Popped in for first time in 18 months as been working away abroad No change here - the onion Bhaji is the best in the world. I’ve tried them across the U.K., Spain and in the US but coming home to the Cumin was brilliant. My favourite. Then had an aloo gobi was perfect enough with a bit of rice. My mate had a chicken tikka chilly masala which was again, excellent. All in all a great experience and very very friendly welcome from the owner.

Great food. Appreciate we ordered late, just before closing, I didn’t think the order would be accepted if it was too late. Delivery driver was a bit annoyed with us for ordering, saying he tried to reject the order. Take it up with JustEast, not your customers or reduce your opening times to compensate? Ta!

Fast delivery everytime and the employees are really cool, also their vindaloo is brilliant.

Went for buffet Wouldn't even rate 1 star Took over half hour to take drink orders and we asked many times Then after waiting half hour for drinks they still hadn't given us out plates for the the buffet When we finally got our plates we found the buffet to be cold and no meat left in the curries just sauce They charged a baby £10 to eat a few chips of their parents plate Their was only 2 tables full in the whole restaurant so no excuse for any of this In addition when we asked what was served on the buffet they told us to go look for ourselves Yet the food was not even labeled so you didn't know what you was eating and for anyone with allergies this is deeply concerning I can recommend better dogs food to eat than thus

The Cumin bar and restaurant won the award for the best such restaurant in Hertfordshire so we thought we would try it out. Booked for dinner in a Thursday. My wife chose chicken with spinach which was tasty and spicy. I chose chicken tikka masala which was good. The naan was very light and tasty. We ordered an aubergine side which was very good. I finished with an Indian mango ice cream. Definitely a better class of Indian restaurant and worth the drive from Broxbourne. We will come back again

I have moved out of the area so I will no longer be able to visit my favourite Indian restaurant. I was just wanted to leave my last review and say how much I miss this place. If you are thinking about getting Indian takeaway, this is the place. I highly recommend the phaal - it packs a punch for both flavour and spice, when a vindaloo isn’t hitting the spot anymore. The staff here are the most wonderful people. They are very kind, and very accommodating. The food is superb. 10/10, highly recommend

curries was lovely very flavoursome however chips was undercooked pale and hard.

I visited here for the first time in a long time, with a large family group. In short, it was pretty awful. There’s water pouring from the ceiling in the toilets and consequently the floor is a pool of water. The taps also don’t work. To add to this, the service was slow and the staff and unfriendly. In fact when we pointed out they had missed an item off the order they were quite rude. In terms of the food itself, some of the group found it acceptable, but it was overwhelmingly bland compared to many other Indian restaurants in the area.

Great delivery - early , well packed and hot food , The food was very tasty but the downside was that it had a lot of red colouring and too much oil .

We often order our Indian takeaways from cumin bar & restaurant, however the last two takeaways have been incredibly poor. It's a shame to say. I'm not sure if new management has taken over. Both times they have forgotten items. First time I was told we can add to your next order and I accepted. The next order I had to battle with them about it and then they forgot a different item instead. The food has for sure gone down in standard. Considering I have been using this restaurant for years I am gutted to be posting this review. I say how it is and my experience for others.

Great restaurant, fantastic service & food!

I’d been recommended this restaurant by a friend so thought I’d give it a try and what a disappointment it was! The staff were very standoffish from the moment we entered then when we said only 2 of us were eating from the buffet and another lady with us wasn’t eating at all but there was 4 at table the owner was fuming and stated that we booked for 4 buffets when in fact I booked a table for 4 I didn’t say what we were eating! He announced we would have to pay £3 for the lady just having a lemonade with her baby! It was all very awkward and the food was lukewarm too and had been sitting there for hours, the staff seemed reluctant to bring out more of anything and is meant to be all you can eat! Do not recommend!

Worse place have ever been terrible cold food trying to charge a baby and a mum to sit there because they didn’t have the buffet. Would not recommend and never return to this place again. 0 stars.

Well well what can I say the food was amazing. There were dishes on the menu that I had not seen in an Indian restaurant before. The Dahl is highly recommended - outstanding . Starters were a selection of lamb ,king prawn, keema and chicken served up on a platter plate and you help your self - very tasty and aromatic. I had lamb shank in a sauce which was mild (my taste) but tasty. The manager and staff were attentive and helpful .This restaurant did not disappoint and we drove from Leigh-on-sea Essex on a recommendation .

unbelievably disgusting food the buttered chicken had hardly any chicken in it just a few moody strands of chicken and the same yellow sweet sauce and the korma sauce was like yellow sugar water bombay potatoes had no veg in it but just potato and sauce … hard chapattis and cold narm bread . the worst indian restaurant i’ve ever had . an insult to Indian cooking . stay clear.

Cumin is by far the best restaurant in the whole area ,whether eating in or home delivery it never disappoints. You can taste the fresh ingredients and love that goes into each dish. Love love love this place 🥰

Quite disappointed the last few times I've had a takeaway. After 10 years of being my favourite indian cousin food has changed to much for me. I blame the cost of living which has led companies to impresvise to ensure they stay in business. Potatoes to salty, cream and spinch tasted odd, not sure why. And rice isn't as nice as it was before. Shame really, but I'd still recommend to go and try for yourself. Everyone has different experiences.

Owner was unprofessional in turning back on me and continuing a conversation with his manager , all other staff were welcoming

Absolutely lovely. Best takeaway we've had in a long, long time. I'm very happy to find this restaurant and can't wait till next time. The food was cooked perfectly with hardly any oil or fat, chicken tikka was moist with so much flavour and the onion bhaji was 100% the best I've ever had and much less oily than other takeaways in the area. We all loved it.

Unbelievable experience 2nd visit here traveled about 30 mins, and wasn't disappointed amazing value for money, the food comes out quickly and is thee best curry house I've ever been to, fresh, full of flavour and the staff are amazingly friendly, it's worth the travel I promise, let me know how you all find it :)

Very pleased with our first order from Cumin Bar & Restaurant. We’d given up with our usual Indian restaurant and wanted to give someone else a go. We started small (Chicken Tikka Masala and Pilau rice) which came quickly and was delicious. Can’t wait to try the rest of their menu

Went in to eat on Saturday nite at 7.10pm a little busy, 1.10 minutes later…… nothing. Had to hound them to find out how long they would be. Got up to leave and they begged us to stay had go and talk to the chief. I won’t be going back there again. Recommend you eat elsewhere what a waste of our time. Walked out without paying had a rawe what a shirt hole 👎👎👎

Three of us decided to try this restaurant on a Saturday night. My partner is type 1 diabetic and needed to eat. We were left waiting for our food 1 hour and 20 minutes, after 55 minites we asked about our food, as no-one came to the table to apologise, no communication whatsoever, we asked several times, and were told another 5 minutes by one waiter, then another waiter said they would be serving one other table then us. We waited again, we weren't asked if we want more drinks or anything. Other tables were served. We asked again and said we would not wait anymore than a further 5 minutes...(by now it was 1 hour 5 minutes) to be told by the waiter it won't be ready in 5 minutes so just go. Then another waiter came to the table and said to stay the food will be 5-10 minutes more. The customer at the next table said it would be worth waiting for as the food was good... well, she couldn't be more WRONG! The food was definitely below standard. The smallest portion of rice I've ever had in an Indian, chicken jalfrezi was a very odd, bright orange colour, no flavour whatsover, very greasy, the tandoori lamb chops burnt to a cinder, very little meat (these came after the rest of the meal)... veg dishes were bland and tasteless... such a bad meal. We asked for the bill, and when I went to pay I informed the Manager about the long wait, poor service, no communication, poor food... he was EXTREMELY RUDE, saying THE BILL IS NOT MUCH FOR THREE PEOPLE, THAT THIS MUST BE MY FIRST TIME THERE AS HE HASN'T SEEN ME BEFORE, THAT HE LOOKS AFTER REGULAR CUSTOMERS...IMPLYING THAT WE WEREN'T WORTH LOOKING AFTER AS CUSTOMERS (I was unwell ordered a veg dish and rice) and none of us over-order or overeat... I HAVE HONESTLY NEVER COME ACROSS ANYONE SO RUDE IN A RESTAURANT. HE DID NOT APOLOGISE AT ALL, SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS AND SUGGESTED I WRITE A REVIEW ON TRIP ADVISOR IF I'M NOT HAPPY... HE WAS SO BLASÈ... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Food was terrible cold and did not enjoy

We are a family of four and this is the second time we have ordered a delivery. We were told about Cumin by friends and we have absolutely loved all of the dishes that we have tried so far. Delivery has been swift and payment via card over the phone was easy. Give them a try ….

Went there last Friday with friends from work food was amazing service was great starters, mains, desert couple of drinks each for 35 pounds each "fantastic " I would recommend you to go and sample it for yourself

Lunch buffet is soooo underrated 🇮🇳

I have been a regular customer of Cumin for 10 years + and have sampled most dishes on their menu so this week was pleased to learn a new menu is out with 8 new signature dishes. This is the Cumin 65 Chicken which looks and smells great but tastes even better. The succlent Chicken Breast pieces are in a sauce of many spices , onions and peppers which was full of tangy zest which totally opened my senses. I had it on a bed of pilau rice but will be equally good with naan bread I can't wait to try the next new dish probably Ginger Chicken .

Our favourite Indian restaurant 🥰 delivery driver is always early and friendly. Food containers are a great quality which prevents leakage. Food is delicious, well presented and always hot. Well spiced, great quality meat. We’ve never had a bad meal from here, tend to order once every two weeks.

The Cumin is the best in the district. The two young chaps running things tonight along with the older guy who’s been there for a few years - were brilliant. Friendly, professional and welcoming- this was lovely The food was excellent - I had vegetarian option as on a diet . Drinks were great and when it came to the bill- the card was swiped with the actual amount needed. No gratuity or service charge - leaving me to leave a fiver cash. All in all EXCELLENT!

£45 worth order delivered an hour and half late, and cold. Such a shame. Used to love cumin, won’t be using them again. Onion bhajis grease had gone through two bags where they’d been sitting there for so long.

Food and delivery were excellent however they forgot the extra sauces we ordered

Lamb korma, lamb biryani, keema nanny and samosas. Brilliant!!!. Great service and really tender lamb in both meals. Highly recommended.
