English. Despite visiting many times, we will not be back and would not recommend.

My husband and I both had the two course lunch. Very authentic. Excellent tom yam, pad thai and green thai curry. Very good value and super friendly service. Thank you- we'll be back!

We came here as a party of four for dinner. The service was really good, attentive and friendly. Food was excellent for all of us and arrived in good time. Prices are reasonable and all were impressed with the food and service.

Grabbed an unplanned takeaway from here late on Thursday. It's always interesting to see how good your food is when the kitchen is about to close. You can also judge a Thai restaurant on its Pad Thai. I have to say, my Pad Thai was excellent. The main thing being it was not laden with sugar which a lot of Pad Thais are. Although not strictly a Thai dish, we also had Nasi Goreng which was excellent too. Good flavour balance, not to overbearing on heat and very, very tasty. The staff were super friendly and the decor was nice. I think we've just found our go to Thai restaurant!

I don’t know if it’s changed hands but new name and didn’t recognise staff. My weeping tiger was totally inedible. So tough. They did replace the dish which was a bit better but not brilliant. Having had to wait the side dishes had got cold. My husband didn’t think his meal was as good either. The new name is not a memorable one. New chairs but do difficult to move as they are heavy with nothing to grip. I don’t think we will go here again.

All 4 of us declared the meal was excellent and nicely presented. Service very friendly. The venue is comfortable and nicely decorated.

Me and my Colleagues went there for our Halloween week celebration . We decided to have Thai food and found this hidden gem in hoddesdon town centre . The service was just great and attentive . Staff were friendly and smily. The atmosphere was great and the food was simply amazing . I ordered the Pad Thai noodles , Lamb massaman curry , coconut rice and satay chicken on skewers . It was absolutely delicious and the level of spiciness was just about right for my taste buds . I will definitely visit again . Well done !!! 10/10 for overall experience . If you are driving , park in Morrison’s car park (3 hours free) and then it’s a 5 min walk from there . Very easy to find via Google maps .

I come here most weeks. Both the quality of food and wine list are excellent value for money The restaurant is Covid - secure and all staff are wearing masks in order to protect their guests ! Try OMSINS - you will be glad you did Best Thai in a 40 mile radius

We recently drove past the restaurant and saw they did take out. Today was the day we ordered. It was great for and delivered quickly. They did warn us that if we ordered later it would take significantly longer, but we were about ready for food so put our order in straight away. The person taking the order was polite and checked that we were happy with the order (some items were gluten free). The delivery driver was polite and very prompt. The food was very tasty and good portion sizes. We will hopefully order again.

We were a party of eight last Saturday and found both the food, and most importantly the staff top notch!

I took my mum for lunch as we do love a good thai and I honestly was not expecting that standard of food. I ordered 5 dishes and I could not tell you which one was best but the salt and chili squid did leave me wanting to order another portion. The food was delicious, right portions and not overpriced. Will definitely be back for more. I did notice the owner was constantly cleaning and you could see the love she has for the place.

We went here to celebrate our anniversary. The meal was good, staff friendly but I do think the wine is a little over priced. Sadly with Covid the restaurant was empty which meant no ambience. Noticed lots of deliveries and takeaways.

Overpriced miserably small portions.Food lacks freshness fragrance and the usually Thai aromas.Waiting young polite but inexperienced,lacking direction.Worst Tom yum I ever had very blend.Weeping tiger sizzling small siriloin and thin loads of gristle!!!Whilst the starters were tasty but also small portions.Very disappointed £50!!!We won’t be coming back

We always order from here as the food is fabulous! We have always been happy with the quality and service, and have been regular customers since it has opened. Unfortunately, today when I ordered the soft shell crab, I got home to find an extremely small portion (cost £9.50!). I called to let them know as we have had this dish before. The lady on the phone was very apologetic and friendly, however the chef in the background was VERY rude to her and about us, of which we could hear everything. This was a shame as it was our first negative experience. The chef ended by saying we would have to pay for another portion if we wanted more. I have attached a photo to show what we received.

We have just been for dinner at Omsins, we had a table booked for 6.15pm. Massive shout out to the staff, attention to detail to keep everyone safe with covid safe guarding was the best I've seen. We felt so comfortable and looked after and felt safe as we could hope for, and the food was delicious. A really enjoyable evening. Thank you x

I am utterly disappointed in this restaurant. We have been ordering from here for a while with no issue yet today we were made to wait an hour, food arrived cold and they mixed up the order!! We ordered duck with honey and roasted plum sauce yet when it arrived it was overcooked, grey and dry, with no sight of plum sauce anywhere. It was soggy and cold with sludgy vegetables surrounding it. Even the rice wasn’t manageable, ordered coconut rice yet it was basmati with a hint of coconut? Barely anything ?? We called to resolve this issue, however we were rudely turned away and argued against as the excuses were “the menu has changed”. The menu may have changed but I ordered duck with roasted plum, I requested it over the phone that’s what I wanted and they confirmed it, yet I received nothing like what I ordered. It was cold, soggy, looking grey. When I called to complain, the manager put the phone down on me, they refused to refund or exchange anything at first, saying is it just me not liking the colour of the duck ? And the menu has changed so that’s how they serve Honey Roast Duck. There’s no honey or plumb source basically.I asked to speak to the manager and the person who took over and spoke with me was very rude. She tried to argue with me over the colour of the duck I was expecting .... apparently paying £10.45 for a soggy, over cooked grey duck is ok, according to her. Omsins was a truly great restaurant once. But their food got worse, it’s not matching their extortionate prices and they definitely can afford arrogant staff who fight customers to death , to avoid admitting bad food and mismanagement. I will definitely not be ordering from here again.

The food and service was excellent. Large menu. Only criticism is that a group walked in with no masks despite being enforced now and were unchallenged.

We visited there for my wife's birthday. The food was good and the restaurant is very nicely presented. We would recommend for Veggies!

Ate at Omsins with a friend during eat out to help out and had a lovely meal- particularly enjoyed the duck spring rolls! The service was good considering how busy it was and the decor inside is nice.

Took advantage of the discount "eat out" government incentive and so glad we did! Even with social distance guidelines in place, it still felt warm and inviting. We ordered 5 dishes to share and every one was outstanding. Particular highlight was the Tamarind Duck was spectacular! The massamam curry was out of this world. 5 dishes and 2 drinks, including tip for less than £40! Amazing. The meal would normally have cost £57, which I would be more than happy paying.Will definitely be back, with friends as well!

Looking forward to eating at this restaurant as reviews were good and it was our anniversary. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations. Green curry brought to my wife but she had ordered red. Both main courses were over salted. One very loud and scruffy group allowed a table which ruined atmosphere. Staff were friendly but would not return

Ordered our first take away yesterday and was amazing food, we had 3 mains and all were piping hot, it was delivered within 20 minutes, however it was a mon night. Definitely would order again.

It's fair to say Omsins is an exceptional culinary establishment. Having moved to Hoddesdon not too long ago, trying the vast and varied take aways has been daunting; with some moderately good experiences but also more often than not underwhelming ones too. However Omsins really bucks that trend. The Thai Green curry we had was divine: creamy with a light sprinkling of heat and the Pad Thai was scrumptious with a welcome addition of crunch to provide texture. Finally the service was second to none. The delivery lady (I think called Susy) was really friendly and took time to welcome us to our new surroundings. Can't wait to order again.

Lovely takeaway. Delivery in less than 45 mins, I always eat the food too fast and then remember I should have taken a picture ! The thing about this place is that their customer service is top notch!!! Our fave thai restaurant

Had a take away twice in June from Omsins, both times have been first class. Speedy delivery, hot delicious food. Best Thai I have had in the UK.

Ordered again this time a Friday not a Sunday and line was engaged so new she was busy. Got through and a lovely polote girl said about 45-50 mins. Hour and a bit later one of the girls ring me, and very nicely explains there was a mix up and apologises and asks if I'd like anything else, very kind of her. I ordered some extra broccoli in oyster sauce. Within 15 mins food arrived. Super lovely lady arrived apologetic and sincere. I enjoy seeing her- really lovely personality. Even gave us free fizzy drinks. Gorgeous food as always. Will order again !

We ordered a takeaway and it was delivered in under 25 minutes!! It was hot and really tasty!!!I called and spoke to a lovely lady. She delivered the food socially distant and she was very sweet. The food was soooo good!Pad thai tofu, tofu masaman, veg spring rolls coconut rice and brocolli in oyser sauce. Very authentic like my step mum makes. Big portions too.. we are very full!Will be ordering again. Once lockdown is lifted we will come to the restaurant!

During the current lockdown we have had Omsins take away twice now (never eaten at the restaurant) but definitely will once this is all over as the food on both occassions has been superb. Thank guys 5*

Six of us went on a Saturday night, 14th March just as Coronavirus warnings were escalating. It was full of people enjoying themselves. We were there to celebrate a friend's special birthday and every single dish ordered was delicious. We all had starters and main courses and thought we we too full to order dessert. Nevertheless the lovely staff brought the birthday boy a large fried banana and ice cream dessert to share which helped to make the evening more special. The wine was good and not too expensive. All in all we cannot wait to return.

We've only lived in the area for 6 months (Moved from London - Hertfordshire) and have probably been to Omins about 10 times! .. Honestly can't fault it. Nice chilled atmosphere, lovely attentive staff and we've never had a bad meal in there. I love that all the allergens are listed clearly under each item so I can easily see what's suitable for vegan. And there's loads of vegan options. We love a quiet Friday night with a couple drinks at the local pub and then a meal at Omsins. I don't really rate any other restaurants in the area, so am really glad to have this option. I honestly think it's just as good as any Thai food I've ever had in London.. (Sadly I've never been to Thailand!!)..

Been here many times. The food is great I can’t fault it. There’s such a wide choice, especially for vegetarians. The staff are so really lovely. Highly recommend

The food was very nice. The restaurant seemed as if it had been decorated recently. Service was very good. Reasonably priced.

Omsins is the only real thai restaurant in Hoddesdon/Broxbourne/Cheshunt area, others are just fake chinese pretending to be thai

We contacted the restaurant at 19:40 on a Saturday evening looking for a table for 4 people and at such last minutethey managed to fit us in for 20:00. The lady on the phone was extremely polite and professional.

My wife and I went last night for dinner as we had been promising ourselves to try this relatively new restaurant for a while. The restaurant is clean and airy and we were sat at a comfortable table for two. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient without being pushy. The food though was beautiful, the Prawns were delicious, very sweet and tender and full of flavour and the sizzling beef was wonderful, cooked just right and a quality piece of meat you could tell. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Recommended.

Enjoyed a meal here with friends after a show at the Spotlight. HorsD’oevres were delicious and portion was more than generous. Main course was lovely too. Definitely worth a visit.

Wow! I do not think that I will find Thai food similar to the taste of Thai food in England, because most of the foreign food taste will be modified quite differently from abroad. There are many food to choose from. Excellent location Super staff

We wanted to try Omsins before going to see The Real Thing so called in without booking. We were lucky and got a table for four but it soon became busy. It was easy to see why the place is busy . . . the food was excellent. I had Chicken Satay for starter and that was as good as I get in Thailand. For my main course I mentioned that my favourite dish was not on the menu - "no problem, our chef can make this for you!"

Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and really lovely staff. We were so impressed. The restaurant was busy and we soon discovered why! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything we had was well presented and we could not fault a thing. We love Thai food and this restaurant is well worth a visit. Our first visit was a massive success and we shall definitely be eating there again!

We had a takeaway last night and this was the best Thai food I’ve eaten in a long time. Every dish was excellent, particularly chilli prawns and Massaman curry.

Me and my wife booked here on a whim after discovering it online and I must say I was very impressed.

My partner and I had an excellent first experience in this restaurant for her birthday. We were taken care of by a couple of very cheeky and funny waitresses who made us laugh and feel comfortable.

10/10 food every time, service is a bit slow and can sometimes feel like we go unnoticed however good prices and taste is on point!

Booked for father's day meal with family. 5 adults 2 children and a baby. They were very friendly and welcoming from the start. Excellent service and the food was very flavoursome. Will definitely be coming back again. Family came from London and were impressed.

We visited on a Wednesday evening. The service was very good with friendly staff. We really enjoyed our meals and they were good value for money. The portions sizes were good and everything was cooked really well. We would definitely recommend and will be returning to try other dishes soon - hopefully!

Came here on Saturday night,it was my first time at a Thai restaurant and I wasn’t disappointed. Staff very polite and helpful,lovely decor and the food was amazing. Will definitely be returning

Nice friendly staff. food was not up to scratch. thai is my favourite food and i have eaten plenty of thai food. prawn on toast was half hot and half cold. one of the mains had two chillis on the menu which i assumed meant spicy but there was no spice at all. the sizzling steak was good and tender. sad to say far better thai restaurants in ware and hertford.

As others have mentioned, i like to support local restaurants and this place is nicely decorated and staff were attentive but the food is not authentic at all. It seems to have been numbed down for the British palate. The tom yum soup was very bland and not at all spicy and the seabass dish was very plain too. The sticky rice was horrible. I will not be returning here again but will be going back to the Thai Cafe in Ware where the food is yummy.

I had a nice meal at this establishment! It wasn’t too expensive I liked the decor, the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the tasty food! and it was certainly not cold as some people have said! It has mixed reviews but I think try it for yourself. Restaurants cannot be to everyone’s taste or requirements so why leave a negative review unless it’s really awful.

The menu is much more expensive than the St Albans menu which is not justified by the food which is at most average. Far better Thai restaurants in Hertford at much more reasonable prices. Can’t see this restaurant lasting long

This is the first time I have given a local restaurant a negative review as we really love to support new restaurants.

Was hoping to have an Authentic Thai Meal however nothing in this restaurant even resembled anything Thai.. food was well below average especially the Beef Massaman Curry was not as enjoyable as many that i have eaten in thailand.. my dining partner got quite sick within 30 minutes of leaving the establishment.. its an establishment i would not recommend at all to anyone..

The decor of the restaurant is welcoming, and the staff are very attentive. However, the food really lets it down. Mixed hors d'oeuvre's were uninspiring and bland. Weeping Tiger was tough. Chilli and Basil had very little flavour or spice. Considering how poor the food was, the bill was not cheap!

Had high hopes of Omsins when we walked in .. super busy ( no tables available up or down ) and a buzzin atmosphere. We were showed to our table .. very nice it was to .. in fact the whole decor was pretty nice. And then the food .. Ordered the usual array of starters , mainly fried stuff of which the spring rolls were cold inside. We like quite spicy so the beef salad was the best dish by a mile. We then ordered duck which was presented on a plate .. We quite like when it’s taken off the bone at table .. This wasn’t. Mains were red and green curry which had no heat spice wise and arrived warm at best. Some veggies were missing from the red curry also. Service throughout was magnificent and the staff here really get involved and good fun.. Shame the food didn’t match up as Hoddesdon needs more variety of eateries. Omsins has a great chance to succeed if it gets the food right. Prices were high considering.. nearly 100 per head with tip.

Had a lovely meal here last night. Staff are very nice and helpful. It was nice not to rushed out. There could be more starter dishes to choose from and the house wine I feel was a little expensive at £22. Also it was a little chilly. Overall a lovely ambiance and lovely food. Would definitely go again.

Omsins was recommended to us by a friend and we had a lovely dinner. We enjoyed the food and the staff were attentive and friendly. We also didn’t have to wait long for food to arrive so, overall, very good.

The restaurant opened at the beginning of November and our group have now been there 3 times, and on each occasion the food has been well presented and of excellent quality. When reading the menu make sure you go to the back of it where they have their set menus which are varied and of good value and well worth a look at.

Had a a lovely impromptu dinner at Omsins after finding out it had recently opened. The staff were so welcoming and friendly all evening and the food was excellent. Will definitely be visiting again soon, could be a new favourite! A very nice place all around.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and as a seasoned eater of Thai cuisine I was hoping I would not be disappointed. Far from it, everything about this restaurant was superb. The Ambience, the cleanlines and such welcoming and attentive service. The good was well presented, and so incredibly tasty.

This is a new restaurant, and what a find! The food was outstanding, the service excellent and wonderfully friendly despite being very busy. Sadly we were only visiting the area so it can't become our local, but we will definitely be eating here again as soon as possible. Highly recommended.

My husband worked late and I couldn't be bothered to cook, so we ordered a takeaway which he got on his way home. Yum, their food is delicious! The only criticism would be that it is impossible to find their telephone number online! I am trying to find it now! If I ever find it I will store it in my phone! Highly recommended. Am going to eat in there tomorrow.
