Yet another great meal for our yearly get together with my friends, food is great, service is very good and prices are good in my opinion will be back next year.

Well well what can I say the food was amazing. There were dishes on the menu that I had not seen in an Indian restaurant before. The Dahl is highly recommended - outstanding . Starters were a selection of lamb ,king prawn, keema and chicken served up on a platter plate and you help your self - very tasty and aromatic. I had lamb shank in a sauce which was mild (my taste) but tasty. The manager and staff were attentive and helpful .This restaurant did not disappoint and we drove from Leigh-on-sea Essex on a recommendation .

Cold food, and looked like it has been sitting their from 12:30 charged £10 for an under 2 year old who only eat a tomato. Just terrible, never going ago

Really really lovely meal tonight ( Tues, 24 Jan). Nice food; extremely helpful waiter and manager. Loved it. Finally the bhajis are an ideal size! The complimentary brandy was great as well Thank you and see you again soon!

I’ve been a customer here since they opened, around 15 years. In all that time have always had excellent food from here. However, the last couple of times has been terrible. Portions have halved, prices nearly doubled. Peshwari naan is now very dry with nothing inside. Korma sauce very thin and runny, pilau rice tasteless. Sadly, we have all decided we won’t be using this Indian anymore after 15 years.

Been coming here to meet up with friends every December and yet again the food was lovely with very good service by the staff, we will be back next year

Three of us decided to try this restaurant on a Saturday night. My partner is type 1 diabetic and needed to eat. We were left waiting for our food 1 hour and 20 minutes, after 55 minites we asked about our food, as no-one came to the table to apologise, no communication whatsoever, we asked several times, and were told another 5 minutes by one waiter, then another waiter said they would be serving one other table then us. We waited again, we weren't asked if we want more drinks or anything. Other tables were served. We asked again and said we would not wait anymore than a further 5 minutes...(by now it was 1 hour 5 minutes) to be told by the waiter it won't be ready in 5 minutes so just go. Then another waiter came to the table and said to stay the food will be 5-10 minutes more. The customer at the next table said it would be worth waiting for as the food was good... well, she couldn't be more WRONG! The food was definitely below standard. The smallest portion of rice I've ever had in an Indian, chicken jalfrezi was a very odd, bright orange colour, no flavour whatsover, very greasy, the tandoori lamb chops burnt to a cinder, very little meat (these came after the rest of the meal)... veg dishes were bland and tasteless... such a bad meal. We asked for the bill, and when I went to pay I informed the Manager about the long wait, poor service, no communication, poor food... he was EXTREMELY RUDE, saying THE BILL IS NOT MUCH FOR THREE PEOPLE, THAT THIS MUST BE MY FIRST TIME THERE AS HE HASN'T SEEN ME BEFORE, THAT HE LOOKS AFTER REGULAR CUSTOMERS...IMPLYING THAT WE WEREN'T WORTH LOOKING AFTER AS CUSTOMERS (I was unwell ordered a veg dish and rice) and none of us over-order or overeat... I HAVE HONESTLY NEVER COME ACROSS ANYONE SO RUDE IN A RESTAURANT. HE DID NOT APOLOGISE AT ALL, SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS AND SUGGESTED I WRITE A REVIEW ON TRIP ADVISOR IF I'M NOT HAPPY... HE WAS SO BLASÈ... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

We are a family of four and this is the second time we have ordered a delivery. We were told about Cumin by friends and we have absolutely loved all of the dishes that we have tried so far. Delivery has been swift and payment via card over the phone was easy. Give them a try ….

I have been a regular customer of Cumin for 10 years + and have sampled most dishes on their menu so this week was pleased to learn a new menu is out with 8 new signature dishes. This is the Cumin 65 Chicken which looks and smells great but tastes even better. The succlent Chicken Breast pieces are in a sauce of many spices , onions and peppers which was full of tangy zest which totally opened my senses. I had it on a bed of pilau rice but will be equally good with naan bread I can't wait to try the next new dish probably Ginger Chicken .

Bland,tasteless food lacking on spice. Burnt tandoori chicken. Worst Indian takeaway I’ve ever had! What a disappointment,waste of money!

The Cumin is the best in the district. The two young chaps running things tonight along with the older guy who’s been there for a few years - were brilliant. Friendly, professional and welcoming- this was lovely The food was excellent - I had vegetarian option as on a diet . Drinks were great and when it came to the bill- the card was swiped with the actual amount needed. No gratuity or service charge - leaving me to leave a fiver cash. All in all EXCELLENT!

£45 worth order delivered an hour and half late, and cold. Such a shame. Used to love cumin, won’t be using them again. Onion bhajis grease had gone through two bags where they’d been sitting there for so long.

We have been customers of Cumins for several years but we have to give immediate feedback on Monday night’s meal we collected. Firstly the poppadoms and their sauces (including extra poppadoms) were all fine and indeed the 4 gratis Samosas. The rices and the Naans were also fine. However all 6 main dishes and the three vegetable dishes were all absolutely swimming in oil which made them all at least partially inedible. We can only assume that you have a new Chef as we have never had cause for this complaint before but we will not be risking it again for some time. I thought it best to give you this feedback to ensure you knew how your current meals are being received.

Excellent well run restaurant , Amazing food at very reasonable price . Great service and ambient atmosphere . Chef is extremely talented . 10% discount for collections but since start of lockdown they now offer a delivery service with friendly and fully vaccinated drivers (as are all restaurant staff . They offer brilliant set price meals for wednesday evening buffet and sunday afternoon buffet

I had a take away last week and its really amazing and delicious I ever had . The quantity of meat in curry are enough and taste is good as i want its hot like freshly cooked . I want to order again.Highly recommended restaurant in turnford.

We enjoy popping in to get a takeaway. However, our last two orders have been very disappointing. I waited a long time for the food and was handed lukewarm food and the quality of the dish was poor. We will give them one last try before going elsewhere. I told the owner but there was no change. Very hit and miss.

Terrible, ordered for 6.15, arrived 5.40. sauce like water, never again. Thought maybe a one off, but this is the second time

Visited Cumin on Sunday for the buffet which was brought to the table due to Covid restrictions and we were treated like royalty. The whole table covered with numerous dishes freshly cooked and looked and tasted really good. EXCELLENT value roll on next Sunday!

We have always highly recommended this resturante before covid but unfortunately we were utterly disgusted this was our first venture out for a meal since covid my daughter wanted to treat us we suggested there as have missed a good curry but I can tell you we will never eat there again the food was not up to there regular standards all our dishes were the same sauce the cubes of meat were cut in to tiny slices and some of our sides were cold which we did nt eat felt like they had nt microwaved it long enugh I did nt want to make a fuss as my daughters treat I kept apologising to her as we had highly recommended any ways food was very poor standard we asked for bill as it was getting sooo busy in there and we just wanted to leave I paid the bill wen we got home I checked the receipt that they wanted to keep but I took it anyway and realized we were charged extra for drinks we did nt have I called them up and was given an apology and promise nxt time it would be better but I told him we will never be eating there again I also ask for some refund for my daughter just laughed n told we would get good deal nxt time I appreciate they ve been closed but it was disgraceful also the total amount on bottom of bill did nt add up can u tell me do they claim money bk from gov eat out help out scheme because if they do this place needs to be looked into as not only charging us for drinks we did nt receive they are making the final total quite a bit more I would nt give this place even a 1 star and would warn other customers to completely check bill

Had another great meal with my fiancee ..ordered a dish I had not ordered before as I was feeling adventurous.....I followed the Mangers advice.....well I was not disappointed. ..best Indian meal I've ever had. 6 Stars!!!!. Good service..Great food!!!

Lovely restaurant with excellent food and excellent service. The staff were attentive and friendly without making you feel rushed. The tables are suitably arranged to allow for social distancing.

To order a takeaway at most restaurants I normally use 'Just Eat' which is a great system but Cumin use 'Chefonline' which isn't. The system knew I was already registered but refused my password which I knew to be correct and on trying to change my password the link was never sent to my email address to do so. I was therefore forced to set up a new account in my wife's name which then worked. I however had stopped trusting 'chef online' and whilst I still ordered my food through it, I didn't trust that delivery slots would be available as it doesn't cover this until you start paying. I therefore collected at one of the quarter or so hourly collection slots which in fairness worked fine. They didn't send a confirmation email to my system after the order was paid for which is crass.Moving on to the food, the Nan was really excellent warm, soft, fluffy and flovourful. For the most part the poppadoms and dips were great, as were all the rices, veggies and 2 of the main courses. The Chicken Shaslik was considered smaller than when eating at the restaurant but is the same price and the Prawn Jalfrezi was mostly the latter with very few of the former but taste wise they were fine.All in all I'll not order through 'chefonline' again and as Cumin aren't on 'Just Eat' we'll have to use a different indian restaurant which is a shame.

We have been treating ourselves to a wonderful weekend takeaway during the lockdown. Food is well prepared and delicious.

Visited on Friday night. Admittedly, it was busy but we sat shoe horned between two other tables. Drinks order taken fairly quickly but then waited 15 minutes for said drinks. Further delay for our food order to be taken. Food was really good, hot and freshly cooked. Waiters seemed as if they didn’t want to be there and we were an inconvenience. Visit of 90 minutes for a main course,

Just been for a Sunday buffet. The restaurant was not busy and the food was very good but the service was terrible. The waiter that served us just did not want to be there. Maybe with better service they would have more than 2 tables occupied.Won,t be going again.

We have just collected an order for my birthday meal, came home and put the baby to bed. When we opened it, we had been given the wrong dish. When we asked for a receipt in the shop we were told that they don't issue receipts. We called to report the incorrect dish and was told that it was our mistake and that we had to come and collect the correct dish as the delivery driver was off. We informed the "manager" that we couldn't come down and collect as we did not drive there in the first place and he was rude, belligerent and offensive. Telling us that we were in the wrong and that we had to get the bus to them. It is a shame as usually the food is really good and the people are nice but on this occasion, with a so called manager shouting at me and hanging up the phone on me I will not be patronising again.

Visited the restaurant mid-week just before Christmas with a group of work colleagues. The food was good but for some reason I was left with the impression that standards had slipped since my last visit. Normally if I am in the area I wouldn’t go anywhere else but this time I left thinking that I might try somewhere else next time round. Maybe my chicken tikka masala lacked substance? Maybe it was a bit watery? Maybe the bill seemed a lot for what we had? Service was attentive and polite as usual but the restaurant was empty which is never a good sign. Am still very happy to recommend this place but left slightly disappointed. Sorry Cumin team, maybe it was just an off-day?

Visited mid week with a colleague. Both of us ordered prawn saag baltis with naans. The food was substantial, very tasty and good value and one of the better curries I have had. My preference is for the food to be served without garnishings which can be a bit over-the-top in my experience. Already looking forward to my next visit.

The food in this restaurant is amazing. Always of the highest quality. Been recently renovated and the furniture and lighting is very nice. The owner Mr Haque, is a true gentleman! Must try for any locals or anyone passing through!

Avoid at all costs! Got a takeaway from here after visiting the pub opposite. I understand it was gone 10pm and they couldn’t wait to close but that isn’t an excuse for undercooked chicken.

By far the best Indian in Cheshunt. Great flavours even if you are going spicy, every dish tastes unique in flavour rather than bland with different levels of spice. Decent lamb too, not chewy like most Indians in the area. Always my first choice, but they do not deliver. Delivery is a must management!!

The food in here is absolutely beautiful the staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for you a very traditional Indian restaurant which in our eyes is the best Indian we have eaten

This has been our preferred place for a nice curry for a number of years. We have never had a bad experience at Cumin whether it be on a busy Saturday night or a quiet weeknight like this visit.

Loved this place years ago... been coming here once a week initially to now, maybe once every three weeks.

The food is pretty good but unfortunately let down by the incredibly slow service. Had to ask twice for popadoms, three times for an orange juice and three times for the bill. Took an hour to get our main course. Not much care or attention shown by staff.

Every time when we are in Cheshunt we go for dinner. Food is delicious and service very attentive. We love this place!!! Will definitely come back again.

As a local we have used this restaurant for many years and have noticed a steady decline in service and quality of food...on this particular occasion we ordered online and we collected the order only to find they had given us a wrong dish which wasn't too much of a problem, until they were completely reluctant to rectify the situation. They were completely unapologetic and demanded we return the incorrect dish before replacing it with the vegetarian dish we had ordered. By the time they reluctantly exchanged the rest of the food was cold....the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. Will never eat there again. To be honest one star is too much for this place

Have visited Cumin several times now, the food is always good and the service is prompt. On this visit, five of us enjoyed a very good meal - I chose a prawn and spinach balti which was excellent. The venue is never overly busy and is ideal for a catch up with a colleague or an informal business meeting.

Cumin was just wonderful. I don't normally write reviews but after the excellent service and delicious food, I just had to. The servers were so open, happy and welcoming. I have never felt so pleased with any other service. The food was mouth watering and succulent. I will definitely make another visit.

This used to be the best Indian in the area a couple of years ago - I returned last night and wow has it gone downhill!

I would of given it 5 stars but for the fact this was our yearly visit here and 4th in total and its the first time I had to complain about the amount of prawn puree starter we got there was no more than 2 spoonful on 3 plates so they took it away after the complaint and when it did come back there was double on the plate which should of been there in the first place.Food is great here and the service is very good and it is not expensive either we will be back next year but please don't start being tight with your portions.

After living in the area for many years we thought I'd give this restaurant a go, my friends and I thought the food was amazing. I personally do not like my food too spicy, and ordered a mild dish. The food was very tasty, we will definitely go back. The building looks better inside than it does outside, saying that the building itself is most probably a Grade 2 listed building.

First time user of this restaurant and haven't been in this building since it was the Little Bull Public House directly opposite the Big Bull PH. The welcome was meant and the service and tables first class. The food not only kept up to this level but in parts surpassed it. This Restaurant has been here for a very long time and I wish we'd found it earlier because it is second to none for quality, service and hospitality.

We visited Cumin last night and are regular customers given the restaurant's proximity to the hotel where we stay during the week. The prawn and spinach Balti (which isn't on the menu, by the way) and naan lived up to expectations and was quite delicious. Others in our party were also pleased with their choices. Value for money is also good. Our experience is that this is one of the better curry houses in the area.

A very good quality Indian restaurant with very reasonable prices. Good service from attentive, friendly staff. Food was excellent tasting and matched descriptions of spiciness well. Portions just right size, not too large as can be the case with some Indian restaurants. Nice ambience and buzz in the place with plenty of other diners, always a good sign. Definitely worth a visit.

On Sunday I phoned the restaurant to enquire when Elvis was performing again, they said Thursday 29th. Next day I called back and asked what time Elvis was starting, he told me 7.30, so I booked a table with friends for that time.Shortly after we arrived, a second rate karaoke style singer started performing. Deafeningly loud, and lots of bum notes. We assumed this was a warm up. Two courses and some wine on, I asked the Manager again what time Elvis was coming. He said "No Elvis, you got him". So a wasted trip for the friend from Surrey.As I had taken the trouble to check "Elvis" first, not once, but twice, I assume this is some sort of con to get people into the restaurant.The food was good, although the service was very haphazard, we had to keep asking for things. The wine list is very poor.

Fortunately we were able to park at the rear in car park. This is a very popular restaurant and it is wise to book. There is a good choice of food and it is cooked to a high standard and presented well. We wanted a leisurely meal as we were having a catch up with friends. The staff realised this and then did not harass us. We had an enjoyable time and I have no hesitation about recommending this restaurant.

The food tasted ok, service was good, just a shame we were up all night vomiting and diahorrea. Have informed the restaurant but were reluctant to take any blame.Wont be visiting again!

Visited as a group of three, Mum, Dad and 15 year old son-8pm on a Friday. Busy but not fully booked we were waited on attentively without being rushed.A good choice of food, we opted for 3 starters, Aloo Chat and poppadoms. Meat Samosa good, Chicken Pakora-dry, Tandoori King Prawn-excellent.Main course- Chicken Jalfrezi-very good, Balti Kochi Chilli- nice flavour needed more chicken, and a solid half Chicken Tandoori.All served with rice.Nice bottle of wine to accomapny- no complaints on service - price was reasonable too- yes I would recommend for small groups and definitely if just a couple.

The food was good and the service was OK til the time to pay. We received the bill worked it out between all 8 of us. Put a nice little tip paid for 6 people then they told us that they gave us the wrong bill. The staff found it funny and were laughing didn't even offer to help rectify it. Just we had to pay. Shocking service at the end of the night from an otherwise good restaurant.

It's very easy to assess the venue venue. Poor service, long delays, cold food.. From the moment we arrived to a half empty place we suffered delays. First course was so dry it was only helped by a water minted yoghurt. Main course was tepid and "the salad" 1 small wedge of tomatoe, slice of cucumber and a side plate of shredded lettuce totally unappetising. Didn't bother with desert and delays between each courseNever going to return

Just got back from having a lovely curry here with our two children. The food was delicious and the staff were all so friendly. Really lovely for all the ladies to each be presented with a single red rose at the end of the meal. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be coming back!!!

I went to the restaurant with my dad on Sunday. They do a buffet, however we ordered off the main menu. I had the Kebab Haleb, minced lamb kebab in a thin wrap, that was delicious. Main meal I had the Chicken Tikka Biriyani, again very good and would recommend. Overall a good quality curry, service good and would visit again.

A colleague and I visited on a Thursday night at about 7.30pm. The restaurant wasn't very busy and I was left wondering what the food would be like. I ordered a prawn and spinach balti and some plain naan bread. I wasn't disappointed. The dish was packed to the gunnels with prawns and was simply a delight. Together with a couple of pints of cobra I couldn't have wished for more. Although the service was a bit ordinary and could have done with a bit more of a smile the food more than made up for it. I would definitely go back.

Always a great welcome from these guys, and the food is second to none. Lots on the menu, really spoiled for choice. Great house wines, too. A lovely atmosphere with mainly locals using the place - why travel when the best is on your doorstep? Can get busy on a weekend evening, so visit early evening! :P

Used to be excellent, however change of staff not good.Could wait up to an hour for food at one stage but it certainly was worth the wait however last few times went there nowhere near as nice so stopped going.

Came on 26.8.16 party of about 15. Restaurant was so hot no air con on but they soon switched it on. Food was lovely but I found the waiters annoying. As soon as they'd seen you take the last bite of food they were hanging around to whip your plate away. When they bought out clean cutlery, it was lightly thrown on the table (not gently placed) plates were chipped and some were dirty as was some of the cutlery and this let it down. I don't think I'd come here again as I felt the waiters were slightly rude in their manner however I have no complaints about the food and good value for money. Clean and unchipped plates would have been nice though. I think they use the fact that an old 'Eastenders' star went there 100 years ago still as a selling point...

Arrived in a group of 9 around 10.30pm on a Wednesday. The staff were very friendly and accommodated us without any problems. The service was prompt and the menu extensive. Shami kebab for starters and chicken Shashlik for main. The food was tasty, of good quality and great value. I would visit again.

The food is but I've had better , the entertainment nights are good , good for the local people but i wouldn't go out of my way to go there. Still recommend it though.

Good ambience, suitable for families, couples, parties. The food selection is impressive, and offers a few western dishes "Indianised", eg. the salmon dish. Interesting. Portions are generous, service is good. Food is tasty. A shot of 'Baileys' is offered on the house after your meal, and ladies are given a rose each. Lovely touch.A few parking spaces are available.

Normally we sit in with friends but struggled with babysitter so had all round ours and ordered a takeaway. Food was superb, hot, cheap and as good as in the restaurant

We regularly come here and the meals are good. Service was friendly. They even give you a red rose at the end of the meal. What more could you wish for? We are always happy with our meals and the portion sizes are good.

Not been here for some time, food was really good and cooked well, bread was lovely and so were the dishes, could do with cleaning up car park very messy and not good first impression, but once inside very enjoyable.

The standard of the food is excellent, been here many times and is always of a very high standard. Sometimes the waiters are not the happiest and its for this reason only they do not get 5 stars.

Nice food, but the restaurant always looks empty and the lights are always a tad too low. The waiters were a bit awkward, hanging around but once the food arrived and they were satisfied we were ok they backed off.

I took my daughter for her birthday as a family meal . Service was rubbish . Took 1.3/4 hours for main to arrive . Waiter was miserable and rude . We got her a birthday cake and my husband whispered to waiter about the cake to which the waiter brought over plates and said you have got a cake - ruined the surprise . Won't be rushing back in a hurry .

Went there for a Xmas meal with about 10 ladies. What can I say? If you are nice to people, they will be nice to you back. The ladies at my table were very nice to the manager and waiters, and we all got complimentary drinks and roses for every single one of us. They did go the extra mile with us.The food was very nice. The restaurant was actually very packed and I need to remember to book when I go there next time, because this is actually a resto I will revisit.The service was good, even though it was very busy. Read the comments on here about the staff being rude. Like I said the staff was very polite and not at all rude. They warm up to people who are friendly too.

Further to busy bees comment I was part of the group that attended.The comment that was returned is untrue, Not one of us own a taste card and were told when we asked to speak to the manager about th serivce that he was not on the premises. Cumin bar is our local and in the past have had wonderful meals but unfortunately it's customer service is really going down the pan, no longer enjoyable.

Went for a birthday meal with 7 ladies and right from the start the staff wanted us out within the hour as they wanted to go home (Saturday night and we had pre booked the table for 10pm) if they didn't want us there don't take the booking! They were rude didn't smile and called us "the enemy" will never go back again. This is my third visit and the staff are ALWAYS rude. DeJaVu in Cheshunt are always amazing and the staff are super friendly will always pick these guys from now on xxx

Popped in the Cumin after a couple of drinks in the pub opposite with friends. It was a Wednesday evening so the restaurant was quiet, the staff were attentive and brought us popadoms when we sat down and took our drinks order. We ordered our food and it turned up in good time and was for me perfectly cooked and just the right level of spices and heat. My overall experience of the Cumin was positive and I will definitely be going back if I am in the Turnford area.

Always enjoyed the food at the cumin,never too busy and the service always seems efficient and friendly .Food is very good and well presented.Car park is very tight unless you are lucky and get a space round the back.Now i am a regular customer.

Food is excellent and you get plenty I can honestly say that I've never had anything I haven't liked and I've tried quite a bit of the menu!

I live nearby so this is my nearest curry house and the best by far, every time I have been either eaten in or out I have always been impressed with the taste. The staff could do with cheering up a little but apart from that I love it plus woman receive a rose at the end nice touch.

Wanted to treat mum to a night out so booked a family table on a Sunday evening. We were pretty much the only ones there. Unfortunately the food was barely warm and felt like we'd been given the leftovers of their lunchtime buffet. The curry sauces were bad and watery, the service was ok but should have been excellent considering there was barely another table in the house.Very disappointed as this restaurant advertises itself as award winning - this was far from our experience.

I like this place...but, with waiting staff having a bad cold...sniffing, coughing away etc. Its not good...as I thought with food hygiene you cant work close to food and beverages with a heavy cold. Is it like this in the kitchen?
